The reason I chose Joybird over Wayfair is the presence of a showroom in DC. I saw the white of this fabric, over a different sofa ... very beautiful and comfortable but didn't want the pressure of maintaining white so I settled for green( which is the color of my existing sofa) I also wanted the barrel sofa .. which is displayed in black fabric at the warehouse .. honestly I couldn't choose between the Bryant and the barrel as both looked really nice. Taynsha my sales rep made sure I went home with a fabric package to help me decide .. it was very helpful. I bought this during president's day sales I'm so happy with my choice. Had an easy visit and fun transaction at Joybird this afternoon. A friend told us about them. My husband and I have been looking for a new sofa for a while. We walked in, were greated warmly by Brittany, had a question answered, and then we worked our way around the store. When we found one we liked, Brittany came back over to help out. She talked us through the different fabric families and kindly gave us enough space to figure it out between the two of us. Once we had chosen the fabric, she worked up the transaction in their ordering app and that was it. Convenient, pleasant, great service, a decent price, good quality, and a super comfy sofa that will be on its way to us in 6 weeks. I'm sold. My wife and I purchased furniture from Joybird on two separate occasions. Both times they upsold a 5-year protection plan that would cover pet damage, which is offered by ServeCo. They ensured us that the plans cover all pet damage. The furniture and protection plans were extremely expensive. Recently, our pets damaged the furniture. This is when we found out the protection plans they sell are crap (we filed a request on 1/9/2026). The plan is piece of mind, nothing more--god forbid you need to use it. ServeCo denied our claims, and we reached out to Joybird for help as they ensured us when we purchased the plan that things like this would be covered. They've also refused to do anything. The best we've been offered is a cancelation of the protection plan and a prorated refund, which we refused because it's a joke--we'd be getting peanuts to throw away any right we have to pursue this through other avenues. Joybird keeps saying what they CAN'T do, but what I really think they mean is WON'T. They misadvertised this plan and sold us it--they CAN do more than pretend to care. At this point we're not expecting Joybird nor ServeCo to do anything, which is basically what they've done so far. We can only hope this post helps prevent someone else from going through what we did. We advise that you don't buy Joybird. If you do, do not purchase the protection plan--you'll just be throwing your money away. If you want other perspectives on that, just look up ServeCo's reviews. I can't believe a place that charges so much wouldn't stick by their furniture and would do business with a company like ServeCo. read more

Beware "Restock" Fees & Poor Service READ THE FINE PRINT ON RETURNS. Or better yet DON'T SHOP AT JOYBIRD at all. This company is the perfect example of why people are hesitant to make furniture purchases online. Although they splash "90-day returns" all over their website to alleviate the nerves associated with making large purchases online, they hide the details of their astronomical ***50% RESTOCKING FEE.*** We purchased a sofa from Joybird and were enormously disappointed to find out that we would need to pay Joybird ***$1,200 PLUS SHIPPING TO RETURN IT.*** While the 50% "restocking" fee is on their site, a customer has to dig at least 2-3 pages deep to find this information that should be prevalent throughout the buying journey. Compare this to competitors like: 1. Article, which offers a generous free returns policy (minus cost of shipping) OR 2. West Elm, which makes blatantly clear they do NOT accept returns on Made to Order products at all on both the product page and the point-of-purchase It's clear Joybird falls short of industry standards for transparency and reasonable return/exchange policies. Further, in my call with the rude customer service representative, they went on to tell me that Joybird does not resell returned items but instead donates these items to shelters. While that's lovely, WHY AM I PAYING A "RESTOCKING" FEE FOR AN ITEM THAT WILL NOT EVEN BE RESTOCKED? I'm basically being asked to pay the price for Joybird's "social responsibility" initiative, which means they are likely touting their "good deeds" while exploiting their customers with unnecessary fees. When I asked what the restocking fee consisted of, I was told this information is not available to Customer Service. Of course it's not, because it's bogus. Next I offered to do an exchange, but they told me they don't except exchanges at all, even though this information is also not prevalent on their website, including their Returns page. Again, the customer has to dig deep to find this. Unacceptable. If you're going to have bad policies, at least be transparent about them. I'm disappointed in Joybird for burying the fine print on returns/exchanges on their website while exploiting "90-day returns" like it's some wonderful customer benefit while charging an astronomical "restocking" fee that is clearly just a money grab, and offering absolutely no compromise when I called to discuss reasonable alternatives such as an exchange. I will ***NEVER SHOP AT JOYBIRD AGAIN*** and will make sure everyone I know hears about how horrible my experience was. P.S. Joybird, don't bother responding to this review with a canned response just so that you can try to manage your brand's "reputation." If you want to reach out to me, I advise you to do it directly and to offer a reasonable return or exchange to make things right. read more

