First things first, see my review below for my full shopping/ordering experience. Beth was just really great and I still recommend you ask for her, she was even in touch via email during the long processing/building/delivery process. We ordered on 11/30/2020, quoted 14-16 weeks for delivery. It actually took 17.5 weeks until it was in our house, but at the finish line their automated system had good communication so that we knew the end was in sight at least. We've lived with our Winslow w/ Chaise sofa for five months now and I waited this long to update my review in order to really give it a good trial, and we love it. The foam (rather than down) cushions are super comfortable and hold up well. The Performance Velvet fabric puts up a hard resistance to our cat, no complaints so far, and we have the couch near a window with no observable fading or anything from direct sun. Super happy that we made the customization changes for a Deeper couch which lends itself to reclining, a Longer chaise (standard length would have looked really stubby and dumb with a deep couch option selected), and changing the down cushions to foam which is a firmer feel and will hold up better over time. These are all decisions that would have been awful to try to figure out online, so thank you for the brick and mortar showroom with all of the options! If I had one complaint, which is minor, the alligator clip that holds the couch to the chaise could be a bit better designed. The metal pole that is inserted into the teeth on the clip is JUST BARELY long enough, literally no room for error. We had a heck of a time getting it to latch securely together as it kept drifting apart because the pole piece kept popping out. Invest the extra $1 into that piece and make the metal insert part 1" longer, there's no downside to doing that as it wouldn't be anywhere close to the floor or anything. So all in all it seems like we made the right choices (guided by Beth) and went with the right furniture maker! read more

I worked with Blake Kimmel at this store. He was extremely helpful in helping to select a sofa and a rug to go with it, and thats where the good part gets over. I had chosen the Alexander sofa along with the Maisie rug, and I had concerns about the rug having white patches on one side of it as seen in photos online as well as the in store pictures. I was then assured that it was a vintage look and that there was wear and tear, and that the rug I would receive would not look like that, and if so, customer service would work to provide me a "fair" solution. Now once I received the rug, my worst fear came true. One side of the rug is completely bleached/faded and it looks so cheap. Obviously everyone I contacted at Interior Define did not offer a "fair" solution, they only offered their standard return with expensive shipping and 15% processing fee. They kept saying that the bleaching is done purposely and is part of the design. What about the fact that I had raised these concerns with Blake ,my designer, and was told that this would not look like that OR else I could get a fair solution. To add insult to this, this is a Loloi rug and now I see that it is available on Overstock/Amazon at half price. I paid 795$ for this, and other sites have it for 330 to 400$. They will obviously refuse to price match. Now I am really worried about the quality of the sofa that I have ordered with them. There is no way I can call the store and talk to a real person. Obviously, I am going to avoid making another purchase from Interior Define, and post this to as many groups/social media as possible to inform others of their shady methods. Worst purchasing experience ever. Ordereda custom sofa early June 2022 with maximum estimated delivery time of 22 weeks. And, I waited. And waited. November came, and I began to call Interior Define to check on my order. And called. And emailed, and finally got news it would be delivered May 2023, via an email from the CEO that suggested this was great news and thanked me for my patience. I had no patience left and filled out the cancellation form the CEO provided mid-Nov. A month later, still no refund. This company is stealing its customers blind. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. read more

Do NOT order from here. I have been waiting almost 20 weeks for my order. I was told I would receive it by the end of November (over 5 months from when I ordered), but recently got an email saying my order was still waiting to be loaded onto a container for shipping and that I would not likely receive it within my promised timeline (but with no indication whether it would be a few weeks or few months later). The account representative assigned to my order quit in September, and it's essentially impossible to get anyone on the phone or a response to email. 100% do not order from here My advice is to stay far, far away. We ordered this chaise at the beginning of March 2022, with an estimated delivery time of 16-20 weeks. Our chair supposedly arrived at the port in California in early September. It's now mid-November and we went months without receiving any kind of update despite multiple inquiries. We finally received a note today that our chaise would be delivered mid-January, at the earliest, and even that wasn't guaranteed. There is no offer of a refund, nothing to offset any of the poor management and unfulfilled promises made by this company, all for a custom chaise that costs nearly $2000! You can find custom furniture elsewhere for the same price and will actually have a chance at receiving it. read more

