I'd been looking at Joybird online for over a year but was reluctant to purchase furniture without sitting on it. We live in Colorado and are so glad we waited to order until we visited the Logan Circle store in D.C. while on a trip to Virginia. Cynthia pulled the fabrics we were interested in and a few others and laid them out to coordinate colors for the pieces we were interested in. I hadn't planned on purchasing that day but really had such a great experience in the store and found Cynthia's advice to be so valuable that we ordered several pieces before heading back home. So glad we got to see the fabrics (larger than the swatches by 100x) and sit on the chairs. read more

I purchased 2 loveseats and 2 ottomans from Joybird. One loveseat and both ottomans were delivered in June. The other loveseat was lost in the warehouse. The initial furniture I received was lively and very comfortable. The first problem is - no one answers a phone. Either customer service or the DC storefront. Everything goes to voicemail, and you're lucky if you get a return call. After two very difficult and frustrating months, Joybird built me a new loveseat. It was delivered in September. The seat cushions are flat and hard. Terribly uncomfortable. Nothing like the first loveseat that was delivered. And the back of the cushion is not the same material. They've backed it with this ugly black material that prevents me from flipping the cushion if I want to. All the cushions - and I've weighed them - are lighter. One as much as 1.2 pounds. I don't understand how any of this happens. Don't they have standards for building these pieces? And what about the customer experience? I'm going through the warranty department, and I hear things like "comfort is subjective" (by the way, no it's not when I have an identical piece to compare it to) and the black backing on the seat cushion is "not defective". And again, all communication is via email. With up to a week between communications. Save your money and energy. My next step is to file a complaint with the Consumer and Regulatory Affairs Commission in DC. These practices should not be allowed to continue unchallenged. read more

My partner and I were visiting DC from LA just before the Joybird showroom opened there. We dropped by the store to sit on some of the couches since we needed a new one. Dela was a fantastic representative of Joybird. She gave us pointers on size, fabric advice and generally treated us like a customer from DC even though we weren't planning on buying from the showroom. She helped us order a swatch kit to our home in California and gave us insights on upcoming sales as well. She encouraged us to visit the new showroom that was opening in LA the next week to place our order. When we got home, she followed up to make sure the swatches arrived and see if we had any questions. We never felt pressured to order, and when we did we decided to call Dela even though we could have walked to the new store in LA. She was extremely thorough and made sure everything was to our liking. I write this review from our new sectional just delighted with our experience with the DC showroom. We had a very slight issue with the delivery guys not knowing we had paid for white glove delivery, but they were very accommodating and gave it to us without even asking us to confirm with a receipt. I walked into the Joybird store on a mission. I had already researched the couches I was interested in online and had a few I wanted to try out. Tyler Hayes was the sales rep who helped me. I didn't realize that not all of the couches I wanted to see were on the showroom floor (although you can actually find that out on the website). But Tyler helped me find couches that were similar to the one I was interested in that they didn't have on the floor. He also gave me a whole box of fabric samples which was super helpful. The delivery took longer than was originally quoted (almost 10 weeks when I was originally told 4). But I'm really happy with the couch and the delivery itself ended up being super smooth. So I'd say it was worth the wait. read more

If you're looking for quality furniture, & something totally customizable, Joybird is your place! What drew me into Joybird was alllll of the fabric options - my favorite is the lovely velvet (Royale) collection! No, the furniture is not cheap, but in my opinion feels very worthwhile! I own quite a bit of Joybird & I gotta say I could see this furniture lasting for years, that is if you take care of it! I am in love with my Eugene Sofa, it is so stunning & my lil Chihuahua just loves it! It's definitely an eye catcher in my teeny apartment. Basically, to keep the sofa nice, I don't eat while sitting on this piece of art. My other favorite piece I own (of many) is the Briar Daybed in Royale Lavender. I love the construction of it & how its low to the ground. It feels very solid! It is SO comfortable! It's a nice piece to have because it can double up as a guest bed if anyone stays over! The show room is nicely done! I love how each piece can be made to suit your style in soo many ways. It's helpful seeing the accessories/furniture in person as sometimes styling your home can get very overwhelming. Overall, it may take time to get the furniture delivered but you gotta remember quality shouldn't be rushed. read more

Joybird DC reached out on 6/25/21 to help me resolve the issue with flat cushions. It is now 9/15/21, the cushions have yet to arrive, the tracker indicates that the cushions will be shipped on 8/10/21 - which has clearly long passed, and the emails to the DC store have gone unanswered. Please be *very* cautious when considering a purchase from Joybird -- we have now had three errors in a row with the same single purchase (terribly itchy fabric, then a missing piece to connect the sectional - it took a month for them to send the part, then ages to schedule a tech with them, so we had two floating pieces in the house for ages - and now these flat, uncomfortable cushions that offer no back support and don't stand tall no matter the amount of fluffing. I cannot fathom how a couch this expensive can be so terrible. This was certainly our last purchase from the company. Do beware! read more

