We checked her bag and there was literally nothing. Then suddenly she went, I only wanted to make sure. Make sure of what? She had just said she saw her do it. Instead of admitting she was wrong and apologizing, she started blaming my niece, saying she wasn't supposed to touch anything in the store. Mind you, my niece was with us the entire time, just looking around. She wasn't even running around or touching everything. We were so done with her nasty attitude and were leaving, and she was still muttering that we should watch the child. Like, seriously? She falsely accused, found nothing, and somehow we were still the problem. Customers shouldn't be treated like thieves. If dealing with people makes you this miserable, customer service probably isn't for you. At least learn some basic decency and how to admit when you're wrong.

I figured, if I got it reupholstered to the color of my choice and had the cushion replaced, it would be good as new. I took to my handy dandy Yelp app and did a search and Mill End popped up. I'm familiar with the shop, since a family member worked there years ago, but I had no clue they did this type of work. I gave them a call and was told to bring in a picture to evaluate the chair because they didn't want me to be without my chair for a long time. Well, I thought bringing in the chair itself would be easier, since I wasn't in a hurry for it. I was greeted by a very knowledgeable staff member who gushed about how beautiful the chair was. She did an evaluation of what would be needed to repair and reupholster it and then showed me the fabrics that were available in the color I selected. They have a large variety of fabrics on-sight in the store, but they do have options that can be ordered. The one I selected was on-sight. We agreed upon the estimated price, I filled out some paperwork and I was out the door. It was literally that quick and simple. Since they have a pretty extensive client list waiting for their projects before me, my estimated date for the chair to be completed was about 2 months or so. To my surprise, I was called about a month later informing me that my chair was ready. I arrived and was extremely pleased with my brand new chair. The workmanship was beautifully done and the cushion they replaced was perfectly placed. They did such a phenomenal job, my parents wanted their chair back. Lol! Not on my watch! Yes, Mill End is a bit pricey, but so worth it! They're truly professionals. I'm planning to get my dinning room chairs reupholstered in the near future, so I made sure to get an estimate while I was there. I'll absolutely be back in the near future.

With a call out to family, I knew I would still be too late for that item. See, the one thing I do not like about these places is that if you purchase, you have a set amount of time to pick it up and take it home. I know I would not be able to secure that item. But, when the cavalry arrived, I was set to go here and make a purchase, even if it wasn't for the item I was hoping for. I am kind of glad that I didn't get that item, because looking back now, it would not have fit in my apartment in the least. I am happy with the two items that I did end up purchasing. For less than $40 I came home with two items, even if I did have to make two trips. I came on a good day here. One thing to keep in mind is check out what tags are discounted even more. One tag will be 75% off and others will be about 40% off. I can confirm that the prices here are outrageous. If it wasn't for the discounted pricing that day, I would have spent close to $250. I did get a deep discount, but if I would have come another day, it would have been a different story. Biggest complaint here, is that when they receive new, unopened items, they really do overprice them. They really go out of their way to make it unobtainable just to keep you coming back.

When we ran into the very rare problem with these blinds (usually because of our cats), Sam Kugler removed them for us, had them repaired at no cost, and replaced them in our windows so that the work was done right, speedily, and without sweat on our part. When blind was repaired, the work has always be lightening fast, perfect, and without any further problems. There are almost no businessmen in operation who offer this level of perfect product and fabulous service any more. They're located in that random giant industrial area that runs alongside Route 1 on the side where the train tracks are. The vintage store is bigger than it may appear from the outside, and there's truly a LOT to sort through. Furniture, trinkets, pillows... you name it, they have it. There were some small tables and stools that almost found a home with me, but I was like... where am I going to put these things?! My kitchen is already being to be overloaded, and I rather not have that same energy rippling through the rest of the house.
