I really enjoyed Tapas Teatro. The decor was cozy, the drink selection was decent and the food (especially the falafel salad) was good. I also liked the open kitchen, though I didn't like sitting right next to it. I visited Tapas Teatro during Artscape and it was a zoo. Surprisingly though, the staff handled the chaos perfectly. The manager was refilling our drinks and we had several waiters checking in with us. I was impressed with both the food and the service and will certainly be back. read more

I came here for a second time with an out of town friend. $3.75 Stella Artois and a good specials list made it a delicious night. The servers and hostess were very helpful and humorous, and food came quickly. The sauce that came with our fried calamari was excellent and made a perfect complement to the calamari. Cumin chicken was cooked to tender perfection and went nicely with the cumin mayonnaise, which was tangy and smooth. On the other hand, the flank steak came in a small portion and didn't look all that incredible, and the sea bass special came in a rather oily sauce. Overall though, tapas is incredibly fun for a night out with friends and Tapas Teatro is a great place for it. read more

Tapas Teatro is really 4.5 stars in my book. The loss of the half star is only because they do not take reservations. Expect a crowd and a wait. It's all worth it. Despite the crowd, service is amazing all around. The food, the drinks, the staff - all are wonderful. And I've never felt rushed. Tonight, a friend and I stopped in after a movie for a small bite and a martini. It was crowded as usual. We put our names on the list. The hostess directed us to the theatre waiting area, stating that she would bring us some olives after we ordered drinks from the bar. We found a table, but while I was ordering our drinks, the hostess approached me to offer two seats that had opened at the other end of the bar. Perfect! All others on the list wanted a table, so she held the bar seats for us and we snatched them. The bar is definitely worth is if the tables are full. Take what you can get! The menu changes often, so there is always something new to try. Nice beer and wine selection and ever changing drink specials. Dark and Stormy and a blueberry pomegranate martini tonight. The tapas rundown: Pomegranate martinis - expertly mixed; loved it Free bread and olives. Manchego - almond crusted and fried; crispy and delicious Crabmeat and spinach - sauteed in a creamy asiago sherry sauce; so tasty Mediterranean Mix - olives, artichokes, asparagus, tomatoes in a spicy vinaigrette; awesome Pincho Moruno - cumin, paprika and garlic marinated pork skewers; melt in your mouth Price - $49 split between two. Can't beat it. Add on tip and it's still cheap. I love this place. read more

I've been wanting to come here for years and finally had the chance. Oh boy was it good! A little crowded, a little cramped, but the food was delicious. I shared with some friends--let's see, I had grilled eggplant, fried onion rings with a most delectable sauce, fried mushrooms, roasted potatoes. My friends were raving about the duck, though I didn't have any, and they were also quite fond of the lamb meatballs. For dessert, we had the fried cheese drizzled with honey and truffle oil. That was really great, too. The sangria was delicious but not at all strong. It was more like drinking juice than wine. But that's okay. A good time was had by all. read more

Hadn't been to this place in two years so went back last night after catching a movie at the Charles Theater. Was happy to find that it still serves up great food in a nice ambience. It is very small, so would probably avoid during peak hours when the wait can get very long. But otherwise, I'd definitely recommend this place. It's great for coffee/desserts, snacks, first dates, or a group of friends. Probably wouldn't go here if you're super hungry, just because the portions are small and pricey. read more

