No stars is more accurate. Was told today my prescription (that I desperately needed) was ordered. I asked him to check another pharmacy so he looked in the computer and said there was one that MAY have it. I asked if he could call them and he said no. So I asked him for the number! Geez! Then I spent 15 mins in phone hell loop as you can only leave a message for a pharmacist now, you cannot be connected to one! Apparently, this is a new policy. So, I drove to the other location and the guy said he had to contact them as it was still in the other store's system. I wished him luck and I'll wait for his call that he can fill it. I called to check in on a prescription. The pharmacist validated my question by saying "yup" and then hung up on me. While I will say the ability to give positive customer service experience is important, it is also important to have the CVS corporation treat their team with respect and kindness. I went here because it is close to my home, but this CVS has literally the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Brought a prescription in at around 5:30 and was asked when I wanted to pick it up. As I asked what time the pharmacy closed, the tech or whomever barely look at me started shaking her head. She said no, tomorrow, we can't do it tonight. What? It closes at 8pm and I was there at 5:22. I am in pain and this is what I get? This news would have been easier to take with some kind of apology or at least an explanation, but this unsympathetic employee was handing out neither. First, whomever manages this joint needs to hire more pharmacists. As a former employee of a pharmacy I know what's involved. There should be no reason this could not have been done sooner unless you are woefully understaffed. Second, hire people in customer service who are actually interested in serving customers or, at a minimum, know how to treat people with respect and empathy. Some eye contact would be lovely too. Most people filling prescriptions are either sick or in pain and looking for help, not callous attitudes and ambivalence. Update: It's the next day at 12:30 pm and my prescription is still not ready! No apology, nothing. As if it's completely normal. Unacceptable! Why is this location still is business? It is so abysmally run! I have never seen worse. read more

I just stopped at this pharmacy to get my second shingles shot. The sign stated they accepted walk-ins for vaccinations. There was no one anywhere in sight of the pharmacy and when I asked for the vaccination the pharmacist looked across at me and the guy told me I had to have an appointment. I went online where it again stated no appointment needed or it let me make an appointment to walk in and have it done immediately. They denied my insurance for a Covid vaccine even though I have Medicare Parts A, B, and C (as well as retiree health care) and wanted to charge me $ 190.00 for the vaccination. The CVS pharmacist said that Medicare does not cover the new Covid vaccine. I went to a Safeway pharmacy and got the vaccination in 15 minutes. Safeway said that CVS should have accepted the Part B coverage. The pharmacists are not knowledgeable about insurance coverage and give out incorrect information to the detriment of customers. Customers should go to more reputable pharmacies like Safeway. read more

As of late I have been exploring Shirlington and Fairlington is the next step to that progression. I was driving one night, in a driving rain following a great meal and the GPS had me drive through Fairlington. I didn't realize this until I saw this beautiful Art Deco gem to my right and I was in the far right lane. The Art Deco nerd in me had me cross a lane speedily to make it into the parking lot without having or causing a fender bender. All ended well. Walking in, you may think that it is a regular ol CVS. It was clean as a whistle. Everything was in order and I snaked through the many aisle getting ready to earn some Extrabucks. I grabbed what I needed to get, I even bought a chimbo cactus with flowers glued on top. I love plants and Art Deco, what can I say. read more

I have had repeated issues with this pharmacy. Their customer service is horrible. They absolutely do not answer the phone EVER and they are always advising me that they are understaffed. This has been for months--fix it!! Hire more people! I end up driving over to the location to wait in a long line to answer my questions and then am told to come back the next day!!! One time I waited on hold for 25 minutes to get an answer and told the pharmacist when I arrived. She replied, "I don't care. I am the only person here and I really don't care anymore." I felt bad for her, but I absolutely cannot support this store anymore. Have also reported to the main customer service number as I am a long time customer of CVS and would like to see if they can send help. Meanwhile, I search for another pharmacy. read more

