Tacos Pirekua is a tiny, unassuming restaurant with big flavor! There are only two tables inside the little dining area so you may need to take your food to go. I was looking for a great breakfast burrito and Yelp brought me here...good job Yelp! The burrito was hot off the grill and filled with eggs, potatoes and bacon. Bottles of both green and red salsa were brought to the table and they were both very good. I preferred the green for the breakfast burrito. Drinks are in the fridge (no soda fountain). Regular sized cans of soda are $1 as of this review. At just $5.99, this was one hefty & tasty breakfast burrito. So if you're in the Springfield area, do yourself a favor... bookmark Tacos Pirekua and get yourself here the next time you've got the breakfast burrito craving!

Not pictured are the burritos and jamaicas we got. We drive from an hour away and have a multitude of options, but this place is the best! The lady that always greets us at the front is very sweet and I've even seen the other ladies in the back a few times and they've also been nice! The real winner here though is the food. They have a bunch of meat options and its always so good. It even holds up on our hour drive to home (we always ge togo). Cannot say enough good things about this place! read more

Tiny joint right on Main, I was happy to see it was brick and mortar. 2-3 two person tables inside but a few picnic benches outside. Service was nice but not over the top or under it. We order a variety of tacos and taquitos with chips and salsa. It was all reasonably priced. We didn't have to wait long for any of it either. Everything looked really good, my husband really enjoyed his hard tacos and taquitos. I felt that my taco variety could have been a bit more flavorful. None of them stood out. I will say they were packed full, so much that I almost couldn't pick them up, lots of filling fell out. So our experience was pleasant but it wasn't the tastiest of places we've been to. read more

Recently tried this place and would definitely recommend! Food tasted great, staff was friendly, and was fairly priced. Small place with indoor and outdoor seating if you choose to eat in but I ordered to go. Wife got 3 tacos (Carne Asada and Carnitas) and I got an Asada chimichanga. We also got some chips and guacamole and a side of salsa. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. I like my guac with a little more lime and salt but it was still good. The salsa was excellent! According to the menu, the chimi was supposed to be topped with sour cream but they forgot to top it. This didn't matter to me as their green and red hot sauce were really good on the chimi and my wife loved the tacos. Overall, I say support this place as it's clearly authentic. read more

This place has amazing tacos. I was so excited to find they fry their own hard shells (none of that pre-made stuff!) and the quality of ingredients was great. Friendly customer service and vibe. It's a tiny little place so you might have to wait for a seat if you're eating there. But totally worth it. We'll be back. read more

We had already adjusted our order once because we were told several items were unavailable. We ordered specifically based on what we were told was still in stock -- yet what was delivered to our table was completely different. Dessert was no better. We attempted to order one option and were told it was unavailable. We then ordered the tiramisu for two and were instead served cannolis -- without explanation. Nearly everything listed on the special Valentine's menu was sold out. We had a reservation, so the restaurant knew exactly how many guests to expect. Running out of most featured items on a fixed-price holiday menu shows a lack of preparation. The most frustrating part was the pricing. We were charged $75 per person (plus drinks) for food that was cold, incorrect, and incomplete. Charging premium holiday pricing requires premium execution. That standard was not met. we did receive one free drink for our excessive wait time. She also advised that she would add an additional discount for the fact that they didn't have multiple menu items. However, when we were given our bill, it was for $100 per person. Given our drink was $15 there was no discount and they actually tried to charge us more than what was stated on the menu. Valentine's Day is meant to feel thoughtful and memorable. Unfortunately, this felt disorganized and overpriced for what was delivered. We left disappointed and would not have chosen to dine here had we known this would be the experience. Definitely will not go back.

Never disappoints! The cabeza tacos are a must. Tender and melts in your mouth. The wet burrito is made with an authentic red salsa on top not the water down you get in Americanized Mex restaurants. The tamales are nothing to write home about but ok. Lastly the salsa you are given are actually delicious and have some kick. The staff are nice and efficient. Muchas gracias!! read more
