I came in here earlier with my husband. We had planned on going to Twisted Duck, but they were closed. As always, it was delicious and the service was on point. I ordered the tamale plate, as I'd been craving good tamales. My husband ordered the fajitas. Everything was delicious. I didn't order it today, but they have legit flan. I learned to make it myself in a Mexican restaurant, and theirs is exactly the same. Which I love, because I can get a single portion when I don't want to make it myself. Restaurant is tiny and really nothing special. But it works. It's still comfortable to sit and eat. Staff is friendly and kind, answered my questions. Prices are still reasonable, even with inflation. This is such an amazing small, local business to support. It's been in the same family for two generations now. Amazing staff amazing food. And I cannot stress this enough: cheap! Their food is LITERALLY the only place in town you can get affordable food for an amazing taste. This review is solely based on previous experiences and the *flan*! I haven't eaten their main Mexican foods since COVID. The service is always decent, quick, and attentive. They just want you to order what you want accurately and ensure your food is hot when you leave! The flan ($3/pc) is a wonderful dessert and is one of the places I know near me that does it homemade with extra syrup. The texture is just right, and it is creamy yet not so dense. It was the right amount of sweetness, and the top wasn't crusty or burnt tasting. Honestly one of the best places to get homemade flan! Stopped in at El Taco Express for a quick taco fix and they did not disappoint. I ordered a Carnitas taco and a Al Pastor taco (minus the onions). They were prepared on double tortillas with a generous portion of protein on each. They were both tender and nicely seasoned. As a plus, the tortillas tasted homemade. Just a note that the "medium" sized soda cup would be considered a "child" size anywhere else, so if you're looking to consume a lot of liquids, go for the larger size. read more

They were super meaty, tough and dry. The redeeming quality was their hot sauce. The rice with the burrito was a weird texture. But the burrito was filling. The beans were okay. This is my favorite spot for a chimichanga in Eugene-Springfield. I always order mine with chicken *and* pork with a side of beans and rice (highly recommend). And I usually put on a few of the different salsas they have available. So good. They season their meat and food very well. They have a fast food set up and dining area, but it gets the job done. Their service is fast and friendly. The flavor and quality of their food is better than some local restaurants that charge much more. I'm always happy with my chimichanga. I haven't tried a lot of other things on the menu because I'm so addicted to it. But the place is always busy so the other food must be good too. I usually order mine for takeout. It's the best chimichanga in town in my opinion. And one of my favorite Mexican food spots. Their beverages there are all soda/fast food tea or Horchata. I usually opt to get a drink at the little convenience store right next-door or at the Mexican smoothie place about a block away to go with my chimichanga since I'm not a big soda person. read more

On multiple occasions I have seen acts of generosity involving people who can't afford food for themselves. I try to always leave a tip for whatever I think the cost of their food was. PLEASE support this place. They have good hearts, and make wonderful food. I was addicted to the tacos far before I knew how generous they were. I've been coming to this place since 2018 & service is always decent however the food quality has went down a bit since. I typically get a steak breakfast burrito, over time the meat became tough to eat, too many fatty pieces and not enough flavor.. Our favorite Mexican food in the EUG/SPFLD area. The food is all good here. They even have yummy crinkle cut fries. They're always busy with to go orders so the phones are hard to call sometimes but it always worth. I've never had a bad food experience here and I've been eating here with family over a decade. It's a taco stand so it's only 3 stars but 3 stars for a taco stand is great. They are incredibly quick if you call ahead and INEXPENSIVE TOO! Waiting in line sometimes can take awhile as they answer the phone for to go orders in between every person in line...but it's good and consistent. Absolutely hands down the best burritos for your money. Today I tried the chili verde burrito: a giant flour tortilla filled with tender chunks of pork, chili verde (yes, that is the green variety), beans and cheese. I don't like rice inside my burrito so I asked to leave that out. Filling and delicious! And all that for $5.50 Wow! I have had different burritos here before but this one has been my favorite so far. I personally am not impressed by their tacos but man oh man those burritos!!! And my guess is they have about 10 different varieties in burritos. Service is fast and efficient. Food is hot. Lines can be long but they move FAST. read more

Picture this: It's 2015. You've lived in San Diego all your life and suddenly, work relocates you to Oregon where you live in an old school motel for x weeks with nothing to do other than maybe Costco rotiserrie chicken wraps that you stack in your fridge. It's only, it's rainy (Oregon), and you miss home. Then you find this place and you realize you just stepped into a place that serves burritos just as good as home if not better. I had the Oregon burrito. The first burrito bite was welcoming, heartwarming and better than any other cheapo burrito I had between OR and WA in the last year. It's warmth, flavor, and texture. Wow... Can't really explain other than it was good. And then there's the salsa and everything else for such a great price! One day if I ever am forced to be in Eugene/Springfield, I will come back here to pay tribute. How did I write this review when I haven't been here since 2015? I was lying in my sunny San Diegan bed with a temporary Marine overcast view.
