Which I should have only ordered one, but the last time I was in town. I stopped at this exact location and the tacos were delicious. The Cashier also did a fantastic job. I was on my way down to San Antonio and needed a quick pit stop, so I pulled into Taco Casa #29 in Garland on a whim. I'd never heard of it before, but hey, sometimes those random stops turn into hidden gems. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of those times. Walking in, the place was... fine. Not dirty enough to raise alarms, but definitely not what I'd call clean either. It looked like it could use a good sweep. The interior is pretty barebones nothing memorable, and the bathrooms require a code from the counter, which is always a bit of a hassle. Now to the food. I ordered a super burrito ($5.35), a super taco ($4.49), and a Casa Delight ($1.39), bringing the total to $12.16 after tax. Starting with the Casa Delight: basically a fried tortilla dusted in cinnamon sugar. In theory, that's a win. In reality, mine was served at room temperature, which took away any chance it had to shine. If it were fresh and warm, I could see it being a solid treat, but as served, it lands at about a 2.5/5. The super taco was the biggest letdown. For nearly $5, I expected at least some flavor, but it was completely bland. It had decent size going for it, but that's about where the positives end. Otherwise, it missed the mark across the board. 1/5. As for the burrito... same story. Not hot, not flavorful, and honestly just a disappointing take on what should be a pretty straightforward staple. Another miss. That said, I'll give credit where it's due: the service was fast, and the employees were genuinely kind and courteous. That was easily the highlight of the experience. Bottom line: if you're in a rush and just need something quick, this place will get the job done. A great DFW staple! Fresh, reasonable priced Tex-Mex. it dosent try to be anything else with friendly service and a straight forward menu. Taco Casa is my favorite place for Americanized Mexican fast food. Do not be put off by the unsophisticated graphics the company uses to adorn it's signage, decor and food containers; there is serious food to be enjoyed here. The menu is sparse and there are no combo meals. The reoccurring themes I see in the food is do something, and do it well. The ingredients are great quality and stand alone on their own- so if you taste the beans, beef or cheese on their own- you will be tasting great quality components. Even the cups, straws and silverware are great quality and substantial. The only area were things are lacking is the atmosphere itself with is sterile and unimaginative, but seeing how delicious the food it, it's easy to see where the money is being funneled. Give Taco Casa a try- I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the great taste and good value. read more

I noticed a few concerns with this location. Personally I've had better luck at this location rather than Rockwall. My favorites are the Nachos and Chilada. If you experience problems demand to deal with the person in charge. If they don't handle the problem to your satisfaction ask for the Owner. He works in the store and often is on the cash register. He was always nice and wanted to know how satisfied we were at each visit. This store donates a lot of time and money to schools and charities so please let the owner know, he would fix anything he knew about. read more

I'm every time I come here I order the super burrito and super taco and I'm stuffed. Smaller menu than Taco Bell but tastes way better and they give you more meat and cheese. Very clean facility and professional and friendly staff. Food is made right in front in the customer and everyone that prepared had gloves. Food was hot and fresh. We love taco casa but very disappointed that the dine in is not open. I don't understand why I can go to a restaurant and sit and eat for an hour but I can't dine in at a fast food place? TX is open up to 75%, Doesn't make sense, to drive 30 mins and eat in our car. If this continues why are we still paying the same price for half the service and no accommodations. We went through the drive-through and placed a small order. It took 15 minutes plus to get the order. When I pulled over in the parking lot, my Burrito had food all over the outside of the burrito and the tortilla fell apart, when I tried to pick it up. I went back inside and explained to the cashier what the problem was. He was very nice and told me he would make another one. While I was standing at the counter waiting on the replacement burrito The young kid working on me prep line was putting toppings on my burrito and eating food from the prep line at the same time. I immediately inform the manager on the other side of the kitchen what took place when he cheerfully refunded my money. Then, the kid that was making the burrito still tried to give me the food. I explained that was disgusting and I wasn't going to eat the food that he made after I saw him eating food off to prop line while he was making it . He went back to the line and continued making food for other customers. I informed the manager that he was still