We went to lunch at Memo's a while ago it was 249 PM we were the only people in the dining area it took 15 minutes to get a menu , then it took 35 minutes to get to order taken , then it took over an hour to get the food , as we went to pay the bill it was NOT the lunch price , we have talked to family members and co-workers about this and they said the same thing happened when they went in for lunch had to wait an ended up paying the dinner prices , needless to say none of us will ever go back again not a good way to keep customers happy read more

Awful service. Server only had us 2 as customers when we arrived. We asked for spicy salsa and he was very energetic in his response that he could provide it. Half an hour later when he came to our table I asked again and he said "oh yeah! I just have to go make it." It never came. 45 minutes later I had to get up out of our booth and into the bar area to ask for our check. Can't imagine why we received such terrible service. read more

So... we went there two weeks ago, sat at the bar (only 4-5 barstools) and had a great time. Our drinks, margaritas on the rocks, were fabulous. The bar tender was very personable and attentive. The food was good for the price. I had a taco, tostada, burrito, rice and beans dinner combo for $16. I had enough left over to lunch the next day. We returned last week to see if it would be as good the second time - and it was. Food is prepared well, authentic tasting and good portions for the money. Fajitas, burrito's, enchilada's with mole were all good. We just moved over to Springfield and this may become our local watering hole. read more

While this place could probably stand in as the definition of "hole in the wall"... the food is actually pretty decent. Starting with the chips and salsa, they offer a fresh pico that was well made and a true taqueria style salsa that is a little oregano forward but good. The heat sneaks up on you. Our food came out fairly quickly and was piping hot. I got the #1 combo - enchilada and taco. I was impressed by the cheesiness. He got the Pollo a la crema that was also super cheesy and had great flavor. We aren't used to having peas, carrots, and corn in the rice, so that was a little odd. We went for lunch, so the portions were good for lunch, but if it's the same portion for dinner, it might be a bit small. The restaurant itself is in a bit of disrepair, but mostly clean. The plates and cups and utensils are a bit past their useful dates (cracks and chips and such). Being right on Main St. Parking will be dependent on the time of day and day of the week. The waiter was polite and attentive. And he cleared plates efficiently. read more

Stopped-in for a late dinner and ordered a Chicken Chimichanga off the à la carte menu. Table service was prompt and friendly and my food came out after a short wait of munching on Tortilla Chips and two kinds of salsa. Everything tasted fresh and the Chimi was served with generous servings of guacamole & sour cream. Hard to beat a crispy Chimi when the craving hits :-) I noticed that at virtually every table, someone was enjoying a margarita...popular drink there so they must be good. Next time! Skeie's Jewelers put a post about having people comment on their favorite restaurants in the Eugene Springfield area, and I noticed that Memos is a definite favorite, I decided to try it because I just moved to the area and I really like Mexican food. I was not disappointed. The mole chicken was perfect. There was a typical diced tomato salsa, and also a really good smoky tomato-based sauce. The guacamole was good. I could've licked my plate! Do not order from their website where they have a burrito priced at $10. You go in and order the burrito and it's $16. Also, I didn't order a wet burrito, but that's what I got. You can't pick up and eat a wet burrito like I wanted to do. I wasn't impressed, but I might try it one more time. What kind of burrito doesn't come with cheese? They had real corn chips but they weren't even salted. read more

Wonderful food and great service. The flavors were great! On our visit, our waiter accidentally forgot to put our food order in. We mentioned how long it was taking to receive our food and our waiter was horrified to realize he had not put our food order in to the kitchen. He was very apologetic and gave us our entire meal for free. Besides the food being great, we were appreciative of their willingness to make things right with us. We were tired after a long drive and just wanted some really good Mexican food...well Memo's hit the spot! Not only were my tacos delish, my bf's super burrito was truly super big! Complementary warm chips and flavorful salsa...we just had to split a giant marg. To top off the friendly service they gave us both a complementary'Mexican whiskey' shot. Thx so much!!! read more

Margaritas are huge not fabulous as more attention seems to be paid to the size versus quality! Food arrived shortly...the Carne Asada plate was deliciously cooked and seasoned. The chicken tostada salad was not enjoyed as much by my dining partner. Chicken had a strange presentation and was off colored. In addition there were RAW uncooked mushrooms throughout the salad...like big mushrooms. Odd! I'll be back for sure... The salsa with the house chips actually has some spice unlike these pico and more ketchup type offerings at other places! read more

We've passed this place a thousand times, and finally, tonight, we decided to get take out. I got 2 shredded beef enchiladas. The shredded beef was about the best I've had anywhere... it was tender and moist, no fat or anything gross. The rice was as I like it, flavorful but on the dryer side. My husband had 2 ground beef chimichangas, and enjoyed them a lot. Only comment...too much food. Very generous portions. Nice staff, the place seemed clean and smelled yummy. They had the cutest little bar... big enough for maybe 4 barstools. It looked about the right size for someone's home bar. We'll go back, for sure read more

The best COVID times restaurant patio I've seen so far in Lane County. If more restaurants would step up to the plate like this, they'd see an increase in revenue. The food was good, the atmosphere was great and the drinks! Margs with size options of S,M,L, you've got options. The large top shelf margarita was of course our drink of choice. They were very generous with their heaters unlike some, I'm looking at you Tacovore . They had them all on, turned all they way up the whole time. When people started leaving they even brought us a second heater. We were really happy enjoying warm outdoor dining for the first time! If you're looking for a warm and fun outdoor dining experience where the booze is flowing, I found it in Springfield. You heard it here first. read more

