Great CVS pharmacy! This location is located conveniently off of Lee Highway and easy to access in the Lyons Village Shopping Center. The store is bright, open, well-organized and finally..... a CVS with shelves that are fully stocked with most of your essential items and not locked in cages everywhere! I love it this way and it makes the shopping experience much better and more efficient, than to have to wait, ring a bell, or flag someone down just to unlock cages and shelves to get your items. This is a rarity these days, given all the theft and "snatch n'grabs" going on with CVS locations in the DMV. Another added plus is that there is a MinuteClinic, HealthHub and Pharmacy all located in one at this location, which makes it convenient for getting all your shots, medication's and quick healthcare needs addressed with a nurse on site. Also, the staff here are very friendly and helpful. There were folks on the floor available to point you to anything you needed to find in the store. Not to mention, lots of great sales and this store is the perfect place for 'stacking" those CVS coupons! They truly come in handy and save you a good bit of dollars. I came in here today and stacked a couple of coupons against each other on my items, which saved me over half on my purchase from $78 dollars to $36! I also sometimes make a run over to this CVS if my normal one is out of something I'm looking for. Cannot talk to the pharmacist here when there is a problem. System directs you to leave a voicemail but messages are not returned. However, they keep calling me to say I can't get my prescription until I talk with the pharmacist but then it is impossible to talk with the pharmacist. So I driver here - 10:40 am -drop off window is closed, this is the line at the consultation window. Another four people standing in line for pick up. *** This location is chronically understaffed and the wait times at the pharmacy are terrible. The Good : I like the store just for the goods and products. Sometimes I can get amazing deals and goods featured here other CVS's around me do not carry. Also after Easter and Halloween I raid the 75% off candy section. The Bad : Occasionally at night the store can be a bit unorganized, but hey that is one most places are doing their inventory and stocking. Not to mention on the weekend the store fills up drunks. Some of the worker's here will hover and give you dirty looks like you are attempting to steal something. Not cool. The Ugly : My doctor has warned me about bringing my prescriptions here. This location found all sorts of ways to tick me off today. 1) I signed up for a checkup at the Minute Clinic and waited from 12 to 1:15 for my turn, with the text message system telling me to come back at 1 because my appointment is coming up. At 1:15, the patient before me gets out and the nurse practitioner tells me, "Sorry but I'm going to lunch now" when the sign says lunch doesn't start until 1:30. Is it really that hard to squeeze one more patient in before your lunch break? If so, then the text message system should have not told me my turn was coming up and your queuing board should not have stated that my wait was only going to be 40 minutes. 2) The pharmacy was unable to sell me Mucinex D because their ID checking system for pseudoephedrine was down. I like this CVS for its convenient location, ample parking and good store ambiance. The shopping center remodeling has helped the look of this place! I prefer this CVS to the other CVS location down the street on Lee Hwy. I was a customer who shopped at cvs and parked my car in the lot while shopping. I really needed CVS staff to be helpful after my car was hit in their parking lot while I was inside getting a prescription filled. Instead, they just said we don't know if we have any cameras and we don't know the name of the building management company that's responsible for outside. We're only in charge of inside the store. They didn't even say they were sorry about my car which is a sort of normal human reaction. I was told only the manager would know the building management company and to call back in the morning. I called multiple times in the weeks that followed and no one ever picked up. I stopped by after work multiple times and the manager wasn't there. The best pharmacy i have been to! The staff working in the pharmacy deal with a lot of rude customers and are almost always busy, but they always seem to do a great job in bringing the lines down quickly and efficiently. The two best pharmacy technicians are nasir and kiran. They're very friendly and know how to get their work done, they work at a fast pace and they pay attention to details. The best pharmacist at this particular pharmacy is ossama. I believe he works the night shifts but hes an amazing pharmacist and he really knows his stuff. I went to him one time asking for his recommendation for some pain reliever medication, i don't remember what he recommended me but i instantly felt better. This location is a bit far from my house but well worth the drive. Anytime i need something, i always come to this pharmacy! read more

This review is for CVS Pharmacy in general. I would highly suggest elsewhere for prescriptions. I had hoped that the problems with the previous CVS in Courthouse were location specific, but they are not. CVS will auto enroll you and your prescriptions into automatic refill programs like Rapid Refill, ReadyFill, and ScriptSync (seriously, I've had all three). You'll be put into a wonderful program in which your drugs are refilled at that location automatically. That's a HUGE problem for me because... 1) If my doctor decides to make a medication dosage change and gives me a new script, my insurance may have already been billed for that medication (at the old dosage) by the auto-refill. So I can't get insurance authorization on the new dosage and I'm waiting 30 days. 2) If I want to pick up my medication at a more convenient CVS location, tough luck. The auto-refill occurred in one specific pharmacy, so that's where I'm going. 3) And conveniently, since your refill is at CVS, so are you! With auto-refills, you don't have time to consider other pharmacies because your medication has already been filled and billed to your insurance. It's a C+ MBA student's dream! These "features" activate through the CVS website, so you probably won't know they're even on! And since signing people up and then requiring people to 'opt out' as opposed to asking customers to 'opt in' retains a significantly larger portion, that's how CVS operates. Cancelling is a joke. Through the 1-800 number, I spoke with Joanne with the notification division, someone at the cvs.com division, someone else at the support team, and then Laquida. She told me first that I'd have to wait until Jan 1st for the system to reset. When I asked for a manager, that wasn't the case anymore! But since I never got to talk to a manager and she didn't know about their own company's policies, I was transferred to ... my insurance company. They were very confused why they were told (by CVS) that I was trying to cancel my prescription drug insurance. Since that's not at ALL the reason I called CVS, I physically stopped by the Lee Hwy store. Asking about the "ScriptSync", I was met with confused stares and the instruction to "cancel through the 1-800 number." Does it even need to be said that they've lost a customer? read more

