I just called this pharmacy to inquire about my scripts being transferred from Cary Rx to them. First of all, I don't like this pharmacy because they are very unprofessional, this woman I spoke to was very rude and did not give me a chance to explain my situation, someone told me last week from there that my scripts would automatically be transferred there on last Friday. I tried to prevent this by informing Cary to send my scripts to capsule pharmacy on last Wednesday, but they did not. I did not find out that Cary was closing until a day before, so I found CAPSULE pharmacy that same day. Come to find out my scripts haven't even been sent to KALORAMA according to the person I spoke to. I had a negative experience with these people years ago so this is the last place I wanted my scripts to go. They have not changed. read more

I love supporting small neighborhood pharmacies! This one is super quick and I don't think I will ever go back to a big retailer. They have a small but mighty selection of OTC items too, and ICE CREAM. Because, you know, that's an essential item. Staff are kind, and everyone could use that in these times. :-) read more

We used to be happy with them. However the staff to a argumentative when they make a mistake. I have called several times for my husband's medication. They charged him for a medication that they did not send and have accused us of removing the medication. My husband is disabled and we do not have transportation to travel to them. Every month there is a problem with them. That don't believe in the customer is always right. They don't believe that they make mistakes. They treat my husband like he is the problem. read more

I had previously been frustrated during Covid by the service at Kalorama Pharmacy. But I think it was a trying time for everyone, and so I went back there. I was very pleasantly surprised by the attention and service afforded. Reviews should be updated when things change. My experience changed, and so has my review. read more

I was using cvs previously, but when a local pharmacy opened up, I immediately changed my prescription over to here. I am a big proponent of local and small business. In general, this is a nice, clean place with friendly staff. It is a true pharmacy so you can't get other stuff here. Being small also means it is not open 24/7 and not at all on Sundays. So far the only thing that they have not figured out how to do well is the auto-refill. I have to call them every time versus getting the text that they are refilling and to pick up. If they fix this issue, I would up them to 5 stars. read more

I'm so pleased to have switched from a large chain to Kalorama Pharmacy! The space is welcoming and the team always goes above and beyond in terms of service. It's clear that they care deeply about their customers. They do a fantastic job managing complex prescriptions, working with insurance (even when it's a pain) and offering helpful advice. They also offer home delivery and a range of other convenient services. It's unusual these days to be able to develop a personal relationship with your pharmacist (and the team) and I'm reminded of what a difference this makes every time I pick up scripts. It's faster, less stressful and friendly. P.S. They are also offering all three Covid vaccines and scheduling with them is a breeze. In addition, they participate with a DC government program to give out free Narcan, no questions asked, no ID required. I wish everyone did this - as with this product and some very basic education - you could save a life. Shout out to the pharmacist that has been there from the beginning (I'm embarrassed that I have forgotten her name) as well as Taylor and Shaddy. This is a team that cares about you and your health and has the knowledge and experience to make a difference in their customers lives. I would give them 10 stars if I could read more

This is my neighborhood pharmacy and among my favorite businesses in DC. The staff and owner know me and my family members by name and are always, warm, attentive, and professional. In fact, they often call to let me know if there are any potential issues with my prescriptions to help me avoid unnecessary hassles. You won't find a more personalized experience at any other pharmacy. They're also small and family owned unlike most of the big box pharmacies in town. I highly recommend Kalorama Pharmacy! read more

Always such a pleasant and quick in and out experience! Staff is great and helpful! I've had to get medication and they're always fast filling. I also had to get medication and use my workers comp insurance for it instead of my regular one and they were very accommodating and were able to switch the insurance! Love supporting the local pharmacy. My dad is a pharmacist and I know how important supporting the "little guy" is! Love this pharmacy and recommend if you're in dc, especially Adams Morgan! read more

Was excited about a neighborhood pharmacy but Kalorama is genuinely a terrible place to get your meds if you actually need them. Kalorama seems to be disorganized, un thoughtful and they never get your medication by the time you need it. Go somewhere else. read more

