Cool art on the walls (some for sale!)
    Adam K.

An interesting place clearly inspired by the various cuisines of the Spanish-speaking world. I would not call any of this place traditional Mexican, Salvadoran, Spanish, etc. but a lot of the food is reminiscent of those cuisines. You walk in and there's a counter, a few tables, and a fridge with some to-go desserts. Several folks were standing waiting for a to-go order. We dined in, so we walked down the narrow hallway to the back room full of booths and tables. With lots of art for sale on the walls, it's got a nice cozy vibe going on. We were there on the later end on a random Tuesday, so we were the only people there. Our waiter brought us a basket of chips and salsa and after looking over the menu, I took his suggestion to get the paella. Their paella is not a traditional paella valenciana by any stretch, but it's sort of a cross between that and a jambalaya: rice-based with shrimp, chicken, and sausage, pleasantly spicy with some veggies thrown in too. While I originally balked at the price ($28 as of this writing), it was dinner and then two more meals when I took it home; it's easily 2-3 servings, making that price less daunting. My wife got the Tapas Platter, which was a great way to sample the variety of appetizers. A tasty chicken tamal, some spinach empanada (which had a kind of "meh" dough), a cheesy pupusa, and a salchipapa (potato stuffed with ground sausage and cheese) which my wife went mad for. There is a kids menu and Child #1 opted for a cheese quesadilla which seemed standard and Child #2 opted for a burger and fries which was pretty big for a kids meal, but I'm not complaining! BYOB - they even have a sign encouraging folks to go a few doors down to the liquor store if customers want to bring something in. The service wasn't very fast, but it wasn't bad. The food was decent, but it does seem a bit streamlined, so don't come here for a big variety of street tacos or the whole gamut of pupusas. That said, it was an overall solid dining experience.

I ordered the arroz con pollo on a group order at a work function and was pleasantly surprised surprised at the amount of food that was provided. I opted to try it at home so I could fully dissect the components of the dish in peace. The combination of the pickled onions and sautéed onions on perfectly cooked rice makes the dish. The chicken is well seasoned. The salsa was a bit too salty for me but I would certainly order this dish again and have separated it into multiple meals for myself and my husband.

    Caribbean Paella

Salsa Grill is a food-tastic time! This is a MUST EAT Place! Anytime I'm in Baltimore I ensure to stop in for the Caribbean Paella. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has a mom and pops feel to it and is perfect for any occasion. The authentic flavors of the food provide for a majestic experience and are always spot on. I've tried a few things off the menu and nothing has disappointed me. I started with the Beef Empanadas which are stuffed with meat and wrapped in a perfectly baked flakey crust. These are a great way to start the meal as I am a lover of authentic meat pies. The main course selections are all enticing, however, the Caribbean Paella truly has a place in my heart. I don't eat shrimp so I order mine with No Shrimp, and replace it with Extra Chicken. (I also ask for extra onions) The chicken is always moist, meaty, and grilled to perfection. The flavor blend of the chicken and sausage deliver a happy tastebud focused experience. Furthermore, the portions are more than enough and perfectly aligned with the price point of the menu. This visit was yet another flavorful, stomach pleasing, tastebud awakening experience. Thank you to the Chef(s) for always being spot on and to the Staff for always smiling and providing an engaging and warm experience.

    Caribbean Paella

I've heard so many people rave about Salsa Grill, so I had to give them a try. I ordered two platters of the very popular Caribbean Paella, hoping that it would be enough dinner for our family of four. When I picked up my order, I was completely taken aback when they friendly lady behind the register handed me my bag. The portions size was UNBELIEVABLE! I could not believe the amount of food that they serve you for a little over 20 bucks. I almost regretted ordering two paellas, but then I remembered that this meal could last our family two days! You can probably tell by the picture, the platter mostly consisted of different kinds of meats. Shrimp, chicken, sausage, OH MY, served over the tastiest bed of Spanish rice. If you're ever looking for an affordable, yet filling meal for your family, give Salsa Grill as try.

    Caribbean Paella - excellent!

Important Details GOOD: Food, Service BAD: Price - depends on the customer Salsa Grill was a pleasent surprise. They were the lucky beneficiary that my "go to buffet" was closed tonight. A good turn of fate as my carribean paella was excellent - and heaping! The service was very good, friendly and accomodating. The Paella was fresh, varied, HUGE, and supports all the customer fanfare The menu is toward the steeper end in price given the genre and atmosphere of the restaurant. Many dishes are 14+ and most appetizers +10 The paella was 27.00. Here is the rub, if you pace yourself and leave with leftovers you feel happy and know you got two/three meals for the price. If you let loose and eat the mountain, you will be reeling from carbish coma and drop a decent amount of money for your meal. Don't do it :) Win win to leave with left overs and enjoy it the next night. Give Salsa Grill a try, the quality in food is worth it.

Now this is more like it catfish with fries and sweet potato fries I wanted to substitute but they ended up giving them to me anyway

Food was cooked fresh/made to order. Nuff said. Little pricey; but, you get what you pay for. No complaints. I like restaurants that use Grade A ingredients. You can tell. No half stepping on the "quality" of food they serve. The senoritas that work there are cutie s too!

    Taco Salad

The service was slow from start to finish. The waitress was very nice but it took a very long time before we could order, food took a while, then the waitress didn't come back to give us the check for a very long time. I ordered a taco salad and they served what looked more like nachos. This was $15. Would not recommend.

    Shrimp and Scallop (?) Alfredo
    Michelle S.

This is a great v little restaurant. Most of the time, their food is outstanding. Today I invested in what's listed as shrimp and scallop Alfredo. No scallops yet. Had this been JUST Alfredo, it would be fine. Ok but not enough seasonings to be great. However, this is Baltimore! Seafood without Old Bay is a hard NO! I expect more for the price. I'll be adding broccoli and seasoning for tomorrow's dinner. At least I got 2 meals from this investment!

The food and service here is amazing. They are a very small restaurant but they have some of the best shrimp cheesesteaks in the area.

We came here and ordered a take-out: +a cheese pupusa - this was well-made, as it had the nice crisp exterior; it came with a bag of curtido and sauce - the sauce was a great complement the pupusa, and it was thicker/chunkier than the usual +carne asada tacos - simple, tasty tacos; the carne asada was slightly overcooked, but the green spicy sauce really brought this together; I loooved the grilled scallion stalks that came on top - YUM! +horchata - probably one of the best horchatas I've had - not at all grainy, but smooth and super refreshing; comes in medium- or large-sized (get the large - you'll thank me later!) Everything was made-to-order and came out piping hot! Service was very friendly - for a carry-out, you just order up at the cashier and wait for your order to be ready. There were also many patrons who called ahead for a pick-up. I'd love to try their seafood pasta next time, as well as return for their tacos/pupusas/horchata! Plenty of seats inside, and plenty of parking in the strip plaza lot. Easily accessible off of Powers Lane. +good, simple tacos +great green spicy sauce! +good pupusas! +yummy horchata! +friendly service! +plenty of parking

I was craving tamales, I'm from the south, and thought this would do the trick. It didn't, completely different. But that was my own failed wishful thinking. I love Latin American food and everything was ok to me. I could tell it was all homemade and the soup was my favorite. The tres leches was different from what I'm used to. It didn't have as much extra milk and it had peaches. It was ok but I prefer the regular way better. Would I came back? Yes and try the tacos and maybe the chicken. Plus like I said the customer service was outstanding! And next time I think I'll eat in the restaurant instead of taking it to go.
