Prices on the menu don't match what they charged. Brought it up a manager who didn't offer to discount it to what we agreed to on the menu. Instead told us the online menu shows the new prices. But that's irrelevant since we agreed on menu prices when we ordered. For these prices, I would've expected better service. It took almost 35-40 minutes to get our first dish. Then another 20 minutes for the 2nd dish since they forgot it. Made it up by giving us free dessert which is fine. Birria tacos were okay, nothing special. Birria Ramen was better. One of the waiters didn't seem to know what belongs to what. Had to keep asking for help. Almost gave us the wrong item twice. Seemed a bit disorganized. Ambiance was okay. We had always passed by this restaurant when heading to visit family, or get grocery shopping done in Rowlett, and had always made a mental note to come check it out. Finally remembered to try them when my toddler and I were craving mexican food, and it was so good! I go the brisket grilled cheese sandwich that came with consomme- it was packed full with brisket, and so delicious. My daughter got a chicken quesadilla (tried and true, haha) and she liked it as well. We picked up, and they were so sweet and helpful when we went in. 2/19/26: This was my first visit. The restaurant is Veteran owned and operated. I went with my neighbor for lunch. We sat at the bar, and Coltyn took care of us. I had a Michelada, which was very good, and my neighbor had a beer. Both drinks were served in a mason jar, and looked great with a Tajín rim. Coltyn brought us chips and salsa. The chips were nice and crunchy, and the salsa had a medium spicy kick to it. I had Carne Asada Fries, and my neighbor had a Guac Lettuce Taco and a Bean and Cheese tostada. Our food was prepared fresh, and came out hot! The Carne Asada fries is shareable. I wasn't able to finish my plate. The restaurant was pretty clean, with nice decor, and a few TV's throughout. The bar area was nice, there were plenty of tables available, and there were a couple of tables just outside the restaurant. Coltyn was a great host, and we'll definitely be back. 2/20/2026 We went to Senaida's today and had a wonderful lunch. Tabi our waitress was so nice and attentive. He ordered an Aqua de Melon, refreshing and a bit bitter but my husband loved it. He had the Carlitos. I had cheese enchiladas and my daughter had the chicken enchiladas all were very tasty. My husband had a bit of room for dessert he had the Flan with the carmamel sauce.. loved that too. Nice people, great food and service read more

Been here a few times before, but I dont think I'll EVER return now. Last night my family and I came in around 6:30pm. Right away we sat down and played tic-tak-toe with our kiddos cause we knew the staff would take a second. But after about 10-15 mins, and after BOTH a female and male waitress walked back and forth in front of us, I noticed NO ONE WOULD LOOK AT US. NO ONE GREETED US. NO ONE SPOKE TO US. NOTHING. I'll wait a long time if someone at least says "I'll be right with yall". That at least makes me feel noticed and welcome. The service here was stellar. Two young men took a huge interest in us enjoying our meal. Chips and salsa are on point (we are salsa snobs). The music was too loud (where is it NOT too loud these days?) and you just seat yourself... decently clean, and food was pretty good. Hubby got the birria tacos, and I got the sour cream brisket enchiladas. They were fine. Not super, but good! Not much seasoning- just good meat inside a nicely cooked meal. Very filling. Small and cute place to have some good mexican food! I had the sopes and I had to try at least a carne asada taco to judge it well, and yup... we have been here now 4 times and we have made a decision to make it our spot for taco tuesday. I recommend their mango margaritas with tajin, they taste fresh and they are not too strong which is actually enjoyable. The service is fast and friendly, but they can definitely use an extra person on their busy days, but overall they are awesome! read more

It was our last day in Texas and I was determined to find some outstanding Tex-Mex before our flight out of Love Field later that evening. After my usual thorough and methodical research, we decided upon Senaida's Mexican Kitchen in Rowlett. And after studying their menu, I knew exactly what I was going to order! Senaida's is situated in a strip mall with large, peculiar graphics on their window from the neighboring foot specialist, but don't let that deter you. Once inside, the restaurant is beautiful and clean with vibrant Tex-Mex decor that pays homage to their local town of Rowlett. Loved the draft beer service here. Comes out ice cold in a huge, chilled Mason jar. I ordered the "Enchiladas Potosinas" and it was excellent! Six small red handmade tortillas filled with queso fresco topped with more queso fresco and an artful drizzle of Crema Mexicana. Served with rice, lettuce & tomato and a pickled jalapeno. Such a unique and delicious dish that I truly enjoyed. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it in SoCal. My wife had the brisket enchiladas which looked and tasted great. My son had the birria ramen and loved it. They even had chopsticks for him. Service here is so genuine and authentic. Very nice people, we enjoyed visiting with them. We definitely plan to return the next time we're in Central Texas. read more

Came here for the first time for lunch today. Service was decent. The restaurant is really small with maybe 15 tables and a bar. Chips seem to be homemade. The queso and salsa were really good so we thought the food would be as well. My husband got the chicken quesadilla and said it was lacking serious flavor. I got the street tacos on corn tortillas. The tortillas were thick and stuck together so I couldn't peel them apart to only eat one.l per taco. The meat was subpar when it came to flavor and there were many chewy bits. Come to think of it... the tacos can be described as chewy... from the meat to the tortillas. Strange. My mom liked her nachos, but then again, how can you mess nachos up? Probably won't be back to try other menu options as two of three meals were just bland and weird. Prices are decent. Just wish the food was a lot better. read more

