I read the positive reviews and decided to try KC Pharmacy to order a hospital bed for my elderly mother who as Parkinson's Disease and dementia. I paid for the bed and delivery to her apartment in Lorton. I made the arrangements in person because I explained that I had to have her old bed removed before the new bed was delivered due to space. I was assured the bed would be delivered today (Wednesday). About 2:00 pm, I called because I hadn't heard anything. I was told there was an "emergency" with the delivery person and was asked if the bed could be delivered Thursday. I said no because she has no place to sleep, so I was then told "okay we will have it delivered later this afternoon, after 5:00 pm". It is now 8:35 pm and no one came and no one called because KC Pharmacy lied and does not care at all about customer service. They could care less that a 91 year old elderly woman with serious medical issues has no bed to sleep in. If they did care, they would have bothered to call me and let me know they weren't coming. This place is a JOKE. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS! The day I came in to pay for the bed, there was an elderly man asking about his wife's medications and why they had not refilled her pills. He said that his wife was out of medication for two days and had been told it was "coming". He was told it was "backordered" and they didn't know when it would come in. The man then asked if it was safe for his wife to skip her medicine and the staff person said "yes she should be alright". Seriously? The poor elderly man was upset and this tech was lying straight to his face. This type of flippant attitude with elderly people is really disturbing. Sure, the reviews you read are mostly positive if all you need is standard medication, but I would not trust these people to give any advice nor assistance with medical supplies because THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYONE. The only thing they care about is getting paid. Elderly people are expendable in the eyes of KC Pharmacy. Do yourself a favor, don't trust your parents' medications or supplies to this place. read more

It always goes well when I go to KC. The employees work so hard and always greet you with a smile. This place is the reason we do not go to the other places because this is not a chain pharmacy where they take breaks and never smile. Sally and all the other employees strive to make the customer happy. They make you feel like family and go the extra mile always. Tell me another pharmacy you go into where your doctor sent the prescription over the last hour and they say "give us a few minutes" and it will be done. They are all amazing and Sally and GiGi and the others make my day when I walk in the door. They will engage in conversation and take the time to ask how your day is going. If they do not have your medication they do not say "next week". They say it will be here tomorrow!! We love this place!! read more

This pharmacy is awful. Besides the the fact that the pharmacy looks dark and slightly dirty, I still went in. I asked if they had any hand sanitizer. I was told no first and then yes. I was presented with and 8 ounce bottle of generic hand sanitizer and was told the price was $28! This pharmacy is price gouging during a pandemic! I will never go there again. read more

BEWARE!! Went in to buy some gauze pads (2x3's) The price on the box was marked $.18. That's not too bad, but higher than other medical supply pharmacies. When we got to the cashier, we were charged $.80 a piece! We were only purchasing 20 of them, not even a full box, and that adds up to $16.00!!! You can go into any CVS and buy a box of 30 for around $5. The entire point of using a medical supply pharmacy is to get discounted prices on items you'll be using a lot of during a medical issue. We returned to the pharmacy, pointed out the error and they made the correction for us, so at least we weren't stuck with the $16 charge, but come on....that just seems shady! read more

I always go to Walgreens to fill my prescriptions but tried this place because it's in the same building as my PCP. My goodness the people here are super kind and friendly. It is so refreshing to see people like this still exist! There was a really old lady customer and I happened to notice this man (who worked there) helping her and he was so kind, patient, and attentive to her needs. I wish more people ran their businesses like this place. UPDATE: My 2nd time I came here was even better, I only waited approx. 5 minutes to fill. I've remained several years with KC Pharmacy, enduring several disappointments only because of the convenience & location. I have just experienced another disappointment and being lied to over the phone. A Rx was called in on 2/25/23 and as usual I waited for the text to come that it was ready for pick up or delivery. Since it never came I called to inquire yesterday, 3/2. After being put on hold forever I was told that a text was sent to me on 2/27. After fully disputing that because there was no text, I was complimented on how I always respond afterwards & come get the Rx or ask for delivery. I was then told that the text "did not go thru" and in fact was not sent to me. Well I wanted the Rx delivered since I had been waiting so long. Now there's no delivery on Thursday and I could not get it today. This afternoon I called to see when it would be delivered and was told, "after 6 pm today." I inquired about earlier since there was no delivery yesterday and was told "we had delivery yesterday, let me see what happened." I'm done! I should have been last year when I was asked to have a credit card on file for the $5 delivery fee. It's FREE DELIVER! I was immediately called back to tell me about the $60 copay. It was so frustrating to inform AGAIN that I have a primary AND secondary insurance and I have no copay. I've also had another person's Rx delivered to my house before then had a driver to come back 2 days later inquiring about the delivery. Yep, the worst!! And let's not forget the reported "Adult/child Covid vaccine debacle. read more

