Dinner at Chula's was an all around pleasant experience! We went for happy hour and for $45 we got two beers, two margaritas, 4 tacos, queso dip, and fried ice cream. I'm not sure where else you get that much food for that price anymore AND it was all good. My only note would be that the tacos really need some kind of sauce on them. I got the carnitas and the al pastor and the meat was good but I did put a lot of hot sauce on them. For someone like me, the blended margaritas here are perfect. They tasted sweet but not like cheap margarita mix. Mind you, I don't like a strong margarita so my taste might not line up with yours but I enjoyed them. read more

This restaurant was recommended to me by the staff at the Graduate Hotel. The food was amazing, service good, and a very casual atmosphere. My first job was as a dishwasher in a Mexican restaurant in 1981. I worked 6 days a week from 4pm to 10pm and was the only worker who spoke English. At the end of my shift the cook would ask me what I would like for dinner. For a solid 6 months I ate chicken enchiladas with a side of rice and beans. I never got tired of it. Naturally I had to order the enchiladas which were reminiscent of El Rincon in Rohnert Park, CA. They were not fancy. No cactus, no mole, no Tex Mex bullshit, just plain solid authentic Mexican food. Unfortunately I was only in town for one night and live 2500 miles away. Next time I am in town I will find my way back to Chula's. Nicely done folks. Your staff is great and food outstanding. Best bean and cheese burrito of my life. So simple yet creamy and satisfying. Don't you dare leave without getting the flan and I HATE custard so I was skeptical but oh my oh my!! Heaven in a bowl!! Extremely hot day in Eugene, but we managed to find this restaurant which was close to our motel. Pretty excited to what was to come when I saw the parking lot full. We both ordered enchiladas with shredded beef and mole sauce. The dinners came with the usual rice and beans and both were well prepared. The enchiladas were full of shredded meat with no fat or gristle ! The sauce was some of the best we've ever had, chocolaty and with just the right of spice. Our drinks were also excellent! Horchata, for me and a well made Margarita for her! Service was for the most part efficient even though 3 people brought us different things including the the check. We ate in the bar so not really sure about the ambiance. That said there was music and it wasn't too loud so we were able to have a conversation! My shredded pork enchiladas meat look like it was a day old it was hard dry and disgusting. Food is enjoyable fare, though i like it better when eating there, as opposed to picking up food. I had one bad experience with picking up food. First time, part of the order was separated and not given to me. When i went back, they provided the rest of the order (which included nachos ordered with no guacamole; but, unfortunately, there was guacamole on it, which i did not discover until after i went home the second time). Caveat emptor and all that. I know it is on me to check, though it is nice to be able to trust the restaurant to have an accurate order. I have learned a life lesson to doublecheck orders i pick up at Chula's. I will probably continue to order pickup, but i will need to check the order from now on. read more

Very disappointed during my last few visits. Customer service has been lacking, attention to detail diminishing and missing ordered items. I always get the Mexican chicken BLT salad.
