This small neighborhood Target isn't a full Super Target, so it definitely lacks the wider selection and bigger stock. But if you're in the area and need quick essentials, it gets the job done. It's convenient, easy to get in and out of, and usually not too crowded. Great for basics, but not the place for a full shopping trip. read more

This Target store is much more than a department store compared to some of their other locations. In fact, I think at least 50% of the store is devoted solely to groceries and kitchen staples. This atmrea has been seriously lacking any type of food store for a long time, and at least Target is taking steps in the right direction. They carry the most basic food items that you could need for the kitchen including cereals, ice cream, and even some produce. I was also checking out theor wine aisle and what they have isn't that bad. Interestingly, there is also a cVS pharmacy located right inside the store. Today I only purchased Nature's Own protein bars, and it was the most economical breakfast bars that I could find. They do not have as much variety when it came to meat and poultry, and there is no deli inside of the store, so perhaps the next time I come I will purchase more of the basics. read more

The Rosslyn Target is fine. It's abbreviated and not as expansive as other Targets. It doesn't have as much stuff as most Targets. It's significantly better price-wise than the Safeway across the street (the Safeway's prices are basically yelling "You should take the Silver to McLean and go to Wegmans"). It's a pretty good target with decent selection (especially on grocery), and not awful on the pricepoints. read more

I was in town for the Marine Corps Marathon and had just arrived in the Rosslyn area. Since it was nearby, I came in here to buy some water for the weekend. I had to wait a few minutes as they weren't open until 8 am on weekends. This wasn't one of the regular full-sized Target stores. It was still clean and well organized, but the selection was much smaller. I bought a couple of bottles of fancy alkaline water and was on my way after paying for the items using one of the self check-out kiosks. read more

This is not a Target worth visiting. There's daily essentials and marginal clothing options, but I've seen Rite-Aids bigger and more impressive, and those basically died. There's a decent selection of street parking. But what you see through the windows is what you get - there isn't a magical second floor the size of Costco hidden under the building. If you treat it more like a corner store than the corporation it actually is, maybe you'll be better prepared for the disappointment. Honestly think the small Safeway further down Wilson hits more needs. But if you're NoVA and you want that general shop-binging experience for the holidays, stick to something like Falls Church. read more

I live so close to this target so unfortunately I do have to stop by here for things from time to time. Where to start... it's not a full target store so it's super tiny. It's only useful if you need to pick up a basic essential item otherwise you're better off going somewhere else. Secondly, somehow the staff always disappears into the abyss and are never around. When a line starts to form they disappear from behind the cash register and it makes no sense. Lastly and most importantly always check the price of your items. There have been multiple occasions where I've had to let them know that the price at the register is more expensive than what the price tag showed when I grabbed the item. Then they have to manually correct it before I finish checking out. Theres apparently a lag in their system, but Its interesting that it only happens when prices drop and not vice versa. So always double check what they ring up at the register! read more

This is a great option if you're in the area. It's a City Target, so it's not huge, but it had the basics for you to pick up. It's at the top of a hill, so be prepared, but otherwise I love going here to pick up some last minute essentials when I'm over in Rosslyn. Target should do a better job clarifying to customers this is a Target Express, or Mini Target, or whatever they are calling it. The garage parking situation is bizarre. I finally found the garage entrance (there is a small sign). As I drive into the garage, an employee in a booth walks out and asks me where I'm going, I say Target. He hands me a ticket to get validated, puts another ticket in my windshield, and points me to the 4 empty open spots marked Target. It looks like this garage has very few spots for Target, and they're all empty. And an employee walks up to every car going to Target? It's also unclear how to get into Target from the garage, but a discrete elevator takes you to the first floor of an office building, then you can enter Target through their wine/beer department. The store is small and a mess. I love small Targets - see my review of the one in San Francisco! But this one should be clearly marked as a small Target, and it should be better stocked, better laid out, cleaner, and have a more efficient parking system. read more

