    Steak tacos Mexicanos
    Anita T.

Went here on a whim during the second wave of COVID. Hubby and I were looking for something we could carry out and eat in the car-yes, it's been "a thing" recently. We tired to order chicken and steak tacos (3) but were told we couldn't combine. It had to be either chicken or steak. Huh? Why not? Well, I ordered steak. They had a nice presentation in the container, and came with salsa verde and amarillo sauce( the stuff that looks like thousand island dressing). The flavor was good, but not superb. They weren't super stingy with the meat, but weren't overly generous either. Hubby's chicken burrito was stuffed full of chicken, rice, black beans, and more. He thoroughly enjoyed it. I think they are a little overpriced though. Sides are extra. And although we ordered a side of green beans, they weren't in the take out bag. Sigh. We did go back after eating and got a refund for them. It is worth a shot-especially if you want the Peruvian chicken. I've tried it before and it's good/generously portioned. Tacos? If you are used to the best, it's a good idea to pass on them at Gran Pollo.

    Salmon and Brussels
    Denise W.

Salmon was perfection. Moist and crispy on the outside. Not dry at all. Brussels sprouts were tender and crispy too. The chicken was juicy and seasoned well.

1/2 chicken with fried rice and plantain

Food was very delicious, prepared quickly. Chicken well seasoned and tasty. Red potatoes amazing. Only complaint, the plantains were not fresh.

Really good quality ingredients. The fish is fresh and portions are very good for the price.

Happy Hour Alert!…read more First, why did I take so long to check out this gem?! Well, I'm glad that I finally did because my Happy Hour experience was fantastic!!!!! No reservations made, we made the decision to visit at the spur of the moment and the hostess was very accommodating. Shoutout to our incredible waitress Maria! Thank you for your recommendations and hospitality. Happy Hour- the prices and the portions are beautifully matched in that they were affordable and generous in serving. Drinks: I ordered the passion fruit margarita which was AMAZING! The liquor to passion fruit juice ratio was spot on and the drink had a little smokiness to it, thanks to the dried fruit added on top. My next drink was the white sangria which was okay but I think that my experience with the margarita made it hard for me to enjoy this drink right after. It wasn't bad, just wasn't my favorite like the margarita was lol My last drink was the espresso martini (not on the HH menu). This drink was worth every penny and now added to my top 20. Food: Spicy creamy shrimp- a dish so delicious, we ordered another one. The crunch on the shrimp set the tone for the burst of flavor to follow. The shrimp was fresh and the flavors combined so well. Mejillones en curry, which came with a slice of blue corn bread, was absolutely delicious! The curry sauce was such a hit that we talked about it long after dinner ended. Using it as a dipping sauce for the blue corn bread was also a good touch. This dish was creamy and the mussels were delicious and fresh. Brussel sprouts- a fun play on roasted Brussels with a delectable peanut butter sauce added. This was another fav, pretty much all of the food was phenomenal but this dish left you wanting more. Lastly, we had the Tostada de Cangrejo which was perfectly topped with crabmeat. The crabmeat was sweet, I cannot explain but the sweet succulent taste was complimented by the creamy guacamole. To conclude an amazing time, we tried their Tres Leches cake and I would say that I didn't like the whipped cream topping but I loved the cake itself. Overall, I had an incredible time. The ambiance was simply beautiful, grown, and sexy. The food was impeccable! And the drinks were divine!