Did I miss something? My boyfriend and I had dinner here this past weekend, and we kept waiting for it to get better to no avail. Our server seemed very knowledgeable about the wine--I asked him for something like a pinot noir, he recommended the bobel. Delicious. My boyfriend wanted something earthier, and the recommendation was spot on. Our server had a lot of opinions when it came to the food, too, which I initially thought was a good thing. Was the octopus worth ordering? He made a face, shook his head. Ok then. How are the chimichurri beef ribs? A must order? Done. We should have had wine and left. We ordered the morcilla (a special), Montealva cheese, seared tuna, beef ribs with chimichurri, chili rellenos, grilled sardines, and fried fennel with garlic aioli. We got three plates pretty quickly. We liked the cheese, but it came on a super greasy plate. Had it been sitting out for a while? The toasted bread it was served with was toasted on 10% of its surface. The rest was flabby and cold. Seared tuna was tiny and was completely underseasoned--no flavor at all. It was also served in a pool of oil. Chili rellenos (chiles stuffed with cheese) was fine, but swimming in oil. We were served bread afterward, which could have been timed better. The bread was cold and bland, so that didn't matter in the end. Beef ribs came out with the fried fennel and grilled sardines. We held off on the ribs--they seemed to be missing the chimichurri. When we flagged down our server, he pointed to the few pieces of onion and pale tomato on the plate and said, That's the chimichurri. Sorry, buddy, but this is NOT it. Even if this is how you define it, put some more on the plate instead of a teaspoon-sized amount. The fried fennel was probably the worst thing we had. Its coating was flaking off in huge chunks, and the fennel was fried raw. Totally unappetizing, and I actually considered sending it back (I've never done this before). It was like eating raw fennel with greasy breadcrumb chips on the side. This dish actually made me mad. Grilled sardines were okay, though that isn't my cup of tea. We waited 15 minutes and no morcilla. We asked our server about it; he went to check. "I don't know what happened, but it didn't come out," he said. No shit. "Do you still want it?" Seriously? We ordered it. Of COURSE we do. It ended up being the most flavorful thing we had, which isn't saying much--it was still pretty bland. Dishes were never explained to us, we were never asked if we wanted another drink or if we were enjoying our meal. Upon reevaluating this place, I want to give it a one, but at least the wine was good. read more

This place was alright. We came from Pen & Quill where we just had one drink and a few apps (their menu left a little more to be desired) so we were still hungry but not ravenous. Their cocktail selection was great, I had the Julianne Moore and the Spanish 75, the latter of which was especially refreshing and delicious. My partner had one of their bottled dry ciders which he also enjoyed. The food however, was hit or miss for us. We ordered: Costillas de Cordero (grilled lamb chops with housemade BBQ sauce) - Amazing. Lamb had great flavor and texture despite being a little on the rare side. And while I typically don't prefer BBQ sauce, theirs was the perfect accompaniment to the lamb. Pulpo y Patatas (Baby octopus, soft potato, Pimiento d' Espelette) - This was weird. The octopus was finely chopped and sort of piled on top of the smashed/mashed potatoes. While the flavors were there and we enjoyed the octopus and the potato enough separately, together it was a little confusing and didn't seem to work texturally due to there being so many soft, mushy components. Fritura de Mariscos (Fried squid rings, bass and shrimp with garlic aioli and lemon) - The most disappointing. All the seafood components were slightly dry and the batter didn't help. Additionally, the garlic aioli was very bland and not flavorful at all. Even after squeezing lemon juice on top of everything and even into the aioli in a desperate attempt to manually inject some much-needed flavor, alas it was not enough to convince us to finish our plate of dry, boring, slightly chewy seafood. Bay Scallops (bay scallops, mushrooms, fennel, sherry cream sauce, with crusty toast) - Very good. Scallops were perfectly cooked, not rubbery or chewy at all and the mushrooms, the sherry sauce, and the slice of toast made this a very well rounded dish in terms of flavor and textures. I especially enjoyed the fresh herbs and fennel which added a nice fresh herbaceousness to the scallops. Overall, the food was meh for us. I suspect we just got unlucky with our choices given the wide variety of options on the menu, so I will have to revisit at some point to try some of their other offerings in order to get a better sense of the food quality as a whole. The service was great, our server Seth was friendly and personable while also being efficient and attentive, definitely one of the highlights of our dining experience. All of our food and drinks came out relatively quickly and the general ambiance of the place was very warm, inviting, and eclectic. The only real con about this place is the fact that they don't accept reservations which is slightly annoying, but if you can get past that, Tapas Teatro is an interesting option if you are looking to try something new for dinner and cocktails. read more

