First of all, I love the style and the color I chose from the options Saddleback had (5 paver sizes, Orco Villa Express "Manor" color). The patio is no longer an eye soar and it looks bigger than before. Check out my before and after photos. I obtained 8 quotes from companies willing to work on a 14 x 24 foot patio walled in on all sides. Prices were all over the place, but eventually I narrowed it down to family-owned businesses priced in the middle that specialized in paver work as opposed to concrete slabs. Saddleback gave me an estimate based on photos I emailed and the square footage, then came by to see the patio and discuss the best way to fix a drainage problem and include a ramp. The drainage problem came with the house, a product of the low quality DIY paver job by a previous owner causing water to flow under a door into the garage during a hard rain. Plus the prior owner had the A/C condenser put on a slab half on the cheap pavers and half sinking into the dirt. For years I saved up to renovate the patio as I kept sandbags in the garage to channel the water out at the garage door so that it would not ruin wooden shelving and appliances. When the ancient A/C finally broke down for good, it was time to fix the patio and replace the A/C condenser. I also needed a ramp from the garage onto the patio instead of steps to accommodate a walker or wheelchair. I went with Saddleback because the owner, Dale, met with me, listened to my concerns and needs, and quoted a fair price. Dale explained how the pavers would angle toward new drains and how the incline with the pavers could be built so that a walker could easily wheel up onto the patio from the garage. We agreed on the price with Ten percent down and the balance paid upon completion. Dale worked with me on the schedule so that I could time it with the old A/C removal and new A/C install. The materials showed up the day before and the workers and Dale showed up on time the next day. The crew was professional. The work was completed day 1; the debris cleanup and the sealer sprayed on day 2. The only thing I would had done differently is ask to meet the job manager during negotiations to hear from him what is possible and what is not. I didn't meet him until the day the work began and he said an incline for the walker/wheelchair was not possible and that a channel drain I wanted in front of the door to the garage (an added measure to ensure no rain water would ever get into the garage) could not be installed. I wound up hiring a handyman who built a wooden wheelchair ramp inside the garage and shortened the door onto the patio so that it would close over the ramp. To Dale's credit, he reimbursed me for the ramp work which is my reason for giving 5 stars. read more

These guys get a five star review because of what a great job the did replacing the old concrete and brick floor we had in our back patio. The first morning they were there, the broker apart and removed all the old concrete and stone that was laid out. By the middle of the next day they had finished putting down all the pavers. I was shocked by how quickly and cleanly they got through the job. All the debris and leftover material was gone when they were done and they came back a couple days later to add the seal to the new stones.
