Mr. Wade Capps was so pleasant and friendly. He was very detailed in his explanation of his work and how things might not match exactly but he would be more than willing to do it and it looks wonderful. He was on time his workmanship was impressive and he does everything with pride and left not trash behind. Wonderful Project Manager ask for Wade Capps. read more

I'm in the early stages of having various companies bid on my need for home turf, approximately 2,000 sq. feet. This review is just for the first step of the process, scheduling and having the turf consultation. I called System Pavers, one of five companies I'm having bid, and the scheduling aspect was a snap. The individual who set my meeting was thorough and sent an e-mail follow up the day before. I had my consultation late in the day as I need my wife and I both to hear all the details. Our design consultant was Karrie Nelsen, who was punctual and not concerned for time in the least. Best of all, she was a professional who knew her business inside and out. Being the first company to meet with us, my wife and I had plenty of questions, which Karrie was adept at answering. System Pavers has a nice variety of turf options, and Karrie did a great job of walking us through the process and our options. read more

I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone I know or don't know, up to and including my ex-wife. Key points: Contract signed April 2015 work started phase 1 - 7 Sep 2015 Completion certificate signed 20 Sep 2015 funding approval for phase 2 - 27 March 2016 work started phase 2 - 27 May 2015 Completion certificate signed 20 Sep 2015 Workscope = greater than $70k Discount for substandard work, employee & sub-contractor incompetence and extreme delay after delay less than 2%. I have posted several pictures to this Company's site and this review site, let them tell the story. In the end, the most of the pavers were pulled up to be reworked and turf was completely pulled up not once but 4 times!!!! Plus, over half of the turf had to be completely replaced. After all of the drama and the back and forth, a different crew was brought in to get to the final version it is now. Bottom line. This was the worst contractor experience I have ever had. Do your homework and book your job with anyone but System Pavers! read more

System Pavers was a great service! I wasn't expecting much as I signed up for a free consultation at the Del Mar fair in San Diego and they came to my home in Los Angeles, provided lots of options and information. We ended up paving in two sections in our backyard and the pavers look great. Karrie Nelsen was super helpful and knowledgeable about the pavers and was able to help design something that met out budget. One of the things we liked best with System Pavers is that they have been around for a long time and guarantee their work so if we decide to redo our driveway in the future we will be able to match our back patio exactly. Also the entire process took less than a week from estimate to completion with all the work taking place in only one day which was so convenient. I would definitely recommend them. read more

I shopped around before choosing Systems Pavers. I chose them because they were clear on their communications, willing to work around other projects I needed at the same time, and open and honest about the quality of their products, and skill sets of their crew. The Project Manager was very hands-on and made sure the quality of work was behinds satisfactory. They were timely, professional, and did not over promise. I highly recommend them and will use them again for future projects. -Dawn read more

I had a great experience with System Pavers from start to end. The sales person, Darrell Hutchison 510-695-5551, is friendly, knowledgeable and has a tremendous eye for style and color. The project manager Tony Rego is responsible, on top of things and let me know daily of what was the next step. I wrote an email to their The manager, Peter Smith, a couple days after the job started to let him know what a great crew he had! They were fast, friendly and when they were done for the day, left the place clean and accessible. With 3 kids, I could have not asked for more. My patio and my driveway looks gorgeous and I got compliments from my friends and neighbors. Very satisfied and happy customer. Will definitely hire them again to do our steps some day. read more