It is the worst place i ever went to : 1. They dont accept reservations and said the wait time is 30 minutes ,even after arriving there and waiting for 45 minutes ,was asked to wait for another 30 minutes . 2. They want you to wait and spend money at their bar and in turn even after waiting get anything. 3. I went there with lots of excitement and got my friends from outside the city but had to cut a sorry face ... My advice stay away unless you can wait for more than hour in cold or spend money at bar read more

This place was pretty busy on a Saturday night, and we got a table outside to enjoy the pleasant evening. There was a $10 white sangria special on the menu, but apparently it's a seasonal thing and they were "out," which seemed a little silly. It's a fun experience, to share tapas and pitchers of sangria with a group of friends, although the tapas were a bit pricey for the size. Most of the tapas were perfect for two people to split, so be prepared to saw heavily with a dull butter knife if you are hoping to split the portions down even further. They also typically only come with not enough bread, but feel free to ask for more. Overall we spent about $25 /person for food and sangria, and left feeling like we could have eaten a lot more. The dishes were all very tasty though, and made with high quality ingredients. read more

Tapas Teatro deserves credit for being if not THE first then one of the first tapas bars in Baltimore. That alone, of course, doesn't hold up for long. The prices are good, the food is solid but not necessarily great, and as others have observed, it is rather small and the wait can be insane. If you're thinking "Oh, we'll just pop in for a quick bite before the movie" (at the adjoining Charles Theater), your dinner might well end up being popcorn and JuJubees from the concession stand. If you like sangria, theirs is quite good. read more

A little pricey, but good! I highly highly recommend the Gambas al Ajillo (shrimp in olive oil and garlic). Definitely the best dish we ordered, even for bread dipping. The fried cod, croquetas, and seared tuna were decent. We also had the spinach with crab sauce - too soupy for me, but the flavors were good. The sangria is also very good and sweet. I want to try the cava cocktails next time! Service is excellent - they are fairly accommodating for big groups and really friendly. Sitting outside is also an option even when it's cold because they have an outdoor heater. Three stars for food, plus one star for service. Pro tip: if you bring a dessert to celebrate your friend's bday, there is a $3 plating fee. read more

I LOVE this place!! Between 2005 and 2009, while at Hopkins I frequented this place a lot. I finally returns back and it's just as good as I remember, if not better. They've kept some great plates in the menu and have added some good ones too. I was very pleased with the service and food. read more

Was looking to eat at this place as looked good and busy when went to theater next door Overall was disappointed as seemed like goal to get food out quickly made dishes taste like fast food. Most dishes tasted liked cooked and then sauce or seasoning thrown in afterwards. Marinate on anchovies was too oily and vinegar killing the flavor. Even got shrimp with a translucent edge that dared not eat as looked undercooked. Trout was okay and wines and beer were passable. At end wish food was trying to impress me as much as server was. read more

Went here for lunch and ordered the little neck clams. At first things seemed great, then we got a real eye of the service. Our waiter made a rude comment on how 'I wish customers could read, why do we even bother putting a sign saying service entrance if they don't use it'. Our dishes were brought out at different times, mine being 20 minutes after everyone else's. The first dish brought out was eggs and salmon, which was good but would of been better if they could of been eaten before it got cold waiting. The next dish was a salad, so that ones temperature did not matter as much. Last, 20 minutes later, my little neck clams came. They were served with egg, bacon, and tomatoes, and delicious. The food all around was delicious, but could of been greatly improved by better service. read more

