Do NOT bring photos here to be developed. I brought a camera here last month, followed the instructions for mailing, and never heard back. When I dropped off the camera I mentioned the seal on the bag was not great and was told it would be reinforced. I didn't hear back for weeks and stopped by a few times to inquire about possible delays and was given different information by every employee I spoke with. I was finally able to speak with an associate on the phone who was extremely helpful and worked hard to inquire what happened to my photos. It turns out that the bag was not sealed and showed up to the photo facility empty. I'm very appreciative of her hard work getting to the bottom of what happened, but frustrated because my photos were lost due to an issue that I asked another employee about and was told would not be an issue. At this point I know there isn't anything that can be done, but I hope this prevents this loss from happening to anyone else, as these photos can never be replaced. read more

THE WORST CVS IN THE DMV. staff is incredibly rude, if you call they will let the phone ring on and on just to pick it up and hang up on you. 0/10. Pharmacy staff both clearly hates their jobs, and are awful at it. In the 20 minutes I was there, every single person got sent to consultation. Half the people that got sent to consultation got told something along the lines of "I don't know, maybe call someone about that", and that came after all running around asking each other the same questions multiple times. The minute clinic doctor, Tammy Nguyen, NP has messed up prescriptions multiple times, even writing random unrelated prescriptions that mess up pick up dates for other absolutely necessary prescriptions. When trying to get that worked out, the pharmacy technician, Mariah, didn't even know that Nguyen worked there, and was VERY rude about everything. She started off incredibly rude and standoffish, simply saying "no" to everything, when the answer is ultimately yes. I hope those employees find jobs elsewhere, where they don't try and take their own frustrations out on people who they have the power to ruin their medical lives with. read more

There are many reviews on here about how rude the Monroe Avenue pharmacy staff can be. That should be your warning about this CVS. For the past few years especially, surliness is the rule, especially if you have to go to the consultations window. At a recent visit, I was treated with condescension, borderline mocking, and utter disrespect. It was stunning behavior. I recommend avoiding this CVS at all cost. There are plenty of other pharmacies in the area, including CVS pharmacies, that employ pleasant, competent, and professional people. After being an off and on customer at the Monroe Avenue store for over 20 years, I won't be back. read more

Covid-19 Vaccination Site Review-- I visited this location for the first time today for my prescheduled vaccination appointment and had a very pleasant experience. Everyone I encountered had a smile on their face and took the time to greet me even if it was just in passing. They were very organized and I was able to get checked in and in the line well before my scheduled time. They have multiple rooms they're using for these appts, so the line moved fairly quickly (and this was during the lunch hour). They also had a good amount of chairs in the waiting area for after your appt-- I'm assuming it's because they are a Minute Clinic location! Which also made me feel even more comfortable in case I passed out or something LOL. I'm very grateful to have had such a great experience in such weird times. The lady at the cash register even asked me if I was feeling okay after my appointment! I want to remind everyone that our healthcare workers and retail workers are under a lot of stress and pressure right now, so please be kind. I look forward to coming back next month for my second dose. read more

Really horrible customer service. The pharmacy staff are so unkind and clearly hate their jobs

0/0 starts. When in to get my medicine. It was not ready and I was walking around to look for items I needed. Last starts profiling me and looking around every corner I was in when I was trying to make an online order while I waited for my prescriptions. The intercom turns on and signals to go the cash register to pay for your items. Mind you she had helped me get something and asked me if I was ready to check out and I let her know that I was not done. The intercom goes off again. Mind you there is barely anyone at the store and the only people there were headed towards the pharmacy and they had security go up to the front. Been coming here for years just so this lady comes to profile me as a thief. This is disappointing. Such a terrible service overall, no interactions with customers, only when they are headed towards the cashier. This was just now around 10-11am, I never bothered to ask for the manager that was at the store but she was wearing blue pants with a mustard color like shirt. Probably Filipina and had glasses. read more

[Sorry for the length of this review.] This pharmacy will never win any awards for reliability or customer service; the employees are sullen and act overworked. But most days, I am able to accomplish what I'm trying to do. Today, however, was not one of those days. I made an appointment for a booster on the CVS website with their Minute Clinic (MC), arrived early, and received a text that instructed me to check in at the MC kiosk with the code in the text. I did so, and sat and waited. After a few minutes, an employee from the MC approached me and asked what I was doing there. I said I was there for a booster. The gentleman condescendingly implied that I didn't read the text correctly and that I was supposed to check in at the pharmacy. The text VERY CLEARLY said to check in at the MC kiosk. But, as instructed, I walked over the pharmacy and waited for about 10 minutes, then was asked what I needed. I said a booster, and that I had tried to check in at the MC kiosk but was told that was wrong and that I needed to check in at the pharmacy. The pharmacy employee rolled her eyes, said no, you need to check in at the MC kiosk. I said I did, but they sent me to her. She shrugged and walked away from me. So I went back to the MC, and told my story to another MC employee. She said no, I needed to go back to the pharmacy. I said they really don't want me there and they sent me to her. She then walked me over to the pharmacy and told the pharmacy employee that I needed a booster. That employee said I will have to make an appointment on the CVS website. I said, "That's what I did!" They said, no, you made an appointment at the Minute Clinic, we don't take walk-ins, and you need to make an appointment online for the pharmacy. My appointment was for 0930. It was now 1000. I left the store without getting my booster. FAIL read more

