    Dominican Platter
    Sarah S.

this is part of R house, a food hall/community center in remington. they mostly do empanadas, but i'm a fan of their lemonades and platters. i got the dominican platter with roast chicken, which came with rice, a salad, plantains, and two large pieces of chicken. the chicken was cooked very well, it was juicy and had crispy skin. the plantains (as most other reviews point out) are really well done and very tasty. everything isn't too seasoned but is still very flavorful, which in my opinion denotes good cooking. the lemonades are large and tart too. i find myself craving the dominican platter often, and will be back to get it again.

So delicious shrimp and crab empanadas wish I got two. Service was great. It's in a food court at R House.

I was at R House a couple of weeks ago and ordered empanadas and maduros as a snack. I had a little bit of an ice cream craving but decided not to get a scoop because... balance lol Fast forward to this past weekend... I specifically went to R House for a side of maduros from Tio G's to pair with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream from Taharka Brothers. It was SOOOO good. Highly recommend trying this combo

I've been here a few times and the empanadas certainly hit every time!!!! They don't go wrong. The lemonade & service is good too. Nice chill vibe, the service feels familiar like a cousin serving you their favorite snack! would highly recommend

    Empanada with mango lemonade

The beef and chicken empanada fillings are flavorful. The chicken was seasoned perfectly. The beef could be better, but it was still good, and I would order it again. They were perfectly fried, crispy, and not grease. The mango lemonade was fresh and delicious.

Dominican platter - rice, salad, roasted pork, and tostones.
    Frankie L.

Great food, great prices. I ordered the Dominican platter with roasted pork. Everything was flavorful. It usually comes with sweet plantains, but they substituted tostones. I'm glad they did because the tostones were perfectly crispy. I'm posting this because I was looking for photos of this menu item and couldn't find any. Customer service is top notch.

    Steak & Cheese empanada

This place was my first stop after we dumped our luggage at the hotel. The empanadas were very filling and flavorful. I was surprised at how heavy my to-go box was. Big pieces of shrimp and real crab in the seafood one and plenty of tender steak and gooey cheese in the other. Really fantastic service from the guys working! They even gave us recommendations of other places to visit in Charm City. I would stop here again if I visit Baltimore a second time.

chicken empanada with rice and salad

Had the chicken empanada and it was delicious! The red sauce that came with it was WOW 10/10. I love how the food isn't too oily! Def recommend this restaurant if you're looking for good empanadas in Baltimore.

I'm a Dominican who moved to MD from NYC/Washingon Heights (95% of that area's restaurants are…read more Dominican-owned and staffed so the food is like eating at home). I regularly order carryout from CDM (live too far for delivery) and if you are looking for some amazing mofongo, pork belly, carne guisada, etc. look no further! The menu is not very extensive but that means they can focus on the items they serve so everything is good - I've tried several "Dominican" restaurants in the area and have never gone back to any of them. Pls note that while they have dine-in space this is a place you go to for the food and amazing service - there's a lot that can be done to elevate the ambiance to minimize the "carryout"' vibe, but the food and service (and passion fruit mojitos!) are amazing so it's worth it..

Im part Rican, and let me tell you its not many Rican or Dominican restaurants in the DMV. The ones…read morethat I've been to have been a disappointmented. Im start with the good stuff.. The Sancocho is amazing. Its a hearty meat stew that in my family we call it the hang over soup or the feel better soup. Growing up if I had the flu or a cold my mama would whip this up. Their soup was good... but I wish it had tripe and more meat in the stew and a bit more seasonings. Would i order it again? Probably not. Mofongo. Something that I absolutely love.. It didn't taste fresh.. the chiacharrones ( fried pork cracklings) was not crispy :( The saving grace was their chicken guisado.. a very hearty chicken stew ... that was a chef kiss. The employees are great. But if your looking for delicious Mofongo.. ita in lower east side NYC..
