Pistachio Ricotta cake

Started with phenomenal service, delicious bread, very hospitable server and delicious food. We had the lasagna plate and the chicken Marsala plate which were both quite delicious. I asked for a wine to pair with the chicken and got a great recommendation from the server. Topped it off with the pistachio ricotta cake that was great as well. Will definitely be back. Musician came in close to the end of our meal but great add on to the mood.

Absolutely loved this place! We went on a Saturday night and dined at the outdoor patio with our doggo. Staff were all so friendly and attentive. Food was amazing (definitely get the Papa Tony and wild boar pappardelle) and the vibe with live music at a cozy intimate patio was just so lovely and romantic! It was also my bday and the restaurant gave us a dessert and sang the bday song to me. What a beautiful way to spend a special occasion!

The food was delicious, got the lobster pasta ( Pappardelle all' Aragosta ), Papa Tony, and chicken parm ( Pollo alla Parmigiana ). They seated us right away even with no reservation on a Friday at 7pm. We sat in the covered back patio which was a lovely atmosphere with a live sax player. They gave us complimentary bread and butter right away and served us quickly throughout the nice. I would definitely recommend this place.

Tarantella on 4th is located on retro row snuggled in the middle of the block. Don't walk to fast because you might miss it, like I did. When I walked back I don't know how I missed it because there's a seating area in the street. When I walked in I saw a small area with tables and chairs. I walked to the bar area where someone was there to check me in, we were seated right away. Our table was out back where it is set up very cozy; one of the employees told us they have live music on certain nights so we planned to go back to enjoy it. When you sit down they offer you warm bread and grass fed butter. Our food was good, think it mostly would taste better the next day. I usually enjoy pasta much more on the second day as the flavors have set in. Parking is a challenge, as they do not have a parking lot; there's metered street parking but you may need to drive around to find an open spot. There's also a small paid parking lot on the corner.

Ok gang, I get it - - this is supposed to be a nice Italian spot. But the portions? Shockingly small. And the single complimentary bread basket didn't make a dent. SMALLEST RAVIOLI PORTION EVER ($28.50) $28 for nine small raviolis. Yes, nine. We ordered from the special menu--about a 6/10 on flavor, 2/10 on portion size. DECENT LASAGNA ($25) Really tasty and hearty, but still small for the price. 8/10 flavor, 7/10 portion. SIDE OF 2 MEATBALLS ($5) Pretty solid overall. 8/10 flavor, 7/10 portion. TOTAL BILL BREAKDOWN After tip, we paid $75 for a 3"x3" lasagna, 9 raviolis, 2 meatballs, and 6 small pieces of bread. Almost a week's worth of groceries. FINAL THOUGHT Only worth it if you sit on the back patio and enjoy the live music. Eating inside without any ambiance makes the prices feel insanely high for what you get. SERVICE Friendly, fast, and genuinely good - - only kudos in this section!

Lobster pasta & sirloin steak

This is a very cozy and intimate spot for dinner or a date. The interior is alright, but it's the backyard patio that steals the spotlight. They have quite a cute setup back there with string lights, plants, and live music nightly. While the live music was just 1 guy playing the saxophone, it was still a vibe. The food was pretty good and tasted very authentic. We ordered 3 dishes: fried risotto, lobster pasta, and the sirloin steak. The fried risotto did not taste very risotto-y, but was delicious nonetheless. The lobster pasta was also pretty savory, but I feel like the pasta quality itself could have been better. The sirloin steak was an interesting dish, steak itself was decent. The veggies that came on the side was quite refreshing with the slight tartness. The complementary bread that came in the beginning was also amazingly soft and fluffy. With some warm butter it was exquisite. Service was also pretty quick and welcoming. I would come back to try the other dishes if I were in the area.

We booked this place on resy to utilize my amex credit. In the front it looks just like any other small italian resturant but the real charm is in the back. They even had a live performer playing the saxophone with cute decorations. I got the sirloin steak, fried risotto and lobster pasta. I think the fried risotto was definitely worth it and the pasta actually had a good amount of lobster chunks. The steak was very interesting with the sauce they used. However I think the sirloin cut or they might have slightly over cooked it. The meat was slightly rough but that's alright everything else made up for it. The service was very quick and food came out in under 15-20mins. Great vibes for dates or double dates but the rocks that they use is slightly annoying since the chairs and tables sometimes are uneven. I kicked more rocks underneath to make it a smooth surface so the table was stabilized. Parking is also limited to mainly street where you have to pay. I'd check it out!

We visited Tarantella on 4th on a Saturday evening, and fair warning--parking was rough. All the paid spots were taken, and we ended up parking about three blocks away. I called ahead to let them know we'd be about 10 minutes late. I was told they hold reservations for up to 15 minutes, so I figured we were fine. Unfortunately, when we arrived, our table had already been given away, and we had to wait another 10 minutes or so. That said, once we got past the initial hiccup, things really turned around. The small waiting area had a cozy charm, and walking into the outdoor back patio--with a live saxophonist playing--felt genuinely magical. The food absolutely delivered. The spaghetti carbonara was spot on, and the lasagna was just as impressive. We finished with tiramisu and cannoli, and honestly, it felt like we were transported back to Italy. Despite the rocky start, the ambiance and food made it a memorable experience.

