I did research before calling Darrell - and when I noticed that EVERY SINGLE REVIEW was a 5 star - I told my boyfriend, we have to check him out. Well, Darrell lived up to his Yelp reputation and more. He came on time for when we asked for an estimate. He did ask for more than the other two guys we called - but Darrell clearly knew what he was talking about. He asked questions and made suggestions that neither of the other two do did. Then the work day came - he and crew came early - and they worked full speed all day long. They finished ahead of schedule and did an amazing job. Extremely professional, left the premises spotless and we couldn't be more happy with how the yard looks! I 100% recommend him and his crew! read more

We reached out to Left Coast Pavers because of the stellar reviews and we couldn't be happier. We had installed pavers in our back yard about 5 years ago. A section of the pavers were lifting due to root intrusions from large trees behind our property. Daryl and his team showed up on time, accessed and addressed the issue. We had the roots removed, pavers replaced, the whole area power washed, sealed and looking spanking new in a matter of days. We highly recommend Left Coast Pavers for a job well done and plan on using them in the future! read more

I am a very happy customer. I had an old brick patio behind my house in Laguna Beach. Originally, I thought it added to the charm of the old house, but after a few winters, I realized that I had pooling and drainage issues that allowed water to sit against my house. I contacted Left Coast Pavers, based on great reviews and plenty of impressive gallery photos. I met with Darrell, and he quickly impressed me in a number ways. First, he understood the problem and came up with very sensible solutions. (Clearly demonstrated his experience). Secondly, he didn't try to over-sell me as many contractors do. He provided a clear path to solve the problem, improve my back yard, and then 'draw the line' where it should be drawn. He's a great communicator and made sure that everything about the project was managed tightly. The process was painless. His team is AMAZING. Communication was great. They showed up exactly when we scheduled, and finished the job exactly on time. No uncomfortable surprises. They cleaned up everything and left me with pure delight. The end result is really the most important point. I have a great feeling of pride in my back patio now. It looks incredible and it makes the whole home feel much more put together. My greatest surprise is that I didn't realize much better a new paver patio would make me feel about my home - even when looking OUT at it from within our house. I recommend Left Coast Pavers 100%. You will not be disappointed. Darrell won't let that happen. -Dan B read more

Darrell and his crew are professionals. I was concerned about finding the right contractor and took my time to interview and obtain 3 bids. The price was right and if you check out their website, they create really cool designs. They stayed on the project with a bunch of guys straight through until it was complete! No punch list. Done. The crew worked with me throughout the process to dial in the design along the way. They even adjusted our gates to work better than they found them. Love the design. Our house went from neighborhood zero to hero thanks to Left Coast Pavers. Highly recommended. read more

My wife and I put a call out to several paver contractors, and, truth be told, before we knew the costs or had even finished our walkthrough, we pretty much had made up our minds that we wanted to work with Darrell Silverthorn (owner of Left Coast Pavers & Concrete). Not only was he very pleasantly laid-back, but he had creative ideas--ideas about things we hadn't thought about. Immediately, we had confidence that this guy knew what he was doing, and that he wasn't just trying to sell us something. And he gave us ballpark costing right on the spot. The job was to remove all the flagstones I had laid some sixteen years ago in our front and backyards, plus the concrete driveway. With his crew of twelve-fifteen men, skid steer, dump trucks, mounds of crushed concrete and sand, and dusty clouds from concrete cutting, we were in a whirlwind of activity that was up and running and finished in four days. Day five was for sealing the beautiful craftsmanship of his crew, which Darrell did himself. When all was said and done, his crew did a decent job of cleaning everything up, and we are very happy with the outcome. The end result is a work of art. Whether you decide to go with Left Coast or another outfit, it will behoove you to spend ample time preparing everything for that day when work begins. Don't expect the guys to read your mind. If you know something might get damaged or is simply in the way, move it to safety. That's what we did; so many things his crew didn't have to deal with. Before we contracted with Darrell, we went to visit some of his completed jobs in our area. Everything looked great, but one woman said that she was so happy with Darrell and his work that she wanted to adopt him. How's that for a job well done? I can't predict how things will go for you, but if they go anything like they did for us, you'll be very happy and the quality of your life and property will be greatly improved. We "highly" recommend Left Coast Pavers & Concrete. - David W. Betterton and Christine R. Ladewig, Long Beach, CA read more

Our entire semicircular driveway, walkway and courtyard entrance was replaced with tumbled Belgard pavers over a period of 2 1/2 days by Left Coast Concrete and Pavers. This was managed with a large competent crew. The owner, Darrell Silverthorn and an on site supervisor addressed all our concerns and also helped with choosing the best color combination available. Over all, the cost was less than some other bids, and we received more in return. This company is highly recommended and has earned its accolades and high marks on Yelp. read more

Very seldom do I write a review, and if I do, very seldom do I give a 5-star review. In this case, I'm doing both. Left Coast Pavers recently completed our backyard patio. It was a challenging project due to all the angles and curves we incorporated into our patio design. My wife and I were somewhat apprehensive it would turn out the way we envisioned. Well, I have to say, it actually turned out better than we envisioned. Darrell's and his crew did a superb job and I'm happy to give Left Coast Pavers a well-earned 5-Star review. read more

I have just had the extreme pleasure of working with Darrell and Team on a fairly difficult job of tearing out an old courtyard and installing pavers which included adding pavers on the driveway. I very, very rarely write yelp reviews (good or bad), but the work done by Left Coast Pavers on our house was truly worthy of a 5 star review. Darrell and his crew did impeccable work. I cannot recommend them highly enough! Darrell is extremely knowledgeable and had good suggestions for keeping my costs under control. He shared helpful ideas and helped me problem solve for details where I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted. He was extremely patient when delays came up that were not of his making. The scope of work for this project included 40 linear feet of 6 foot high concrete block wall, and another 30 linear feet of smaller concrete block walls topped with wall caps for planting beds. Finally they installed approximately 1500 sq feet of pavers for our walkway, two patio areas, and a pool deck. Oh! And they added some beautiful Deco tiles on the risers of our stairs to match the waterline tile in our pool. Darrell was extremely communicative. He was always available by phone if I had questions. He always let me know when his guys would be showing up and how long the job would take. He always showed up with a small army of craftsmen who were ready to knock the job out. They worked long hours to get the work completed. His crew were friendly and kind, and always left the job cleaner than they found it. Finally, Darrell took extra time to walk me through the process of how to care for, maintain and re-seal my pavers and how to know when they will need it (not for a couple years). Most importantly the job looks great and my wife is elated! It's been a pleasure working with Darrell and his crew. His honesty and integrity was a breath of fresh air during our large backyard renovation. I would recommend him without hesitation. In fact, I'm gonna try and bring him back to do our turf! read more

The workers were all super nice, attentive, and cleaned up everything at the end of the job. The price was very fair - and a better price than some well-known companies that gave me estimates. I was very impressed with Left Coast. They communicated very well in setting up the appointment for an estimate. They had an earlier time available so we met earlier than the appointment. They walked me through the process of what the job would entail and their minimums. My job was small so they were kind enough to let me know we weren't a good match for the money I would need to spend. I came away from the estimate with more knowledge and a plan to accomplish my goal. They were honest with me even though it meant they wouldn't get the job and I am very grateful!
