We went mid-week at 6:30pm and it was not busy but there was a steady line of customers dining in and picking up to go. I ordered on the self-serve screen so I'd be able to look at the menu without holding up the line. You're able to add extra condiments, request plain (shudder) tacos, no onions, etc. I was impressed how extensive the automated options were for customization. Plenty of seating outside and the turnaround is quick for patrons to eat & leave. What we got: - $3.95 Adobada taco: great flavor of sweet and spicy but I think the meat was too lean and was a tad tougher on the chew than I'd like. Would 100% try it again though, don't get me wrong! Comes with avo crema. - $3.95 Carne Asada taco: Nice char and seasoned well. Tacos were juicy and flavorful. Comes with guacamole and not the crema; I don't know if you can switch one vs the other. - $9.95 taco combo: 2 tacos of your choice with a side of beans and rice which were both flavored and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend the sides! - $8.95 Asada quesadilla: Looks like a giant taco with cheese. My 8 y/o couldn't pick it up initially without spoonfuls of asada falling out. (Not a complaint at all because it's my spoon grabbing a taste test! Lol) One filled him up but I'd say it also had more meat than 2 combined tacos. - $3 Bunuelos: I saw these on Yelp first and was intrigued if they would be similar to Tio Flaco's churro chips in HB for half the price. The chips are drizzled in condensed milk and caramel (is it caramelized evap milk?). A nice amount of sweetness & I only regret ordering these at the same time as our meal. TJ tacos in Escondido set the bar for adobada tacos but Taco Masa definitely hits the spot for a local joint. Definitely will be back soon! Anyone have any "must try" taco spots? Hit me up! Don't sleep on Tacomasa! I love their carne asada tacos and carne asada fries. The meat is very smoky and you can taste the char on the meat from the grill. Everything was delicious including all of their salsas. This is a must when visiting Long Beach. read more

I was very excited for this taco shop because they grill with charcoal. The shop is very cute and super clean. I ordered the taco combos. One with pork and two with steak. They come with side of rice and bean and salsas. Tacos are topped with guac and they are loaded with meat. They had to double layer the tortilla because it's heavy. Food was great I enjoyed pork more than steak but steak was good also. It would be better if it was more hot. I think the meat was sitting for little bit but overall it was great. I would try their Tortas next time. I also ordered horchata burger couldn't really drink it because it was way too sweet! I have a sweet teeth but this one was SUGAR! These tacos are the closest I've tried to a Tijuana style taco. The service was fast and easy, they have bar top seating inside and patio seating outside as well. The asada taco is on point! The adobada is also good the flavor is not as intense as I prefer but it does not disappoint, they even have a "salsa dip" (creamy green sauce) as they call it in Tijuana. I like they also serve alcohol. I did not try the green hot sauce, I did try the red sauce which was not bad but it was a bit stiff and hard to spread evenly over the taco, taste was okay. I hope their red salsa was better but I will still come to this place, it definitely has the vibe of a Tijuana tacos stand, not to mention the adobada is on a vertical spit. read more

Stopped here on the way out of town to grab a bite. I was super excited to see that they had tamales on the weekends. We ordered a pork tamale, a taco combo, and the quesadilla. Everything was really delicious. I was super happy with the tamale, the masa was moist and the red sauce was really tasty. I am allergic to raw onions so I was so happy to find out that the guacamole didn't have any. The tacos were carne asada and the quesadilla was adobada, both were incredibly flavorful. Overall I feel it is a four star joint, but the customer service is what pushes Tacomasa to five for me. I can tell the meat and tortillas are precooked and kept warm probably for faster service because by the time we walked outside to their outdoor sitting the tacos were cold. No biggie, I get it. The food had good flavor, delicious salsas and the tortillas are your good fresh, soft, chewy ones. The gentlemen working were friendly, nice and provided us with excellent customer service. Stopped in on a whim, first time, and I hope they open a Tacomasa location in West LA! The location was clean, convenient, and the staff was super helpful. We got a horchata, chicken burrito and a pork quesadilla. The complimentary small bottles of water were a very welcome touch. The burrito was great, the tortilla fresh, the chicken tender and moist, the beans cooked just enough, it was exactly what you'd hope for (but lots of other places just get complacent about). The quesadilla was also just right! The pork just a lil crisp, the cheese was quality and not oily, in just the right amount; the tortilla was also just crisp enough, but not oily on the outside. The red salsa was really tasty, a lil savory. Just spicy enough for most people. The green had a little more heat, and was gooey just enough. The horchata was unexpectedly good! I don't know what they do different, but I don't remember the last time I've liked it this much! We ate outside on the patio, which was clean and spacious, with umbrellas. The tortillas held up great and didn't fall apart even tho they only use one. I was expecting two tortillas but you know what I'm glad they only give you one, you don't need two. My mulita was so good, the beef tongue was tender and juicy. I have a feeling you cant miss here. Service was quick and accurate. We had several employees check in on us multiple times. That's always appreciated. It is kinda loud here so please be aware of that as it is full and people are talking over each other.