Truly everything here was so tasty. The outside patio is so cute but the reason it got four stars is the fly issue outside. Even thought they try to give you small motor fans, we were always fighting off the flies. The bread at first is so soft and toasted. With butter it makes the best appetizer. I tried the moscato de azi and omg it was the best tasting moscato I had in a while. If you're looking for something that basically tastes like great juice get the whole bottle. I got the entree with lobster in it and it was really good. I like things a bit salted so if I had a sprinkle more it would be divine. It was very flavorful and not too tomatoey, the flavors balanced well. One more critique is that I usually see larger servings at most Italian places in comparison to what were served, especially at the price point. But without that truly I would still come back and keep trying the rest of the menu, I would just recommend placing a reservation inside if you don't want to deal with the flies. Service was fine. Since it was small they seemed busy, but we got served when we could, it just take a while to get your entire to you, which was worth the wait in terms of taste.

Love 4th street and tried a lot on the street, Tarantella was one I had not so I made a resy and tried it for the first time fresh bread was served first with some butter and a couple drinks pretty good beer and wine selection. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and the specials they offered and explained them very well. We sat in the lil patio area which is neat lil pebble rock floor with tables and chairs and makes it feel more personable. Food was good I tried the Ragu and the chicken lemon dish with capers. I will be back to try some other dishes on the menu

As soon as I stepped in this seemingly regular Italian spot, I realized it was anything but. The pasta and bruschetta is absolutely amazing, like they delivered it from Italy themselves. The service was outstanding, the owner gave us a glass of wine to try, and I even received an incorrect meal once that was comped and they allowed me to take it AND gave me my ordered meal! Sitting outside with live music is a great experience. Definitely recommend for a date night.

Papa Tony

We are new to the area and my good friend told me about this restaurant and it's in walking distance from my house. We were greeted by Megan and were seated in the patio area. It's really cute back there with the stringing lights and a live singer. We ordered the calamari to start. My daughter got the spaghetti carbonara and I got the Papa Tony. The good was amazing and the service is attentive! We definitely recommend

The restaurant is small but has such a cozy atmosphere, with just enough tables to feel intimate without being cramped. My husband and I ordered the uni cream pasta and the bolognese - the uni pasta was delicious, rich and briny with that unmistakable uni flavor coming through, however it was a bit too heavy by the end but still worth trying though if you're a fan of uni! The bolognese on the other hand was ABSOLUTELY delicious, probably top 3 pastas I've had in my life. It was really flavorful and you could tell it had been simmered for quite a while, and the wine flavor really complimented the whole dish so well without being overpowering. Both pastas were cooked perfectly al dente and honestly left me wanting more. The chef actually came out and brought us our pastas himself, which was such a kind and personal touch. You could tell he genuinely cared about the food and the experience he was giving us and little details like that made the whole meal feel even more special. The pasta is all handmade, and you can genuinely taste the difference in both quality and flavor. The noodles have that fresh, slightly chewy texture that packaged pasta just does not have, and everything tastes carefully made rather than mass produced. The bolognese is spectacular: deep, rich, meaty, and comforting without feeling overwhelmingly heavy. It is the kind of dish that makes you slow down because every bite is worth paying attention to. The salads are also surprisingly substantial. The chopped salad, in particular, is a generous portion and packed with flavor, so it feels like a real part of the meal instead of an afterthought. Save room for the tiramisu, which is very good: creamy, balanced, and a great finish after the richer pasta. The only downside is the ambiance. On this particular weeknight, your favorite Yelp correspondent was pivoting in and out of Glendora's Food Hall like a metronome, ferrying a quartet of meals from the hall for my wee Uber gig. Pastaphony caught my attention within moments of nesting my customer's order into my insulated carrier- my SUV's cabin was redolent of cheese, tomatoes and overall hone-cooked goodness! I went with Pasta Arrabbiata, then customized my order by adding a breaded chicken breast, black olives, onions, roasted peppers and shaved parmesan. On the plus side, Pastaphony gives ample portions- My entree weighed almost as much as a two-item combo platter from your friendly neighborhood Chinese takeout place! And, while the dish took me to Flavortown...unfortunately it was the Mojave Desert, with its scorching flavor profile and intense, spicy taste. The star of the dish was the breaded chicken cutlet and the shaved parm, but since the penne pasta overwhelmed the chicken/parm by an eight to one ratio...this was a difficult dish to finish. Context- As the acknowledged "lightweight" in a family of folks who typically relish spicy food, I asked my wife to sample my dish. She was born in Michoacacan and regularly quaffs homegrown Serrano and Habanero peppers like they're ice. Even she was surprised by how utterly spicy my pasta dish was! My entree cost $26.39 after taxes, a wee steep for a single protein pasta dish. By comparison, you can spend $1 more at any Johnny Carinos or Olive Garden and get a three-item combo with bread and/or salad accompaniments. So I wasn't satisfied by the "value for money" question, either. This experienced reviewer probably ordered the WDD (Wrong Damn Dish) but at their prices (a side of garlic bread or breadsticks is $10.99!) one os hesitant to retake the plunge.

I ordered the Arrabiata pasta with the sausage. I'll admit I was a little thrown off by added cost of each tolling and also added cost of the Arrabiata sauce and I also did wait until a fair amount before the food was ready for takeout. But the pasta really blew me away. I'm still thinking about how good it tasted. I would definitely come back and I actually wanna bring my dad who loves spicy pasta like this. It was really that good. I can't think of another place that has this level of pasta let alone this price. The only negative I would say in regards to one of the workers.
