We got here at the right time! Short line and as soon as we got to order a long line formed behind us- must be pretty poplular. They had a good amount of options for whatever you are craving. The server taking my order at the front was super friendly. I ordered the soecial drink of the day which was the Coconut Margarita- great size and salt on the rim! I will say I did not taste coconut at all but either way it was delicious. Food I ordered tacos of course- Tacovore- lol. Got 2 Carnitas and 1 Seafood special which was the Ahi Tuna. The seafood special was tender and juicy- my favorite. Carnitas had more of a crispy texture and tasted like a barbecue taco- not bad just not what I was expecting for carnitas. This place never disappoints. Worth the wait in line. Food comes fast to the table. We hit it every time we are in town.

Tacovore is typically not my first choice, but I have accompanied others many times over the years. The tacos are average. I always grab a fork and knife because they fall apart on a greasy slab of paper. They're difficult to eat by hand. The spicy margaritas are a draw and are their only redeeming quality in my opinion. While I understand the establishment only wants actively paying customers at their tables, their policy enforcement is just bizarre. (See other reviews.) We were sitting at a back table with only one other person in that section. An abrasive employee rudely confronted the other gentleman who sat down with waters. The gentleman pointed and explained that his girlfriend was at the counter ordering for them. The worker was intent on kicking that man out of his seat even though the restaurant was not busy (plenty of tables) and they were paying customers! He insisted the man vacate the table and stand next to his partner for a mere minute. Meanwhile, I had to get up and ask for our chips and guacamole because the power-tripping worker returned to the kitchen with them in his hand (too busy scolding the other guy). Servers will drop off your food, but will rarely pick up an empty basket or glass. I'm not sure why I tend to tip 20% in places that couldn't care less about service. My biggest concern about Tacovore is sanitation and cleanliness. They handle money, then turn around and serve your drinks without washing their hands. I cringe as they grab the limes, touch the rims of the glasses, and hand me straws by the tips. I once saw a cook in the kitchen drop handfuls of food in his mouth. The restrooms are always beyond gross with piss all over the floors. Lots of people seem to love Tacovore. I wish they'd step their game with better service and sanitation/hygiene. read more

They can be very busy especially on weekends, but the customer service is great and the tables honestly clear out pretty quick. Someone came by taking drink orders while we waited in line for food. The line was quite long so we were able to sip on our drinks while working our way up to the register. Get the bean and cheese taco! The coconut braised black bean concoction is insane, and pairs wonderfullly with the salt in the cheese and tang of the pickled red onion. Mushroom taco is huge- serrano does give it a kick, wish shrooms were cut into smaller bite size pieces. Carnitas- loaded with meat and the crema was a great touch. read more

This was an awesome stop in downtown. You walk up and order, they give you a number and run the food out to you. We had an awesome Tequila drink and close to one of each taco. The tacos had a ton of the protein on them. The black beans were "Oregon Black Beans", between me and you they're pretty normal black beans but I personally wasn't expecting anything special. They had the local games on over the bar and a alt playlist which we both enjoyed and seemed the fit the crowd as well. 5/5 definitely stop here! read more

Eat here. Seriously. Make the 15 or whatever minute drive from where you are in Eugene and eat here. The Carnitas are delectable, but they also do a mean fish taco, and their veggie mushroom option is great. I like to mix the mushroom and the carnitas... The adult beverages are bespoke, but they can make whatever you want and their beer selection is good. Inside and outside seating. Clean bathrooms kitchen. Reusable plates and cutlery. I was visiting friends in Oregon and found this place on Yelp. I've been to Eugene before this trip but this was my first time trying Tacovore. To be honest, I don't match the excitement of other reviewers on this place. Maybe it's because I just recently came back from Mexico and had the best shrimp tacos of my life, but I really wasn't jazzed about the shrimp tacos from Tacovore. I'll start with the good aspects...we came on a Monday night so it wasn't terribly busy, but still a decent little crowd. You order at the counter so I can't say much about the service other than they were friendly and the food came out SUPER fast. That's pretty much where my positives end. I ordered two shrimp tacos and a horchata (which I was really excited about, but then promptly disappointed). The horchata wasn't blended. Like, at all. As in, the first sip I took was a mouthful of dry spices. It was like doing the cinnamon challenge. Even after mixing the drink up a whole bunch, every time I took a sip it was just clumps of powdery, not incorporated spices. Clearly not prepared properly. The shrimp tacos basically had zero flavor. Now, I don't tolerate a lot of heat in my food, but I definitely still would have appreciated a little bit of spice with these tacos. There was none. Even a couple lime wedges might have gone a long way, but they weren't provided. They needed help. I didn't want to finish them which is saying a lot, because I love good tacos! These just totally missed the mark. Rubbery shrimp and completely flavorless. My friend agreed that her tacos lacked flavor as well. P.S. The bathroom there is absolutely disgusting. The place itself feels clean enough, but the bathroom is something else. I don't want to talk about what I saw in there, but it needs attention, badly. If I hadn't lost my appetite by then, I for sure did after experiencing that bathroom. I would not come back here. read more