DON'T CONTACT THIS COMPANY. NO HEART AT ALL Got hold of them for our backyard they will lure you to get their service right away to avail of their discount. We signed an agreement and have to use our credit card to pay for the downpayment, the rep went through the agreement except the notice of cancellation. We were supposed to have another meeting to run financial plan. The guy David explained that if we don't get the financial plan they will return the money. Knowing in ourself that we won't be approve of the plan we requested to have the project cancel and not aware of the notice of cancellation. They just want your money how can a company don't return your down payment if they did not do any job!!!! We have to use our credit card and pay them and they don't want to return the money!!!!Shame on you!!!! I agree with the other comments that you are CROOKS!!! We had our entire backyard remodeled. It looks great!  Estela was the project manager on our home and I can't say enough good things about her and her team.  Ram the foreman and Estela paid close attention to detail and took care of all the changes I asked for without hesitation.  I can not say enough about the hard work the crew did on our back yard. We had 50 year tree roots running through under our old grass. They removed two truck loads of dirt and tree roots to make way for pavers and sod. They have an amazing crew!! Estela would come by to check the work and would fix the tiniest of imperfections.  George was our designer. He helped us visualize on paper what it would look like. Unfortunately we had many changes due to cost. So we cut back many items. There was a long delay in making the changes so we can go forward. We are very happy with the outcome and so glad we finally did it.  We would have liked to see actual product samples of the paving stone. The finish is not what we expected. We were shown catalog pictures, which do not show how it will look in your yard. We love the low wattage lighting, our new pergola with recessed lighting too. They give a warm ambiance. Now we can enjoy our own home resort. read more

We had a very positive experience with System Pavers. Jon Barlok was our design consultant and he worked very closely with my wife and I ensuring that we were completely happy with the plan to remove and replace our driveway before we got started. We had a few design changes along the way, which never fazed Jon at all. He made sure that our pricing was always updated, and we knew exactly what we were getting into after each design update. Once we agreed upon a project starting date, we met our project manager, John Hallen. John put together a fantastic crew that worked on our driveway. They made quick work of tearing out the old driveway and laying the foundation for the new one. Within a couple of days they were laying a beautiful driveway for us. John made sure that they kept to their word about finishing in the required amount of time, without sacrificing the quality of work that was demanded. He was always available to us, and he even helped out sealing the driveway upon completion! Thanks to both Jon Barlok, and John Hallen, they exceeded our expectations! By the way, we had this work done in late November of 2016. The sealed driveway suffered no damage at all to this winter's heavy rains. We highly recommend that you get your driveways and paved areas sealed! read more

Shady salesman. After meeting with Anthony in their beautiful showroom, my husband and I decided that the price was too high. We had some other things we needed to do to our house before we did landscaping. Anthony said we could leave a deposit to hold the price. He even contacted his boss to get a cash discount as we did not want to finance but pay cash when the time was right. He assured us that with a deposit we could hold that price for up to a year and if we didn't end up doing it, we could have our deposit back. After getting quotes for the balcony and some other work that needed to be done first, my husband and I decided that although beautiful, the pavers and plans did not fit in the budget. My husband contacted Anthony to let him know and he then stated that there was a 30 day window to have the deposit returned. We never agreed to that and it does not say that anywhere in the contract. We are currently in the process of filing complaints. Update: After filing complaints and sending a letter to System Pavers, we were contacted by the Vice President of the company. She started the conversation telling us they were refunding our deposit. She was professional and listened to our frustration. We received our check less than a week later. read more

We called system pavers after hearing their ads. They responded quickly, sending out a deigner the next day. Jeff was really knowledgeable, following our ideas and guided us to develop an awesome design we love. Construction was uneventful, which we liked, no drama, just work, and a smooth process. I would recommend them. They were not the cheapest bid, but they were not the most expensive either. However, the level of service, and the 25yr warranty, made the decision much more reassuring we made the best choice for us, we are really pleased. read more

Warranty service is very misleading with System Pavers I was told pavers are as strong if not stronger then a concrete driveway. I parked a 2 ton stake bed truck and loaded it with refuse The driveway sunk 2 to 3 inches I called for warranty service and was told that it wasn't covered. 3200 dollars to repair. I don't recommend anyone to put in driveway pavers they seem to sink. Concrete driveways don't sink like that I spent over 30k just to be told 3300 more to fix a problem that should not of happened 4 months of waiting for a response brought more headaches The second guy came and told me a catastrophic ground failure. There fault The supervisor came and told me not to email office and he would take care of the problem I'm still waiting on a response read more

