Well I'll tell you why right now I have been going to this Walmart from day one when the store open in 2013 I still go to this Walmart because it's a very nice store,it's not employees that the problem it's the kind of people that come through the doors.Some of theses people have mental health issues and like to behave like little kids that wants attention they will open up food containers and break the seal then start licking the ice cream with their own tung I have seen people open up sodas bottles and spit in the bottle this is very disturbing and wrong to behave like a baby. Walmart needs to ban these kinds of people from entering the store now a lot people are to the German based store LIDL Grocery store this fine store has become the number one Grocery store in Washington DC The store that is located on 14th and Irving street NW in the Target mall since this has been open this Lidl's grocery store has been over performing with great!! Sessions of fantastic fresh fruits and delicious veggies are always nice and fresh this is why I don't go to Walmart like I used to do because LIDL'S GROCERY STORE. Has great employees and a great experience the has fantastic price that puts Walmart under the bus,,, I love shopping at the Lidl's grocery store Avery thing is so good and fresh no drama like you see in the Walmart store I to go and get my wine and beer. I'm sorry, but this store is a hot mess. I think a part of the hot mess probably is due to the location being short staffed. Also, some of the customers might have ruined any chance off efficiency with their devious ways. I stopped by this Walmart to buy a couple of undershirts, which should have been an in and out errand. It took me about 60 minutes to buy two packs of undershirts. Why did it take so long? Well... Since folks like to steal so much, the men's undershirts and underwear are in a glass display case. Unfortunately, the person who was working the clothing section did not have a key to the display case. Why? I don't know. It took about 20 minutes to find an associate with a key. I'm not really sure why the person working the clothing area did not have a key. Once I got my items after 20 minutes of waiting, I thought it would be smooth sailing. Nope. It took at least 30 minutes to get through the line for my purchase. I was surprised that the line for the self check kiosks were 2-3 times longer than the regular lines. I don't think I've ever seen that before. I'd say if you can purchase whatever you need online, definitely go that route. One good thing about this location: at least parking is free and plentiful. read more

I gotta give credit where credit is due today. I came here to buy a charging cable for my phone, and the employee in the electronics section was sort-of helpful but not that much. He indicated the type and then recommended that I pick-out a cable from the case of cables that was on display. I didn't have much of a clue so I picked the Onn cable. I wanted to test the charging cable with my phone, but he wouldn't allow me to plug it in at an outlet in the electronics section, instead he suggested that I walk all the way to the front of the store by the Customer Service area. After some searching, I located an outlet on the wall and tried the cable. And the cable didn't work. So I needed to return it within the same customer service area. Toria helped me immensely and advised me about a different outlet by the elevators. It still didn't work. Toria then tested the outlet with her own charger and phone, and then allowed me to test my phone with her own charging cable. It worked of course. The issue was with the Onn charging cable, so I purchased the Belkin cable instead, and it was good because it worked. Toria didn't need to do any of that, and she was truly awesome in helping me. read more

NO, NO, NO....never going back to this Walmart. From everything being either locked up or OOS, to rude employees, to weird customers....I'm one and done. It's clear that theft is a major issue here, so shopping takes 5X longer than it should. There's loiterers outside and customers stealing inside. Why don't they just put the entire store under lock and key? Or just do delivery-only or curbside pickup since those of us who don't stesl aren't allowed to shop unencumbered. Every time I come to this location, there seems that there is something else that locked is behind glass. Air fresheners. Tweezers. Batteries. Nail care products. And if it's not behind glass, there's usually some kind of lock on the rack. It's ridiculous having to find someone in a yellow vest to open the glass case, and even then they sometimes don't let you even touch the item.. Today I came in for some new batteries for my wireless keyboard and you would have thought I was trying to buy a priceless cultural artifact. The batteries are now stashed behind register 19. I had to track down someone who could get the batteries for me and when he went to hand them to me the cashier went off, yelling at him that he can't hand the batteries to me and that he has to walk them to the register that I'm going to use to check out. She made this huge scene and everybody in the line is looking at me like I did something wrong. Over a pack of batteries that cost less than $5. And this same cashier literally waited until I got to a self-checkout kiosk before she left her line, and all of the people in it, to walk it over ANOTHER associate in that area, hand HIM the batteries and told him to give me them to me since I was checking out. Again, all of this over a pack of batteries that cost less than $5. These batteries better not EVER expire after all the foolishness I went through to get them.... read more

Update After complaining to the corporal office the problem was resolved. Thereafter, returning to this particular location several times I have not seen these two employees since. I'm hoping they're both in training for customer service etiquette. I gave 5 stars for customer service rectifying the problem. Thanks Corporate Office! read more