Go somewhere else. In fact, go to Walgreens! Anywhere but this location. It took me THREE DAYS to get a prescription filled. You cannot reach them on the phone, you will be on hold for hours, literally. When I finally went up there in person, with my prescription in hand (it had already been called in), there was a line. They prioritize people getting vaccinations first, which is fine, but there is only ONE person who can do shots and process insurance. If I wanted to get my insurance processed for my insurance, I would have to go back another day. I went back the next day, and still there was nobody who could process insurance, so I paid full price. One of my doctors said the pharmacist there hung up on her! If I could give it zero stars I would. The struggle is real. Whether you go in person or via telephone. This pharmacy NEVER answers the telephone and if they do it's after an extremely long wait and only to hang up/disconnect the call. They will not answer your call under any circumstances. Go there and they don't have anyone qualified working there. They change pharmacists constantly. No one has time for this level of unprofessionalism and incompetence especially not those who need to speak with a pharmacist and are in need of their medicine. read more

Jennifer, Pharmacist EXTREMELY unprofessional/rude. Did not allow me to say 3 words before talking over me/interrupting. This is the only pharmacy where I was given the wrong dose/prescription TWICE. I'm reading the other comments.. this rudeness appears to be a theme at this location. Just got off the phone with another CVS pharmacy (v. helpful, professional) who reviewed my account and verified that i was given the old, wrong dose in both April and May after my doctor increased the dose in March. So I received a double daily dose in March (correct) before reverting back to the old prescription in April and May (half the dose). The CVS Pharmacist at the other location was able to sort everything out in about 3 minutes and was PROFESSIONAL (thank you!) He also recommended changing locations due to shared safety concerns. Recommend BASIC interpersonal/customer service training and listening to ensure understanding/exactness. read more

The pharmacy is laughably, ridiculously, insanely slow. When they tell you "10 minutes" prepare to pitch a tent and stay for a while. They won't give you a reason why, of course, just that "they're busy," which leads one to wonder why "10 minutes" is the standard response when you ask how much longer it will be. Definitely concur with the other comments below about the rudeness of the pharmacy staff. Oy. I only recently started using this pharmacy (only because my doctor send my rx's here by accident). My first visit, the staff seemed annoyed that they had to fill my prescriptions and answer questions I had. Most recently, i totally put them out by making them run my prescriptions through both my insurances. The pharmacist was persistent in her position that my secondary insurance wouldn't change the cost so there was no need to run it, but I insisted she run it through my secondary. Surprise surprise, it lowered the cost. Clearly this staff needs some training in customer service. A little kindness goes a long way. I'll be transferring my prescriptions to another pharmacy. read more

I just called this CVS to find out if their photo center was operating due to all that is going on at the moment. I did not hear the response to my question when I then said, "Excuse me, I didn't hear what you said. Is it operating?" I was yelled at in a really rude manner. I then said that I was sorry for asking but I didn't need to be yelled at in that tone. However, I was never able to finish my sentence because the extremely rude lady hung up on me. If this is the way customers are normally treated, I would not recommend using this CVS. Others in the area are much more helpful and actually treat their customers with respect. read more

I've never had the kind of experience I had today at CVS. I went in to pick up my medication and there were some issues as some had been sent to the wrong store and others needed to be approved by my doctor. Monique took the time to sort out which medications I needed, transferred and filled the ones she could, and then proceeded to help me find solutions to my other ones. Overall she must have spent at least 15 minutes with me and I am so grateful. She was kind, patient, and friendly, and she and the other staff worked to make sure everyone was helped, despite the high volume of customers. I even saw the pharmacist filling the scripts take a minute to help a woman whom was having issues with her inhaler. By far the best and brightest in CVS. read more