Time to pull a quick 180. My last review praised this little Latin American/Caribbean joint because…read moreit was bold enough to say our town was over inundated by taco jawns. Also colloquially known as taquerías. And now I find myself just LOVING the P. Rosel for its tacos. Yes, we have a million kajillion taco shops in like a three mile radius. But they are all so freakin' good! I don't think having a million places that can dish out a top notch taco is necessarily a bad thing. I guess it gets kinda boring and redundant after awhile, but when you're craving a taco, it ends up being a blessing. Now, I know these tacos are authentic, because they are served with stuff that I would never expect to be served with a taco. Like, a side of cucumber slices? And sliced radishes? Also, we have legit Mexican cheese here. Queso fresco. No pepper Jack here. I think that's what most Americans put on their homemade tacos. Some sort of cheddar. Pepper Jack if they're feisty. That's about as exotic as they go when it comes to cheese. Ok, ok, they sometimes use feta. "Oh hey, I made a Greek salad! It's a mix of Romaine lettuce and fried chicken, croutons, and FETA CHEESE! TOTALLY GREEK!" In addition to a little taco sampler, I had snag some fajitas. Chicken was on the dry side, but I liked that they gave me a nice side of lettuce and pico de gallo. No sour cream, unfortunately. I'm serious about this - if you can find a Mexican place that serves a complimentary side of sour cream with fajitas or basically any entree, CHERISH THEM. Sour cream, as we we all know, as gone the way of guacamole. It's now a "premium" side that will cost you sometimes $1 or more. I'm pretty sure 10 years ago, restaurants were GIVING out sour cream because that shit sits in those commercial fridges so long, they NEED to give it away before it goes bad. But now we have to spend that stimulus money on those upsells that were once not a privilege, but a right. The last dish I got was the Molcajete Ranchero. I thought I knew what "Ranchero" meant until this stage in my life. It apparently doesn't have anything to do with ranch dressing. This is one of their specialty dishes. Or maybe they just have amazing SEO. But when I Googled "Molcajete Ranchero," Paraiso Rosel was the first hit. Sadly, I think they screwed up my order. On their website, the description says it's grilled nopal with a bunch of other stuff. What is nopal, you ask? Well, it's cactus leaves, duh. I feel like the cactus leaves would have added a whole other dimension. HAHAH, who am I kidding. I'm just complaining about the lack of something that I probably wouldn't have liked anyway. I'm complaining that something wasn't there, but if it was there, I'd complain about it because I would have thought the texture was "icky' or something. Now I know why restaurant owners pull their hair out when they read these reviews. Alright, so my final take. Would I order from here again? I mean, probably? As mentioned before, we just have so many really great Mexican restaurants. And for real for real, I want to try them all. So it takes a helluva lot for me to re-order from a place when in the back of my mind I want to try a new place. Like, my time on this earth is limited, you know? I have high blood pressure. I drink too much. There's people still walking around without masks. I could croak any minute. Now listen, if I lived within walking distance of this place, I'd go three times per week, easy. But a man's gotta live. I may never be back, but this was a meal I'll never forget (even if I never got to experience grilled cactus leaves).

Oh. My. Goodness. When I say this meal was life-changing, I'm not being dramatic…read more I was in Reading for work travel, and not super familiar with the food offerings in the area. I did a quick DoorDash search and came across this place. I've been wanting to try birria tacos after the recent surge in popularity (thanks, TikTok), so this seemed like a great opportunity to do so. I ordered the birria tacos with a side of rice. The delivery came super quickly and the food was still piping hot when it arrived. And my life was quickly changed. These tacos are INSANE. A super crispy corn tortilla filled with the most flavorful beef I have ever had. It's a complex flavor profile - sort of spicy, sort of sour, savory, salty, bright, DELICIOUS. And when you dip it in the consommé, which is provided complimentary on the side? Nirvana. I was absolutely stuffed, but I couldn't stop eating until I had totally cleaned my plate. The rice was also fluffy and tasty. I have tried to make my own birria tacos since this, but just can't replicate it. I'll definitely be eating here again as soon as I'm back in town.

I made my owner online and it was very easy to do. The owner was so nice while we waited for our order. There is metered street parking available for this restaurant and I did not have an issue finding a spot. I personally ordered the Greek Philly. I was was thoroughly impressed with my food. First, the portion size was huge. I could not finish it in one sitting. Second, it came with a huge salad, which I was not expecting. The salad was delicious, the Philly was delicious. The fries.....not so much. They were crispy and hard. The salad and Philly were both tasty and packed with flavor. I cannot say enough about this place. They have a wide assortment of food including gyros, salads, soups, wraps, paninis, burgers, skewers/kabobs mezza, and antipasti. They also have worldwide booze, including imported beers. Outside feels like a complete different place (so pick indoor seating). Second, the staff is very friendly. We ordered several of their appetizers for our group and they were all delicious. Their kabab plates were a hit. They also offered a good selection of drinks. Minor thing, and it is from personal experience only: their menus are printed on black paper and in a plastic sleeve. Reminds me of the bad touristy places in Europe. It did not represent how good the food was, because usually we run away from this Massive Plastic menus... so I Joel one day they will update them to something nicer for a better first feel.
