The food here is alright. They are better at some of the other foods than the traditional pastas or pizza. The pizza isnt all too great if that's your main focus then it'd be best to go to a different place. The seafood and burgers are all pretty good and I would recommend coming here for more of those type of foods rather than pizza or pasta. Great good. Great bar. Friendly and good service. It was a Sunday night so it was slow. But the food is fresh and well prepared. Morris county is in desperate need of more places like this! We lack out door seating for mid Sunday sangria and chill...and let me tell you my good friend this place has a good sangria and a few precious outdoor seats where you and a few friends can sit back relax enjoy the parade of gorgeous women of Dover and sip on a cold sangria while feeling the heat off the road. Bathrooms....clean! Seating....plenty! Decor .....love that bulls....should be more of it because this place is just right! Service....perfect! Food? Very good. My only suggestion.....you look like Barcelona you feel like Barcelona....take the Italian food off your menu and just ask yourself "what would Antonio Bandaras eat?" Love Table 42! Have been here many times for dinner and have never been disappointed. Their shrimp sambuca small plate is to die for...definitely recomend trying it! All of the staff there....from the servers to the bartenders to the owners... are extremely friendly. My family has had multiple parties here and the owner Chuck always does everything he can to make sure we are taken care of and enjoyed both our meals and our time there. Ever since the first time we ate there, we have felt as if we were welcomed into the "Table 42 Family." Always enjoyed my meals here. Weekends get very busy so make sure to make a reservation. Don't love the parking but take advantage of the municipal lot in the back. Food was pretty good..better than the average however for our first time visiting the service was a huge disappointment. The waitress was sweet and efficient as anything but after apologizing over and over that the food was late getting out at least have the decency to offer a cup of coffee or dessert on the house. Even the manager came by to apologize but made no amends....very sad way to treat a first time customer (the waitress knew it was our first time). At Table 42 the owner lets people leave not Happy with there experience. They forget that the customer is always right. I had a chicken dish and the chicken was over cooked. The pasta was mush. The overall experience could have been handled better. They are short sighted and concerned about screwing their customer for the dollars today and don't care if you come back. My friends and I walked into the restaurant and asked to sit at a table and the host, an older male, asked if we were looking for something "more casual" and recommended that we go over to the pizzeria. I was pretty offended because I asked for a table and I know what I want, but your post is making my think that there's a tendency to try and steer away Hispanics in the area. It's a shame because I loved their sambuca pizza, but there's obviously a trend at this establishment. You'll enjoy your time if you are of American descent, but you may be judged or steered away due to your skin color. read more

Horrible horrible horrible, stay away, went there w a group of 8, every couples tab was at least $140.00 and multiple times were served drinks w fruit flies and other bugs in the drinks. After once you can understand some liquor is sweet and attracts various bugs, but when you return that drink and you receive more with larger flies in a clear drink that is unacceptable. Also the miserable bartender was literally checking her watch to hint at us to get out. Went on Friday night with friends and was a bit disappointed, which surprises me because the last time we went here, there were no issues. Our group wanted calamari. Some of us wanted the firecracker version and some wanted the regular version. The waitress said she'd have it cooked plain, and she'd bring both marinara sauce and the spicy sauce as well as the cherry peppers on the side. When it came out, only the sauces were brought out, no cherry peppers. I ordered a Tito's dirty martini which was delicious. I ordered a second one and the vodka was definitely not Tito's the second time. I told our server and she had it fixed, and she said she watched that time to make sure they used Tito's. It came back correct. Then the big disappointment was the grandma pie we ordered extra well done came out not even luke warm. By the second slice, the pizza was cold. I don't understand why all these kinks happened, especially since it wasn't that busy when we were there. Won't be going back anytime soon. read more