I transferred both my husband's and my prescriptions from my local Walgreens Pharmacy because I received a card in the mail which offered free delivery. Inasmuch as I am disabled and Walgreens could never coordinate the timing for RX pick-up, I was making frequent trips to their drive-through window, often just one day apart. Since using KC, the deliveries are always very timely. the Pharmacist is absolutely the most caring and responsive person I've ever met, and the rest of the staff are thorough and efficient. I get a phone call if there is any delay in filling or delivering my medications. My current delivery person always calls me 10 minutes out so that I can come downstairs on my stairlift and be there to answer the door. I cannot recommend them more highly! I will never do business again with another pharmacy unless I am forced to! read more

The WORST. Didn't accept my insurance, so charged over $124 for a one month supply. Found a new pharmacist; have to travel a bit farther, but paying $84 for a three month supply, vice 3X that much for a one month. Shop around. Other pharmacies will accept your insurance, even a compound. read more

Went there today 5/10 to see if they had a prescription in stock because when I called I was on hold for 1 hour. I looked at the hours on the website and listened to the message when I called and they both said they are opened on Sunday's from 11am-2pm. When I got to the pharmacy the doors were locked but of course the hours on the door said "Open Sunday 11am-2pm". If you are going to be closed on a specific day, please at least update your phones your website so you don't have your customers looking crazy. There were elderly and disabled people parked outside your store today wondering how they were going to get their prescriptions. Very unprofessional. read more

The owner of this pharmacy is very compassionate and non-judgemental. If, for instance, you're a chronic pain patient on various pain meds, she will order the brand you like and discuss any concerns with you without treating you like a goddamn junkie (like the Rite-Aids of the world). A pharmacist doing their job to provide you prescription medication and doing it well...imagine that! (Note: The only reason why I docked one star was because I dealt with the owner's staff today and they were pretty stand-offish and didn't communicate as well as she did.) read more

Yesterday, KC was suppose to deliver pain meds for my MIL who just came home for hospice care. Initially they were to be delivered around 3 or 4pm which was pushed back to 6. THEY DID NOT SHOW UP NOR DID THEY CALL. She received morphine from CVS at 9:30 which was inadequate for her needs. For 9 hours a 94yo woman in excruciating pain from multiple organ failure was allowed to suffer for 9 hours read more

Double check your receipts before leaving--this pharmacy has overcharged me by over $100 (when I bought 120 days worth of medication without insurance) and then refused to correct the error by claiming that the medication price fluctuated based on the container number it came in. I didn't realize their mistake until I purchased a 30 day supply (again, without insurance) and compared receipts. read more

Kc is a very friendly pharmacy. They go out of their way to help. They don't always have what you need in stock but usually get it the next day and that's alright as long as its not Friday and you remembered to order the refill early so you are not out. read more

As a loyal customer, I am puzzled by these reviews because this pharmacy has gone above & beyond every expectation I have for ANY business. I once had to leave on an emergency trip for a death in the family & the pharmacists waited over an HOUR past closing for me to navigate rush hour traffic and get to the store to pick up a relatively hard to find medication that I absolutely needed and would have run out of during my travels. They have ALWAYS worked with me on costs & treat me like family. read more

This place is terrible. They couldn't even handle the most simple transaction. I went there late afternoon on Friday to rent a wheelchair for my grandma over the weekend. I didn't care to examine the wheelchair before I left. Visually, it looked to be in good condition. It turned out that the wheelchair didn't have footrests installed. How can you offer a wheelchair without footrests??? By this time we were already in Baltimore and couldn't come back to exchange. We called them and told them that the footrests were missing, they said some people didn't want to have footrests installed. REALLY??? Footrests SHOULD NOT be an option that people have to ask for! I went back to return the wheelchair late Monday and complained about the footrests. They said they'll give me some discounts for the inconvenience. They charged me for 3 days instead of 4. Since I rented the wheelchair late Friday and returned it on late Monday, that's actually 3 days. At that point I was too upset and didn't want to be there any longer, I just paid for it and got out. I'm allergic to bad services. I would get sick if I stayed longer. Anyhow the point is if the pharmacy couldn't handle a simple transaction like renting a wheelchair, then how can anybody trust them to handle the medical transactions? I had used this pharmacy occasionally because it's near my doctor's office....but I won't go there again. My 82 year old husband went to buy a walker, and I told him to show my federal BCBS, and also has Medicare card. They told him "your insurance won't pay for this", and charged him $94. When I went in to investigate, the charge was because they are out of network and apparently don't accept Medicare - ok, but did they explain that to my husband, and let him decide whether to proceed or try an in-network pharmacy? No. Then I had to beg - and eventually insist - that they give me an invoice to file the danged claim myself. No doubt about it, they took advantage of a good-natured elderly customer who didn't know better. I talked with the staff and manager, and told them that although did nothing illegal, they did something WRONG. I will never go in there again, and any trust is gone. read more