Senaidas restaurant is enjoyable. Food is good. I have had their Sopes and they give you a choice of meats. They add Mexican cream on top buy I request they not add it and they accommodate. Molcajete Beef Fajitas Senaida's is the best Mexican restaurant in Rowlett. The others don't even come close. The Molcajete bowl is their signature dish and if you've never had it, you're missing out on life entirely. My next favorites are the beef and shrimp fajitas. They are nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. The rice and charro beans that come with are great. Big portions too! You definitely get your money's worth! To top things off, they make an outstanding margarita on the rocks for $5.00. Places like the Smoky Rose, Gloria's, Christina's, Meso Maya, Javier's all make a $12.00 nasty Sour- canned mix of some kind, horrible margarita. Do yourself a favor and get your saddle in here! We visited Senaidas for the first time today for an early dinner. It was a positive experience and I would def return. Drinks: water, modelo (draft), mango margarita on the rocks Appetizer: chori-queso Entrées: brisket sour cream enchiladas, enchiladas entomatadas Complimentary chips and salsa were tasty (I'm a spice wimp so I hate it when I go to a place and their salsa is too spicy to eat). I thought my husband was nuts for ordering brisket with a cream sauce but it worked and was ridiculously delicious. My drink was not sickly sweet nor too bitter from cheap tequila. Beans were seasoned very well. My only disappointment was the rice was too crunchy for me. I like a soft (almost too soft) rice. Service was pleasant, checked on us enough without making us feel rushed. Ladies room was in decent shape. I look forward to coming back and trying more menu items! No bueno. We tried a ton of items because we figured it's cheap, we haven't been here yet, and we'll have leftovers. Sadly, I threw most of it away. I'm giving them two stars because the waitress who took my to go order was very friendly though they seemed busy and it took over 30 minutes to get our order. Should have called ahead rather than show up but I didn't know what kind of place this was until I got there. For reference it does have some tables and a bar but they can definitely do to-go, just call ahead. The food: All of the meat options (brisket, carne asada, al pastor, chorizo, and chicken) were flavorful on their own but the dishes they were featured in were all disappointing. We tried: Nachos with al pastor and brisket: blandzilla and not enough cheese (we did get our queso on the side due to my husband's lactose sensitivity but it was so hardened and goopy in texture. It had to be constantly warmed to stay smooth which wasn't worth the effort) Carne Asada Fries: again super bland and the fries were clearly right out of a frozen bag. Chicken Flautas: the chicken tasted so overcooked after they massacred it in the deep fryer and had almost no flavor Torta with Chorizo: what a joke. Where's the meat?! Also, completely wrong bread. It was on this like soft, crumbly white loaf. It was not toasted and absolutely the wrong choice for this staple. Brisket* Enchiladas Verdes: these are supposed to come with chicken but I subbed in brisket instead and they were probably the best thing we ate but the verdes salsa tasted like it was from a can. At least we got a variety from their menu so I could learn my lesson: don't come here again. read more

If I was able to offer more than 5 stars, I would. We started going to Senaidas shortly after they first opened after becoming curious about what had replaced Costa Nostra (the Italian restaurant that used to be there). From the first visit we were hooked. Everything is so good here and it passed my husband's strict chips and salsa expectations. While the food is fantastic we fell more in love with the family that runs this restaurant. They have always remembered us, from day one. When we visit it feels like catching up with old friends. During Covid we sometimes would just order random things just because we wanted to make sure we kept this place open, we couldn't stand the thought of losing our favorite restaurant. Recently they had to close for some construction that was needed and we have massive withdrawal and can't wait for them to open again in January! read more

When I enter Senaida's Mexican look like cozy room. There has bar counters and table with booth on the wall. It neat as new. Services was so great to serve the foods and drinks. Taste was so awesome. First time here and it's a small place in a shopping center, but luckily; it was not too busy for Saturday lunch time. We were served chips made from scratch and they offer fountain drinks, bottled drinks, like Mexican Coke or Jarritos, as well as aguas frescas, which are different depending when you go. They were offering agua de piña so i decided on that and it was delicious. The menu has so many authentic Mexican food options, it was hard to choose! I settled on green chicken enchiladas and my goodness they were good and tasted homemade. My niece had sour cream enchiladas and my husband had posole, which is offered on the weekends along with menudo. We all enjoyed our meals and I look forward to making the drive out to Rowlett to try all their other menu items and maybe some alcoholic drinks in the future. read more

Cheap and casual Mexican The queso is exceptional. White queso, great texture, excellent flavor. Comes with a little pico on the side that goes well. The salsa is also worth noting. Red tomato based with a good kick and good chili flavor. Both of these are a must to start. $2 street tacos are ok, probably liked the regular chicken ones the best. Also had the brisket and pastor but neither were mind blowing. Really like the refried black beans and rice. The rice is super fresh and has a nice mild flavor and the beans aren't over salted which is refreshing. The flan is amazing. Creamy but light texture in between cheesecake and the normal jello -y flan. It also has a cinnamon flavor that's a really nice touch. Not sure if I like it more than the original Ninfas, but it's a thin line and this place is much closer. The queso and the flan are the reason for 4 stars, looking forward to exploring more of the menu. read more

Came on taco Tuesday 1.50 for some awesome street tacos I tried them all. The nachos were also delicious. If you have good chips and salsa most likely the food will be good. While there is a lack of staff and can be slow at times they truly are very nice people the food was amazing we had the cheese dip as an appetizer it was very very delicious and doesn't get hard quickly like other cheeses I've had. The shrimp fajitas are very flavorful and the fresh guacamole that came with it was nice and silky smooth. We had the churros for dessert the ice cream that came with it really balanced the rich heavy cajeta flavor. The inside was very clean and had a nice intimate feeling inside. The plates to the art really did express Mexican food while not perfect it was very close to i will definitely be coming again. read more