If you have a very flexible schedule, they are great and attentive. But if you are the sort that might get stuck at the office Monday through Saturday unexpectedly--then you will find yourself without a prescription as they are closed Sunday's and relatively early the other days. And if you try to leave a voicemail for them (as I did tonight at 8pm), you'll simply get a message that their voicemail is full. It's very frustrating to have to try to call in prescriptions when they are open (Cvs had working voicemail and longer hours), but when you can get them on the phone in person, they're great. So for those off work by 6pm or who typically have saturdays free, enjoy! read more

I couldn't find meds I needed for severe cough that I had suffered for 4 weeks. No sleep, couldn't speak. I understand the reasons it is restricted but I really needed it. A pharmacist I knew recommended Kalorama: and when I went in the Pharn explained the med; explained the insurance; ordered it and called when it came in. I am so very grateful. Parking is meh but it's DC. I am living again. God bless you. read more

Support your local, independently owned pharmacy! Unlike the national, impersonable, unhelpful chain pharmacies, Kalorama Care Pharmacy provides amazing service with knowledgeable, professional staff. They will even search the pharmaceutical data bases to see if any co-pay assistance cards are available for cost savings. Good luck getting CVS to do that! They honestly care about your health. How refreshing! I am a healthcare provider and have worked with every CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid,etc over the past 30 years and trust me on this, you will not find a better Pharmacy than Kalorama Care. I realize that many insurances incentivize you to use a mail order or specific pharmacy chain but if possible do yourself and your health a favor and see how a real pharmacy should run. Those of us living in Adams Morgan are fortunate to have Kalorama Care in our hood read more

better than cvs but if you dont remind them early, you dont get prescriptions on time.

A great pharmacy with a friendly helpful staff who go out of their way to help. The chief pharmacist owns the shop, and she is really knowledgeable and accommodating. They don't have a ton of selection, but the products they stock are all really good. read more

Great staff and pharmacist. conscientious and helpful. highly recommend.

Unbelievable service at this friendly neighborhood pharmacy. They know their customers and are consistently reliable. Top-notch!

A local pharmacy that gives personalized care. Turnaround is so much faster than CVS in terms of order scheduling and lines (there are none) that I don't mind driving 20 mins to get there. read more

Kalorama Care Pharmacy provides the best service I have ever experienced from a pharmacy. Ms. Manjula Chitkula, the owner and pharmacist, is dedicated to her customers and her business, and it shows. She and all of her staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always go out of their way to help. It was a pleasant surprise to learn that, unlike other pharmacies where I had to call to refill my multiple prescriptions, and call my doctors when a prescription needed a renewal, the Kalorama Pharmacy staff automatically takes care of all of that! And they call and text to let me know when my prescriptions are ready. Plus if they can offer a generic substitute or provide a coupon, they do that as well. And for those of you with pets, they are a pet friendly pharmacy too! This is a small business that shines! I highly recommend Kalorama Care Pharmacy. You will love them! Suzanne read more

I appreciate the ambitions of this small neighborhood pharmacy. They were great with the pediatric vaccine providing opportunities for walk-ins and getting as many little kids vaccinated as possible with their 1st shot (from what I heard from friends). The South Asian pharmacist is very nice and good. However, we went today for my daughter's 2nd pediatric vaccine. We had an appointment and yet still had to wait in line with walk-ins. When our turn came, we had to fill out paperwork and the man processing the paperwork dropped my daughter's vaccination card and blamed me for it saying he never got it. Eventually another pharmacist found it on the ground. It created a lot of stress for me. He barely apologized. We finally had our turn for the vaccine and then they said to wait for the vaccine card. 10-15 minutes later I was given the card and it had the same dose written twice. They had to fix the card. It was completely disorganized and the whole process took over 1 hour. At other pharmacies I've spent 10-15 min. max. I won't return. They need to staff up to meet their ambition (which is an excellent one). read more

Excellent service. Pharmacist and staff go above and beyond to make sure customers get the care they need. Friendly, concerned, personable.

Great neighborhood pharmacy. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I was looking for some herbal powder and they ordered it for me and called me when it arrived. read more

Kalorama Pharmacy is amazing. I had bounced around from pharmacy to pharmacy prior to their opening, but the others were impersonal and I often had to wait a ridiculous amount of time to pick up medication. Kalorama always gets me the best price on my prescriptions and the staff are wonderful. Highly recommend switching over to them. read more