The Walmart itself is a big store but there is so much everywhere and a lot of workers with large carts and a ton of people that make it hard to navigate through the store. Also, I think due to the amount of people there was also a very limited selection of certain items or others were completely out. Regardless, I found most of what I was looking for and I liked that the employees enforced the 20 items of less check out line because there were people were carts full of things that was just holding up the line immensely during an evening rush the store was having. A big plus though, they have free garage parking (it kind of smells like pee) but it's covered and close to the elevators. Perfect for a really rainy night like the one I went in. I'd come back because it's less than 10 minutes away from my house! read more

What they say about the employees at walmart really live up to their name of providing terrible and unprofessional services. Towards closing 20 minutes before 11pm, we were told to leave the store since the store had already close Which was incorrect as the store closed at 11pm & it was 10:40pm. All I needed was a few single items that would have taken me max 5 minutes. After standing in a very long line for self check out. It felt as if the "manager" was screaming at us repeatedly that the store was close. All the other line had already put up their "closed registered" sign up and had turn off their light. He then proceeded to yell at everyone that the other lines were open (which they werent) which caused confusion in the lines. Thankful many registered reopened. While my partner was in line, I walked away to check on another line and in the process quickly glanced at something but never picked anything up or stayed looking. I very often look at items while my partner is in line, if he in line what the problem? WELL! it was a huge problem with the manager who yelled at me that i couldn't shop around anymore. No one was shopping, I just glanced at something literally walking in the direction to another registered, that he directed us to go to. Overall, it very apparent that there is customer service training provided to staff, they are willing to put anyone in the position of leadership and that yelling is an okay way of directing the customers. I understand staff wants to go home but gentle ways of informing customers is a more effective approach. My biggest issue with today interaction was the rude attitude from the manager on duty. The most undeniably contradicting chat online with Donnabel. I placed an online order weeks ago (Jan 21st) and received a delivery date of Jan 24th, then it said delayed...I never received any indication that my order was canceled. Walmart blamed it on the 3rd party vendor who was fulfilling my order. I was then told Walmart would contact the 3rd party vendor and I would be contacted within 24-48 hours, via email. When I asked why it can not be fulfilled I was then told they discontinued using this 3rd party vendor due to horrible customer reviews on their products sold. You need to see my screenshot of this chat. It makes no sense at all and Walmart should be responsible for contacting their customers and rectify their customers orders and honor the prices given. I have waited and tracked this order for weeks now and no one informed of anything until I contacted Walmart directly. WTH!! Who is Walmart hiring and why did I keep getting different answers. I never expect to have a pleasant experience at Walmart but in this location I was just happy to leave in one piece. Walmart Supercenter is located in NW DC, there is a dark creepy parking garage for you to park in. Your choices are then to take the stairs, escalator, or 1 of 2 elevators from the parking garage to the store. The area around the carts is mass hysteria when getting a cart, and definitely when trying to put your cart away. When putting my cart away, me and my fellow shoppers were not sure what the protocol was - everyone leaves the carts and goes on their merry way and then they block the main entrance that is street level. Very dangerous to block the main entrance. Moving about Walmart is the same as any place. I was quite surprised that this Supercenter location is actually smaller than comparable Walmarts. Their Christmas section was tiny with not a lot of options for decor or wrapping paper. It was nice that they have a hardware section. I was able to get more nails to hang pictures and extension cords - items I thought I was going to have to make a special trip for. I also was happy to see that they have an outdoorsy section. I was looking for hiking poles and luckily I got the last pair. I did not need help from the workers however none of them look happy and most were yelling at each other. When I was checking out, I had to wait 30 minutes when the cashier in front of me messed up someone's order who was using food stamps. The supervisor then came over and verbally admonished him in a very disrespectful way. This is DC so plastic bags are 5 cents a bag so many people do not choose to carry their bags out to their car. Instead, there is a super long line for the elevator with people trying to cram their carts into it. Do try to go when not busy. read more