I HATE seeing all the negative comments here since I truly LOVE my couch and my whole experience with interior define. After searching for weeks online, spending an hour+ in crate and barrel to even get a salesperson attention only to discover the couch I wanted (base on specific measurements I needed) it was uncomfortable and overpriced. I was able to make an appointment online and was greeted by the best salesperson Blake. Interior define was the only place I found not 1 but 2 different options in the size I wanted but they didn't charge a crazy price for different fabrics. I purchased my couch in 2021 and knew there would be a wait. I actually received my couch sooner than expected and it has been worth it! read more

I love this company. Lots of people are complaining about shipping delays, something over which Interior Define has zero control. Post-COVID shipping delays are the norm for all companies bringing product in from overseas. I had a great customer experience, I love my first couch and will definitely be ordering a 2nd. Everyone should be aware of shipping delays and customer complaints before ordering from this store. Go look at instagram comments and twitter complaints and Glassdoor reviews. It's deeply concerning. I am week 25 since ordering my couch and was just told I could expect a reply to my email inquiring into the status of my $5k couch in 10-14 days. In response to the below response from their team - know that their customer phone line goes straight to voicemail, emails go unanswered, and they post the same bland updates saying they will be in touch "soon" and blaming it on "supply chain issues" in every apology. Meanwhile Glassdoor reviews suggest they couldn't afford to pay vendors which is causing the delays. Due to their inability to provide any meaningful delivery updates, when I finally was able to get in touch via web chat, I was told I could expect a refund. However, they never followed through with the promised cancellation & refund confirmation via email. read more

My husband and I came here on the DC location's opening day - we were actually their very first appointment and the store's first transaction. The designers were very kind and helpful as we decided what we wanted. I have 0 complaints about the service they provided. They get 3 stars ONLY FOR THE PEOPLE WHO I MET WITH IN THE STORE. My BIGGEST complaint and MOST EXTREME frustration since February is the fact that our sofa is STILL.NOT.HERE. We ordered our sofa on 11/13/2021, and were told the delivery process would take 14-16 weeks. Okay. That's a wait.... but I can do that. We are already 2 weeks past the expected 14-16 weeks. I spoke with a customer experience rep and was told that COVID (of course.... I won't go any further into this part because it's everyone's reason for everything LATE) is the reason. Okay. Fine. I was annoyed and felt like they should have done a better job of communicating updates throughout the production process, but I guess that's not something that can be done? I received an email on 2/26/2021 saying that my order was in the water and would arrive at the distribution center on 3/25/21 - meaning not my house, but wherever they are in LA. The order will THEN take 5-7 days to process and THEN it will be on the road to get to me. I just received an email yesterday late afternoon: "Hi Treshea, Your order is scheduled to arrive at our Los Angeles-based distribution center today It will now be processed and go through customs, which will take about 5-7 business days. After that, your order will hit the road. You can expect scheduling options from our delivery partner 7 to 14 days later. We can't wait for you to receive your order!" I CAN'T WAIT EITHER, BUT GUESS WHAT!? This is taking WAY THE HECKINS LONGER THAN ANTICIPATED AND WAY LONGER THAN WHAT I WAS TOLD. I AM MORE FRUSTRATED NOW! Why!? Because you're saying that after the 5-7 business day processing my order will hit the road and 1 to TWO WEEKS AFTER, I'll receive scheduling options from your delivery partner which means that what???? I won't get my sofa til damn near end of April or early May? Putting the ACTUAL delivery time MORE LIKE 24-26 weeks. Do BETTER now attempt to make BETTER estimates because had I been told 24-26 weeks up front I would have NEEEEEEVERRRR gotten my sofa from here! My husband and I are sitting on a blanket pallet we made on the FLOOR because of this mess. And I can't move forward with getting the rest of furniture (dining room table/dining room chairs/curtains or blinds/coffee table) because we have an open floor concept and I'm waiting on this VERY VERY VERY LATE sofa to ensure the rest of the furniture flows well with that very important piece that is VERY LATE. I would've rather spent more for something that's not customizable and would have been here on time. It's truly disappointing because I'm in a new home and left the parent's nest, so an "in between" couch was not an available option. I had an amazing experience with Kirby at Interior Define. I am remodeling my place and have interacted with a lot of salespeople over the last few weeks. I can confidently say Kirby has been the most knowledgeable of them all. I had no idea how many decisions went into choosing a couch, but Kirby provided all the necessary information. She helped me visualize based on my space and offered excellent suggestions based on what I gravitated towards. Due to COVID and customizations the lead time on the sectional and accent chair I ordered is 18-20 weeks, which is understandable based on everything happening. I am very grateful for Kirby and I would highly recommend Interior Define. I will update this review when everything comes in. read more