It's been a mixed bag with Joybird. We got a sofa from them 10 years ago and the cushions bottom and back within a week lost several buttons. Joybird replaced the cushions free of charge, which was nice of them....but....the replacement cushions have lost most of their buttons too over the years. Bought 2 chairs for $2500. One has identical cracks on either side of the chair after being sat in fewer than a dozen times- the cracks are IDENTiCAL, which means it's a manufacturing defect. I bought them 5 months ago!!! Of course their warranty is only for 90 days- which would be fine if they sold quality furniture. So I'm stuck with a $1200 chair that is broken. Terrible, terrible quality issues. Beware this company, it's a trash brand!!!unless you want to waste the money, and spend tons of time and energy to deal with an unreasonable warranty team!!!!. Sagging cushions after 6 months of regular use, followed the instructions from the customer service team to send pics and explanation to the warranty team and hope they could help us. But the warranty team refused to acknowledge the issue, and just replied with " it's normal wear and tear" in EVERY EMAIL. I loved the Holt sectional couch when I saw it online. It's beautiful! I loved that I could choose the Safeguard fabric. We got the couch and it looked just like it did online. But it's THE most uncomfortable couch. It hurts my husband's back and I get sore just from sitting on it. (We are in our late 20's with no physical ailments.) We've had it for over a year and BARELY have used it. It's basically brand new. We'd rather lay in bed and watch tv. I 100% regret purchasing this couch. We ended up ordering a Bryant Petite Modular Sectional that we love! Shipping process was painless and we ended up receiving the couch about a week earlier than expected (less than a month). I ordered this daybed on August 25, 2021. I received it on Jan 25, 2022. And it was through multiple phone calls, hours on hold, and finally, threats to file a police report for theft of funds. I finally convinced a manager that they'd lost my original order and to place a replacement order. The manager insisted that my original order would show up before the replacement and I insisted, stating that I'd love for her to prove me wrong and her right. Turns out I was right. It was ridiculous that I had to go through so much to get something for which I paid a hellalot of money. DEFECTIVE SOFA and unable to get timely help. Let me start by saying that I love the sofa itself. However, after waiting many many months to receive it, the sofa was delivered totally defective. The frame and fabric on the bottom edges is extremely wavy and uneven. I sent in photos and was told that a technician would need to come out and try to repair it. This is an issue that appears to be beyond a simple repair. In this case, considering how long i have waited for the sofa in the first place, i would expect the company to send out a replacement. Instead, i have to wait up to even a month before a technician can come to my home, and after that, if found to be not repairable, wait 4-6 weeks to get a new sofa. When you call Customer Service to discuss the issue, it is nearly impossible to speak with somebody directly. There is often an automated message that says "Our phone lines are currently closed for company-wide training". I understand if one or two times you would hear this message, but using that message as a regular part of the company's strategy to avoid phone calls is unacceptable and downright shady. Not worth buying from this company due to their unethical business practices. read more

Just visited this DC show room. I was very impressed with the staff there. Super friendly and approachable but not in your face trying to push sales. Highly recommend Dela. After several weeks of debating what couch to get, we ultimately decided on the Lewis sectional after sitting on it at this store. Dela was so helpful and upfront on what to expect from different fabrics we were interested in and I greatly appreciated her honesty on what to expect about durability and wear because it changed our decision - we are rough on furniture. The quality seems good after a couple of months, though there were some loose threads that had to be snipped right after delivery. I walked into the Joybird store in Washington, DC early 2022 to look around. Cynthia helped me. I ended up ordering two furniture items. She told me upfront that there was supply chain issues and that the delivery would be delayed. I received updates from Joybird over the next several months, but then the updates stopped. I decided to stop by months later to get an update in person. The two folks working that day were super helpful and friendly. I finally got a call from the shipping/delivery folks, which I found out was a totally different department and actually associated with the parent company, LazyBoy. The delivery part of things didn't go so well. But Cynthia, who works for Joybird, not LazyBoy nor the shipping/delivery department, stepped in and helped make things right. Yes, I love the items I ordered, but the customer service received from Cynthia and the two folks I spoke with the second time I was at the DC location is what more than makes up for the shipping/delivery issues. We came here last week to look at a reclining chair. There were three people working there at the time we arrived. We were the only costumers in the shop, on a weekend. Two girls helped us out to pick out the fabric and the finish. As this is a quite expensive purchase, we told them we would think about it. We came back a week later to purchase the chair, which was a little shy of $2,000. Decided and ready to buy, we walked in to be completely ignored by the only person present and "working" in the shop. He was in front of the computer at the counter and did not even bother saying hi to us. We looked around the shop and looked at him to try to get his attention. He didn't even bother looking at us nor acknowledging us. We decided to leave and told him while leaving that it would have been nice and professional to say hello and greet costumers when they arrive. He answered very professionally: "Whatever!" Anyway... BUYER BEWARE. I ordered the Lewis sofa in May of 2021 and it was delivered August 2021. since then, I've had 3 replacement cushions because the cushions keep sinking. They said they upgraded their cushions and sent a third replacement delivered in February of this year. This one is currently also sinking. They sent a technician out to examine the frame and nothing is wrong with the frame. Joybird will not offer a refund and now say the issue is due to wear and tear. The current cushions is less than just about 3 months old, so I'm not sure how that's possible. They also won't share the report from the technician. We've been given excuse after excuse and poor customer service and will not offer any refund, when there clearly is no quality control with their furniture. The furniture is cheaply made and I regret purchasing from here. I wish I had done more research to find all the complaints about Joybird prior to ordering. Save your money and yourself the headache, and buy somewhere else. read more
