I really dislike, no HATE, the new ordering system screens. We even asked a worker if she could take our order, but she said we had to use the screen, which took about five minutes only for her to come over afterward to check my age. Everyone else who ordered while we were there seemed frustrated too, and it caused the line to back up. Steak burrito: very good, spicy as well and again a bit of gristle. Tailgater: chicken was good, no buffalo spice flavor at all. I live blue cheese, but there is something wrong/off with theirs. They dis have a proportional amount of cheese for the taco. Wasn't really a fan of the slaw on in though. Beans have great flavor and the rice has something unique in it. We went here in the morning and the crowds were not bad. The menu can be a little overwhelming, but was able to limit down of what we wanted. I can not remember the name, but can describe what was in it We ordered the following 1. Chorizo nachos with queso and guacamole 2. Fried Chick taco I forgot what my wife ordered. Anyways I enjoyed the food as it filled me up. You are going to pay around $5 to $6 dollars a taco. Nachoes, the funny thing is I could have used more chips as they gave you more queso and dip than chips. Service was kind as they gave us a lot of salsa when we asked for it. I did like it. Ive visited this location twice recently. Once for for happy hour with my MIL and SIL and once for takeout. We just planned to have a margarita but ended up ordering some queso as well. We stopped in at about 3pm and it wasn't busy. We sat at the bar and service was quick. The drinks were good but they put a ton of ice in the margarita on the rocks. My MIL said the sangria was good as well. Queso is always delicious here and definitely my most ordered item. My take out experience was great as well I got a margarita and queso to go. Service was really fast, it wasn't ready when I got there but I placed the order on my way so when I walked in they got right on it and I was in and out quickly. We finally got a torchy's in Rockwall after driving nearly 45 minutes before this location was here! The location is great. If you haven't tried it, you have to try the tacos. You can eat them anyway you want and all of them are good. Fish, meat, chicken, it doesn't matter and all of the ingredients are fresh and the sauces to go with them are fantastic, depending on your likes. The tacos are giant, so if you usually eat 4-5 street tacos, you'll be stuffed with 2-3. Baja shrimp tacos were my fave and the brisket tacos were a bit dry. I can see why people love the food here. The variety of the tacos is great. I prefer a more traditional taco. The tacos are very rich and the flavors are very busy in my mouth which isn't a bad thing. The food was fresh and well prepared. Their queso is pretty delicious too. I really liked their drink selection as well. What an improvement over the Luby's that was here previously! Torchy's opened on July 13, 2022 and had been so crowded that I waited 2 weeks to stop in. Very nice open floor interior, with booths, or bench seating & tables around the outer edges. A sports bar with 14 seats on east wall side, and nice cocktail tables in the middle of the floor. More seating out on the patio, via the side door, where the tables have shade umbrellas. Counter-serve purchase, then find your seating, and staff will deliver your meal. A soft drinks station on the south wall is centrally placed, and smartly organized. Parking: I parked across the street! This whole lot has been full to the brim the past 3 weeks! Another business is under construction in the next door suite, there were trucks & equipment all over the lot. Bar: Happy Hour 3PM to 6PM Daily! Breakfast Tacos: Served All Day 5 stars for this awesome facility, the drinks menu, and staff. A floor manager brought me a food item I forgot to order, no charge. Bartenders were awesome, had the bar clean & shiny. Plenty of room for a plate of food on this bar counter. I got 1 Ranch Hand steak breakfast Taco (3 stars), and 1 Classic breakfast Taco #2 potato, Egg, and cheese (4 stars). For 25¢ extra, add green Chile's. (mine ghosted for 1 star, hmmm...) I got the 5 churros order, but they were Torched!!!! Ouch. Work in progress, I will stick with 5 stars overall, and Torchy's kitchen should get there soon enough. We have always been a big fan of torchy's tacos and we were more than excited to have them come to Rockwall. When we decided to try it on day three and saw the line was at the door we almost decided to wait until another time. But everyone was friendly in the line moved so fast. We were 10 people deep outside and we were at the counter within 10 minutes max. Everyone was terribly friendly. We ordered my 3 favorite tacos; he tried the chicken burrito and hillbilly queso. Plus, there is a full bar so we had two Palomas. Everything was great. The burrito is really good but will probably stick to tacos because we love the variety. Went here five times and ordered the same thing every time. Last time the guacamole tasted like kitchen dish sanitizer or dish soap. The bowl that it was in was either not clean or the container that the guacamole was stored in was not clean. The chicken was cold. This means it's already prepared and they didn't heat it up. I cant eat at a place where they didn't freshly cook the meat or where they serve you food in dirty dishes. read more