Hello, I have a couple diagnoses that can be debilitating with one, potentially life-threatening. These seemingly tireless employees/ technicians/ professionals have thankless roles answering calls and dealing with ingratiating or just plain thoughtless "hurried" customers whose precious time is somehow more important than that of the rest of the people requiring the same service. Let's not forget of the staff's time either. I say kudos to all the time the staff here have gone the extra mile to do their best for to get me the drugs which make my life as normal and seamless as possible. The quality of service at this CVS has hit a new low. Mistakes are made by the techs on almost all of my prescriptions. I was treated rudely by the pharmacist on duty and ignored by the staff for an hour waiting to talk to the pharmacist. The pharmacy is under staffed, has poor procedures, and disorganized. I believe this pharmacy is untrusted worthy and dangerous to deal with. It is sad because I have been coming to the pharmacy for over 15 years. However the trust and dependability of the pharmacy does not existing. read more

It's a pretty average CVS, in my opinion. Nothing spectacular, but nothing particularly awful about this place either. Then again, I just come here for late night snacks and beverages and miscellaneous goods. I don't pick up prescriptions or use the pharmacy at all. It's in a good location, right next to a Giant store. Which means there's a big lot for you to park in, with plenty of parking all the time. A few stores down, there's also a Walgreens, so if you're really pressed to find some drug store related item and it's not at CVS, it'll most likely be at Walgreens. That being said, I do believe that the Walgreens has much better stock than the CVS does, at somewhat better prices. In my opinion, this CVS always feels understocked. The shelves are always never empty, but it always reminds me of how a store looks after a big clearance sale. There are things on the shelves, but they never look quite full. Same goes for the drink selection and frozen foods. (Speaking of drinks, their beer selection is abysmal. Go to Giant instead. And they don't carry diet Arnold Palmers. Go to Walgreens for that.) However, I have never once had an issue with any of the employees working here. They are somewhat incapable of answering my questions ("Where is this item located?" "Do you carry this item?") but I give them all an A+ for effort because they always try to get me my answer. They're also really nice when it comes to returns. They let me do a return past the return date on my receipt without any issues. (They just rung it up as a return without a receipt so I ended up getting store credit for it. Should have stayed in DC but needed to do some errands around this part of Alexandria. It was a trip that was suppose to be quick but turned into an hour of waiting. Everything in the store was nice and easy to find. However, staff was rude or at least seemed passive towards everyone. Unprofessional. Took metro to get here but was not worth the trip. I just needed 1 item and she walked me back to it and even pointed out all the options. She saved me 10-minutes at least if I was on my own trying to find this one small item. I use to love CVS pharmacy but not after today I brought in two prescriptions and David who never greets one friendly said Yes not may I help You or even hello which we're use too. Dr. Elkas my gyno/ oncologist wrote 2 prescriptions one being a powder . David said the ink didn't match ??? He said to my husband it's illegal to have a prescription written this way , really he of course denies it now . I'm 64 years old I don't write on prescriptions and I was there when the Dr. wrote it believe me Dr. Elkas is one excellent Dr. and he was the only one that touched the prescription . I spoke to Annabelle the pharmacist who knows I'm in there often but I guess she couldn't disagree with him she said nothing . I felt I was accused of doing something with My prescription and also my husband being profiled . I will never use that CVS , David also looks like one miserable employee . Reviewing several features of the store: Photo: The main guy in charge of the photo lab is awesome. He's always friendly and helpful and is quick to turn around any photo orders. I only use his CVS for photos now because the Potomac Yards Target has majorly dropped the ball on several occasions. Minute Clinic: Totally Awesome! I was in and out in about 15 minutes, and 10 minutes after that the pharmacy had my prescription waiting. I had no idea it could be so easy. And the Nurse Practitioner who took care of me was friendly and knowledgeable. Everything else - it seems like this CVS is always busy restocking their shelves, which gets in my way when they're taking up entire aisles. Other than that, no complaints. It's only a CVS, after all. read more

My partner and I signed up to do a rapid Covid test here prior to travel (neither of us is ill). It was listed on the website as drive thru testing but they were doing it inside a trailer with no ventilation and we didn't feel safe. We opted to do our swabs outside . We were told doing it in our car was a HIPAA violation (which it isn't, as it's a widely done method of testing .) The website needs to be clearly updated to say this isn't a drive thru or curbside test. It is a health risk to have people who are potentially sick with Covid unmask in a small, non ventilated trailer , especially if it is not properly sanitized between guests (which it wasn't , as all of the appointments were scheduled back to back.) we also waited a while before anyone even came to our car and approached us about testing. We were told we should've "knocked on the trailer door". I am not usually one to leave scathing reviews, but this was a disorganized process, not accurately described on the website that left us feeling unsafe. If you want a Covid test of any kind done-go elsewhere, preferably an actual medical setting or open air tent. read more

