I took a trip to Baltimore for a mini getaway! It's honestly a really awesome trip with Amtrak! I had wifi and I was able to work on my laptop and there were some nice views from the train! I want to get more familiar with taking buses and trains for quick trips! This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city! Located right on the water the cute restaurant sits with tons of bar top, high top and regular seating. The food here is heavenly (I've been to Cuba and the Cuban Sandwich from Little Havana tasted exactly the same as the one I had in Cuba!). Came in on a game day for the Ravens specials which included this $7 burger. The burger itself was amazing, but I didn't like the rice and beans at all. Rice had no flavor to it and the beans were definitely lacking in salt. Servers were all super nice, and it was definitely a quieter atmosphere for a game spot. I have been to Little Havana for happy hour, dinner, and private events and have always had a great time. The outdoor area is gorgeous right on the water. The drinks are STRONG here so be warned!!! The margs and mojitos are well made. They are easy to work with for private events. It's an easy place to gather friends for happy hour. Now, you may be thinking of the overcrowded waterfront development near Camden Yards. But Little Havana is on the quieter, opposite side of the harbor, near Federal Hill. If you enjoy the path less trodden, this is the place for you. And speaking of less trodden, the restaurant is a short distance from the American Visionary Arts Museum, which celebrates the creativity of self-trained artists. There is a separate window to receive orders, which makes the transaction very quick when you're in a hurry. Jerk wings are always on my order! I feel that I prefer their breakfast options more but it's definitely a preference based on what you want to eat and what you expect from a restaurant with their cuisine. The huevos Rancheros were good, but not sure they were worth the price and getting for "an eating out" meal. The chilaquiles were good and a friend got the breakfast sandwich that comes with sweet potato fries that I'll probably get next time I'm there. Service was good. The food came out fairly quickly. Had my baby shower at Little Havana in the Blue Room and it was perfect! The staff was wonderful to work with and made it so easy. The food was tasty and the bartenders made some delicious drinks. Plus they allowed us to bring in outside dessert which was great! The room opened out onto a patio, which was really just a few tables and chairs on top of rocks, nothing special but luckily it was a nice day and we had several kids there so the extra space was helpful. The bathrooms in the room were convenient but tiny! As a 7 month pregnant lady I had to maneuver to get in there. :) The free parking lot was also super helpful for our guests! read more

I checked out Little Havana for taco Tuesday with a friend. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering the establishment. I ordered the strawberry margarita which was refreshing and tasty while my friend ordered a mojito which she enjoyed. We started with the vegan avocado rolls as an appetizer at the recommendation of our server, and they were delicious. My partner booked one of Little Havana's private rooms for my 40th birthday party and they were PHENOMENAL from start to finish. In the planning phase, they were SUPER flexible with how to structure how much food to put out, open bar/ticket/bar limit pricing, and bringing outside dessert options. During the event, the food was plentiful and SO good, we had use of an AV projector so my partner could display a sweet slideshow of pictures, and the bar staff absolutely could not have been more friendly and helpful. They were attentive throughout, the space was perfect, and everyone was raving about the party. We had a group of about 75 people and I would HIGHLY recommend booking a party of that size there again! Aside from their party room, they have one of THE best Cuban sandwiches I've had, and that includes trying some in Miami. read more

Our server lily was amazing. The food was okay. The portions honestly are small. The drinks unfortunately were not that great. The mojitos were a disappointment. I'm sorry, but for being a cuban restaurant the mojitos were really bad. The margarita I could not taste the tequila at all. The appeal of Little Havana is their great waterfront location. I've always enjoyed sitting with a drink and relaxing at this venue. But their food is a no go for me. I've tried multiple things from the menu and haven't found a go-to yet. Plus their beer selection is lacking for sure. They do have good mojitos but I so rarely drink them, it's not useful for me. This was the perfect spot for brunch on a sunny, cloudless, 75° day and the views of the harbor were absolutely beautiful. The service was good, they got busy pretty quickly but we didn't wait for service, food, or drinks for very long. The avocado rolls were amazing, the peanut sauce was so flavorful and the veggies were fresh. The Santiago Wrap doesn't look like much, but it is full of egg and chorizo and was delicious with some hot sauce added on top. The BEST Sandwich is exactly as advertised, a simple breakfast sandwich, no fluff or added extras. Overall, a beautiful spot with good food at a reasonable price. read more

