He promised it would only take 2 days to complete, which it did and his workers left everything neat and tidy. We were very fortunate to have had Dale and his crew from Saddleback Pavers help us out with our outdoor remodel. They demolished the old broken concrete around our house, repaved all around our house, widened our driveway, created a back patio with a complete drainage system, installed artificial turf in our front lawn, and installed landscape lighting for us. All in less than 2 weeks. We initially decided to go with Saddleback Pavers mostly because of Dale. Out of everyone we reached out for a quote he was by far the most professional, personable and thorough. From the moment he met us for the consult to days after the work was completed, he was and still is always available to answer our dumb questions whether bouncing design and aesthetic ideas around or dealing with our city's permit department. We had to accelerate our remodel plans due to a significant slab leak right before the holidays and we can honestly say that working with him made a pretty stressful situation very, very easy. Value wise, we can't believe the amount of work we received for the price we paid. Initially we even questioned Dale's estimates since it was lower that a lot of other notable pavers in our area, he assured us it was correct and was very upfront and honest on all costs throughout the project. This is my first time posting a review on Yelp, but I wanted to express my extreme satisfaction for the paver job that Dale at Saddleback Pavers provided! THE JOB We had pavers installed where we had an existing concrete patio, and also had pavers installed where there was existing grass. The existing concrete patio had a patio cover over it, so the workers had to carefully cut the existing concrete close to the posts, so that the pavers could butt up closely to the patio cover posts. As for the prior grass areas, the intent was to repurpose that area for a small basketball court. In total, this amounted to about 900 square feet of pavers to be installed. Dale also agreed to have his workers come back and perform some finishing touches around the basketball hoop I was installing, which was much appreciated, as the pavers were to be laid to butt up against the hoop's footing. Lastly, we had Dale apply a satin finish sealer to help maintain the pavers. The pavers used for this project were Angelus Courtyard in Dark Gray/Copper/Charcoal. THE TIME The job was quoted initially for about 5 days, which seemed reasonable for the demolition, haul-away, leveling, installation, and clean-up. As we got closer to the installation date, Dale and his crew felt they could comfortably get it done in 4 days. Once they started the job, they worked so efficiently, they got the entire job done in just 3 days! I was impressed at how dedicated the crew worked--they punctually showed up on time, they worked efficiently, and used every ounce of daylight to get as much done as possible. Obviously, we don't want to sacrifice quality just to meet a schedule, and in this case, the workers provided exceptional quality work while also beating schedule. I couldn't have been more impressed! Even the hoop contractor was shocked at how quickly the job was done, and was impressed with the quality of work! THE SERVICE Even beyond the exceptional work that was performed, was the remarkable service. The owner (Dale) was always reachable by call or text, often replying within 5 minutes. He also was flexible on timing whenever we needed to discuss anything. With any home improvement job, you expect that not everything will go perfectly. With that expectation, it really comes down to how the contractor will respond. I am happy to report that not only did we have no major issues, but even the minor issues were dealt with promptly and satisfactorily.
