Brisket tacos

Arboleda's Méxican Grill aka Rowlett's hidden gem. This Mexican Grill checks all the boxes: locally owned, spacious, great service and best of all, tasty food & great margaritas. They have all the old favorites and the latest ones to include birria tacos. A definite comeback and regular go to for our Mexican cravings. A must try.

Special of the Day: Carne Asada Tacos
TxSped T.

Update, 2/19/2026: We tried Arboleda's again this evening. Wow! What a change! I had the Special - Carne Asada Tacos - and, they were amazing! These were 3 slightly crispy corn tortillas with carne asada, slices of avocado, and the best white cheese! They made a great decision by changing to charro beans from refried beans. We're very pleased, and so happy that we now have a Mexican restaurant so close by!

Enchilada chili con carne

Nice neighborhood restaurant located at the entrance of Waterview community in Rowlett. Nice Mexican recipes especially the enchiladas and tacos. Nachos as appetizers worked well. The salsa came in two styles. The one served warm was the best. One of 3 locations. Wednesday is enchilada day $7.99 Don't forget the dessert. Nice bar and happy hour offerings.

REMODELED! Now twice the size! With booth seating! Liberty Grove Arboledas Mexican & Tex-Mex restaurant is upgraded!

3 Arboledas locations, and Liberty Grove used to be Baby Arboleda, but has now grown up after a nice remodel job. Same location as before, just twice the size. Same weekly specials. Same big menu to choose from many tasty dishes. I had Enchiladas Verdes, in a poblano sauce, filled with chicken Fajitas, and white cheese Yum!

It's on the smaller size but don't underestimate it! Ben greeted us and told us we could sit anywhere, we found our seats and ordered drinks and appetizer. My husband had a Mexican Coke and I tried the happy hour house margarita. It was made fresh by hand! It was so good. Perfect balance of flavor. I also enjoyed their jalapeno margarita. For app we got the queso blanco which was flavorful and delicious and we enjoyed the hand made chips. For entree we ordered the steak fajitas and omg they were the best steak fajitas we have ever had and their beans are black beans and so yummy. So I have to give props to back of house Emmanuel and Kendall. I know it sounds like i'm affiliated with them, but I assure you I will just leave a great review when it's deserved!

Instead told us the online menu shows the new prices. But that's irrelevant since we agreed on menu prices when we ordered. For these prices, I would've expected better service. It took almost 35-40 minutes to get our first dish. Then another 20 minutes for the 2nd dish since they forgot it. Made it up by giving us free dessert which is fine. Birria tacos were okay, nothing special. Birria Ramen was better. One of the waiters didn't seem to know what belongs to what. Had to keep asking for help. Almost gave us the wrong item twice. Seemed a bit disorganized. Ambiance was okay. Felt like any typical Mexican restaurant. Nothing memorable.

As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted, seated and brought chips and salsa which I devoured. For starters, we had the guacamole salad and queso. We had to stop eating the queso and guacamole to save room for the main course because it was that good. My wife ordered the ground beef and shredded chicken enchiladas with all the fixings. They were very good with the red sauce and Spanish rice. The beef had a very good seasoning and the chicken had a taste like it had been marinated for a few hours. I had the beef fajitas. The beef was tender, succulent and seasoned well. The only thing that I didn't like was that the fajitas had a sweet taste to it. I believe the sweet taste was from sweet bell peppers or sweet onions, nevertheless, it was too sweet for my taste buds. We enjoyed ourselves, enjoyed the margaritas and the starters, but next time, I'll try some shrimp nachos. I give Ernesto's Mexican Restaurant three out of five drinks. Cheers!

Parking took a little hunting, but that's downtown for you. Consider it a brief appetizer of frustration. Once inside, the restaurant was quiet, and the service was excellent. Our drinks never ran dry, and the chips and salsa runneth over. Both were really good, which made it difficult to remember we had actual meals coming. We also ordered queso, because apparently chips need options. It wasn't my favorite; the flavor was okay, but it was THICK. Less "dip your chip" and more "check your chip's structural integrity." I'd probably skip it next time. On our server's recommendation, I tried the brisket enchiladas. Definitely a departure from the traditional version: the tortillas were filled with mashed potatoes, with brisket on top and sauce underneath. Those potatoes soaked up the sauce like they'd been assigned the job, which made the dish a bit greasy. That said, the flavor was really good. Would I come back? Absolutely. I'd probably explore some other dishes next time, but the friendly service, quiet atmosphere, and steady supply of chips and salsa made this a pleasant lunch. Worth a stop if you're in the area; just leave a few extra minutes for the downtown parking scavenger hunt.

I got a ranch water, which was weak and the seltzer seemed kind of flat. Others in my group got on-the-rocks margs and were likewise not impressed.
