CVS Pharmacy - The store - Drugstores Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

I am not sure what changed in the past six months, it has seriously impacted, and not in a good way, the store safety, signage, and service. Thank god pharmacy is still up to par, otherwise I'd likely never stop at this store. For example, today they have out signs of 50% off "selected items only". This signs are not visually anchored to any specific items or isle section. Logically these are probably for all holiday items, but consumer can't know until and if they take products to get scanned Another example, they were putting up new displays and signage for coming holidays except that all these papers and boards, some as large as 3feet long, were on the floor. No one was near them doing any work nor ensuring customers would not step on them or slip. Overall, the store feels like a decent quality pharmacy with a bad dollar tree retail store. read more

CVS Website shows this is a 24 hour store... after 35 minute drive at 2am, it is not a 24 hour store. Very misleading.

Only downside to this store is it doesn't have a drive through. Otherwise it is similar to most CVS stores in the area.

The Minute Clinic at 13031 Lee-jackson Highway is horrible. The pharmacist is the absolute worst. Cut me off multiple times while I was trying to explain what the issue was. Had ZERO bed side manner. I walked out in the middle of the appointment because it was obvious she could care less about actually the patients. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Just putting in a good review because I went in, had a good experience with the pharmacy, and left. The phone bot was not the best, once I spoke with staff it was an easy time and got what I needed. I didn't get a text when my prescription was ready, but that was nobody's fault because they had an old number; once we got that updated (which again was not a hassle), I'm set. read more

The medicine I needed was not in stock at this location. So, I was sent to a second CVS but when I got to the alternative location the medicine was not ready as the first location did not release it. So, I had to go back to the first one and they were on lunch break already. I instead went to Costco where they filled it under 15 minutes. Guess where I will fill my prescriptions going forward. today that's Feb,27,2025 I visited cvs at 11003 LeeHighway Fairfax va, I had to pick medications for my wife from pharmacy, a female pharmist named Aroma on payment teceipt, I gave her my wife DMV, ID card, she says I can't read her first name, I suggested her if you have a visibility problem use reading glasses, any how I spelled first name of my wife for her convenience, can you imagine she cannot read a name clearly printed on my wife's DMV issued Id, how is she capable of doing such a high sensitive job where her minor error can be fatal, female pharmist named Aroma was an Asian, may be Chinese,Korean, Vietnamese, with due apologies I have no business with her race, it's just for other customers that they need to be cautious while dealing especially with this lady, if she cannot read a clients name on a state issued ID, due to her poor visibility or her poor English, how can she read clients prescriptions,it's a big, from this female pharmist, why cvs hired these type of cheap pharmist, who cannot read a clients name on an ID, may be cvs hired this type of pharmist on a cheap salary, my advice to customers is when you go to this location and unfortunately you are dealing,or picking your medications from this pharmist which I explained in details be extremely careful, as she has a visibility or English language problem, and cvs management needs to have her eyesight testing so that she needs to use glasses while at this complicated job ,or learn better English read more

The WORST pharmacist staff ever. AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU HAVE AN UNGODLY AMOUNT OF PATIENCE. They will tell you to "just wait" and you'll be waiting for 15 mins while they do other things (no they aren't helping other customers, they do this even if you're the only one there). read more

My husband suspected he had the flu, knowing that the sooner he could get diagnosed, the better the chance he would be able to started on Tamiflu. He went into the pharmacy at 6:45 PM. The woman at the entrance told him that he couldn't be seen because she had already shutdown her computer for the night. The clinic closed at 7. If you say you are open until 7, that should mean that you see patients until 7. On a positive note, they sent him to Patient first and he got amazing service, including getting his prescription right there. Will definitely consider Patient First over CVS minute clinic in the future. read more

Came back yesterday and I'm not sure where they find these morons to work here. Again, presented a coupon. He couldn't find it in the system. I showed it to him and he still couldn't find it. Then I gave him a gift card and he couldn't scan it. Mean while there are about 6 people waiting. I said screw it, I'll go target and won't ever come back. I was a call for 26 minutes, holding to speak with someone. First their was an automatic queue hold for about 5 minutes, then a representative picks up and says "could be on a hold for a moment?. I am not sure if moment has been redefined to be near eternity. Unreal. Just like the representative's time, our time is important as well. As basic courtesy Least one can do is let the customer know if it is going to a rather long wait, so the customer can decide if they want to hang on or call back. I did think of hanging a few times but then didn't want to go through it all over again. As I had waited so long I figured might as well wait a little bit more. I eventually gave up obviously. Average CVS, nothing special about this place. The good thing is that it opens 24 hours. I usually come here for the pharmacy and they are very friendly. One of the workers actually applied a coupon to my medication so I saved about $15 every month. I go at odd times of the day so it's either about 11 am or 10 pm so I don't run into a long line at the pharmacy. There has been days though, where I have waited 20-25 minutes because people in front of me are slow. The only time I look around the store is after I pick up my prescription and I receive my 30 feet coupon receipt. Then I try to use all those coupons at once especially if I have some extra bucks. It's usually stocked and I've never had a problem finding anything since it's usually clean. read more

