    Trifongo - Pork
    Athena A.

A co worker recommended this place to me and I'm happy she did. This is located in a small strip off Reisterstown Rd. The parking is located in the back of the strip plaza. ORDER: Trifongo (Pork) - Pork, Platains, Yuca mixed together to perfection. The dish is complimented with bite size pork bits and garlic sauce (the best sauce ever). Very good Trifongo! Bisteak - Perfectly cooked steak with onions accompanied by rice and a side of beans. One of the best bisteaks I've had. I'm not a bean person but these beans were really delicious. Service was good. Food took awhile to come out but worth the wait. We plan to come back or possibly order take out.

The ambiance was great and felt just at home. The was 10/10 and the service was great. We ordered and received our food in no time. There's options to eat in restaurant or take out. They have a wide array of options on their menu but it does change depending on the day. They also sell Dominican sodas which is a rare find in MD. Overall I would definitely return and recommend others come as well

First time here after craving Dominican food and it served me well. Ordered beef empanadas, oxtail strew and chicken stew. It came with rice and beans. I had to order from strew menu items since they didn't have whole chicken which is what I originally wanted. The front desk person was really nice and welcoming, didn't look like there's much of a crowd. Definitely coming back again once they have full menu available

    My finished masterpiece. Yum!

Being from NY I'm used to having a variety of cuisines to try and I was in the mood for some Dominican food which until that day didnt know Maryland had lol. If you look up Hispanic restaurants most you get is Mexican so I you could imagine my excitement when I found this place. There isn't anything that stands out from the outside of the restaurant. If you were in NY there would be some OG Dominican men playing dominoes outside while Reggaeton is blasting lol but I digress. Inside is ok I did here some festive music playing which took me back to my actual visits in DR. The seating is restaurant style and an option to take your food to go if you walk to the counter. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of options to choose from as food seemed limited either because enough wasn't prepared or I got there too late. The restaurant was empty except for a woman disputing an online order she placed that was wrong. A nice woman came over to me and asked me what I wanted. I went with oxtails and rice and peas. The way she packed it was much different from what I'm used to. Usually I would get all the food in the same tin plate but she put all the rice in the tin and a seperate container for the oxtails. This was great because it was alot of food lol. I got home and this food was everything I had missed for so long. The oxtails were nice and tender with grainy peas and rice topped with the oxtail gravy. Yum yum yum! I'm glad I took a menu and to eliminate any issues with my order like some people have I would just go in person because the food is really good. The prices are reasonable and the amount of food you receive will be enough for two meals.

About flavor , This is not even close to a Dominican Restaurant. Only one lady's was taking orders on-site and by phone. No music , restaurant was too dark inside. The good is they have rear parking.

I drove 25 min not that long , but wanted to try the place Food was tasty, little salty but good I had mofongo with shrimp My daughter asked for white rice , bean with pernil and plantain ( Tostones) She was disappointed The got her yellow rice with beans inside and pernil wasn't tender Appetizers empanadas didn't look fresh The desert chocolate cake was frozen Parking on the rear of location didn't look safe for me Employees Need more enthusiasm towards the customers

    The oxtail was everything

Delicious food. Stew chicken, oxtail, to the pork menu. You'll be asking for more. Check out the daily specials as well.

Price: The pricing, for the portion size was quite good. It certainly won't leave you hungry or unsatisfied. Experience: The staff mainly communicate using Spanish, however they understood the necessary English and took steps to accommodate. The ambiance of the interior was quite casual, a classic small restaurant dine in experience. Taste: The soup held a thick broth texture, and the seasoning was excellent. While it does lean a little on the dopamine hit of heartiness and salt imbuing taste, the crunchy heat of the Arepas, soup, and Cachaba de Carne Mechada was surprisingly welcoming. A wonderful taste of Dominican cuisine in the midst of Greektown. Probably will come back to try more, especially after a great deal of movement.

Counter style eatery. The woman who served me was so sweet and walked me through all the options they had for the day. There were about 3 customers ahead of me getting their "usual" which was a good sign. The portions are pretty generous! I got the arroz con gandules, pernil, and biste for $16. PERFECTION! The tournament is again next year so I know where I will be coming to eat.

Note that if you aren't familiar with the location, you might miss it as there's no major signs from the road. But it's inside the same complex of a lightbulb store and hair salon, with plenty of parking! Though a small restaurant front, it's kept very clean with a humble but inviting ambiance. Food is almost served cafeteria style for their staples: arroz con guandules, pernil, carnitas, plantains, etc. Their deep fried foods (e.g. empanadas, yuca frita, etc) are in a little heater fridge. I've tried their weekend specials like chivo (goat stew), but my absolute favorite dish to get is the tres golpe! This they made fresh upon order! Though tres golpe is commonly had for breakfast, I love having it any time of the day given that it's savory and plentiful in portion! It includes two pieces of fried cheese, fried salami, fried egg, and the best mangu (mashed plantains) I've ever had! Pair it with a freshly made cup of morir soñando? You're set. This is my favorite Dominican spot and I highly recommend it! They do well with ordering for pickup and food keeps well even when you order delivery! Though my brother-in-law is Puerto Rican and not Dominican, he will sometimes crave food from the Caribbean. He argues this spot has food that is probably the closest thing you can get to eating directly on the island itself! Staff were very kind and, as a previous reviewer pointed out, fluent in both English and Spanish. When we visited in-person, the restaurant was clearly a popular spot for folks in the community to pick up food to-go for lunch! I highly recommend you try this place out and support this local business!
