I went to this Safeway after learning that my new insurance wasn't accepted at CVS for prescriptions. I was in a bit of a bind this evening so went here hoping they would be able to fill my fairly simple prescription quickly. Instead of helping or even pretending to, I was told "oh I'll get to that tomorrow" despite explaining the circumstances and my urgent need. After expressing disappointment, the tech informed me CVS was sometimes hard to get ahold of over the phone (to transfer prescriptions) as if that provided justification for holding off and that Safeway's pharmacy would be closing soon anyway. Even if it wasn't possible within 40 minutes, it would have been nice if the technician could have been a little more considerate. Long story short, I will not be going back to this pharmacy to get my prescription filled tomorrow or any day. read more

Updated to add: I came in here to drop off two prescriptions figuring I could just pick them up later since they take forever. I went up to the counter and, while I didn't wait long, I realized I just couldn't keep doing this to myself. You know when you walk up to a counter and people are busy, but they at least acknowledge you are there with a nod or a "one moment"? Nah. Literally were 4 people working and I just stood there awkwardly looking from person to person for 30 seconds and was like, eh forget it, Harris Teeter is a mile a way. I'll be switching all my prescriptions. You know other pharmacies where you can call in your prescription and pick it up an hour later? Don't expect that here. Even if you've called hours in advance, there is a good chance that they'll rifle through the filing system up front, a pile in the back, then tell you they need 20 minutes. Every time I go to this Pharmacy I want my life back. I'm going to be honest they do have a good stock of things and I have never had to wait for them to order anything for me but you will wait for hours I don't know what they're doing in the back but if you go in and drop off and do your shopping you will still be waiting for them to finish whatever it is they're doing to fill your subscription even though they say 20 minutes they really mean an hour and a half. This Safeway pharmacy has the best pricing of any pharmacy in the area. The pharmacists are sharp and very professional. The SAFEWAY app is easy to use and the text messages to remind you of refills and pick ups are very prompt. I recommend them highly and I am a physician! read more

I got travel immunizations at this location in 2010. They take insurance (woo hoo!). The downfall was that when I called the location to confirm they had what I needed I asked them if I needed to make an appointment or could I just walk-in. They said I could walk-in. When I did I was informed that I had to fill out an online form prior to being served. I sat there with a blackberry and painstakingly filled out the form. I suggest that you look for the form on the Safeway Pharmacy website and fill it out. I don't believe this Safeway location offers travel medicine services anymore, and not all Safway Pharmacies offer travel services, so be sure to check their website. I don't know why anyone would use this pharmacy. It takes hours if it is a common prescription (amoxicillin), days if not and weeks if they have to order. The line is often long with three or more people behind the counter not helping anyone. Don't count on doing your grocery shopping while you wait - you will have to come back maybe more than once. Just go to Walgreens. read more

Love This Safeway!! I had just visited the Giant down the street the same night and the worst experience ever over there!! I came to safeway and guess what? They had many employees there to assist me! I had the pleasure of two nice lady's that night that helped me easily find the items i was looking for. They had enough registers open and was a easy, fast check out! I was in and out in 5 mins! The store was very clean, organized, spacious and had a good selection. Keep up the Good Job!! We have to agree with others that the pharmacy is in total disarray. Prescriptions never seem to be ready when promised, even if we've given them extra time. Often they have not even started preparing it. We are switching to Costco. We had excellent service from them with meds for a pet, so the slightly longer drive will be well worth it. Since it's renovation and re-opening, the entire store has been a disappointment. read more

There is a younger female pharmacist with a real attitude here. I require a prescription for Tramadol and each time I come here she treats me like a drug addict or dealer. Like who has heard of someone selling Tramadol on the street? The only reason I come here is because GoodRx is much cheaper here. If that was not the case I would definitely go somewhere else. read more

Give this another try. This pharmacy really struggled for a long time after reopening. I knew the pain and frustration and actually did move to CVS. I had a recent need to go back here for a drug that they had when CVS couldn't supply at all. Wow! What a change! Now it just seems to be running smooth again. I have recently used this Safeway pharmacy twice. Neither time did they have my prescription ready (they were transmitted electronically). The first time I had to wait 25 minutes while they filled it. The second time they only just began to work on it as I walked in, this despite the fact that it was sent in 24 hours previously. It was just too long to wait again, so I will have to go back again. Never again, Safeway. You've lost my business. read more

I agree with all the other negative reviews. Last week I called to confirm that they had all of my prescriptions as requested and asked if I could pick it up that afternoon. I get there had to wait 30 mins and then they tell me they only have two out of the four I needed. They were very nonchalant about everything. They also lied to me on two separate occasions telling me that my insurance would not pay for a 90-day supply. I called my insurance and they said that this is not true. I called to complain to the pharmacist and she started making a lot of irrelevant excuses. This is not my first incident with this pharmacy. I have been using them for nine months and it is always one thing or another. Thank God I do not have to have my prescriptions filled often. Either way, do not waste your time ppl. I transferred my prescriptions immediately after hanging up with the pharmacist. read more

This safeway closed for some time. I was pretty excited when it re-opened. It was new and clean. I have been satisfied with the food and quality up until recently. I have purchased crabs- king crab legs and snow crab that had already expired. I have had to return them on more than one occasion. Last time I checked it is rather obvious if seafood has expired.