The CVS Pharmacy on Monroe Avenue has the best pharmacy staff I have ever experienced. In particular, Alex, in the pharmacy is incredibly knowledgeable and so very helpful. When my son left his dop kit on an Amtrak train with important medication in it, Alex jumped into help! He got us the Rx we needed in record time, even calling the insurance company to explain the situation. He is top notch and should be commended for his professionalism. Thank you Alex! read more

This rating is for the pharmacy--there are a few really nice staff members, and I've noticed that they've improved lately, but my interactions with this group--especially the head pharmacist--have been disastrous. Each month, I dread having to pick up my prescription. In the past, they have lost prescriptions, failed to provide accurate information (like when there is a generic available), and worst of all, the head pharmacist has been IMMENSELY rude to other customers, her staff and me--almost every time I see her. Fill your prescriptions elsewhere. As for the "store" component of this CVS, the staff is nice, and well, you know CVS! ExtraCare all the way, baby! read more

Just like the 2 star expression says "Meh. I've experienced better." I mean its an ok place to go I guess. The service is meh. I mean they always have lines due to them not having enough people at the register. Nothing really exciting about the place, but also not bad enough for me not to go back. Prices can be OUTRAGEOUS if you don't have a CVS card!. Make sure to grab one of those to take advantage of the deals. Sometimes you can even grab some stuff for free! The employees here are nice enough (though it always seems understaffed) but the pharmacy is kind of a mess. They've lied to me several times about the availability of medication, lost prescriptions, forgotten to fill things, and overall failed to generate any trust. Honestly, I think they're just too busy to look things up or manage any kind of qualify control. The breaking point for me was the repeated substitution of one medication for another, without an explanation or warning - even when I specifically mentioned that I thought there had been a mistake. They were generic equivalents, so they can substitute - but I don't know that if they don't tell me they've done it. The pharmacist was really rude when I questioned him about it, so I transferred all of my prescriptions to another pharmacy. Anyway, I don't have problem going in for OTC medication or sundries but I will never use their pharmacy again. A pharmacist that doesn't care enough to tell me when he's unilaterally changing my medication and lies to me about whether medications are available is probably not making my health a priority. I'll spend my dollars with a pharmacist who cares. read more

I had COVID- 19 test appointment on March 29th at 5:40pm.I was on time and I have informed to the nurse that I'm traveling Out of the united State.So I need my Covid-19 test report. Then she did helped though out the test and I have submitted covid -19 test kit. Then after 30 minutes somebody Called me from CVS and told that your report are ready. I was surprised because they said my report is ready within 30 minute.I'm glad that report was a negative but it wasn't appropriate. I already inform that I'm traveling i need my propar COVID - 19 test . I don't know why they don't get that. they haven't mention RT PCR test. I don't know why? I went to the airport they check my COVID--19 test report. They literally said this report is not acceptable. i was overwhelmed. I don't know what to do they told Me you can't travel because my COVID-19 test report is not acceptable. they send me home they suggest me reschedule the flight ticket. It was so embarrassing moment .I think that PULETIC NEVENA is name of the person who did my COVID-19 test. I lost My time , lost my money .lost my flight everything fucked off. This not acceptable this not the service you should provide to public. I do wish the managers would better train the personnel. Today I helpd up a long line of people (right, no other cash registers open as usual) because the slide machine for the purchasers' card wasn't working. I tried three different credit/debit cards that I carry. The cashier who could not speak english thought it was my fault. I asked her repeated to swtich off the customer's slide and to manually enter the number and that the cards would work fine. She didn't understand this and then entered just the last four numbers. I told her that wouldn't work. She had to switch to MANUAL and then enter all the numbers on the card. Now the guy behind me is really angry and thinks this is all my doing because I am creating difficulties. FINALLY, we got a manager and she said "Oh this machine has been giving us troublle like this all day," to which I said "then please instruct your cashiers how to handle it. Do it manually (which we did and it worked fine as I had said); open a different cash register; mark that aisle "cash only ; no credit cards" but DO something so 20 people don't have to wait while you slide through every card you own in your wallet". Manager just said nothing and walked away. Cashier didn't apologize either. Will try to go elsewhere next time read more

This review is for the photo lab. If I could I would give them no stars at all, I would. It was a female that did my pictures. I took my film in and when it was returned it was ruined. I could not get any pictures out of my negatives. Even when I scanned them and tried to fix them in photoshop, I couldn't fix the pictures. There are watermarks all over the film, dust and a giant scratch line through the entire strip of pictures. Needless to say I will NEVER ever be going back here again for pictures. read more

I went to the Minute Clinic to get a strep test. Suffice it to say, the title is definitely a misnomer. I waited for almost an hour and the nurse practitioner had only helped two people--it did not seem like she was in any rush to get things done quickly (I mean, how long do flu shots and throat swabs take?). Furthermore, there is no receptionist, so there was no way I could find out how much everything would cost after insurance (or, for that matter, whether my insurance would cover anything). You're better off going to an urgent care. read more
