His belief is simple: we don't work with healthy people, we work with the sick and hurt and older people and we need to accommodate them. Opened 7 days a week and easy to get to. Purchased a transport wheelchair that had to be light enough for my mother to be able to put it in the car. Absolutely got it right!

I was very satisfied with my experience renting a mobility scooter from JK Medical Supplies. I…read morerecommend them if you are looking for such a rental in the extended D.C. area. I rented mine directly from the shop on Edsall Rd., but if you plan ahead, they will deliver the scooter to you and they offer a 24/7 service to help with issues that arise. I did not have any issues, so I cannot directly confirm how that works. My family decided at the last minute that one of our adults would be better off with a mobility scooter because her health issues make any walking tour a strain. The first place I called did not answer and wanted me to leave a message. I didn't have time to wait around for a callback, so I kept trying. I feel so lucky that the second call I made was to JK Medical Supplies! They were so helpful and so nice and knowledgeable. They even gave us ideas about activities in the area that we could do. The scooter they rented to us is a Vive 3-wheel. They made sure that it was the right size for our needs and gave us a demo of how to operate and transport the scooter. The scooter was in excellent condition and it worked well for us. In addition to concrete scootering, we took it on a day hike trail in the Shenandoah Valley. We checked with the visitor center for scooter-friendly hikes. The trails there are smooth enough, but we had to turn around when we got to the uneven rocky area with the obvious horse (ahem) trail. As far as the scooter itself, I would say the 3-wheel is excellent for touring in D.C. and flat, civilized areas, but if you want more adventure with the rocks and the horses, you'll definitely want to ask them for a more rugged 4-wheel with higher clearance and more lateral stability. I spent some time talking to them about their business and they claim that they are often called by a hotel concierge to remedy a delivery issue from less reliable rental companies (I thought about that company that didn't even answer the phone). They sound very dedicated to customer service. I did not need anything above and beyond, like middle-of-the-night service or delivery, but I did see firsthand how customer-friendly they are. It is very hard to find good customer service, but JK Medical shines in that regard. They also claim to personally research each product the sell/rent. They have a lot more than scooters. Our family member had a big smile on her face and laughed at being able to leave the rest of us in the dust, for once. It was a big contrast to what we usually deal with: a grumpy, droopy, sad face. Thank you JK Medical for making our visit to Virginia and D.C. a lot less strenuous and a lot more fun for our family!

Under one roof, the Driver Rehabilitation Center for Excellence (DRCE) will do a full driving evaluation of someone who is disabled but wants the freedom and mobility of driving restored to their life. DRCE provides a comprehensive program to evaluate whether the person is capable of driving, designs a system to get them back on the road and modifies vehicles in their state of the art shop to accommodate special needs. In the past therapists working with the disabled and vehicle modifiers adapting vehicles for the disabled worked in different silos and talked past one another. DRCE integrates the entire process. Not only does DRCE service wounded warriors and other disabled persons wishing to get back on the road, they also provide independent driver evaluations for senior citizens. In my case, my wife and I wanted to provide other family members assurance that a senior family member was still capable of driving locally to familiar locations during the day. DRCE put this senior family member through a series of mental agility, coordination and on the road evaluations then delivered a comprehensive report on this persons ability to drive. The two co-founders, Josh and Tammy, are on site you work with them during the evaluation. Highly recommended for anyone who is disabled and wants to drive again or who wants to evaluate the driving capabilities of a senior family member.

You can now choose to get the mile long receipts, or an email. Okay think no receipt is an option at self checkout. Staff here are polite. It is a clean and organized location also. CVS is kind of tricky, as they can be expensive or have great sales. One area they generally do well is aspirin, along with allergy OTC's. Combining a coupon can help more. This is how to win the retail game.

The lady pulled his information up, and saw his prescriptions. She then said she doesn't feel comfortable selling him syringes. He asked why, and she said it's because you use a pen. My husband then asked if his pen is broken, how can he inject the insulin without a syringe? She said, "Well, I don't feel comfortable giving you syringes. All I'm allowed to sell you are pen needles". He asked what are pen needles supposed to accomplish if the pen is broken, and she repeated, "I don't feel comfortable selling you syringes". He thought things might have changed with buying them, but we went to another CVS and he was able to get a box of syringes with no issues. It seems this CVS does this a lot. I've read the reviews and I see others have had the same problem. I wanted him to drive back, show them the box, and tell them how he felt because of the way he was treated, but he didn't. That situation made me so mad.