I have had many lunches at Memos and until our last visit, I would have given them 4 stars. However our visit on Sunday, with only 3 to 4 patrons in the restaurant, and 2 waiters was poor. We waited...and waited...finished the chips...waited more....we should have just left. The 2 dinners were simple Mexican combinations, plus a side order of rice. Typically, at lunch the orders are out within 5-10 minutes. Today it was over 20 minutes. There was no apology for a long wait. There were no water refills. One guy from another table got up and walked up to the bar asking for water from a waiter. Don't blame this poor service on Covid. These 2 waiters were not that busy. The restaurant was relatively empty. You don't buss tables before taking care of your customers. Part of my shredded beef enchilada was still cold on the inside. Will I try Memos again? Yes, but only because they serve some excellent Pico De Gallo, and unlike other Mexican restaurants, they don't charge extra for it. They always automatically bring both salsa and Pico De Gallo. read more

Always looking for amazing Mexican food. Memo's was great. The mole sauce was perfect. I originally asked for a sample when we first sat down to help me decide what I wanted to order. Our drinks came and he asked to take our order. I reminded him I wanted to taste the mole sauce and he had forgotten about it. I ordered the mole chicken enchiladas and they were so good!! We had a party of 5 and 4 of our dinners came out, and the waiter asked the fifth person what they ordered. Apparently his order had not been placed, and our dinners were almost done by the time he got his food served. The waiter apologized and acknowledged that it was his error. We never saw him again. Had to ask someone else for more drinks, to go boxes and ultimately the bill. Will go back because of the food and hope that the service is better! The employees all seemed very nice. read more

I love this place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is some of the best in town. The chicken taquitos are amazing and a must order. One thing, they have a chile relleno filled with meat on the menu, but don't be fooled. Its a regular chile relleno filled with cheese. I have yet to have a bad meal there and am working my way through thier whole menu. If you need a libation with your meal thier margaritas are great, or try the sangria for something light and fruity. read more

I've always enjoyed their wait staff, food, drinks, ect. However their wonderful dining experience doesn't extend to their catering. They didn't have my order ready when I came to pick up ( which was totally understandable after being told they were short staffed) I was in no way angry that they needed extra time - being that I also work for a small family owned business, I feel the strain of unexpected circumstances just as much as the next. Where I became disappointed was with the portions. The price was; as I mentioned to a friend prior to ordering - too good to be true. They don't mention quantity and that's my biggest sadness with this experience. Safe to say I still tipped 20% and will continue to appreciate their dining and take out quality/experience but won't be using their catering or recommending them for that purpose anytime in the future. I would like to end it on a high note by recognizing once again - their food is wonderful, their attitudes are great. This place has very GOOD food , the atmosphere was nice , the service was very good the prices are GOOD for the amount of food I have taken fiends . Family here for dinner and will do again an again , One of our Family members is going through Cancer ( Chemo ) Treatment and can not have any spicy ( Hot ) foods yet the waiter went over and above beyond to make him salsa for him we give him so many thanks what a great guy / what a great place to eat just parking is not very easy but way worth it !! read more

Used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant, but in the past couple years the quality of food has gone downhill. My husband and I got sick to our stomachs after eating there the last time. Also feel like if you don't order alcohol, they bring you your food then leave you for dead. read more

Service was great when we went after the lunch rush. Nachos to-go were amazingly packaged and stayed warm. The fajitas were less than stellar, flavored more from what seemed to be painted on spices than actual marinating. The salsa was too much like marinara to enjoy. Overall, we'd choose another restaurant in the future, but considering how lacking the decent Mexican food options are, I'm still giving it 4 stars. read more

Friendly service, just not very attentive: having to ask for a refill of my drink, having to ask for the bill after they cleared our plates more than 20 minutes earlier. And the food was mediocre at best. I had chicken mole enchiladas and the mole was very bland. There were mushrooms in the filling as well which I thought was particularly odd. The corn tortillas were too thick so that was what I tasted most of the whole enchilada. My friends had some small margaritas and there were indeed very small for the $7.50 a piece. The place itself is okay-ish. The floors are very slick and unevenly. tiled and we all had a "slippery" moment getting to our table. All in all, not very impressed and I think there are much better Mexican restaurants in the area. read more

This place opened in 2002 and we have been customers ever since when we drive to Springfield from Portland! Healthy portions and great food.

The food here was okay. The huge letdown was the service provided. A wait over 5 minutes just to get our drinks presented. Our food arrived nearly an hour later after being ordered. Between that time they got some of the orders wrong, left the menus at the table after ordering, left empty chip trays at the table even when the food arrived. WARNING! Don't rely upon the prices listed in their website. We ordered a couple of meals that were listed at $12.50 on their menu. However , when I arrived the price was $17.50 Per plate. That was comparatively expensive for the same food at other restaurants. I asked the clerk about the price and even showed him the price on the website. The only response I got was the website was wrong and there was nothing they could (or would) do. The meal wasn't super sloppy, drowning in greasy sauce like most Mexican restaurants, but actually really great quality. Even the chips and salsa were bombdiggity. Relocating from California to Oregon was wonderful until I realized How much I missed REAL Mexican food!! I can make Mexican food better than most of the restaurants here in Oregon until I tried this Lil hole in the wall memos!!