Unimpressed. I tried the Old E, Tempeh chorizo, and the mushroom tacos. I'm always interested in testing vegetarian/vegan options but wanted a meat variety (Old E) to balance out. The tacos looked great, tasted...meh. 3 stars for their crispy chips and guac, fast arrival of food from order time (weekday lunch hour and with a party of 7), and that they have lots of outdoor seating. I was hearing really good things about this place a had to check it out for myself, it definitely lived up to the reviews. I got chips and guac and two tacos (shrimp and carne asada), I was wondering if this would be enough but they fill the tacos so full this was plenty! The tacos were great, the tortilla game wasn't as strong as I would have hoped, and one of my tacos broke on the first bite, but I managed. They also had some of the best (and spiciest) salsa options I've ever seen! The service was so fast, I was waiting for my friend to order after me and they were already bringing me some of my food. They have tons of vegan/vegetarian options as well so it is a great spot for everyone. The margaritas were very flavorful as well, I got the blueberry one and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've always enjoyed eating at Tacovore! Great ambience, delicious food, fun options with specials that make one want to come back and see what's going on. The place is lively and and has an exciting bustle to it Indoor seating at rows of nice wood tables for more of a cafeteria atmosphere and outdoor seating under a canopy at tables. Creative ideas well implemented. They have a bar with mojitos, beer, and I'm not sure what else. Anyway it's a great place to grab lunch! read more

I'm new to the area, and Tacovore was the first recommendation I was given for good local food. Tried it out and honestly, it's definitely really good Mexican-American fusion. That being said, it's pretty pricey too. The restaurant itself is a bit loud & parking is a little nightmare-ish but the decor is cute & I could see it being a good first date spot. Just be prepared to spend at least $30-$40 for a meal & one drink. Service was fast and friendly thought which is nice! read more

I'm going to say something that might get me kicked out of the Whit: Tacovore is meh. It's not like they don't try, they do. They make the usual things like asada and carnitas. The vegetarian options are appreciated. They have daily specials, Jamaican jerk chicken? Huh? They pickle onions, which is nice. Several hot sauces are available, which is nice too. But it all just comes out bland. Like no bite, no heat, no acid. The place is exciting, the food looks exciting, but the flavor of these tacos is just forgettable. It's a shame. And yet, people rave about it. That's baffling. It all just winds up bland, a big disappointment. Why do people come back? There are literally three places right here on Blair that make simple, authentic tacos, like excellent. Why stop here? So A for effort, D for execution. This isn't tasty. read more

Just what my friends and I needed on a hot spring day! As a vegetarian, I recently discovered that a lot of Mexican restaurants around time typically cook their rice in chicken stock, but not Tacovore! They had AMAZING vegetarian options. If you're vegan or vegetarian, you know all too well that often times you go into a taco joint and they have maybe one or two veggie options but Tacovore had such a variety! I got a Bean and Cheese Taco as well as the Tempeh Chorizo Taco and they were to die for! I was worried at first that 2 might not be enough but they are much bigger than your average street taco. The whole table also made sure to start with some Chips and Guacamole and margaritas of course! I got the coconut passion fruit marg and I kid you not it tasted just like a creamsicle:))) I also think it's important to mention that these people are SPEEDY with their food making. We ordered in groups to save a table and my friends food was ready before they even made it back to the table! This place is definitely a new favorite of ours! read more

Awesome vegan options! There was a line for ordering all the way to the front door when we arrived around 630 on a Fri, but it went faster than you'd think. Solid tacos but the Carnitas are worth dreaming about. Counter service -you order and they bring your food to you. Three tacos is pretty filling for one person. Happy hour prices of 50 cents off each taco from 3 to 6 pm everyday. We got 6 tacos for under 20 bucks. Solid place - full bar too - Can get loud. Parking is tight not sure if there is another lot nearby as we were visiting from out of town. TIp: watch out for the seeded jalapenos in the carnitas taco - mine had a lot and can definitely clear out those sinuses rather quickly. Their menu suits our diverse palettes and dietary preferences. Thus far my favorite tacos have been the pescado and crispy tofu. Simply delicious. After dropping our daughter off at UO, we were looking for a place to grab lunch and stumbled across Tacovore on Yelp. My wife opted for the ceviche, i went with a chicken taco and let me tell you we were both astounded at how good the food was! She says it was the best ceviche she's ever had in her six decades. The fact that there's a bar helps - the top shelf 'rita didn't disappoint and the beer was hoppy and ice cold.
