Stopped in at Wild Duck Cafe and had a really good experience. I went with the jalapeno burger and it was very tasty, packed with flavor. The fries were nice and crispy, just how I like them. The atmosphere has a relaxed vibe and the service was friendly, which made everything smooth. Definitely a solid spot to grab a good meal.

We had a good sized group and were looking for a place that could accommodate us all. This was the only place that we could find so our expectations were pretty low along with the rating here.. very sports bar/ college vibe decor going on and the noise level would mirror that. We noticed the menu had a heavy Hawaiian influence and felt so uncertain how that would work in Oregon? But we gave it a try anyway! We started with misubi and some wings. The wings were sweet Vietnamese sauce (i think) and some mango habanero flavored. The sweet ones weren't bad but they weren't as good as the habanero joints, those started the mood off right. The misubi was surprisingly good too, despite the double riced side. Which was the first time I had seen that but I won't complain one bit. On to the main dishes.. I got the loco moco which hit all the proper notes, especially the patty. Some hot sauce would've put me in a food coma that I wouldn't want to come out of lol. The Hawaiian BBQ steak plate was all hit and no miss as well. The fried chicken wasn't the most memorable for the person in our group but the average for this score is still very high.. I'm not sure if the waitress lady was Hawaiian/poly but I wouldn't be surprised if the place had some real Polynesian cooks or recipes going on. I was very pleased with this experience. Maybe the low expectation raised the score but I will still recommend this place to anybody on the fence about it. It has a low rating but it also barely has any reviews. Hopefully this helps them out and I hope that they take care of you the same way they took care of us. This place has potential that I hope they can keep up. Our waitress was on her A game as well.

So years ago I would come to the Wild Duck brewery (Glen Falconer, Sasquatch RIP). Three because of a horrific tragedy it then later became what we know today as Wild Duck Cafe The ambiance is basically the same feel and the food and service were both really good. Came in before the Ducks football game and the Bluegne burger with chicken tortilla soup. A couple other things were at the table and everything was great. Look forward to coming back again. If you have been here come give them a try.

Solid sports bar. Plenty of tvs to watch a game. Potential questionable cleanliness but doesn't takeaway from the vibe too much. Service was super quick and attentive. Food was alright. The French fries were actually great! Crisp and seasoned welll! The sliders were tasty but the meat seemed a little undercooked but the slaw on it was great!

Excellent food and service. We were in Eugene, from Hillsboro to see a concert at the Matthew Knight Arena, and it appeared that the Wild Duck Café would be the perfect restaurant/bar to enjoy ourselves before the show. And it was. Our server was Summer and she was so friendly and fun. She knew the menu very well, and was able to assist my daughter and I in our selections. I enjoyed the Rock Point Pinot Noir, while my daughter had vodka and soda. We started with a very flavorful Spinach and Artichoke Dip. So good. Then my daughter had the Hawaiian Pork Sliders with fries, and I had the Reuben with fries. Everything was hot and fresh. We will be back in a few weeks for another show, and we will definitely return to the Wild Duck. Be early, as they fill up for the pre-show festivities.

With that meal you will experience actual satisfaction and contentment. That's the first thing I have to say in case you're reading for a recommendation of what to order. Even better if you have it late night after experiencing the best Handel's Messiah concert at the Hult in December. I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. I even ran into two other concertgoers who had also been so energized after the Messiah concert that they didn't want to go home. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town. Love that it was open late enough to enjoy after the concert. Will be back.

I went here on the 4th of July which is hella less annoying than 4th of July in the Mission in SF aka my hood. So my beloved Lotus Garden aka vegan Chinese food that is fab that I would frequent in the day when in lived in Eugene was closed on the 4th despite their website saying they were open and walked there to find out they only are currently doing take out. Damn like Kendrick Lamar So I walk back to Big City Gaming and the friendly bartender tells me that they have an all vegetarian menu even though it isn't pure veg aka they have non veg too. It's all good baby, baby. I am starving after walking heaps in the hard sun like Eddie Vedder. So I get some water and check out the all veg menu. Upon the bartender's suggestion I go with the jackfruit tacos. They were quite alright aka two corn tortillas filled with generous portions of fajita style grilled jackfruit, topped with cabbage, pico de gallo and our signature avocado crema sauce sprinkled with queso fresco. I decided to add vegan crema and non-dairy cheese for a buck. It hit the spot. I did feel like a fish out of water with all the screens showing baseball as basketball is my jam. I am a huge Warriors fan and sad we lost Donte yet he is going to the Knicks. The pretzel bun the burger was on was extremely chewy as if it had been microwaved. I opted for cheddar cheese, which brought the price of my burger meal to over $20 for a slightly below mediocre burger. Typical lettuce, tomato, pickle and small slice of onion as a topping. Rennie's Landing Eugene…read more I went into Rennie's after reading a handful of reviews that sounded like people wandered into a college-campus bar and were shocked shocked! to find college kids, energy, and a crowd. Folks complaining about the vibe or the service while standing smack in the middle of the University of Oregon is like being surprised there are Ducks at Autzen Stadium. Context matters, people. My wife and I stopped in recently and had a genuinely great time. The service was solid our bartender was attentive, friendly, and made some damn good drinks. Food? On point. Nothing felt rushed or sloppy, even though you could tell this place knows how to stay busy. And yeah, it does get busy... because it's popular. That's not a flaw, that's a flex. The location is fun, the energy is lively, and I could absolutely see this place turning into a full-on party once the Ducks are flying high or the weekend rolls around. If service ever slows a touch, it's not because they don't care it's because half of Eugene decided Rennie's was the move that night. That's just college-town math. Bottom line: Rennie's Landing knows exactly what it is and where it is. If you come in expecting a quiet wine bar, you're in the wrong zip code. Pretty slow. Probably less than 10 people total in the establishment. I ordered a drink from a gentleman and went on my way upstairs. Came back down for round two and a female server was asking for the tab name for the order. I told her my last name and she replied with an excited, "Doug!" - I have been told that I have a memorable name in the past, but regardless it was really nice feeling a sense of recognition from staff. Food: When I come back to Eugene and have new people with me, Rennie's is a must. You walk in and you definitely don't get the vibe that the food will be good. Well... your inclination is INCORRECT. The food is damn good! I try not to set high expectations for the people I bring, but I just tell them... for a bar, the food is awesome.