Across the street & next to a grocery store (I forget if it's Giant or Safeway?). They're pretty well stocked, but the confusing thing about the store is its layout. Clearly not every CVS has the same layout and product placement... but this one has the medicine split between two areas of the store. A girlfriend and I were looking for something in the pharmacy and didn't realize until after 10 minutes of searching that we had to go to the other side of the store for it. So... if you're searching for something, it might take a little creativity (or you can cheat and ask an assistant, like we did, haha) to find it. I've spent more time with this CVS in the last 10 years than I have with my mother in the last decade. True statement. I'm here a lot. Thanks to my insurance company, I have two different prescriptions that I have to pick up at different times within the same month. Good Stuff: I concur with many of Ryan W's points that he's made. They are open 24 hours and they have not poisoned me. The cashiers and the pharmacists are usually cordial with transactions. Not So Good Stuff: No transaction has never gone smoothly. I avoid this store when I'm in a hurry, so I only come at the obligatory 2x/month to fill my scripts. Front End: It doesn't take long for the front end to back up because there is always something wrong. I think that the CVS Card issue is partly to blame. Here's my typical scenario: "Do you have a card? Let's try your phone number. Oh that didn't work. Have you tried this product? Oh look you have 50 CVS Bucks that you can use any day but today." Then I am handed several dead trees with coupons printed on it that will most likely expire before I use them. Pharmacy: Don't get me wrong, it's better since the remodel. Just one smooth transaction would be nice. You wait 30 mins for a prescription you pick up monthly. You gave them 40 mins because you know how this goes. The person in front of you always has a problem with their prescription. You come back with credit card in hand and you're ready to go and: "When did you drop it off sir? What's your last name again? How many did you drop off? Did you drop them both off at the same time? Let me just check on one thing...I'll be right back. Oh it looks like...hmmm...Oh it looks like it's almost ready. This CVS is a lot like my mother- I can never do anything right here and I don't want to stick around longer than I have to. Getting to be a CVS hater now, mainly because the coupons they so generously dole out are rarely honored, due to some supposed "sale" there is no posted advertisement for. Seems to me they not only get you in there with their useless coupons, but then they try to wear you down with babbling excuses why you can't use them, while also giving the appearance of being a "premiere' drug store with their sweet as sugar smiles during the rejections. There was a pregnant woman crying, pleading for them to hurry with her script (talk about hormones!). 3 visits to the pharmacy in 30 days. 3 bad experiences. 1st time they forgot to fill 1 of my 3 medications and I told her they hadn't filled one and the woman at the counter replied "we didn't forget to fill anything actually." I said "well I am here to pick up 3 scripts and you have 2 in your hand so I beg to differ." She literally rolled her eyes and then finally looked in her system. Guess what? "Oh ... yeah we can fill it can you wait?" I said - I called 3 days ago and you told me you were out of the medicine but to come in today, Monday, because it would be ready. No. I can't wait. I came back to get said script along with a refill for another medicine 2 weeks later. Guess what? I got home and only had 1 bottle of pills even though I explained to make sure I had 2. I was in a rush and should have checked but I figured they couldn't make the same mistake twice. Then today... I came in said my doctor called in a script for me 20 min ago. She said it isn't ready yet. I said OK well I'm sick (I barely have a voice and I look like the walking plague.) and she goes oh... so I mean are you like trying to wait for it? I said. ummm yeah I need to take it as soon as possible. She said we will call you when it's ready. I had waited in like close to 15 min the first time just to be told to keep waiting. I sat in a chair right next to the counter for 57 minutes. (Yes I began to time it). No call. No text. No wave from the counter all of 4 feet away to let me know it's ready. I get back in line. 10 minute wait to get up to the counter. I say HI yes I'm still waiting... she says well it's ready. I said are you kidding me? Why wouldn't you tell me? She said we did. I said WHEN? She said we called you. I said you literally didn't I've been here the whole time. She said we texted you. I said you absolutely did not. Guess what? I got a text 15 min after I got home. Lying little sack of shit that girl was. I'm done. Getting a new Pharmacy. Save yourself the trouble there's a Walgreens right across the street. read more

They lost my prescription. I came in and gave the pharmacy tech my paper prescription (it was a compound so it couldn't be called in). They said it would be ready the next day. I come back the next day and they admit they lost the prescription and I would have to go back to my doctor to have them write another paper prescription for my compound. They were really nice but did nothing to make up for the fact I'm without my medicine for an extra day AND have to go back to my doctor to have my prescription rewritten. read more

I found this CVS pharmacy last night while I was staying at a friends house less than half a mile away and needing some over the counter medicines quickly. It was about 10:30 pm when I forced my boyfriend out of the house with me into the snow. The store was quiet, appeared to be very well stocked, and had two gentleman working the front counter. One quickly rang me up without any issues and on my way I went. I can't comment on the quality of the pharmacy or store conditions during busier hours but my experience was a pleasant one and if I found myself in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to go back. read more