If you are in the Station North area of Baltimore (or even if you aren't!), be sure to check out this great tapas place! It's located directly next to the Charles Theater, so it's a great spot to go for dinner before a movie. While the restaurant is itself a bit cramped, it is decorated in such a way that after a few minutes of getting used to it, the cramped sensation transforms more into a cozy sensation. if you go during a nice summer evening, they have great outdoor seating. The menu is so big you may get a bit lost in it. It is organized by general groups of dishes (veggies, meats, cheeses, etc.), but even so, I like to get started by looking at the specials list. If you still can't decide, go ahead and ask your waiter to suggest a few things. They are generally very friendly and will be happy to recommend things. Be sure to pace yourself, though, you want to take your time to savor every delicious dish on the menu. I would start by ordering 2 to three dishes per person, and you can always add more as you go along. Just know that the green pea croquettes are to die for ;) Tapas Teatro is located in Station North, which is a part of town that until recently used to be one you would probably not want to spend much time in. It has been caught up in a renaissance of sorts, and is now home to several good restaurants and art galleries. Even so, I would recommend trying to park your car on a main road - or better yet, leave your car at home and take the circulator (it's just a one block walk from the Penn Station stop). read more

What I like - Tuesday sangria, next to a great theater that lets you take your sangria with you to the show and a nice whiskey selection. What I don't like - pricey tapas that is so-so, service can be slow and staff is more interested in themselves than their customers. Now, it isn't the worst service I have ever had, but it is just flat and can be a bit awkward at times. We have been at least 4 or 5 times. Each time we walk away a little put off. Like the last time when we were never asked if we wanted another drink while sitting at the bar. It took me so long to get the guys attention, I just asked for the bill. It is a place I really want to like. The food is OK. The location is good for us. It is close to home and the theater is one of our best finds in Bmore. The drinks are good and the staff know how to mix a good drink. Really like the bar - it looks cool, stocked great. It is the damn people behind the bar and their lack of attention on the customer that just kills it for me. read more

Great tapas at good prices! We came here during Artscape and were afraid that we'd have to wait forever, but actually got seated immediately. For the two of us, we ordered 4 small plates and two desserts to share, which was the perfect amount of food. We were full but not stuffed afterwards. The food itself was very good. The Salmon con Melaza was perfectly cooked and the components went well together. The Albondigas were very tasty, as were the Croquetas (we had the potato ones). The only dish I was less excited about was the Trout Ahumado -- still tasty, but there wasn't enough bread for all the trout, and it was a little too like a spread to eat well on its own. All in all, a very good meal. We'll likely be back with out-of-town visitors. read more

I love the food at this establishment, I've been coming here for years. I don't write to many reviews but this place deserves me taking the time to do so. The food is consistently good staff very polite and respectful. Me And my wife LOVE the smoked trout plate. The chicken with the cumin aoili is delicious and juicy every time. I love to order the Estrella that they have on tap and my wife insists the bartender makes delicious martini's. It isn't a negative for me but the tables are fairly close together, so if your looking for quiet this isn't the place for you GREAT DATE SPOT FOR ALL AGES! CHEERS read more

Great atmosphere. Excellent food. The paella is super also the croquettes, angus steak and tortilla. To top it off the goat cheesecake was simply magnificent. Highly recommend this place. Also great wines from Spain read more

This is a slightly unorthodox Spanish cuisine. Most of the classics are available on the menu with some variation from what I usually find in Spanish restaurants. The quality of the food was quite good. As with any tapas restaurant, there are some things on the menu they do amazingly well and others that I'd rather eat somewhere else. I found a couple things I really enjoyed and had a great meal. The service was quite good. The server was attentive and I always had what I needed. It can get quite busy, but our table was never neglected and the host did a great job of seating our large party in a timely fashion. The price was typical, if slightly higher, for a tapas restaurant. read more

