Rude patrons. Food was cold. Pretzels were stale. Cheese sauce was inedible. Fries were cold. Bartenders were rude as well. Nachos were cold and we asked them to reheat them, they were taken to the back and some ritual nacho reheating ceremony took place. It did not work and they didn't even bother to microwave them. My dad said they were "the worst nachos he has ever had in his life" and he is not a picky eater at allll. We ended up sending them back and got them taken off the bill. The tv set up is good but the two giant wires block a lot of the view of the biggest screen. I don't think I would return here. read more

We have no idea why this spot has only 3/5 stars. We are gonna fix that. My husband and I took a 17 mile bike ride. Time for cold brews. The day before a duck game. It was about 330 pm. Dead quiet as far as patrons though the staff was gearing up for the game against Fresno State. We enjoyed a few beers. The staff was super chatty despite their preparations ahead with an early start on Saturday morning. Think 530 am for an 11 am game. Yikes! We shared we are from Columbus and we look forward to welcoming them to the Shoe next week. GO BUCKS! We loved the cold brew and company. This place is FUN! You'll love it. read more

Was craving a late night snack and this place was very close to the hotel. Ambled over for some fries and onion rings. They were pretty good. This is a country and western bar with a dance floor. Was not very crowded, and the folks were mostly dancing and we were able to find a table easily. Ordered at the bar and food was served at the table relatively quickly. We went last week to sing karaoke and the bartender was on his phone CONSTANTLY, never even put it down to make a drink! We gave him the benefit of the doubt that maybe something serious was happening. When we went back this week, he was just flat out RUDE! My friends & I travel all over the US and have been to hundreds of bars that teach lessons. My friends and I have been there for Country night and decided last week would be the last time if it didn't improve. They finally had a professional dance instructor teaching lessons and we loved it. She was sober, nice and really good. Last few weeks, the young people teaching are not professional, and do not engage with the students and don't take time for beginners to learn. We hope she will be consistently back teaching or we wont be there. I asked her name and she said Deborah, I believe she is part of a country band in town called Outlaw Shine but it was too loud to talk to her. We will be there with friends when she is there... so much fun. The food was good, drinks are strong. Dance floor is small. read more

I've come here for over 30 years. Always felt it was my "home bar" with friendly neighborhood feel. Staff were pleasant and always had excellent service. While the food and beverages are still great, the staff are unfriendly- and do the minimum to make you feel welcomed. Came in n your watch the Duck women play in NCAA tourney- no effort made to make it a fun atmosphere. Sad to see this in our university town. It doesn't hurt to make an effort. read more

Visited late on a Saturday evening and to my surprise they had live music. The bartender was very attentive to my drink order and ready to give recommendations based on the type of drinks desired. After sitting at the bar and having a drink I sat in the seating area a couple of steps up from the dance floor and was immediately greeted by Mackenzie our waitress who was equally attentive and recommended her favorite IPA (Boneyard) which was quite delicious. Might I mention the fries? You want to talk about a late night snack? These curly fries are huge and filling(and I eat a lot). This is a fun wide open bar. It's a great place to go to if you like to play pool or just watch some sports. You can even bring the youngsters before 8 pm. (Don't know if it's that's your thing but I have seen children in there, hey maybe somebody didn't have a sitter) The best thing is their signature fish bowl drink. I took my daughter in law in there for her birthday and she was so impressed with how big that drink was. The bartender was so friendly, she told us on your 21st birthday they give you a fish bowl drink for free. How cool! read more

Called at 9am this morning to see if they allowed minors. The man on the phone assured me that minors would be allowed until 8pm. After driving through traffic all afternoon and paying for parking, the men at the front told us we could not bring my sister in that was underage, and that the "girls who answered the phone this morning were wrong". No apologizes, no explanation, and falsely blaming it on a pretend woman that didn't exist. I wouldn't have cared if minors were not allowed, just do not give the wrong information on the phone and be rude about it after we've obviously been inconvenienced because of it. Would've been my first time going there, but will make sure never to do so after that horrible customer service. There are far more deserving places in Eugene/Springfield to get a person's service. read more