THEY ARE BANKRUPTED!!!!!!!! Do NOT order from here. The fact that they are now Interior Define; Inc. and have been made an Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors ("ABC"). I ordered $9,823.00 on May 14, 2022, I have been waiting almost 42 weeks for order. I was told I would receive it by the end of November (over 5 months from when I ordered), but recently got an email saying my order was still waiting to be loaded onto a container for shipping. Very contradictory to what their website says: Any customer orders placed on and after December 29, 2022 are unaffected by the sale and the ABC and will be processed and fulfilled by the Buyer in the normal course of business. We recognize that the ABC process creates uncertainty regarding orders placed prior to December 29, 2022. Often, in these circumstances, all merchandise would be liquidated by a third party and no customer orders placed prior to December 29, 2022, would be fulfilled. However, the Buyer is working to help fulfill customer orders by negotiating terms and completing payment with certain unpaid vendors of Interior Define Inc., thereby facilitating the delivery of that merchandise. Due to the number of unfulfilled orders, there is a chance that not all orders placed before December 29, 2022, will be fulfilled. All unfilled orders, refund claims, and cancellations will be processed by the Assignee. If you have an unfilled order placed before December 29, 2022, you will be contacted prior to February 1st with more information. This has been a challenging and quickly evolving process for Interior Define, Inc., and as a result, customer service and store teams often did not have visibility into the status of orders. The teams worked hard to answer customer questions even when not fully informed of the details, and we are sorry for the stress this added to loyal customers. Understandably, this reduced communication has caused frustration and a breach of trust between Interior Define, Inc. and its customers. As the Buyer works to help try to secure the release of merchandise associated with many customer orders and works to get needed answers to customers, the customer service team will be pausing customer service responses. Going forward we are hoping to rebuild that trust and will communicate directly with this community once we have more answers. We are truly sorry for how these challenges have impacted Interior Define, Inc.'s, customers, employees, and community. In the meantime, Interior Define and the Assignee are working on establishing a website where you can check order status and hope to have the website operational by Saturday, January 14, 2023. Insane delays with no communication. Rug was estimated to arrive in 4-6 weeks. At 12 weeks they still had no idea when it would ship. Canceled our order rather than keep waiting for something that would probably never show. They were "kind" enough to waive the cancellation fee, but no other attempt to make things right. We ordered a sofa with chaise from Austin at the DC location back in April. Austin was great to work with. We were told the sofa would arrive in September or early October. The last update I got was in the summer and was told our sofa was on the ocean and due to arrive at the Port of LA in early August. It's now the end of November and no sign of a sofa coming our way. When I tried contacting the store, I noticed they were "temporarily closed". I've emailed the company and left a voice mail on the customer service line. No response. I finally went to the store at Tyson's Corner and met with manager, Brian. He tracked the sofa and told me it has arrived and is sitting in a shipping container in LA. But our pillows came separately and are in a completely different container. Weird! Brian said he would keep me updated weekly. I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt that he'll actually follow through, but I'm not going to hold my breath. If you can find a different place to order a custom sofa, I highly recommend going a different route. This company seems to have serious supply chain problems and under-staffed. read more

He made my tough decisions easier with expert advice and photos. After my purchase, Jessica Mueller sent a follow-up email to introduce herself and walk me through the entire production and delivery process, which I thought was great. I would also warn about this company. I placed my order for a sectional sofa on May 27, 2022. Despite assurances I would receive my sofa by October, i have yet to receive it. In November I was made aware that the building of my sofa had been completed and that it passed inspection. I was even sent a picture and told that I would receive my sofa no later than late January 2023. However the very same day immediately after that call I went into my account on their website to check the status of my order and saw a new status that gave an estimated delivery date of early April. When I immediately called back to inquire I was unable to reach anyone and four weeks later have still been unable to get a live agent via chat or via phone. I am very concerned. I have tried to give this company the benefit of the doubt given the issues many companies are facing with builders and transport issues, but to be told one thing and then the very same day seeing something entirely different on the site seems questionable at the very least. The inability to get a response from anyone in the last four weeks is truly unacceptable. Unfortunately, I must agree with the other reviews and not recommend this company. read more

ordered the sloan in deep, it was recommended i get the non down cushions....couch is hard and uninviting. go and sit in a couch from crate and barrel and order it from them. interior design will not refund my couch. im stuck with an uncomfortable couch for 5 more years, say no to them. they are jerks. their return policy is also not clear...good luck! read more