This time I got the fried shrimp taco (which was amazing) and the beef fajita taco (it was good but the beef was a bit fatty, will get chicken next time). First time I came here I had a terrible interaction with the bartender. Her name is Regan and she's probably one of the worst bartenders I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. She's extremely rude and has the attitude of a 15 year old girl. I've worked in the service industry half my life and was taken back how awful she was at customer service. I have no idea why they would even think she's fit for being at the bar which is pretty much the face of the restaurant. This is my second time coming here and my wife loves the frozen margarita's so she has me grab one for her on the way home from work. Regan was unfortunately bartending tonight and I had just worked a 15 hour shift. So of course the last thing I wanted was to deal with someone like her. Nonetheless I had no choice and figured I give her another chance. I was hoping she would be in a better mood then last time but I was extremely mistaken. She immediately gave me attitude and was talking to me like I was a child. I almost felt the urge to call her out on her complete lack of customer service but I was so tired from the day I took upon myself to file a complaint with the manager Ana. She said she would look into it as soon as possible. I suggest you demote this child back to the dishwasher or food line coming from someone who's managed in food service she needs to be in another profession that doesn't involve any customer interaction whatsoever. I'm so happy they opened a Torchy's in Rockwall! I crave their queso on the regular and the fact they offer delivery (for not an arm and a leg) is something I take advantage of. Our usual orders are the trailer park, republican and the democrat but if you're feeling spicy the brushfire or cross roads are amazing tacos. The service here is friendly and pretty standard, you walk up and order and someone brings it to you. Overall the only qualm is the bar can be a little chaotic, we've dined in a few times and they've forgotten our margs or they came after our food. This place is great! read more

My husband and I met his parents for brunch one Saturday morning. They had been raving to us about how the tacos were so "damn good", so of course we wanted to try it. The line was already almost out the door when we arrived, which I didn't mind because it was my first time here and I needed time to look at the menu. Also made me feel like it was a good indicator of how great this place is! My husband ended up getting the Trailer Park taco and made it trashy, upon recommendation. I got a classic breakfast taco because you can never go wrong with a breakfast taco. I also got a Republican taco because the jalapeño sausage sounded amazing! The taco looked promising when it arrived. We ended up not liking the pico that was on the tacos, which was sad since we like pico. I ended up just eating the sausage from the Republican taco. The breakfast taco was okay, I've had better. I was really upset that I didn't like any of the salsas that came with the tacos. I never eat my tacos dry, but I did that day. Torchy's is amazing whenever I go I always sit at the bar and I get excellent customer service there. The server who always seems to always be there when I go is Regan with the black hair. She is amazing and very friendly to people. The food at Torchy's is amazing. They have top notch queso and delicious tacos, also they have really good desserts too and they are super fast at getting your food to you. When we first arrived, it was BUSY! Anywhere busy doesn't disappoint. Can we just talk about the queso for a minute?! We got the Hillbilly Queso & it was amazing! It has chorizo, and mmm mmm mmm. I ended up putting it on my tacos and *chefs kiss* I got the Green Chile Pork & Republican tacos. Husband got the Crossroads & Democrat tacos. The flour tortillas are THICC, pork wasn't dry, the tomatillo sauce had a little spice to it, and the poblano sauce was subtle. This is Torchy's newest location. Their grand opening was last weekend but I didn't dare go and wait outside in the never ending line. :) I decided to go today and I chose to go around 5:00pm. Thankfully I took one of the two empty parking spots. After walking inside, a young man greeted me and offered me a menu before pointing me in the direction of the dine in/to go line. I had about 15 minutes to look over the menu so I didn't feel rushed. Before placing my order at the counter, another employee asked each customer if they were dining in or ordering to go. This made the line divide and run smoothly without any confusion. I decided to get two beef fajita tacos, half an order of queso, chips and to my surprise, you can order alcoholic drinks to go so I added a frozen sangria with sugar on the rim. After paying for my food, the young lady pointed me to a bench near the Bar and gave me a disc to alert me when my food would be ready. I sat and started conversing with another customer. A few minutes later, an employee handed me my frozen sangria. I was kind of disappointed because I figured she would bring me my food at the same time. I didn't want my drink to melt. My food arrived about ten minutes later without the buzzer going off. I thanked the employee and headed out the door. When I arrived home, I heated up the Queso and couldn't stop eating it. It had a little kick but it wasn't too spicy. I opted for the basic Queso without the chorizo and guacamole. The corn and flour tortillas are made fresh daily. The chips didn't look or taste homemade but they were ok. I enjoyed my tacos but I honesty wish they would add more seasoning to the fajita meat. I ate a few pieces by itself and it's a little on the bland side. The Roja sauce comes on the side and I used it all on my taco. My frozen sangria is very good. I wish they would have remembered to put sugar on the rim. I have only had Torchy's twice in my life. My first time was about four years ago. I will definitely come back to try other tacos and possibly dine in. Cool looking place and it's a nice size too. I have been to one previously and it was so tiny. We had the chips and queso, it has a good flavor. I would ask for no cilantro because they add more to the top. Also maybe no pico, there was something else mixed in it that was a weird texture. (My person preference) I got the Baja and trailer (trashy) tacos in a bowl. I would definitely do both of those again. Only thing I would change is no pico on the trailer one. And my husband got the Democrat and crossroad tacos. All in all they were good no complaints! read more

First time in after a long day cleaning. Came in about 45 minutes before close on a Monday. Placed a to-go order and was really pleased. Ordered a brushfire, a Mr. Orange, Baja Shrimp and the Taco of The Month - The Cougar (A brisket taco) plus corn/elotes, a bean and rice combo, queso and chips as well as two Sangria Swirls. Came out to be about $64 plus a tip...so about $74. Everything was good, drink definitely got us lifted (much needed after a 6 hour deep clean). We have leftovers for tomorrow to enjoy a snack.