I've eaten here twice over the past two years and the food and wait staff were excellent. Fast forward to this year, and my daughter had her wedding reception here. Everything about it was perfect. The bartenders were responsive and quick, the food was buffet style and guests could meander during the 4 hours to go back for seconds or thirds. The food was outstanding, and the seating in the back with tables was perfect. Whenever I'm told, "We're going to Little Havanas," I'm always really happy about it. I am sorry to say this. But I am very disappointed with this establishment. My first impression was not good. None of the servers introduced themselves to me, nor did they welcome me. The hostess didn't even greet herself either. I wouldn't say the servers were downright "rude," but I did not appreciate it when the only question I was asked was, "You know what you want?". As a Cuban-American born and raised in this culture, upon looking at the menu...my heart sank. The first entrée I noticed was "Birria Tacos," followed by several more taco options (these are Mexican, not Cuban. Cubans don't typically eat this food at all). The ingredients listed are also not Cuban (jalepeňos, jamaican jerk, Pico de Gallo, to name a few). I decided to order the Vaca Frita since that is one of the few "authentic" Cuban dishes. With my order, I asked for some Cuban bread...and they brought out Pita bread...I pointed out this error in which they replied by giving me thickly Sliced hardly toasted baguette bread and was told: "Well it's pretty much the same, but I see what you mean". That sentence revealed to me how little the staff here knew about Cuban food and how little they seemed to care. Sadly, the Vaca Frita was nothing to write home about. It was served to me in a bowl with the ingredients stacked on top of each other. The beans and rice were fine, but sadly, the beef was hardly seasoned at all. I had to actually add salt myself, which I hardly ever do at restaurants. There was no Cuban flavor of garlic, onion, or anything else reminiscent of what I grew up with, just lightly salted beef. And that's not even the worst part. On their website, under the "Our Story" tab, there appears to be a portrait of Fidel Castro. Now, we are all entitled to our opinions here (unlike in Cuba), but the fact that his image is on the website of a "Cuban" restaurant in the United States may come off extremely offensive to the real Cubans that escaped his regime and suffered decades underneath it. This, mixed with the apathy/rushed attitude of the service, with the disingenuous/inappropriate menu options, the overpriced/unseasoned food, topping off with what seems to be an uncanny portrait of a man that sent millions to be exiled and murdered...for the first time in my life, I felt like my heritage was being made into a caricature; an amusement park for the people of Baltimore...and I was genuinely offended. I never leave a negative review without at least following it up with a word of encouragement. So please, be mindful of the food that you are serving and of the culture you are representing. It's ok if you want a Mexican/Cuban fusion restaurant, that's fine, but market it as such. Be honest with your patrons instead of appropriating a culture that you are not in touch with. If you want to serve Cuban food, then learn how to cook it. Most of all, be mindful of the images you include in your website as it may grievously offend the very demographic you are misrepresenting with your business. I'd say that leaving politics out of the food business is generally good advice. I'm more hurt than upset, but I want to see you improve. I recommend you learn more about the Cuban diaspora in America and take the opportunity you have as a business owner to more conscientiously represent our culture to the citizens of Baltimore. read more

Very average Mexican food. I live close so have eaten here often. This spot is just great for the view (right on the inner harbor in Baltimore with a patio outside overlooking city) and atmosphere (young crowd and good music for drinking with friends). Monday is trivia night and that's fun. Also recommend this spot to celebrate cinco de Mayo. If you want, authentic Mexican food though, I wouldn't eat here. read more
