This"business" advertises heavily on Craigslist, San Diego and touts itself as a "DISCOUNT MOVING BOXES & SHIPPING SUPPLIES WHOLESALE TO THE PUBLIC" business.
I was interested in a couple of shipping boxes that I need to ship out some HiFi equipment to the Midwest and a large bag of shipping peanuts. Not a big money purchase for them, but would have put roughly $40 cash in their pockets. While their online box quotes did not seem "discounted" at all compared to U-Haul box prices, I thought that I would "kill 2 birds with 1 stone" and get the boxes there while I DID need the peanuts, at minimum, and their price was competitive with online retailer prices.
A 1-star rating has been given based upon two things. First, and maybe not too important, is this firm's location, which (even by GPS, which I used) is very difficult to locate. Secondly, and MOST importantly, is this firms business practice. After wasting about 10 minutes driving up and down Greenfield Dr. trying to locate this firm, I finally found it in a maze of small suites in an industrial park. Upon going up to the door (at about 11;00 AM on a Friday; their web site/ad states that they are open Mon. thru Fri.), I found the door locked. I finally spotted the sign on the door that instructed me to call a cell phone number if the door was locked and they were not there. Really? Are you serious? I finally decided to just go ahead and call the number, since I had already wasted time and money (gas) finding this place. I called and the phone rang and rang... Really? Finally, a voice mail recording came on. I just hung up. Just, WHAT TYPE OF BUSINESS EXPECTS TO MAKE A LIVING WITH THIS TYPE OF BUSINESS MODEL???
Needless to say, I will not be back! To this person credit, they did call back, but I did not answer the call. I mean what am I to do, waste more money driving out there again in the hopes that they will be open? read more