I recently switched my meds from CVS to Costco. This CVS would always fill my prescriptions without me asking, even though I was not on auto refill. I kept asking them not to auto refill, but they did it anyway. Can't follow instructions?? As for the Minute Clinic, they did a decent job on my 2 visits. After waiting for more than 10 minutes to talk to the Pharmacist, a guy took my call and he came across as if he did not want to be bothered my concerns. One of the questions he asked me back was "if I was taking a medicine for the first time", instead of attempting to provide me with correct and complete information. For routine medicines, the place seems to work ok. If you run into a situation a bit outside of normal, expect generally disinterested, unhelpful and rude pharmacy staff. They make claims and provide non-actionable information and point fingers at someone else like - well it's not their fault, it is the insurance etc. Do not expect clear and concise information. Expect random auto phone calls from CVS that sound generic in nature or cut half way through. Expect long waits. Expect random filling of prescriptions that you don't need and calls about that. Expect non-filling of prescriptions when you would expect those would be filled, and then you have to wait in person. The place also looks old and has a general third world atmosphere to it. read more

Awesome customer service. The pharmacy emoloyees are really friendly. You can tell they enjoy their jobs because they seem very happy doing it. They are multi-tasking ninjas. One is on the phone trying battling with the insurance company while ringing up my prescription. Another is entering a prescription while on the phone battling another insurance company while another was explaining to a obviously CRAZY customer why they can't sell their pharmacy smocks. Or as the crazy person called it "pharmashee schmockss." The line was long so it was all very entertaining. They got us all out fast though. read more

This place is almost laughably bad. I have never been to the pharmacy when there hasn't been delay after delay, meaning that the wait for a simple prescription is never less than 45 minutes once you are in the store. They do not fill prescriptions when they are called in. You have to actually go to the store and ask for your prescription. Then they begin processing it. They always estimate that it will take ten minutes but it won't. Despite their poor customer service (they always seem annoyed that they have customers), they are generally packed. Tonight the Giant next door didn't have it, so they called CVS and said that I was on my way. I went to CVS and of course they had yet to fill it. They said that it would be ready in ten minutes. I waited five minutes and then left to pick up a card at the Hallmark store next door. Ten minutes later I stopped back to pick it up and of course it hadn't even been processed. I was told that they needed updated insurance information (even though this could have been done when I first checked in with them) and then she would "rush" the order. "Ten minutes" she said. As they always say. Fifty minutes later I received a call that the prescription was ready. The staff in the store has generally been awful, too, except for one friendly young man in the photo department. My husband said that this has been changing. But I will never forget the time that I went there a few years ago and discovered that I wasn't charged the sale price for an item. When I told the cashier, she angrily asked me to show her where I saw that price. I showed her the sign near the item, and she ripped it off and said that it wasn't on sale anymore and I would have to pay the full price. Okay. That generally isn't how stores handle that kind of situation, but this CVS is special that way. Unfortunately, I live a block from this store. I still avoid it as much as I can. I should add that I have had a positive experience getting a flu shot at the Minute Clinic, although when I went there once to see if I had strep throat I never heard back, even though I had been told that I would hear back either way. At least the nurse was friendly both times, which is more than I can say for the pharmacy staff. read more

Brought in a 30% coupon with my CVS card. It can only be used on reg. priced merchandise. I know this. The cashier didn't know how to apply the coupons to my regular priced items so she just guesstimated $4.00. Ridiculous. My total of regular priced items was $21.77. Not a whiz when it comes to math but an even $4 isn't 30% off! I didn't have time to correct her as I was told by another clerk that a woman backed up into my parked car... Fun night. I went last night and I don't know if it was dumb luck on the time I got there (after work at 6:30) but after I signed in there was one person ahead of me I may of waited 10 minutes. I saw Dr. Abdi she kind, helpful, and very reassuring. PS the only reason for 4/5 I didn't have my prescription credit card but had the information on my phone the pharmacy wouldn't let me use it. I have a love-hate relationship with this pharmacy. They are either very good or infuriating. There is not much middle ground.

Love that the store and pharmacy are open 24/7. The automated phone refill system works perfectly, they always seem to have prescriptions in-stock, and the store has a good selection. Cons: Once there's a line (at the front or the pharmacy), things definitely move slowly. They're also pretty hit or miss with electronic prescriptions from doctors' offices - about 30-40% of the prescriptions my doctor sends electronically have to be resubmitted (and I have to come back unless I thought to call and check), which is really a pain when you're sick and coming to the pharmacy straight from a doctor's appointment. The problem is on CVS's end - I've never had an issue with the scripts my doctor sends electronically to Target, but for things I want the closest or 24-hour pharmacy for (antibiotics when I'm sick and migraine meds) I use CVS. This last time they checked twice (I called a few days apart) and had no record of a script being sent over, so my doctor re-sent it, I picked it up, and a week later I got a call about the original request having been filled. read more

Nothing particularly great or bad about this CVS. It's close to our house and convenient. If it's slow, it takes them a long time to get to the counter to wait on you, but other than that, there's not much to say about the place. There is always a long line to pick up prescriptions here so I just try to go during slow times. read more