Security let me walk right by and I went to sit at the bar and then 2 white dudes walked up and said we're closed, no reason just "GO. I I looked at my watch and said, lame. What's not to like about this spot? I loved it. It's very Gilly's from that cowboy movie... only not really. But it's old school for sure. Old folks, big hair, and perfectly friendly. Early on a weekday, my man and I looked for a place and he knew this one already. You have no idea what you're getting into. Inside, you have no idea what outside looks like save one small window at the way back. The place is big but very little of it is tabled - or was on this day.It's a few steps up to the dining area as you enter. I saw more chairs next to the pool tables in the back area. It looks like a really fun place to come and shoot pool or watch a game - for sure! The waittress (and the only person I saw working there) was very sweet and a great server. I asked for some sort of coffee drink and she gave me the perfect sweet yummy thing to warm me up. M got a scramble that was so very good (I always get a bite) and I got the bacon french toast since I'd never even heard of that before. It was really good - and some may want to stone me for saying it, it actually had a little too much bacon for my liking. I had a very difficult time trying to figure out an accurate rating for The Cooler. I wish there was a 2.5/5 option, because that would more accurately fit this establishment. Located near Autzen stadium, I expected this to be a college bar; it's not, it plays non-stop country music and the dance floor is line dancing. It is a sports bar of sorts, with banners of Pac-12 teams hanging from the ceiling and it does have televisions showing sports, but I was there yesterday and you couldn't tell it could ever be considered a "sports bar". When my friends and I arrived, there wasn't anywhere to sit. Specifically, there was actually a lot of open chairs. People had put their jacket on one seat and then went to the dance floor for a half hour at a time. Then they would return for a 5-10 minute break and go right back. But since they had "called" all of the seats, there wasn't anywhere to sit. The Cooler can only seat about 25 people. Too much room is relegated to the dance floor. I finally sat at one of the tables and 20 minutes later an angry woman approached the table and removed her jacket from the seat next to me and joined another table (and then promptly went back to the dance floor 3 minutes later and was gone for another 20 minutes). This place is incredibly LOUD. The country music is so loud you cannot hear the person next to you. I yelled myself hoarse trying to talk to the people around me. They spoke but I could rarely hear them. It isn't fun to constantly have your face turned away from people so you can get your ear closer to them. The music could easily be heard if it was much lower. Why make people go deaf for no reason? The waitress was very busy and checked on us constantly. She was very nice (cute, too) and we got our drinks we ordered very quickly. She was quick to pick up our empty glasses and get us more. The drinks themselves I was told were pretty good. I had a strawberry vodka and it was better than most I've tried. Certainly no complaints on the drinks end, so if that's the most important thing, The Cooler is a good place to try. Overall, The Cooler isn't a bad place. It just also isn't a very good place. I get it -- you want me to get close to the person I'm talking to so that it create intimacy. It's bar psychology 101. But come on, if I get as close as possible and I STILL can't hear the person right next to me, it's too loud. And I don't mind country music (I've got 3 country songs on my phone that I listen to in fact), but I don't want it blaring the entire time. I thought this place played a variety of music so you could dance if you wanted to. Unless you are looking to line dance only, The Cooler isn't the place for you. Personally, for the low amount of seating, the incredibly loud music, and a very generic atmosphere, I do not see me coming back. The drinks are good, but I rarely drink as it is, so I need more than a good drink to bring me in. I need a reason to stay. Going deaf while being yelled out for sitting at an empty table is not my idea of a place I want to hang out at. read more

I ordered 2 beers at $10 then my boyfriend went back and order 2 beers and one shot of tequila she charged me $34. So $24 for 1 shot of tequila. read more