I was harassed today around 11 am 12/10/24 by an individual who claimed to be staff at the self-payments-- I thought this guy with a red beard was nuts and starting to provide loudly to follow his directions ... this staff challenged me telling me OH you do not what to listen -- when I was doing what I was told is the right way to wait in line told him to leave me alone twice them he continues a continue with an incoherent speech, told him again leave me alone ... he responds you are going to be forbidden (he uses another rude word) to come back, told him, told him -sir, this is a free country and you have not the right to tell me not to come back... I regret that kind of behavior I am from Spain and working with an international corporation- I was amazed that such a person with a crazy language was not stopped by security. I had the impression that in Walmart the employees believe they have the power to act like the police. as customers and educated professionals resent to be treated like a criminal. Make sure that the individual is called to order... he was in his 50s at the front of the self-pay line directing the line. Will omit his ethnicity but has a large red beard... he acts loud and for me he intends to prove his power to consumers, if you like to welcome other ethnicities just be aware we do not take any rudeness from anyone, especially from staff who as part of their job is to be nice with costumers. I will reassess if is worth being your customer at the expense of being rejected and harassed by whatever reason or inside anger some displayed-- sounds more like they like for some of us to never come back. I've only been to a Walmart a handful of times, but this one is by far the best. It's convenient for me because it's only about three miles away and has plenty of free garage parking. That's a huge bonus in D.C. I came specifically because I ordered an iPad online for store pick up. Then of course I had to browse the store. And in today's episode of "What did I forget to pack this week?", we're headed to the nearest Walmart for a few things. Yep, this one is in Northern Washington DC and it's late on a Sunday night. It was... interesting. The parking deck underneath the store is well lit and relatively roomy. The escalators were working just fine. And the security guards (two!) at the entrance to the store were a nice thing to see. The store itself was decently stocked, at least in the mens wear and the personal care areas. I was able to get what I needed, pay for it at the self-checkout and be on my way in a flash. DC charges 5 cents per bag, so you'll want to bring your reusable bags. read more

I ordered a tear-apart cupcake cake for my son's birthday party and got a confirmation email. My order showed as "in progress" with no issues in advance of our pickup time. My husband arrived to pick up the cake and the bakery counter was dark and unattended. He found someone to help him and always informed that my order had been canceled and that I'd gotten an email about it. I absolutely had NOT gotten a cancellation email. They sent me a cancellation text while my husband was at the store. So basically they canceled our cake without telling us. The birthday party is tomorrow morning and we do not have time to get a custom cake from anywhere else. They're decorating a cake they already had made for my son but it is completely different from the one we had picked out. read more

At 10am this morning Georgia Ave Walmart had NO Hand Sanitizers in every isle, no store Manager on duty and no visible CORONA Virus precautions in place. Shelves were empty- no household cleaners, def not Myers which is what I use. I was verbally assaulted/abused by a 5ft. 11inch. Black Male customer for absolutely no reason. When I began Video recording, he walked away. I informed my register assoc., requested to speak w/ Mngr & Security. This is when I learned despite ALL THE SHOOTINGS which take place at Walmart, this greedy, Irresponsible Corp. REFUSES TO HIRE OFFICIAL SECURITY STAFF to protect Customers from harm. Instead, Walmart hires an "Asset protection Mngr" to "handle" theft or as she stated "misbehaving customers". On top of this, I was informed there were no Security cameras in the Storage bin Isle! So if a customer is stabbed or shot there is no camera to capture it. The man dressed in a 'security-like' uniform IS NOT THERE TO PROTECT US; ONLY TO PRPTECT MERCHANDISE. An unprofessional delivery driver named Safiulla refused to deliver my 6 cases of water today because he felt I was supposed to provide him with a dolly or something in order to bring my items to my door. He lied and stated I rejected my own order. This man needs to be fired, he makes Walmart look bad by the way he treats their customers. I have no clue where you found this person but he does not have the right aptitude for this job. I would like to speak to a manager. I have made many attempts to call this store today but nobody answered the phones. I would like to speak to a manager. How does a delivery person comes unprepared to deliver a customer's items then get a disrespectful attitude because the customer does not accommodate him with a transport dolly or some, SMH? I have been very pleased with the accuracy and quality of the merchandise and speed of my delivery. The delivery fee is a bit steep, ($17.95) but they get me my goods in under 2 hours and everything I ordered is included -- no Out Of Stock or Unavailable; no substitutions. I was pleasantly surprised to find this location right in the middle of the city, and less than 1 mile from where I live. I had been paying very high prices for energy drinks at other convenience stores. I knew that locations in Virginia had lower prices for the same energy drinks, but I really had no clue that there was a location close by. At around 8:30 am, this place was busy! One of the employees actually helped me locate the energy drinks as they were not displayed prominently. You could tell that this place was designed for people who live in the city, because there was no parking that I could see. I will have to. Tired of SUBPAR stores in the District also known as the Capitol of the US! No one ever knows the answers here whether via phone or in person. Called in to make a bakery order, but was told I needed to place an in person order due to COVID. I was told the bakery closed at 10pm, which is also evidenced on google. However when I attended the bakery, it was closed and the employees cleaning up not only did not know the actual hours but showed minimal concern for my needs. I was then escorted to "the" manager whom appeared to be overwhelmed to the extent that she couldn't assist, she shared she believed the bakery closed at "4pm" and was unable to help me as she became distracted other store situations noting, "Why is everyone coming to me" then proceeded to apologize as I walked off in frustration and disgust. read more

