This review is long overdue. Tami was the first person to beautify my nails when I first moved to SoCal. I've been to many others since then these past couple of years, and after checking out a couple of salons in downtown Long Beach, to no satisfaction and constant disappointment, I decided to return to my roots this evening. Tami's salon is simple, comfortable, clean, and bursting with life. All of the technicians are eager to please and accommodate my every woe and whim. I'm simple, however extremely particular. Tami's boasts plenty when in comes to that. She has a polish and style for everyone. The locals are loyal to her, with great reason. She's meticulous, kind, caring, skillful, passionate and full of life, sass, and spunk. I doubt that there is ever a boring day in that salon. The results? I showed up to her nearly two years since my last visit without an appointment, and she remembered me. She and the other lovely ladies of the salon welcomed me and my terribly damaged mess of nails at the very last moment(within half an hour of closing) with warm and keen attention. I know now that I would be insane to bother getting my nails done anywhere else, again. Despite the plentiful options in my own neighborhood, I believe Tami's is definitely worth the trip. Finally got my nails done for the first time since the pandemic and it was tough to find a salon that was safely open, but I sure am glad I found Tami! Everything is set up outside with plastic dividers to separate the technician and client. Tammy works too fast and for as much as you tell her square they still don't come out square. Pedicures not recommended. They really don't do anything to your toes or feet other than wash them and add polish. The lady doesn't even square the the nails. Went a few times because I gave them the benefit if the doubt but didn't like them the last time. I paid $100 for full set and pedi and ended up taking my nails off 5 days later and had to go somewhere else to get a pedi 2 days later. no thank-you. ended up spending 150 in less than a week on full set and Pedicure. read more

I asked for a gel polish removal with a buff. What I got was weak, short, and stubby nails with remnants of my old gel polish. The lady had no idea what she was doing, kept dropping the electric file all over the place. My nails used to be naturally beautiful and strong, and now I have to wait for them to grow out before they're not paper-thin anymore. She tried to charge me nearly $25 for all of this too. Ended up only paying $15 after complaining, but I should have just saved the money and did them at home instead. UPDATE: it is the day after my manicure and my nails have never hurt so bad.