OK folks. I will put it on record here as I've told everyone I encounter. Table42 has the best bacon cheese burger I've ever had in my life. The patty is thick and very juicy. It comes with tasty fries on the side. I've gone to so many places and asked for a Bacon Cheese Burger just to compare, and just about nothing gets even remotely close. I've had one and I'll drop it's name because it isn't close by to this one. Bea McNally in Hackettstown. However nothing within the area comes close. Even with what I just mentioned, that one still comes in second on my list and just about nothing else comes close. With that out of the way, I haven't had any other food here. I mainly go for the bar which is very chill and relaxing. Honestly, Table42 doesn't even feel like you are in Dover. Makes me think I am in Morristown or something. A lot more modern and different than you standard food joints in Dover. Parking is easy after 6pm I want to say because that's when a lot of the folks that work in Dover go home or aren't parking on the streets to go to the closed businesses. Thus it's easy to find parking for the place on the street. If you go on a Friday, they typically have live music which is real nice. Sometimes almost too loud where it's hard to hear one another, but for the most part, it feels just right. If I have one complaint and it is minor, considering the place got a make over from the previous owner, the men's restroom can still use some improvements. I don't want to go into them, but they would be obvious once you walk in. It looks like they skimmed out on upping it, let's put it that way. Otherwise, the place kicks butt. Frequented Table 42 on Saturday night with 5 couples. I cannot rave enough about this new establishment. The aesthetics of the restaurant are warm and inviting. Every detail was well thought out. The live entertainment was excellent. The bar - perfection! Now, the for the main attraction - the food! We had appetizers comprised of the Firecracker calamari, fried meatballs and eggplant rollantini. Everything was delicious. My entree was the Penne Vodka. Done to perfection and delicious. My husband had the steak , that too, delicious. The wait staff was attentive. Food came out piping hot. Excellent dining experience and will surely be our go to place. I live near by and was not expecting much from this place because its new and Italian American fare(not my favorite). I looked at the menu before we went and the one con is the menu isn't very creative. The service was really great, our waitress was very nice and attentive. The Firecracker Calamri was AWESOME, I would go back again just for that. I had Chicken Francese and it was perfect, I loved it. Husband had the filet Mignon and he was really happy with it. We had desert ( home made flan!) and what can I say, we left feeling really good. I hope this place does well, it is worth checking out. I used to go here when its that "other place, with lots of beer choices...", but haven't been to Table 42 and boy was I happy I did! My nephew had a church function in the neighboring town and decided that I'd meet him and my sister for dinner. I actually chose this night because they didn't have live music, not always a good thing with a twelve year old in tow. Arrived at around 8:30pm to "open mic night" and asked the hostess for a table in the back. She said this was the second week that they had music on a Thursday. Okay, I didn't come for the music, but the people up at the bar were having a great time, and truth be told, they were actually pretty good. Perhaps Dover is the new Nashville? anyway, it wasn't a bother at all. Server was awesome, glasses never ran dry and she stopped just the right amount of times, my inner self was smiling. I ordered a crab cake for an appetizer; which you should do as well. All crab, no breading and served with a small salad, it really was about the best you can get north of Cape May. For dinner I had the pork chop. Tonight, I will dream of this chop, PERFECTLY cooked, seasoned, tender with a nice crust on the outside, and did I mention perfectly cooked? It's a meal in itself, with an awesome reduction that you could dip every last bite into. It really was a dish that I will go back for time and time again. My sister had the eggplant parm and brought 1/2 home (a good sign, she rarely takes home leftovers!) and my nephew the penne in vodka sauce, which we said was the second best he ever had. We added an order of garlic bread for the table, and should have ordered two, they were that good. I'm a happy guy right now, I am so glad we decided to eat here tonight, it was a great night and super reasonable for the quality of the dishes we had. Ate here for the first time this evening. Found the food, service and ambience to be very good. We were a group of four and we all agreed we would return. One couple shared the Cowboy for two. The steak was huge and could have easily fed all of us. My wife had the chicken Marsala. She said it was very good albeit a bit saltier than she would have liked. As for myself I was pleased that the chef was willing to make an off the menu dish for me - veal saltimbocca. It was prepared very well with the veal portions big and tender. Will definitely go back! The atmosphere is positive and upbeat. The staff was very friendly and courteous. My husband and I went there for dinner. We ordered the steamed clam appetizer (Delicious) and we split a tri color salad. The salad was good but I like cheese in my salad and if it came with a bit of crumbled blue cheese it would have been perfect for me (note: I didn't request cheese, but I am sure they may have honored a special request). My husband had a veal dish that was very good and I had the red snapper special. I loved the red snapper. I want to go back there again! After looking at various restaurants in the area on Yelp, we decided to head to Dover and try Table 42. We liked the vibe and the menu had plenty to choose from. The firecracker calamari was spicy and sweet and delicious. It was a large portion so there was some to take home. Entrees were shrimp scampi over linguini and Chicken Catalina. Good stuff. They have a basic martini menu if you like a martini with your meal. Service was friendly and attentive. The dining area is small but cozy. It is close to the bar so the noise can get a little loud at times...but hey, it's a bar. We'll go back for sure. read more

Went to a new restaurant/pub that just opened called Table 42 . Can't say enough about the place! Great, relaxing atmosphere, love the decor. Staff, warm and friendly. If you enjoy a good beer, Table 42 has an extensive beer menu, with some unique choices. And, if you enjoy a good wine, Table 42 has a great selection. The food is fresh and delicious, with great bar menu selections, and dinner choices. They are also conveniently located by the Dover Train station. This will be my favorite hang out, especially for Sunday football! read more

My wife and I stopped in for a quick dinner before a show last Saturday night. The place was hopping with live music and a lively crowd. We were in a bit of a rush so we ordered quickly and sipped refreshing sangria. Their service was friendly and fast. We ordered a couple of pasta dishes which were excellent. Everything from start to finished was great! It was acoustic open mic night and the entertainment was pleasant. We sat in the back so it wasn't too loud. Warm bread was served with an outstanding oil and olive mixture. We had the eggplant rollatini as an app- perfectly cooked and delicious... I could have had a whole plate of that for dinner and been satisfied. For dinner I had the chicken franchise which was good but if I had to be picky, a little too lemony for me but still had nice flavor. My friend had the spinach salad with chicken on top and she enjoyed that as well. We shared the homemade apple crisp for dessert which was out of this world!! Purchased a groupon for $10 for $20 worth of food. The bread was good the first basket was room temperature the second basket was warm. The olive oil comes with peppers and carrots and is different but very good. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Wed night is open mic night and there was someone playing music and singing the staff came over numerous times to ask if it was too loud - it was a tad loud but manageable. The music was very good. Dinner for 2 consisted of boneless chicken with sausage and a side of pasta and chicken parm with pasta. Your side choices are (pasta or potatoe and vegetables). We did not have dessert or appetizer. I had a glass of wine for $6. Overall the food was good the the place was very clean and not too crowded we sat in the back there were about 8 tables for dinning and a few more up front plus the large bar.