My experience here was good but nothing out of this world. I'd go back if I was in the area but wouldn't make a trip out of my way for them. The service from waitress Kate and the red sangria were GREAT & I really enjoyed the grilled calamari & goat cheesecake. I was displeased with the chickenless spicy chicken croquettes and the oversalted fried seafood platter. We sampled mussels, lamb chops, filet mignon, baby potatoes & shortribs as well. None were really extraordinary & seemed overrated & overpriced for that reason. read more

I came here last week with 3 girlfriends around 11pm on Saturday. Many restaurants don't have their kitchens open that late so that is plus for Tapas Teatro. The drink menu is awesome especially sporting at 17oz Hefferweizzen. We ordered at least 15 things on the menu. The duds were the unseasoned calamari and the salfish fritters which were more like potato balls. The stars were the Albondigas, lamb meatballs in a rich tomato and onion sauce. Also the lamb chops were grilled to perfection. I'm sure there are restaurants with better food in Baltimore but this was pretty good for late evening food. read more

I have been excited to hit up Tapas Teatro since I moved to Baltimore in January. Finally the right opportunity presented itself when I won tickets to see a movie at the Charles. I have kind of a love/hate relationship with tapas places. I love tapas, I LOVE being able to try a lot of different things, but being a bit of a cheapskate, I always end up going and feeling disappointed that I can't really try that much. At least, with two people I usually end up only getting two to three dishes, because the tapas cost almost as much (if not as much) as a "real" meal would cost at an inexpensive restaurant. That being said, I don't feel that Tapas Teatro is more expensive than any other tapas place in the States. (No one does tapas like the Spanish, I guess.) And taking that into consideration, the tapas here (at least what we tried) were absolutely delicious. I have been to some pretty mediocre tapas places, so I was very happy with that. We did have the issue of not being offered or served any bread. The dishes we had could have REALLY used some bread, and we even mentioned that to each other as we were trying to scoop up as much as we could of our dish. Later we saw that every single other table had bread. I don't know what that was about, but in general the service was a little iffy. I think our server was working with another server he was "training" (guessing here), but he didn't seem to be helping him at all, and the poor kid was pretty incompetent. However, we were in a bit of a rush to get over to see the movie, but we never felt we had to rush the staff. All in all, our food came out quickly. And while I really loved being able to sit outside and observe life on Charles Street, the smoke from the obnoxious girls at the table next to us was nearly unbearable. Of course, can't blame Tapas Teatro for that. I would give 3 1/2 stars if I could, and I am definitely willing to go back for another go some time and update my rating accordingly. Perhaps a Tuesday to give these $10 sangria pitchers a try. read more

I just moved into a new place down the street from Tapas Teatro, and will most definitely be back! Went with a couple friends on a Tuesday, for some sangria and a small bite (how perfect! small plates.) It was around 9:45, we sat outside, the weather was perfect. We L-O-V-E-D our waiter, Chris. He made us laugh, and was brutally honest about the menu, which was so very appreciated. We ordered the sauteed shrimp, the goat cheese with marinara, and a tuna plate that was on special, all three advised personally by Chris. Shrimp were killer, as were mentioned, prepared in a sautee with salty capers and hot pepper that woke your mouth up just enough. Goat cheese & marinara dish was a nice companion, with little olive oiled crostinis to soak it up (could have used more goat cheese, but I'm a fiend for the stuff so maybe I'm biased). The rare tuna thing that was on special ended up being half a hard-boiled egg, a small pepperoncini and the rare tuna, speared into a small tower. Honest opinion from the whole table: each thing in the tower was good, but could have just stood on its own. It tasted great, just wasn't the most cohesive dish in terms of flavors. The sangria at this place is THE BOMB, and right now it's only $10 per pitcher ( YAY!!!!) because they are celebrating their 10-year anniversary. We drank one pitcher of white, and followed it with two pitchers of red, because we're awesome. But I gotta say-- this stuff is sooooo effing delicious, not too sweet, and perfect for balmy Baltimore summer nights. I'm loving my new neighborhood already. read more

