Phillip and his company installed turf in my backyard in 2021. They did a great job and I gave them 5 stars. Due to the heavy winter rains, the ground settled and a few low spots emerged. I messaged Phillip to see what could be done to repair the situation. He immediately got back to me and informed me that they would fix any issues. He was extremely busy with tons of customers but eventually got my job serviced and fixed. I could not be happier. His workers came and repaired everything within an hour. They lifted up the turf, add more base, compacted, replaced some nails and were finished before I even realized it. I had a representative from Cal Green come to my house a week ago to get a quote on a project. Throughout the meeting, the employee kept shooting down my vision for the space, like preferring pavers rather than concrete. He also showed me a layout completely different from what I showed him. He said he would get my a quote in two days It's been a full week and I've received nothing. Every other company that we got quotes from told me that concrete was absolutely inappropriate for my project and the all companies were able to give me a quote on the spot. We went with this company because it's a smaller business and the warranty by far was much better than others. We have 2 young toddlers and so far they have been running on it and haven't complained about it being hot. Phil updated up with delays which I can appreciate. He also went above and beyond and helped me out with the other side of the yard which he didn't have to do at all. I found Phillip's company Cal-Green Turf through Yelp search. I setup an appointment with him for an estimate and explained to him the dilemma I was facing. Though I have always been in favor of natural grass, I faced a new challenge when my wife brought home a stray 10wk old pup. We were a household with 3 small fur babies which never presented a challenge for us in upkeep of the yard. Now faced with our newest fur "giant" we now had something new to deal with. Our new pup is a pee machine and also full of energy hence our predicament. In no time at all our Doberman managed to kill off a large section of our back lawn from both pee and nonstop activity running from end to end of the yard. Trust me, he gets plenty of exercise outside of our home going on pack walks twice a week as well as chasing balls and mental training. This only exhausts a fraction of his energy. So needless to say between the pee, activity, and daily sprinklers the yard became quite muddy, which in turn would get tracked back into the home. After Phillip was told of these challenges, he suggested a very durable turf with animals in mind as a solution. He explained to me in detail everything that would be done converting the existing lawn into a turf backyard. He answered all questions I had including concerns about dealing with odors and what would be done with the existing sprinkler heads. I was sold and we setup a date to get this done.
