Sat in the drive-thru for at least 20 minutes. I now see this is not uncommon based off of past reviews.

I finally came back, six months later, thinking the service might be better, or maybe the dining room open for a change. While the drive-through was considerably faster, the dining room is still closed. And this is something new, the tacos were thin. Usually Taco Casa stuffs them full, which makes this place such a great value. It's Taco Tuesday and I can't help but wonder if that's the reason. I wish I could come here and have a great experience on all fronts like I used to have. I've lived in Rockwall for three years and have always seen the line of cars circled around this Taco Casa location but never had the desire to try it thinking it was just a variation of Taco Bell. It wasn't until I read the review of another poster on this site that I decided I would give it a try. At first I wasn't too impressed. Seeing how it was New Year's eve, I pulled up to the order box and waited and no one came on to take my order, so I drove around and low and behold, there were employees inside so I made another trip through the drive thru and this time I had to wait behind another car that pulled in ahead of me. I quickly scan the menu and order two Taco Lites (that I read about in another review) and a sweet tea. When I finally pull up to the window to pay, the guy says, "What did you order again?" I hesitated and considered driving off thinking they were a bunch of imbeciles, but gave him my order AGAIN and they filled it quickly and that was that. As for the tacos, I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were! Yes, it does kinda remind me of Taco Bell but I can't recall the last time I ate at one of those places. Next time I'm in the mood for tacos, I may go inside and take my time perusing their menu offerings instead being rushed to make a hasty decision at the drive-thru. Their sweet tea was pretty good too. Now that I know they have Taco Tuesday, that must of been when I saw cars lined up all around the building. I'll definitely give them another try. read more

We always stop at this one when we go visit family in Rockwall so today was no exception. Between all of us there's normally a Taco Salad, Chilada, Super Nacho ordered during everyone of our visits. We have always eaten in so I can't comment on the drive-thru accuracy however our usual complex orders have never been messed up. I always enjoy getting drinks at Taco Casa because of all the ice. You may want to ask for light ice if you aren't going to be around to have your drink refilled because they do put a large amount of ice in the cups. I'm happy to report that the place has always been clean when we've visited. I admit to checking out the restroom of a business before ordering food. If the bathroom is dirty I leave simple as that. The employees are always understanding and caring when it comes to meeting the demands of my picky kids even I lack that patience at times. ;) Overall this is a good location and pretty uniformed when it comes to comparing it to the other locations of Taco Casa. We will definitely keep returning when in Rockwall. read more

Checked website before going and it said they close at 11. Get in line at 8:45 pull up to order around 9:10 only be to be told they close at 9. Common courtesy would be to either honor all those in line before 9 or coming out to notify people. Not making them wait in line for over 20 mins just to get to the speaker to be told they are closed. This location use to be so kind but not anymore. Probably won't be going back. read more

I absolutely love Taco Casa... but they have to figure out this "no-glove" problem... the overall cleanliness of this location is an eye-sore. I'm actually highly impressed with this location. I had low expectations my first visit but honestly we had a great experience. Crispy tacos full of beef/cheese/lettuce/sour cream/tomato, the Chilada was delicious and satisfying and the nachos hit the spot (albeit jalapeño and neon cheese) my family was happy and full. We've had great service, hot/fresh food and will be back. We are definitely new to Taco Casa but won't be strangers. My Left Coast heart is happy *while not authentic they are genuine and I respect that. Worth the visit for sure. read more

I'm a big fan of Taco Casa but the location in Rockwall isn't one I'll visit again. I've eaten here three times--hoping each time I just caught them on a bad day--but all three times the tostada shells have been stale. The location on Coit in Plano is always fresh. Do yourself a favor and just go there. read more