I came here with my parents and girlfriend over visiting Baltimore. Or the hose is the waitress were both very good and the bartender was very friendly. All in all the food was very good across the board. The flavors on all the dishes were excellent. Young girls did look a little bit dated which didn't really hurt the experience very much but it could have been better. I highly recommend anyone is in Baltimore to check this place out. The prices were also very reasonable. Recommended Dishes: Kale Salad Steak a la Plancha Mussels (big portion) Squid (amazing) Be sure to ask for more bread to soak up the delicious sauces b read more

I recently dined here with some coworkers and had a positive experience. We had a variety of different tapas and really enjoyed all of them, especially the croquettes, eggplant asado, pechuga de pollo and many others. The sangria here is also great and our server, Carina was helpful in suggesting dishes for us based on our preferences. The venue itself is classy but not overly formal and there is outdoor seating, though we sat inside as it looked like rain. They do not take reservations here, so if you're planning to dine here with a larger group, you probably want to plan accordingly. read more

Came here later on a Friday night after work for drinks and some dinner. We had a very nice table outside. The sangria was quite delicious. We shared a bunch of the tapas which I will outline below. As for the service, it was only mediocre at best. Seemed like the waiter was stretched to his limit and was very rushed. Beef ribs with chimichurro sauce - would recommend great flavor decent portion Sweet pea and cheese croquettes - i got these based on another yelp review, but didn't love them. Thought there wasn't much flavor to them. Fried calamari was your standard fried calamari decent not too greasy, served with marinara dipping sauce. Lamb meatballs, I don't eat lamb, but everyone thought they were excellent Chicken skewers with cumin sauce very delicious two full skewers. Would definitely recommend for small plates, outdoor seating and sangria. read more

This place is really nice! We only went for a drink as our reservations at a place around the corner were running late. I order a Spanish-made sauvignon blanc and my boyfriend got a red (can't remember which). They were great! The bartender who served us was really friendly, asking us about our studies and telling us that the place we were going for dinner was worth the wait! I loved the decor here, it was classically Spanish but they had it decked out for the holidays as well. So cozy! Now I really want to come back here and try out their menu items which looked very authentic and tasty! Update to follow, I hope! read more

I love this place! Went here for the first time about a year and a half ago and fell in love. A friend from work took me and I loved it from the moment I stepped inside. It's has a very warm ambiance and there is nothing better than a great atmosphere--that's 1/2 the experience. Things off the menu that are great: 1) Crabmeat and Spinach 2) Baby Potatoes 3) Sauteed Spinach 4) Beef Escalope I love the whole concept of Tapas! Go with a few people...order a few and share! However, if you're really hungry you might not want to come here because you will be dropping some mula! You also must try their Sangria!! It is delicious...perfect for a nice day and you can drink it outside...better yet wait till the Maryland Film Festival held at the Charles Theatre where you will be sure to have quite a crowd... (you can take your drinks into the Theatre) If coming during the weekends be sure to get there earlier...it can at times have a long wait...especially on Valentine's Day. I've also come here for late night drinks. It has an alright sized bar which is good if you wanna have a couple drinks in a more relaxing/trendy atmosphere read more

After hearing about how great this place was from so many people, my wife & I finally gave it a shot. It was very underwhelming. Nothing we ordered was bad, but none of it was very good. And it was kinda pricier than I expected, given the quality. I don't see what the hype is about, and it just reaffirms my belief that people in Baltimore need to get out and travel the world a bit more. read more

I've been to Tapas Teatro a few times, mostly for drinks (only once for food). The staff are pretty friendly. I wouldn't say overly friendly, but again, I've only sat down one time so that really may not be the most accurate description. Anyway, they are reasonably priced, the drinks are good and they make a great Disaronno Martini, which no one ever seems to know how to make. Unfortunately, it's been a while since I ate the food there, so I can't be too descriptive with it, but I can tell you that everything we got was delicious. The one food item that sticks out in my mind is a meatball dish (see? I can't even remember exactly what kind of meatballs they were). It was SO good! I'd definitely go back, but tapas aren't cheap so I'll go when my wallet gains a few extra bucks. read more