Express Target -- much smaller than other Targets but still carries the essentials, a limited selection of produce, health and beauty products, some electronics, a few aisles for packaged food, clothing, and home goods. If you're looking for a true Target experience, go to the one in Seven Corners. I visited in early February after lunch nearby. I bought a few items on clearance and had no wait in line. I recommend it only if you aren't expecting the full Target experience. read more

I just moved to the area and was happy to see there was a Target nearby as I heavily relied on these smaller express Targets for day to day items and many of my essential groceries when I used to live in Philly. It's much larger than my Philly Target with a decent amount of selection, more than I expected. Prices are good and the store is clean and organized. My issues with it include the lack of parking (though there is Safeway parking across the street for up to one hour with validation at Safeway) and as previous reviews have mentioned, there are never prices listed for many items! It's hard to make purchases when there are no prices and you have to go up to the register to find out the price of most things! read more

This Target is an urban Target so it's smaller than your typical suburban Target, but it's perfect for the city! You can get all the basics here from groceries to greeting cards to kids toys. The staff are friendly too! read more

Because this Target is abbreviated, I will keep this review short and simple. So apparently this is a Target Express. As others pointed out this Target is more comparable to a CVS than other Target stores. As a CVS and Target shopper, "I like it, I like it." With the store not being too big, there isn't a whole lot to distract you from getting what you need only. The location is prime, not far from the Rosslyn Metro station which is a transfer point and not far from the Georgetown to Union Station Circulator. I like that Target, an enterprise utilized the limited space to provide a quality store. And they have Self-Checkout. I think this is an example of how Target has been ahead of the curve or I am just a fool for the novelty. read more

I wish I read the yelp reviews before our impromptu visit to look for some last minute holiday supplies. I needed some boxes and wrapping paper. We even called ahead of time and were told that both were available. We decided to get crazy and take the metro since it is so close instead of driving. We arrived and were thoroughly disappointed. Not only was there no Christmas/holiday wrapping paper or boxes in the entire store but there wasn't any wrapping paper of any kind. It is such a small store it holds less than the local CVS or Walgreens. I was really surprised. I had no idea that the store was an "express" version, I had never heard of a Target express before. I wish I had and I wish it was listed on the website or the front of the store so I could at least know what I was getting to. As others have pointed out, this is a Target Express store that, on first glance from the outside, sells itself as a regular Target experience. If you think you're about to find everything and anything here, that's not in the cards. But if you're in a pinch and need a few assorted items to get you by, this place will do. Think of it as the northern Virginia yuppie equivalent of a corner bodega (minus the character and heavenly freshly made sandwiches). This Target also beats the nearby Safeway and CVS on most fronts in terms of price, selection, and cleanliness. Quite possibly the worst Target I have ever been to...I don't even want to give it a star. Shelves were empty, such a small store in general. I went to target to look for some nerf guns and there wasn't even a toy section. The CVS pharmacy that is inside of the store is bigger than the rest of the store. As others have mentioned, this is a "TargetExpress" (which I didn't know existed), not a full-size Target. If I rated it as a regular Target, it'd be a 1 or 2, since it's way smaller than your average Target and overall just worse. But since it doesn't try to be a full-size Target, I'll be nice and give it a three. They should definitely change the signage to actually say "TargetExpress," though, to avoid the inevitable disappointment and frustration you will feel if you stop in here expecting your typical Target experience. It really seems like the majority of what they sell here is just food and wine. The clothes section is pitiful, so if you have a wardrobe-related emergency (like your shoe breaking while walking to work... it happens... to me.. a lot), I wouldn't count on this Target to save the day. They do have those cute little wine cubes, though, so maybe just come for that. read more