making food for customers and he said he would deal with it. All the while the same employee is still digging his hands into the prep line supplies and making food for other customers. The food should've been thrown away in the employee fired on the spot. I ordered 3 burritos-sau. Order number 74. The receipt clearly showed no sauce. I called immediately at noon about 6 minutes from order. No answer no callback. I called again and the GM rudely told me that I needed to bring back the receipt I said my wife is passing by. I need the receipt. Her rudeness irritated me so much i personally jumped in the car to go get replacement order. When i got there she Cindy rudely said she was the GM and it is company policy. I gave her the original burritos back . Still no apology for me having to take a return back. She continued to be defiant like she was the Queen of the land. No apologies no customer service attempt. Where do I begin to describe the greatness that is Taco Casa?? First, don't let the plain orange/yellow signage turn you off. Before eating here, I would frequently see a Taco Casa sign here and there and would drive RIGHT by it thinking it was some ghetto or random, independently owned eatery or.....or....I dunno, it just didn't draw me in. Then, one of my best friends was going on and on about how absolutely fantastic the food is. He drives from downtown Dallas to Garland to get his Taco Casa fix when there are numerous Taco Bells and Taco Buenos (among other fast food restaurants) nearby. Well, I'll try new things! There's something to be said for drunken culinary inspiration... What I love about Taco Casa is that their crazy mashups look and taste like something I might come up with when dragging leftovers out of the fridge at 2am. I can't think of any other place in Texas where black olives are perfectly acceptable in a burrito, and on an enchilada, and in a taco, and... well, you get the idea. In spite of the apparent train wreck factor here, the food is damn tasty, and very much a guilty pleasure of mine. This is not a bad fast food tacoplace-it's just that it is a fast food taco place. It's very average. The food taste fine and is not going to break the bank. It is large and well lit and seems fairly clean whenever I have gone. I do like the car shows they have with reliable frequency int he parking lot. Perhaps I have caught them at bad times - but I haven't found the same helpful staff-in fact they have seemed downright apathetic on most visits. They do seem to help local schools and have a presence in the community so I give them props for that. Not really the biggest fan of Hispanic food, but this restaurant was really good. The tacos here didn't use a fancy sauce to be a cliche secret recipe. It was just plain old fashioned tacos. They also have heavy ties with the community and their car show events. Supporting both Lakeview and South Garland, the local highschools in the area is another plus. Sometimes you get the fast food mexi-munchies, and for me that narrows down to three places close to me...Taco Bueno, Taco Bell, and Taco Casa. As of late Taco Casa is getting all the love. It shouldn't. The menu is so simple, they sell about 5 items. But the bottom line is their ingredients are fresh and their food is not overly salted and does not taste processed. When I go I get the Super Taco and Super Burrito, it's a good amount of food for a decent price. They also have an enchirito, and it has the olives Taco Bell got rid of so long ago. Hooray for olives (they're in the super burrito as well, and taste great). When I compare the food nutritionally, it falls in second place...Taco Bell is slightly lower in calories and fat. ironically, I still think the Taco Casa is the healthier choice...it just doesn't taste nearly as processed. I love coming to this place. Fast food American taco place that is good and not scared to fill a taco and actually let a person feel like they are getting a good value for the money spent. Keep in mind, it's fast food, it's not Mi Cocina, etc. Never frozen food. In fact, they don't even have a freezer here, all food is fresh. No chicken products though, no freezer. Dollar any size tea. Taco shells are made right here, the cheese is grated here. They just recently got rid of Taco Tuesday (discounted prices on tacos). Not sure why, they don't seem to be hurting for business, always hoppin. I'm disappointed in the taco Tuesday thing, just because it gave me a good excuse to eat here on Tuesdays, now that's gone. Kind of like the exact opposite of gourmet, if Taco Bueno was considered gourmet. Their cheese reminds me of the kind the government gives poor people for free. Their hot sauce is a spicy red goo with little flavor. With that said, at first I hated this place, but after being forced to revisit it numerous times since my family likes it, I became addicted. The Food here is pretty good, and the Pricing is fair, but there is one little Female Manager that is horrible. She needs a swift lesson in Customer Service. She is not friendly and just wants to argue when you ask a question. I would have rated the place with a 4 or 5, but with the horrible Customer Service it gets a TWO.