With a location next to the Charles Theater, and in fact a door leading right into the Theater lobby, I've tended to think of Tapas Teatro as the place you rush into to grab a quick bite before a movie. Functional, maybe a little overpriced. A non-rushed trip to this restaurant with my lovin' hub gave me a new- and better perspective. Arriving after 6 on a Sunday night, the place was packed, and not just with would-be theater- goers. There were families, young couples, super-annuated couples. A twenty five minute wait for a table was not to our liking, so we opted to eat at the bar. The bartender was super professional, evincing enthusiasm in all the right places, her attention only impeded by the sheer volume of business at the bar. Unusual brews were available for under $5 a pop-- my choice was "Buffalo Bill's Orange Blossom Ale", a west coast concoction that initially tasted like a shot of Grand Marnier had been poured into a beer but quickly mellowed into tasting refreshingly citrussy. I chose for my first plate a spinach and crab sautee that ended up being delicious, with plenty of butter and garlic for sopping up with the frequently refreshed bread. Second course was a voluminous order of calimari and marinara sauce- plenty enough to share with the hub. Despite having reservations about the calimari concept, hub really enjoyed the tender crispy rings. For his part, hub ordered a Beef Steak a la Brassa, rare, which came with a tasty red sauce and some pickled beans. Yum. My meat choice was 2 little lamb chops in a spicy rhubarb sauce. Double yum. Sitting as we were, at the bar, we were intrigued by the various whiskeys on display, and ended our meal with an apple cider and cinnamon whisky cocktail which we took into the movie theater. Yes, you can take your drinks into the movie theater. Between the luscious food, the fun ambience, the groovy jazz on the sound system and the professional staff, we had a very enjoyable dinner at Tapas Teatro. read more

Baltimore restaurants are a bit "off" when it comes to expertly prepared international fare which makes Teatro Tapas stand out even more than it would for bringing a wonderful tapas dining experience to downtown Baltimore. In general, the dishes are fairly heavy for tapas, so 3-4 to share between two people is a reasonable starting place. The menu is huge and wide ranging, so be sure to ask the super friendly wait staff if you feel torn between dishes. It's a small restaurant so go early since it does get busy. read more

Tapas Teatro, how we love this restaurant. It is our favorite go to place for a fun meal of small plates. The staff is very friendly & knowledgeable of the various foods. A carafe of the very good sangria is a great way to start the meal. With a list of specials and a wide ranging regular menu, there is something for everyone from the fritura de mariscos: Calamari, Striped bass, and Shrimp fried crispy, with fresh lemon and aioli, to Potato & cheese fritters. They also serve an excellent paella. Be warned though, Tapas Teatro is very popular and at prime time there can be quite a wait, but a comfortable wait at bar or in the lobby of the Charles where they will serve you drinks. read more

Place is just okay. It is a little pricey for what you are getting. It's nice because it's a little different compared to other restaurants in Baltimore: it is tapas and has outdoor seating. After hearing so much about this place, we decided to give it a try. They have reasonably priced sangria during Happy Hour on Tuesdays. The sangria was very sweet, but seemed limited in the fruit that was in it. We were given bread with olive oil to start, which is always nice. We could also see the chefs preparing the tapas which was a fun experience. We ordered a paella and two tapas on the side, including the steak and salmon dishes. The paella was very filling and hearty, and overall a good dish. The steak was extremely delicious and tender, and I was left wanting more of it! Very tasty and the sauce and accompanying peppers were just the right kick of spice. We left feeling satisfied and would recommend the place. read more

Wonderful lunch with good friends after Stations of the Cross at nearby St Marks Lutheran Church. Service was excellent, attentive, not rushed at all.
