I've come to Tacomasa multiple times and have tried many menu items! Everything is amazing every single time. Their portions don't disappoint either. You can absolutely taste the quality of their meats and ingredients! Also, their drinks and sauces are phenomenal! The carne asada is my favorite because you can taste a nice smoky/char flavor that I love, but you can't go wrong with any of their meats! Service is always friendly and I've seen some staff go out of their way for guests. I'll always be a loyal customer.
I tried the asada burrito after sampling the nopal. The employee offered half nopal and half asada, but I decided not to. I thought the hospitality was nice, and while the nopal was tasty, the asada left more to be desired. It was fine until I stared at it because the meat was cubed like dog/cat food. I prefer black beans, too, and the rice tasted slightly undercooked. I wish I tried the piña because I thought they only had pepino with piña. I was not able to finish it though. It was folded really neatly? But the salsa was more on the chunky than liquidy side, so it had to be scraped. The design doesn't feel Mexican to me, and I do not regret missing the Yelp Elite event here.
Tacomasa is located right in the streets of downtown Brea, with a super cute blue interior. The restaurant was clean and had a nice atmosphere. Both of the Aguas Frescas we ordered were delicious! We also got the two-taco combo plates that came with rice and beans. Unfortunately, the tripa and pork tacos were both pretty salty. The chicken was interesting--it was cut into really small little cubes, which gave it a different texture than I expected. The beans were also too salty for our taste. Overall, the drinks were a highlight, but the food was a little too salty for us. Service was excellent.
Mmmmmmm breakfast burrito. Came back here without letting the manager know since the last time there were eggshells in my burrito.. they had offered to comp my next meal but like a jerk I just paid for my eggs, bean and cheese burrito without saying anything. And I do not regret that one bit. Not one second or one cent. I got the exact same thing as last time and finished the whole burrito (in two sittings) with pride and a smile. The Brea trail was adjacent and I'd just gone for a walk with Nanners the dog, came here starving and got my fill of breakfast deliciousness. Even taking the leftover home and eating it for a late lunch was still really delicious. The tortilla stayed firm but flexible and the eggs and beans and cheese were still magic in a bite. Also thank you for letting me and my dog chill outside! Definitely looking forward to coming back.
Solid tacos. Got the adobada, lengua, and carne tacos con todo (with everything) and this definitely hit the spot. The carne was definitely my favorite. Meat was tender and cut just the perfect bite size. Honestly if this was the only thing I got, I would've given this place a 5/5. The adobada and lengua while good, was a little less tender than would I would like. One honorable mention is I also liked how cubed and perfectly small the onions were cut. My gripe with some places is that the onions are on the larger side and take away from the meat flavor, making the taco more oniony flavored. But not here! If you can handle spicy, I also recommend the chili oil on the table, it has a nice smoky kick and definitely elevated the tacos. Was a must for me! Highly recommend for anyone in the area and looking to try. Would def come back as around, more a high 4 for me!
Heard a lot of good things about this place, so I finally came to give it a try. I ordered their Deluxe Trio and got the asada, adobada, and tripa. All three were very flavorful, but I did find them to be on the saltier side. Their mild salsa was delicious, though, and went really well with all of the tacos. I think some of the extra saltiness might have been from the cheese that comes with the deluxe. To confirm my theory, I ordered a regular lengua taco afterward, and it was indeed less salty. The lengua was flavorful on its own, and I actually think I might prefer their non deluxe tacos. The star of the show for me was definitely the asada burrito con todo. Everything about it was tasty. The asada was tender, and the rice and beans were seasoned really well. Everything worked together, and there wasn't one ingredient that overpowered the rest. I would definitely order the burrito again. Overall, the food had a lot of flavor. I would probably skip the Deluxe next time because of the saltiness and stick with their regular tacos, but that asada burrito is something I would come back for.
I've been wanting to try it here for a while and finally had the chance to go on my lunch break. The meats are extremely flavorful. I also really liked the salsa macha. Service was good, very fast. It is a bit pricey, but I do like the food quality. It's on Birch so parking in the structure is best. I wish there was a seafood option as well. Tortillas were delicious! The sides for the taco plate are very tiny so just know it's not a big full plate. Overall a great spot for some tacos.
Tacomasa, located on bustling Birch St in downtown Brea is a perfect stop for a delicious taco! One of the tastiest tacos I've had with friendly service. It's a busy area, so at peak hours seating can be a bit difficult but there is indoor and outdoor seating available.
Nothing too exciting -- which I guess is to be expected at a mall-adjacent eatery --- but still a very solid two-taco combo here, and I was pretty pleased with the hearty portion sizes of my pollo and nopales options. Corn tortillas made in-house are a plus, though the contents inside could use a bit more heat. Def a good lunch spot if you're not looking for anything fancy or experimental though, and very nice aguas frescas selections, but almost too squeaky clean inside, with sterile vibes. Service all around was dang good though, especially for a chain restaurant.
Honestly this was a somewhat disappointing experience for my hubby & I. I can see this being an attractive location for those that don't care for well seasoned food, it's in Brea so that checks out. As for this Chicana that loves her food well seasoned I found this place lacking. I got 1 asada taco & 1 mulita with adobada (pork meat) & hubby got 1 asada taco & 1 tripa taco. We both were disappointed with the lack of flavor in the meats. We also got an elote and it was more cobb than corn because the corn we ordered had very thin kernels. For the price of $5 a taco, $6 for mulita, & $7 for the corn it was disappointing overall. I gave a two star instead of 1 though because the one thing I truly enjoyed was their guayaba limon agua & the service was good & the location was clean. To mi gente out there that like well marinated, seasoned meat skip on this place, but for you that like light to no seasoned meat this is your gem.
Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and had a really nice experience. There was plenty of seating available, both indoors and outdoors, so it was easy to find a spot to sit and enjoy our food. Ordering and payment are done at the counter, which made the process quick. The menu is simple but offers a good variety of options without feeling overwhelming. I ordered the elote, and it was exactly what I was hoping for, prepared just like the elote man makes it! I also recommend trying one of their aguas frescas. The staff was welcoming, and our order came out promptly. The dining area was clean and well maintained Parking was also convenient with a parking structure nearby. Overall, this is a great casual spot to grab a quick bite with good food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely come back to try more from the menu.
Taco Massa is usually my go to spot, so this visit was disappointing. My chicken quesadilla was nothing like it normally is. The cheese was pretty much burnt instead of being melted and gooey, so it didn't have that cheesy quesadilla consistency at all. It was dry and just wasn't enjoyable. I'm hoping this was just an off day.
Great environment right when I walked in , great I ordered the super fries and 4 tacos with cheese, and great hospitality from Ivan and the others!

