For dinner we had chicken Caesar wrap, chicken fingers, chicken Parmesan, Caesar salad with chicken, and a veal Parmesan side of garlic bread. Always fantastic. Enjoyed a few desserts to share brownie with ice cream and the cannoli trio. Been here a few times and the food is always the best. Great all around! I waited till I tried a few things before rating. First for non- Italian fare. Their burgers are great and tasty. As are the wings are also good(good quality white meat.) My favorite is their carbonara pasta. Huge portions and amazing flavor. Great pasta fagioli/pasta fazool. You definitely won't leave this place hungry between the soup or salad and your pasta. The place is rustic, but the food is really, surprisingly good. Decor looks old from outside, inside opens up a bit to a cozy, local feel. The place could use new lighting but nothing stood out that would kill the mood. Have a full bar right after you enter. Service was attentive and helpful. Went to dinner with my husband, a little late, around 7:00. There were 3 other tables being served at the time so not really busy. Menu is typical Italian fare, I ordered shrimp scampi with linguine and hubby got chicken parm with ziti. I had caesar salad as my side and he got a cup of pasta fagioli. Salad was a tiny bit undressed but ok and he enjoyed the soup but needed to add a lot of grated parm to it. Entrees came out and looked good. He said the chicken was good but his ziti was cold, and I tasted it and definitely cold. My scampi was hot, including the pasta, but that's the best I can say. There was literally no flavor. If you blindfolded me and told me to taste it I could not give you one flavor. I ended up having to add a ton of salt to get something to taste good. Hubby said chicken was good but the sauce was unpleasant. Waitress didn't check on us until we were almost done and hubby had food in his mouth at the time so couldn't get words out to complain. Ordered dessert (tiramisu and cheesecake) and these ended up being the best part of the meal. Actually ended up ordering a 2nd piece of tiramisu! Waitress was pleasant but seemed preoccupied with getting closing tasks done rather than checking on us even though by the time we ordered we were her only table. Review has nothing to do with the place itself or the food. The owner is friendly and the food is great done by authentic italians. My grip with the place is the attitude of the waitress/bartender/bathroom cleaner. The whole time she keeps on complaining on how she has to do everything herself and has to do everything herself. Excuse after crying excuse. At the end of the meal, I asked for a receipt so that I can write it off on the business. She kept on saying "oh i dont have the time" and basically wanted me to illegally make one up myself. I asked if they had a fax to make a copy, nothing but excuses and she immediately went into b*tch mode. Doesn't have time for this doesn't have time for that. Its 2 pm in the afternoon, there's one other table. And she cant reprint a receipt. So for her attitude problem, we cut the tip down to 1/3 what were going to leave. Remember, your job is to do what the customer asks you to do, not give bs responses and what you not going to do and not going to do. If you have an attitude problem, either quit or leave it at home! She played games as well, we were supposed to get 10% off the bill for paying cash and she never bothered to do so. Well last time was our first time there and I have to say I was very impressed they even have an early bird special from 4 to 6. It came with a Caesar salad which was a dollar extra the lettuce was so fresh and the dressing was amazing and I had the chicken franchise two big pieces of chicken and a side of pasta and the bread was delicious nice and warm. I cannot believe after all these years living up here I was never there before the drinks were very relatively inexpensive and the people are so nice we even met the owner he had the chicken Alfredo again two big pieces of chicken over pasta it was not on the early bird but it was delicious and again the salad was very fresh I would highly recommend this place and will be going back more frequently you can't beat the prices and the ambiance I give it a five star rating :-) read more

We held my friend's bridal shower at Ron's and everything was perfect! The service was great. There were a few waitresses working who were very nice and attentive to everyone's needs. The restaurant served some of their best catering trays for us, buffet style. They have amazing Italian food! I am a vegetarian and still had a variety of great options. Hadn't been to Ron's Landmark for 30yrs, but had lunch with a friend this past week. So glad we chose Ron's. The food was really a delight and the service was excellent. I had the Chicken Venetian with angel hair pasta and my friend had the Chicken Franchise also with angel hair. She ate all of hers, but I couldnt finish mine. These were smaller portions for lunch, but still a good size. We both got salads with the meal. I also ordered a pizza to take home to my hubby. So glad I did, as I am not a real pizza fan, but this pie was one of the best I have had in awhile (not counting the pies at Star Tavern in Orange nor the Reservoir Tavern in Booton). My boyfriend and I have been coming here for years. We haven't come in a while, so we went tonight. I was less than impressed. The parking always sucks, so I parked by Shoprite. We were about to walk in and there is a man and a woman smoking a cigarette right where people are walking into a restaurant. So gross. Next, we are waiting for the hostess. A waitress walks by us, to go get the hostess. In past experiences, the hostess is usually waiting by the door for customers. She finally gets to us and says she needs to clean a table off for us. Literally there were plenty of empty tables. We're seated now after standing by the door like idiots for 5 minutes. Our waitress was less than enthusiastic, which was pretty much the whole vibe of the restaurant. Nobody seemed happy to be there. On to the food ; I got Cesar salad... Something was funky with the croutons. Stale or something. They tasted weird. My penne vodka was hot AF and I couldn't enjoy it right away. I remember going there and the penne vodka was out of this world. It was pretty mediocre. We will not be going back.... Which is really disappointing. Great service and friendly faces, however the food was not up to par as it usually is. Meatballs were dry and grizzly. Penne Bolognese was dry as if they microwaved the pasta before serving. I've been going here for years and while I do think the food has slipped a bit in the last few years, it's still fine. On a recent visit, I had the pasta with clams mussels calamari and shrimp. The shrimp was a bit overdone but the rest was fine. There was lots of calamari in it and that was cooked perfect. There could have been more pasta on the plate in relation to the amount of sauce. My wife had the tuna special which was also fine. I think I prefer their pizza, however. Drinks are a bit on the expensive side. read more

Authentic, homemade, excellent enjoyable lunch and experience. I would disregard the negative reviews below because either they were bogus, or outdated, as businesses are always making improvements. I travel a lot and found this place today by accident. Great find. Ron's Landmark Restaurant is owner operated, and he works the front of the house, which also makes this old school Italian joint so special. His son is back of the house, master chef, who learned to cook from his Italian Mom, and as well, he is a top Culinary Institute graduate. I have one thing to say, well done Mom, Dad, and Son. The shrimp scampi over pasta was delicious. The garlic sauce was a nice consistency and flavor with bountiful and beautifully thinly sliced pieces of garlic. The extra-large shrimp were done perfectly, and lightly breaded on top, and they also serve a very nice portion of Italian Bread in the basket. Furthermore, the topper was the giant balsamic vinaigrette salad that comes with lunch, with cherry tomato, hint of garlic & herbs..... delicious, really. Luckily I live within about a 35 minute drive on US 80, so I look forward to investing in future drives to Ron's Landmark Restaurant in Budd Lake NJ. and trying other dishes, for example the Veal, Calamari, Pasta Fagioli, and desserts like Tiramisu. They also specialize in catering on and off premise. Prices are very reasonable, my lunch resembled a dinner portion, including salad and bread. Not withstanding the high-quality dishes and old school family run ambiance, for $8,95 I would say it was more than a bargain, so be sure to check it out for yourselves soon.