This store is awful. I have been twice to pickup something their website stated that it had in stock and both times the store didn't have any left. I asked a store security guard for help yesterday. After I asked the security guard for help the same person walked out of the store with cellphone up and in hand. She walked to the end of the corner of the street while I was in my car waiting at the street. It gave me the impression that she could have been recording me and my request for help was a bother. I guess that is grounds to mock or take offense to the reason I was asking for help. I don't think I will be shopping at the store for a very long time. I purchased online, two (2) of the Tuscom Potato Grow Planter PE Container Bag Pouch Root Plant Growing Pots, but when I received the package, there was a slit which penetrated through the flimsy plastic mailing pouch to the package inside (it appeared to be a box cutter slit). Also, the items were not what I expected (too small, and I'm not sure the polyethylene is food-safe). Some time went by and I forgot to go in to return the products for a refund. I was told that I couldn't get a refund, because the items were from what I guess you could call a distributor of Walmart, and it was "too late" to get a refund. This occurred in spite of the fact that I showed the Walmart representative where the package came to me split. He was adamant, but he did send me information for the distributor. The growing pots are just polyethylene bags, very flimsy. The customer service with the distributor leaves a LOT to be desired. Therefore, I would recommend that you DO NOT BUY these growing pots. They're bags, really, and flimsy at that! I got some other bags from another company, and they are very nice. But I've never heard of an outfit that hesitates to give a refund, simply as a good customer service gesture. This leaves me to think that distributor won't be around for long. He did offer me a measly 5% discount on a future purchase. Well, that won't be happening. Walmart, you can kick rocks on this one! read more

This location is usually packed with customers no matter the time or day so be prepared accordingly. the aisles are tight and its hard to physically distance yourself from others. The stockers are constantly in the way re stocking the shelves during the day and that takes up space as well. Overall, I wouldn't recommend shopping here if your looking for safe measures while shopping. read more

Best chili section in a grocery store! 1st and only dedicated labeled section to get canned chili, including several chili's for putting on hot dogs, skyline chili is sadly missing, hormel , Campbell's , and every other national brand is in full force. The HDMI cable I saw online was not at the store with the price indicated. Some of my compulsive buys were volleyball inflation needles, wrist bands, almost got a cheese grater. There I saw the biggest stack of glazed Krispy Kreme donuts... The place matches the height in the neighborhood but all the black ironwork makes it look like a bunker, The price savings bunker. read more

This Walmart is handling the COVID-19 situation amazingly! There are multiple hand sanitizing stations and social distance when waiting to purchase items. When going to the clothing area there are no clothes on the ground and everything is organized nicely. As for the food isle, everything is always organized as well. The workers are sweet and greet you with a smile. I love how I don't have to deal with attitude at this Walmart and instead of smiles and greetings. The reason I partially go is because of how kind the workers are. Even though the line can get long sometimes that's something that is out of the workers control so I will not complain. Definitely one of my favorite Walmart's to go to. read more

I've seen a male worker smack s female worker butt, a girl on her phone texting while customers are in line. Inappropriate conversation! This store is the worst. My biggest issue is the fruit they sale, HORRIBLE! My last draw was buying a fruit bowl in the morning for breakfast, got to work, open container and the fruit smelled horrible! This has happened before so it is basically Walmart not giving one single F*uck about the freshness of the fruits and veggies they sale! Oh and my job was only across the street from Walmart! This location truly exceeded my expectations! Prices were much better than competitors of Giant, Safeway,Target, and especially Whole Foods. I just came from this location when everyone was stocking up for the big snow storm and I figured there'd be low supply of most things. That was not the case at all. Everything was stocked and if it wasn't, the team members had those huge flat beds restocking the shelves. Although it was a bit tough to find a price scanner and I team member occasionally; everything was superb. It also sucks that the baskets can't leave the front door if you are parked in front of the entrance. I will definitely be back to this location in the near future. read more

Trash. Arriving to the store is a chore since there are multiple elevators not working. The store is just mayhem. When I arrived to the store, the workers were just standing around, laughing and giggling but there were no people available to help me. So many things are inaccessible being they are behind glass and you need to find a certain worker with a key to the glass. The workers who were doing their jobs were overwhelmed by many of us asking them questions. This was my first time going to this location and it will be my last. I won't be back. read more

There are a couple ups and downs about this place. Ups: *It's a convenient place to get groceries in Brightwood. *The quality and prices of the products are good. *It's right at a bus stop for the 70/79 lines. *Also it has plenty of parking. I've never had an issue finding a spot near the underground entrance. Downs: *The self-checkout machines are both slow and temperamental. You may find yourself waiting a full minute for one item to show as scanned but find it scanned twice. *I've found it to not be an uncommon experience for strangers inside the store ask me for money. read more

This location is the closest to Silver Spring. I have no complaints about it. I've always been able to find what I need and it's usually never crowded when I go. There is ample garage parking which I like and they have the escalator with the cart carrier. The staff has always been friendly as well. read more