Really enjoyed Tacomasa. Loved the smokey flavor on the meats... I loved their vampiros... favorite meat was the chicken. Very tasty! And their chocolate abuelita ice cream was really good. It had a grainy texture to it though, which I didn't mind because it tasted so good. Highly recommend this place! read more

Attentive service and great food. Ordered Lengua burrito and tacos asada with some horchata. Delicious all around read more
The restaurant is a bit on the pricer side however the portions are worth it. The quality of the asada was great. The meat melted in your mouth and soft. I personally wouldn't get the taco plate that comes w rice and beans bc they put it in the sauce container that shouldn't be more considered as a sampling. I had the perception of it being on the plate w your tacos for $12.95. The places is small but there are outdoor seating. The service was very nice and courteous. Thr agua frescas was amazing yoo! There a parking structure in the back. read more

We had the asada nachos and 2 asada tacos. The nachos are bagged chips, cheese was cold, the asada was good. Very plain. The tacos were good. We got the avocado on the side because like many places, they just don't get the avocado right. Tacomasa didn't get it right. The red salsa taste really bland, not what I expected for asada tacos. Needed rich, hot red chilli for them. Place is clean, has the right vibes being on the Brea strip just misses the mark with the food. More like bar food and with a price of $31 for what we had it left a lot to be desired. Service was good, nothing spectacular just good ol' hello and thank you. If it's late at night no where to go, just stick with the asada tacos and a drink.... read more

Thank you Ashley!
Came here the other night with a friend to enjoy a taco or burritos. Because of the upbeat area the tacos were quite expensive so we opted for quesadillas with meat in them. I got the adobada which is the pork marinated similar to al pastor but cooked differently. My friend picked up the asada meat version. We walked away somewhat filled but personally I could've gotten a few more tacos to go for the road. Plenty of seats inside and outside. Very well lit and the seats were metal and uncomfortable. Service was quick and they even offered to refill my aqua Fresca. They have plenty of parking on the roadway or two public parking areas close by. Come on by to checkout this taco place. read more

Delicious TJ style tacos and aguas frescas in north OC area. Staff were all welcoming and answered our questions about different sizing available. The restaurant has plenty of open area seating that faces the street/downtown area. This is our third time coming here; being close to home, it makes an easy stop for weeknight dinner. read more

It's a little pricey, but if you want excellent tacos and one of the best asada fries I've ever had, indulge yourself. Service is fantastic, with the manage walking around to make sure everyone was satisfied with their meal. Will be back! read more
Located in downtown Brea with plenty of parking and indoor and outdoor dining. Looks new still and had the carne asada, pork and pollo queso taco for $17.95. Great service and the tacos were relatively large and filling. Carne asada was my favorite and seasoned well. read more
Food is good! Price is very high. Service is awesome. The interior kind of brings you back to a taqueria in Mexico with the tiles and blue tin roof in downtown Brea. I don't know.. we are paying the same as New York Wall Street, Chelsea market, time square taco prices in Brea, CA. Yes the Tijuana style with creamy guacamole on top of the taco is great and all but price is a bit too high for meats that doesn't scream quality. read more
Got the two taco combo with beans and rice and a drink for $12.95. Pretty reasonable price. Love that guac is included and not extra. Horchata was pretty solid . Tacos were good if in the area and craving a taco I would swing by. Staff was friendly and helpful. Ordering was easy and gave you number and brought the food to you . Clean with some tables definitely great for a quick lunch. read more