The pharmacy is terrible! The main pharmacist thinks she over rides my dr!! My Doctor prescribed my meds and she tells me I'm "pharmacy shopping" because they CVS is double the price of my meds anywhere else..she accused me of Pharmacy shopping to my HUSBAND, not me! It was time to fill my meds and you can see on my record, it's a free county and if another pharmacy is cheaper and I save $150 a month...I'm going to save my money. The pharmacist told my husband if I WENT to another pharmacy she would refuse to fill my meds!! Really, I see one dr for 10 years..if I was dr shopping and taking narcotics then I would understand but that's not the case! Stay away, she should've been a dr not the one to fill it if she wants power...the little power she does have she uses, and embarrassed my husband in front of everyone who could hear her loud, rude self. read more

We come here so often, just for beauty supplies and the pharmacy. The pharmacy is SO good about getting your prescription done for you the time they promised (and if anything they finish way before), while the lady who runs the beauty section is the most wonderful, helpful, selfless, caring and hardworking lady ever. I continue to be impressed with this particular pharmacy. They've increased their staff who are friendly, knowledgeable, polite, and professional. When I have questions they go out of their way to answer them. They try to explain as much information as possible about each medicine. They're very good understanding children's medicine and I find I rely on them frequently for advice with over-the-counter medicine. read more

There's nothing really special about this CVS, besides being a convenient location for me. But it gets the job done. It is clean and usually well stocked, but be prepared to WAIT when picking up prescriptions, at any point in the day. I have a weird split-shift schedule which allows me to run errands during the day while most people are working. It is still very rare for me to get in & out with my prescriptions in less than 15-20 minutes. I think the best thing about this place is that it is 24 hours. read more

Yet everyone who thinks this CVS is horrid, gave it a 3 or 4 stars...Gad!!! This CVS is awful. They fill the newest prescription first and not the older prescription and 4 months later, you don't have any refills because they fill it twice in the same month charged the insurance company for it but only give it to you once. They you have to call your doctor to send the prescription in, which he does electronically and then they tell you they didn't get it while you know he sent it in because you were there when he sent it electronically. This is the worst CVS I have ever been to and in fact I'm getting ready to send all my prescription to a different CVS about three blocks down the street and see if they are any better. Their wait time is never 15 minutes, it's more like an hour any time you go there. You'd have better luck dropping it off and then go get gas, a little food, call a few bill collectors, and then come back and hopefully your prescription will be ready 4 hours later. REVIEW FOR MINUTE CLINIC AND PHARMACY I came here on a Saturday after work because I had a bad cough and congestion. There were a few people ahead of me waiting for flu shots. While I was waiting some more people came and signed in for flu shots and got really nasty with the woman running the clinic when she explained there was a wait. She was very polite and explained that some people were there because they were sick, not to get shots. Once I was seen she was very kind and thorough even though one of the crazy flu shot people kept banging on the door trying to hurry her up. I seriously came close to opening the door and coughing in his general direction. She sent my prescriptions over to the pharmacy while I was still in the clinic and they were ready for me in less than 10 minutes. I would recommend the Minute Clinic to all my friends, especially on a weekend when you can't get to your PCP. My overall experience was positive, with the exception of the rude flu shot man, but I'm sure he's rude no matter where he is. :) read more

The positive aspect of this CVS is that it is open 24-7 so when you need some cough medicine at 3am you know where to go. Also, the pharmacy is usually well staffed by a team of young pharmacists who work quickly to get out RX's as fast as possible. Today was supposed to begin with a bike ride from Arlington to Logan Circle to Takoma Park, but the little boy has an ear infection, so plans changed. Doctor is closed on Sunday, but CVS has this faux medical thingamabob called Minute Clinic where you can be seen by a nurse practicioner. We got there 20 minutes before opening, and wound up fifth in line. Fifth doesn't sound so bad except it equates to a one hour wait in a drug store with a 3 year old. The nurses are really friendly with kids though, and the positive thing is that you don't have to stop somewhere else to pick up meds since you're already in the drugstore. The store itself seems a little dated. One of the hanging aisle signs beckons you with the call of "Audio/Video Tape", as though they haven't updated the store since 1988. It's in the Greenbriar Shopping Center, so if your prescription is going to take awhile you can have a drink at Dogfish Head. read more

The lady behind the photo counter is wonderful but this review is for their Kodak photo printing equipment. the equipment sucks and takes poor scans and doesn't allow you the versatility to print pictures in the sizes and magnification that you want. their old equipment was much better. the staff is very friendly though read more

Terrible CVS. Most of the employees cannot read / understand coupons and they are slow as anything. Lines are ALWAYS backed up when I'm there - it's irritating. The managers are also jerks when cashiers call up to ask a question. It's at a convenient location -- i'll give it a star for that. It is a typical CVS but is typically busier due to the fact that it's a 24 hour pharmacy. The 24 hour pharmacies stock medicines that other CVS stores can't. The pharmacy staff is very knowledgable & nice. We particularly like the 2 sister pharmacists, Linh & Trinh. They know us by name & face and always make sure they have my husband's meds in stock. They work with his docs and pay close attention to possible interactions. read more