I REALLY wish this was a real Target. It's more like a CVS with a bigger food section. Shopping carts are hard to come by, there's about 5 for the entire store. If youre just browsing this Target may work for you, however the two times I've gone for specific items, they didnt have them. They werent sold out, this store just didn't carry those items, like all other Targets. The parking garage is below the building, there's an entrance sign, but it's kind of small. Target is my happy place. It's a spot where I can purchase my favorite eyeliner (ELF gel liner for $3 son!), a bag of Lindt truffles, pizza printed pajamas, and toilet paper all in one spot. I love perusing the brightly lit, wide aisles filled with colorful knick knacks for hours on end either by myself or with a friend. It truly is one of the best places on Earth. When I found out that there was a Target in Arlington, I made sure to bookmark this spot for a future run and yesterday was a day where I needed an emergency sweatshirt for an impromptu Halloween costume. I drove to their mini parking lot (free with validation) and headed up to the second floor to get my shop on. All I have to say is: What is this? A store for ants? I need my Target to be at least twenty times bigger. All of their sections are extremely edited so all of the fun is taken out of shopping. Good luck finding a gold plated Swell water bottle with birds embossed onto it here. This is what shopping in a Soviet era Target must be like. Apparently this is what they call a Target Express but I really wish the outside of the store was branded as so. What a waste of time! I actually like this Target! Its modernized and convenient. As soon as you walk in, you'll see the checkout lanes and their illuminated signs. The store looks great and of course its clean. Don't let the small size of the store outside fool you...they've packed all of the essentials within the small space. I like the location (just right across from my job!) Just think of this Target as a CVS meets SafeWay (or another grocey store). And you can actually go into the store to buy one thing and leave with that one item..well maybe two. Lol! read more

So, this is what they call a Target Express! I was wondering why it was so small compared to other Target stores. It may be compact sized, but it is well run and fully staffed. I had several associates ask if I needed help, and I rarely get that at other Target stores, much less Walmart or Kmart. On my visit on a Saturday afternoon, there were several markdowns, but I could not tell what percentage the markdown was. I did not want to leave the store without buying anything. There is a pharmacy in the back of the store, and a Starbucks in the front. Also, there is a Capriotti's sandwich shop across the hall as you walk out of the front entrance. Due to the fact that this is Rosslyn, this location was clearly designed for urban living, but if you are a suburbanite like me, and must drive, there is a garage below the store, and Target will validate parking. read more

Needed to pick up some non drowsy variation of allergy medicine, and fortunately Target was right up the street from the hotel I was staying at. I dropped in and ended up browsing through the store to pass some time. Unfortunately, the clothing section at this store was rather dismal. They had a very limited selection of workout gear, but at least I saw plenty of items in my size! I found my medicine fast enough and then picked up some breakfast. It's a bright compact store that has a solid wine selection and offers self checkout kiosks to speed up your visit. Not sure how people always find things to complain about. As a Rosslyn resident living within five blocks of this store, I find it an important component of the neighborhood's renaissance over the last decade. read more

I live closer to the Potomac Yards Target, but I stopped in here for the first time. The best thing about this Target is it's not too far from the bus stop for ART 43, which takes me to Crystal City. Then, in Crystal City, I can take the Metroway bus to the Target in Potomac Yards. read more

I went on the first day of their soft opening, October 7, after reading an ArlNOW article saying that it had soft-opened. I'm going to call it the Targ-let from now on because it's so small relative to a full-size Target. The place is very nice, a little more upscale than their suburban locations. The staff were super friendly and excited to help. It doesn't seem like they're charging a premium for the location--the price on my body wash was the same as it was at the Seven Corners Target last Saturday--but the apparent lack of the biggest-size packages of laundry detergent and toilet paper might yield an overall higher bill compared to the jumbo-size packages at a full-size Target. Their selection seems to be tailored to the stereotype of the area, which, honestly, is probably a good business decision. There appears to be no merchandise for children--off to the 'burbs with you, parents!--but there are plenty of toys for twenty-somethings in the form of a small Halloween selection, novelty flasks, pong paddles, yoga mats, and iPhones. They also offer a small grocery selection. It's comparable to Trader Joe's: it has fresh produce and meats. It's a little smaller than TJ's, but it offers name-brands. There's also a small clothing section, and, of course, the third Starbucks in a 200-foot radius. Another cool thing: there's an order pickup counter near the entrance door, and the price checker scanners are actually tablets where you can type in and search for products. I don't know whether you could order a 36-roll package of toilet paper like they offer in the regular stores and pick it up there. read more