They have so many amazing fabrics to choose from. We ended up buying the Hughes Loveseat in Heather Rose. It was a very pleasant experience. Took about 6 weeks to be made and delivered. The delivery was exceptional. Guys were professional and the couch was fully wrapped in plastic protecting it from any dirt or marks. Should have listened to the bad reviews. Needed a new couch and was attracted to the cool vibes/colors from Instagram advertising. Went in to the DC store and sat on the couches until I found the perfect one. Ordered it. Shipment took two months- no big deal. The sectional cushion was delivered with a stain. Called customer service, sent several emails 6/21. They wanted to send someone out to clean it. I did not stain the couch- it was delivered that way and they wanted to clean it instead of replacing it. By 6/29 I couldn't get a single person to call me back so I called the joybird DC store. Cynthia was helpful in getting someone to fix the problem that day. New cushion was ordered. Took two months to deliver the new cushion yesterday. And you guessed it- stained again. Worst than the first one. The delivery men don't wear gloves and they handle the cushions directly. I should have learned the first time and just not accepted the delivery but they refused to take it back. I've called the store, the main number and sent an email again. Seems as if they only care about the sale- and if you have any type of issue there is no way of getting a hold of customer service. 5 stars for cool colors and vibes, 0 stars for customer service. Stand behind your product and do better. (If you look at the reviews of the Lewis sectional online- they are all 5 stars. What I didn't notice is that they are all from 2020 and older. And they don't publish bad reviews- mine is still "pending" which is just fraudulent practice.) read more

Truly the worst. Joybird claims my wife accidentally ordered a 2nd ottoman and delivered two when we wanted one. They claim to accept returns but their 50% restocking fee plus shipping only amount to 15% of the purchase price, so a $681 ottoman can be returned for a refund of $103, but the showroom said not to bring it there plus the delivery team wouldn't take it back either, so unclear how to even receive a 15% refund. The furniture is overpriced and uncomfortable. Would never buy from them again. read more

I purchased 2 loveseats and 2 ottomans from Joybird. One loveseat and both ottomans were delivered in June. The other loveseat was lost in the warehouse. The initial furniture I received was lively and very comfortable. The first problem is - no one answers a phone. Either customer service or the DC storefront. Everything goes to voicemail, and you're lucky if you get a return call. After two very difficult and frustrating months, Joybird built me a new loveseat. It was delivered in September. The seat cushions are flat and hard. Terribly uncomfortable. Nothing like the first loveseat that was delivered. And the back of the cushion is not the same material. They've backed it with this ugly black material that prevents me from flipping the cushion if I want to. All the cushions - and I've weighed them - are lighter. One as much as 1.2 pounds. I don't understand how any of this happens. Don't they have standards for building these pieces? And what about the customer experience? I'm going through the warranty department, and I hear things like "comfort is subjective" (by the way, no it's not when I have an identical piece to compare it to) and the black backing on the seat cushion is "not defective". And again, all communication is via email. With up to a week between communications. Save your money and energy. My next step is to file a complaint with the Consumer and Regulatory Affairs Commission in DC. These practices should not be allowed to continue unchallenged. read more