Hmm not sure how to really describe this one. Open early, redneck vibe, weirdly quiet and shaped like a large barn. When I arrived there most recently, there were about 4 people in attendance, none of which were watching anything save one gentlemen on a low end bowl matchup that no one seemed to have heard of. The slightly moron bartender asked for us to wait a while as she tried to understand how to change channels, then asked for drink orders while she figured it out. I got the sinking feeling immediately that this was a waste of everyone's time and my money, which proved to be tru soon enough. She talked to some guy on the phone for a while and mentioned that we werent watching football, laughed a couple times and hung up. Then said we could wait until her boss came in because she doesnt know how to change the channels. There are like 10 TVs in the bar and there were several off to the side that could have been used, but the now 2 people remaining in the bar must have been interested in everything and they could not be changed. Basically this tells me the staff is incompetent, the boss is a dick, and the place sucks. Beware. read more

This place is really hit or miss. The food is not the worst I've ever had, just standard pub fare. Sometimes it comes out a little on the cold side. They have plenty of TVs, and the crowd atmosphere is great on game days. They even have those little table speakers so you can hear the audio from whatever TV you're watching. That's a nice touch. Service is sub-par. They always seem to be understaffed. There is a guy who seems to double as a bartender who has served us in the past, and he's great. Unfortunately, we don't normally get him. More often it's a surly woman who seems annoyed whenever we "ask for anything" or "order food" or "talk to her". The turnaround on food with her is extremely slow and drinks orders are frequently forgotten. So if you just want to drink, and just on game day, I'd say roll the dice. Any other time, you can do much better in Eugene. read more

My daughter is a freshman at the University this year. I drove from Los Angeles for Family Day here at the school. Thursday night I worked 15hrs (because college is expensive). I got off at 1:00 am and didn't get home until 2:00am. I got up Friday morning @ 6:00am to take my youngest daughter to school. I came back home, did some business and then packed my clothes and left to drive to Oregon. I pulled into a town 3 hrs away and rented a hotel to get some much needed sleep. I slept from about midnight until 4:00am. I got back on the road @5:00 am to get to the school for the Saturday football game. I met up with my daughter and her friend. They went into the game and I walked around checking out the various tailgates and festivities. I stumbled upon this bar/eatery named "Coolers." I ordered a drink and some food. I sat at a booth and ate my burrito and completed 1 vodka and tonic. I fell asleep after a while and was awakened by the bartender who assumed I had to much to drink and said your falling asleep. I explained why I was sleepy just as I described above. She did not listen to what I said because she's a bartender and here's this type of rhetoric all the time. I get it. After some time passed I got up to order another drink and the same bartender takes my order but yells back at me, "I'm not serving you because you were sitting over there falling asleep.!" I was taken aback by her accusation because I had explained to her why I fell asleep. She didn't respond as if my explanation was BS. I just stared at her in disbelief and then she said, "Why are you looking at me?" I said because I want my credit card which I had given her to run a tab. She went through the cards she had placed in a glass and didn't find my card, turned to me and said, Are you sure you had a tab and left your card? I responded I'm positive. She looked elsewhere and found my card. She ran the card to find out my tab and said there nothing on your card!I responded back to her yea but you said I'm drunk and fell asleep. The demeanor and attitude of this bartender was totally foul. I understood her actions at first. I could have been someone that had to much to drink and by law when bartenders recognize that they are bound to be responsible and not serve you any further. Through conversation and the fact that I had to tell the bartender what I had to drink to even be charged infuriated her and she threw my ID and credit card on the bar counter. At that point I unleashed on her with numerous choice words. She demanded I leave and I let her know that was already in progress. I located someone else employed by the bar to report her unprofessional, accusatory, rude and brash comments and behavior. Of course nothing was done. I DO NOT RECOMMEND PATRONIZING THIS ESTABLISHMENT. We are not going to mention the fact that I'm Black in culture and she was an elderly, tattooed, wrinkly old lady passed her prime trying salvage what life she has left. read more