This place is always amazing, love the food.. but today I walked in, waiting in line and I noticed, out of around 10 people working handling food, only 1 was wearing gloves... I couldn't believe it... I couldn't order food I had to walk out, watching the guy in the back grab the shredded cheese and throwing it on tacos, and the chick behind him grabbing the shells and putting tomatoes and lettuce on the tacos, it was I unbelievable for somebody to work in the food industry in front of all the customers with bare hands... I am a former Taco Bell lover. Taco Casa is what Taco Bell used to be. I love this place. The Super Tostada, Super Nachos, Super Salad and Super Burrito are my favorites. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food this is not the place. It has it's own special classification that is just yummy. The cheese/sauce/bean burritos blow Taco Bell out of the water, and their chips/queso portion is enough for half of the Duggars. The "queso" is most definitely bagged cheese, it's certainly not the usual Tex-Mex queso us fat Texans are used to, but it's good for the price and what it is. The chips are pretty bomb, too. Any time I've visited a Taco Casa the inside has always been incredibly clean, and it's almost as if the staff takes daily happy pills because they're nothing but nice. I and my friends did a taco-showdown at our latest game night - we sent out runners to taco bell, taco cabana, taco bueno, and taco casa, and then everyone ate four tacos - one from each joint. We ate them in different orders, so our vote wouldn't be tainted by being full. The final rankings: #1 - Taco Casa #2 - Taco Bueno #3 (tie) - Taco Cabana, Taco Bell I was a little surprised that Cabana didn't beat the Bell, since its sauce options are so superior, but I guess Bell's crunchy shell gave them an edge. Taco Casa's secret? Lots and lots of cheese I think. They are quite generous. And if you are driven to the necessity of fast food mexican, this is the place. Has anybody ever wondered why Tex-Mex fast food has to suck so much? Well, Taco Casa has managed to get it right. If you think about it, what goes into mexican food? 1. Tortilla 2. Bean 3. Meat 4. Cheese It's not all that complicated, and the only difference between the Taco Bell assembly line and a sit-down restaurant kitchen is quality of ingredients, quality of service, and the use of heat lamps to bake the food onto a hot plate before they bring it out. First time ever at a Taco Casa and was surprised actually. I went in thinking Taco Bell kind of food. Was SOOO MUCH BETTER!!! They have really good crispy tacos and soft tacos. They load up the tacos with meat, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, sour cream and they are not stingy on ingredients. They fill them over full so they don't look sad and pathetic like other places...(ie:Taco Bell) My son ordered two soft tacos and I had their Taco Lite and we shared a large sweet tea (tea Was nice and sweet)as well as cheap. In total we paid $8 bucks for both of us to grab a quick dinner and were full. The hot sauce is spicy but good. Definitely a place to grab a good, quick taco dinner! Would come again! Taco Casa in Rockwall and Garland must be franchised and the same owner. They will give you tons of cheese on the tacos and Chiladas. They had the nerve to go up on their prices. When people buy tacos, burritos, chiladas, any meal with meat. That's why the buy it because of the meat. You can buy a bean and cheese burrito or a bean taco. This franchise and most fast food tacos placd load tacos and burritos with cheese or lettuce or both. Del taco in California and a few other state's are the only one who balance the meat and cheese. Cheese is very expensive, so is it real cheese? taco Casa meat and hot sauce is why they have business and not the cheese. That's why people go to Jack in the box. Because they regular tacos are 2 for $1.18 and the tacos never change and people like deep fried tacos. Tacos Casa is over rated...the one in Mesquite is the best I've had. I Love Taco Casa. I could eat here every week if I could. Actually I have been here three times in the past week and I know it's bad to eat out all the time but this fast food place is way above your standard place. Wendy's and Taco Bell don't compare to Taco Casa. The tacos are PACKED with meat and cheese and taste so damn good. The filling inside a Taco Cabana taco was just pathetic compared to the tacos here. A coworker told me about taco casa, so I went there for lunch. I got a super taco and I asked if I they could put some red sauce on the taco or in a cup. Not only did the the lady making my taco refuse my request, she didn't say anything but node her head no and hand me my taco. Taco Casa's tacos, burritos, tostadas, and sweet tea is pretty great! Much better then taco bell or taco bueno, friendly staff and fast drive through. Their large tea is only .99¢ but within the past few months they have changed their cups to smaller paper cups with a "ice fill line" that is about an increase from the top of the cup so you only get about 3-4 drinks out of a large cup. read more

Taco casa is the best fast food Mexican restaurant in the area. The portions are great for the price. Nothing like TB. The food is always fresh. You can actually tell there's beef in the tacos. The chilada is one of my daughter's favorite. Atmosphere is fast food. The have a drive thru. Friendly for the most part My family eats here at least 3X a month. We have lots of teenagers! So I usually have a good experience at this location, but today it's a little ridiculous. There are 13 people waiting for food, one person making the food, one working front register, one on drive thru, one on prep shredding cheese and 3 cooking meat. I have been a customer of Taco Casa for a long, long time. And have always loved their Tacos and Salads. However, the Rockwall location that I frequent most has gone so far downhill, in every aspect. The Tacos have been downsized twice in the last couple of years, the prices have gone up, again. The employee's that had been working here for years(and were super) are almost all gone, the mgr is nowhere to be found.... replaced by some rude, slow, incompetent folks!