Ok..Ok...I know... 5 to 1 to 5. I will say Yelp can do a lot for a business. After my post about how System Pavers deposited instead of returning my check, they contacted me via email to try to "correct" this big big big mistake. Within 48 hours, they issued a refund. Now, I had already contacted a local hardscape contractor to get the job down by this time. I was a little skeptical about his ability to perform. I should go back to say our salesperson at System Pavers was never at fault for the actual mistake of cashing the check. He did indicate to return the check. And, I did remain in contact with him through this ordeal. Which leads me back to the 5 stars. Here's the real deal. I'm pretty picky. I've flipped houses, did the work myself, subbed work out, etc. I was just too tired to get in over my head on yet another project. James Whitcomb (aka Jimmy) really put himself out there and we trusted him. That was the one and only reason why we stayed with System Pavers. In the end, we have this amazing walkway. Level, even, stylish, and exactly what I asked for. Actually more than what I asked for. There are so many detailed cuts, it is amazing. The workers were here when they said they would be. Eric the project manager remained professional and on top of everything. James (aka Jimmy) our Salesperson, stayed informed even though I told him I would trash them on Yelp again if they screwed up, they didn't. We are so happy that we gave them a second chance. Everyone makes mistakes. EVERYONE! Its the fine art of trying to redeem you as a customer that made us stay with them. That's something you don't always get in our screwed up world. I even named our spider that continues to spin his web across our new walkway "Jimmy". I was afraid the workers were going to kill the nasty thing but they left him alone. So, we've named him and decided not to have the exterminator wipe him out. read more

I write this review, all of which constitutes my personal opinion with hope it may help someone from having an experience like I had recently with System Pavers in Santa Ana, CA. In February (pre Pandemic). I had an individual who is a design consultant for System Pavers give me an estimate for a driveway. I unfortunately let him convince me to have them do the work. I explained that I wouldn't be able to have the work done until August and I would call him early August to start the work. He seemed to understand that and was very insistent on my giving them a deposit. This was my BIG mistake. I gave him a $1000 deposit with a balance of $6800 after completion of the project. Under NO circumstances give them a deposit!! Over the next month and a half I received numerous calls from more than one person in the office that became more like harassment than anything. I finally started blocking all their calls. After that the design consultant called me and said he would tell them to stop calling. I definitely felt they were enjoying messing with me. Boredom during the pandemic or just jerks, I don't know for sure. Probably both. Extremely unprofessional and annoying. If this hadn't happened I think things would have worked out differently. This was 4 months before I told the design consultant I would contact him. His initials are JB, I'll just call him BS for now. So at last I wasn't being harassed. Early in August I called BS and told him I was ready to go, don't remember if I spoke to him or left a message. He sent someone involved it the installation over about a week later, with no notice of the visit. Finally I met the first person in this entire experience that was professional. Told him I had thought of the colors BS suggested and wanted to check some other options before we start. He then said he would have BS call me. After nearly a week I hadn't heard from BS so I called him and got his voicemail. I left a message and never heard from him. A few days later I got a call from the person in charge of the installation saying they were ready in 2 days to start. . He was surprised that I hadn't heard from BS yet. I told him I needed to speak to him before any installation took place. Finally BS did call and at this point I lost my temper. Later I was called by his boss and I told him I have had it with this and I wanted nothing to do with System Pavers he ask for a 2nd chance. I ask for my deposit back and he refused, saying his boss wouldn't let him (an unnamed mythical character? , I don't know). It was at that point I knew I was through with them. Don't you just love bullies? There are many paving stone installers, please don't do what I did and hire System Pavers. I feel you can do better and find a business, in my opinion, that isn't as ethically challenged as System Pavers turned out to be. At least for me. Sincerely Charles D PS In response to Trinity M of System Pavers: This is apparently my only way to respond to Trinity M. I was not even given a copy of the contract to review until after I ask for my deposit back, that was in September 2020. I should have been advised of this 3 day cancelation in February. I was unaware and not informed, by the person I refer to as BS, that there was a 3 day limit to cancel the contract. I now know that is the State of California law. I would not have given them a deposit had I been informed of this. This review is my personal opinion and personal experience with System Pavers. I believe that a response from Trinity M is posted just below this review. I would like to thank Trinity M for illustrating so well the experience, and reason for my personal opinion of the ethics involved with System Pavers. Well I guess the comment was removed! PSS, again in response to Trinity M: Well here we go again! Trinity M piles on again, maybe I should refer to her as BS#2. First of all I wasn't given documentation until September 3rd after I ask for my deposit back. Scroll down through the other revues and you will find several more revues to beware of the sales people. I think the installation crew might do their job very well. However apparently others have shared similar experience as mine. Based on my opinion and my experience, I urge you to be very wary of dealing with System Pavers sales staff. to quote a couple other reviews "Crooks, Crooks Crooks" posted by Anne B and "Beware" by George B and "HORRIBLE SALES TACTIC, BAIT AND SWITCH MUCH?" by Jane C. System Pavers - Awesome job System Pavers!!! Thank you Scot B., Carlos, and the rest of the team!!! - Masonry/Concrete Near Me - Orange, California