In comparison to most locations this is a pretty good location. Usually has parking, usually is fairly clean and organized inside and usually crams the holidays down your throat well before you're ready to except them. Employees - very helpful typically very nice Facility - clean with parking I do not get prescriptions here but just general pharmacy merchandise. Well every bad review on here is absolutely accurate! Had my prescriptions transferred request at 11am.. tried to pick them up after work just to find out they didnt do anything. Gave them information AGAIN just to be told they didnt guaranteed to have it filled same day! Process slow in everything and their reasoning "short staff"! Went to CVS down the street helped me in and out within 5 mins.. prescription ready in an hr! I get short staff but omgeee! I moved from Phoenix six months ago and this is the pharmacy I've been using. I'm shocked at the difference in the staff between drop off and pick up. I was just there (minutes ago) and the gentleman handling drop off was professional and cordial, even in the face of unhappy customers (not me). But the lady at pickup was rude to the point of barely answering legitimate questions and walking off without bagging my item (or asking if I wanted/needed a bag. UPDATE: they charged me over $300 dollars for my medication, refusing to believe that it was covered by my insurance I hate to do this, but this pharmacy is awful. I understand that people have busy days and things get out of hand, but having a good experience here is a rarity. I had my doctor send in a medication that I needed ASAP (I was in quite a bit of pain) and they waited to fill it until I showed up to pick it up. This has happened multiple times, so I've gotten into the habit of calling to check to see if my prescription's ready. That being said, they're lacking in this area too. I've called and waited for inordinate amounts of time for them to pick up (usually after about 20 min or so, I give up and try again later). I've been in the pharmacy before and have heard the phone ringing for similar amounts of time. Finally, today I went to drop off a prescription. The lady at the pickup desk was helping another customer and two others were in the back. After she finished helping the customer, she went to the back and no one came to help me. In their defense, it is hard to see the drop off counter from where they were working, but when I wandered to the more visible pickup counter (and spoke with the lady) I still had to wait for quite a bit. I feel bad writing a negative review, but these people really need to step up their game. read more

It varies from inattentive or incapable staff, computer issues, etc. Two days ago, staff was only working the pick up line, leaving the drop off lune unattended. I've filled a couple prescriptions here. The pharmacy staff were courteous and efficient. The store is on the small side, a bit crowded and older than other locations. If I don't need prescriptions, I prefer the Rite Aid around the corner for other personal care type items. This store is however the closest CVS to my home and my prescription plan is Cvs Caremark, so I'll keep filling my prescriptions here. read more

Recently moved to this area and went to get some medicines. I was not feeling well obviously. The pharmacist at this location was very unprofessional. It was an older guy and he was so rude. He was speaking loudly from the counter down to me and basically yelling my personal information and that my healthcare company was not approving the transaction because I needed to do it by mail allegedly. I wouldn't normally review a pharmacy, but this CVS's pharmacy always gives me great service. They're fast, efficient, and the pharmacist answers my questions very matter-of-factly. When I went to pick up my first prescription here, the pharmacist told me there was an over 50% off 6 month coupon for my prescription. I thought that was great customer serivce :-) read more

This pharmacy is terrible. I've been using it for rxs for 6 months and I'm moving my stuff to Walgreens...further away, but less of a hassle. I've never been here without an issue. There are always "problems with the computer system," and they are consistently understaffed with long wait lines at the pharmacy dept. Every time I'm there, they bungle my order or another customer's order. I've even heard the staff make fun of customers after they leave and call one woman a "b*tch." When they mess up an order, they treat you like it's your fault. I recommend going elsewhere. read more

The store and front staff are great. The pharmacy ahhh not as much. Went in yesterday to get my flu medication after my doctor called in at 2 and I came in around 4:30 the lady at the register said they can't fill it until i spoke with pharmacist i talked to her she said it's not ready and walked away. I kindly asked how long as she was walking away she screamed 10 mins with an attitude so i said i was just wondering how long to see if i should leave and come back she said we close at 6. As I was waiting this lady came in two hours before to drop off her meds and they said give them 15 mins when she came back they forgot to fill her meds. Then another lady came in and they told her to come back in an hour and they didn't even have her medication in store & her response was why didn't you tell me. The lady at the register was yelling for help and i watched the two pharmacist ignore her . I will never get my medication filled here again. I mean so many issues with different customers that a few people were sitting in the floor waiting because of the wrong information by the pharmacist . When I come in here for other things such as make up or water the people at the front are sooo nice just wish they would have the same type of customer service in the back read more

When you go to pick up medicine, for yourself, your pet, or your family, a little friendliness might not hurt. The guy working here last Saturday made it a very easy decision to take my business elsewhere. The sad part is that the staff here, as recent as a month ago, was great. Now you're 'welcomed" with the "why are you bothering me" demeanor. Went out of my way to Wegmans instead and what a world of difference in customer service.