Tried taco masa, and was a lot disappointed. The menu has a nice selection of authentic Mexican tacos and such, and they also have a variety of aguas frescas like guava lemon, horchata, Jamaica etc. although the food is Mexican, it didn't feel like Mexican food at all. The meat lacked flavor, and most importantly salt, the tortillas were made from scratch, which is always a plus. But did nothing because the meat fell short. The mulita and vampiro were also lacking. But most importantly the sauces were bland, tasteless, and had zero spice. Although the food was not bad nor great, I can't really recommend this restaurant because I myself wouldn't come back. Ps the service was good, and the ambiance was nice. Also employees were attentive and constantly cleaning. There is street parking, or you can park in the structure directly across. read more
People are going crazy over this new Tijuana-style taqueria that they're calling "in-n-out" but for tacos in Downtown Brea. But let me put you on to something that might be even better than their fresh handmade tortillas... this is not your plain ol' ice cream, this is creamy soft serve made with Abuelita Mexican chocolate so you know it's super rich and comes in vanilla too. And there's even a secret menu item: chocolate and vanilla swirl. Iykyk this is the elite soft serve flavor, and if you heard it from me, no you didn't! Thanks for reading! ^-^ read more

Excellent service in a very nice location in downtown Brea the restaurant is very bright with friendly staff. Ordered burrito and nopal tacos! Very rare and really good. read more
I was here for an event so I got to try everything. This place will please Mexican food lovers and everyone else. The best meat is the pork (in my opinion) and don't skip the drinks in the bubblers. They are all made fresh and you can drink as much as you like. The red and green salsas are not very spicy but if you want spice they have one on request. Service is 5/5. read more

Place was wack. We tried the burritos and honestly, they were not worth the price at all. The tortillas they use are clearly the burrito style ones, but the filling was really lacking. You get a ton of just nothing but tortilla bites, barely any meat, and what was there was fatty and tough. It felt like they used more tortilla than anything else. For the price, I expected way better quality and portion size. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place, especially if you're craving a good, hearty full of flavor burrito. There are plenty of other spots around that offer way better value and taste. read more

I had an amazing experience at Tacomasa! The most I waited was maybe 10-15 but tbh it was worth the wait. I ordered a torta de asada and 3 tacos de adobada, and everything was packed with flavor. The asada in the torta was juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the adobada tacos were so good--tender, well-marinated, and full of taste in every bite. You can tell they really care about quality here. Definitely one of my go-to spots now when I'm in the area. Highly recommend! read more

Wow thank you so much!
The line wasn't that bad. Seating was all right, you have a tables outside and inside. You can see them make the tortillas- sorry forgot to take a picture. The food was good, my vampiro was very delish- basically I made two tacos. I saw the tacos and mmm idk looks kinda small, the aquas frescas not bad at all but on the sweet side. We tried almost all of them. The elote - I give a mmm it's alright, at least I tried their way. I know, I know everyone does it differently, but I'll stick to my elote lady. Oh they do have beans and rice -in small cups. We didn't try them. The staff was very helpful and friendly when I had questions about the price. I would recommend to come and try it for yourself. Doesn't hurt to try new things. read more
I have never seen an American place so truly authentic to Mexico as I have here. They have a bar of Agua Fresca's that they make fresh in house every day. They are amazing! They have cucumber/pineapple, Horchata, hibiscus, watermelon, banana, and guava/lemon. That could be my meal alone! They also have an amazing ice cream called chocolate abuelita. It is a homemade soft serve that is worth driving miles for! Their meat for their tacos, burritos, quesadillas, covered fries, mulitas and covered chips are outrageously flavored. My friend said that this is his favorite taco in all of Southern California and now I understand why. The seating is indoor outdoor and the kitchen has a nice glass partition so you can watch the magic happen. The service is absolutely first rate with the employees going out of their way to make you feel welcome and invited - like you're eating in their home. Can't wait to come back! read more

Oh goodness the tacos and burrito here was so yummy! I went here on a Friday at 11:30am hoping to beat the lunch rush and I was wrong! There was a line outside the door and a canopy providing some shade. While we were waiting, an employee came out and distributed their laminated menus for customers to peruse. It was a no brainer for me... I went with the taco trio and a burrito to go for my hubby. While we were waiting, another employee walked out and was serving samples of their soft serve ice cream! That was a nice treat and it was so good!! The tacos I B ordered were asada, adobada and lengua. Tortilla itself is so soft and delicious! Generous serving of meat and guac. I tried all 3 salsas and my favorite was the green one. Over all I will def be back! read more