My house is new and in a new housing development, so you can guess I had a lot of knocks on door and door hangers from a variety of landscape companies as well as ability to see the work on some of the neighbors yards. I was dreading this process as I had a terrible experience with contractors in the house I sold. For this house, I did get a design and quote from a contractor that I thought I would use. But, after I asked for some changes to the design and a quote for that, she never ever came back. So! While waiting for her quote, a System Pavers representative came to the door and I agreed to an appointment. Randy, the sales person was so informative and helpful, much better than my past experiences. He came up with a design that I just loved. John Hallen was my project manager. I was amazed at how frequently he was here on site checking on the work in progress. My past experience was with the crew taking photos and sending to the manager. John hand picked his crew and with his frequent on site visits kept the work moving. As for scheduling, the project was to take two weeks, but the rain delayed completion. John kept me informed of when his crew would work and they always showed up on time. The crew actually worked the entire time they were here. Just lunch breaks, but I never saw any of them sitting around looking at there cell phones, just always working. The end result is beautiful, I just love it. read more

Not sure what's with all the negative comments here. I had a great experience with System Pavers, especially once it got to the contractor. The bid process was up front. I added things on the back end that increased the cost, but that was on me, not System Pavers. If you decide to go with them, ask for Ryan as the project manager and his crew (Miguel). Seriously, their attention to detail, planning and design capability turned our driveway, front porch, side walkway and back patio into something special. And it was done quickly. We were also adding on to the back of the house and Ryan worked with our General Contractor (GC) to make sure that the landing off the back door fit in with the schedule of our contractor and got done prior to city inspectors coming to check on the addition. Grading was well done too. Even our GC said the work done was impeccable. The only small drawback is if you do go with the zero down financing solution. You go through a company called EnerBank that made the payment process a little tougher than it had to be, especially if you decide to add something after the fact. I wish System Pavers carried its own financing, but totally get it. That does not detract from the fine workmanship and the warranty behind the product and service. We are about a month out and have zero complaints. Extremely happy with System Pavers. I would give it a 4 1/2 out of five. read more

I did the basic design which included working around an existing brick area and the removal of about 800 sf of old concrete. They removed the concrete on the first day and left the job site clean. The next day they arrived and moved in lots of sand for the pavers installation. That day the left the job site ready for the following days installation to start.. 5 days later, they had installed 800 sf of pavers, a paver planter box, and a paver curb around the entire surface. In addition. The next day they sealed the pavers and installed the lighting. A day or so later they installed my patio cover 16' x 13' along with built in lights and stereo speakers . . . . Amazing.
