We have 2 small dogs, had some yellow spots from them & are grass had been taken over by crab grass for the Third time after replacing it every couple years the last few years, I was done. So I called a couple companies wanting to get microban technology & turf that would be good for the dogs, drain well & look good. It took me a long time to bring myself to install artificial surface in my backyard. I was very anxious about this all the way through the installation. I explained to David on my first visit to the showroom, I wanted something that looked so much like real grass that my guests would have to lay on it to tell it was artificial. We installed "Troon" which is the longest cut Smart Turf carries, and I must say, that it looks real. The color is rich and the texture is thick. I think the thing I like most about it is how clean it is. The service was great from my first visit to the sales call through the installation. We changed our mind on the original coverage and the Jake made a second trip out immediately to remeasure. We changed the installation date and the new date was graciously accommodated. The installation went smoothly and it was interesting to watch the precision in which the turf was "manicured" around our stone steps. Great Company to work with! Tried to get other estimates and mostly dealt with others that didn't show up, call back or had substandard products. I did receive a couple of quotes prior to receiving one from Smart Turf but they didn't compare with Smart Turf. I was very fortunate to get a call from Travis from Smart Turf. He returned every call, showed up right on time and provided us with a prompt quote. He measured, answered all of our questions and was very professional and pleasant. He showed us samples of the highest quality and gave us a great price. He was very communicative throughout the process from beginning to end. Everyone I spoke to within the Company was very friendly, helpful and professional. The installers were awesome! Showed up at 7AM and were completely done by 1 PM (500 sq. ft). They removed the old ugly grass and 3-4 inches of soil, replaced it with the crushed gravel and installed the new beautiful Pacific Dunes turf. They were very meticulous with the cuts, seams and setting in the edges. They thoroughly cleaned up everything and left the street and yard as it was. We love our turf!!! We had our backyard done just recently because our grass was dead, and our dog did not like playing in the yard because of the dry dead grass. After watching tons of YouTube videos on DIY turf installation I decided without a doubt I was going to choose Smart Turf as my turf. Based on other DIY'ers reviews on the quality and the microban aspects of Smart Turf I logged onto my computer once again to order Smart Turf and realized they were located 5 miles from my house....SCORE! The guys at Smart Turf went above and beyond to help me out...gave me some tips, a short tutorial on joining seams and sent me on my way. I purchased "Pine Valley" for my small project and am super happy with the way it turned out. I finished the install yesterday and have already had a handful of neighbors stop by and compliment the look of the smart turf, ask questions, etc. Still more work to do with pavers and plants but the turf looks great! This review is not about their work or quality of grass but about their business. I called them to set up an appointment and had to call multiple times. Messages were left and after five days received a callback. He said he will give contact information to his regional salesperson "Rosevelt" and the guy will call me next day. Eight days have gone by and no calls. If this business is unreliable in contacting potential customers, one can only imagine what will happen after they have taken our money and their is a problem later on. Couldn't be happier with how our turf and putting green turned out. I live in Pasadena and we completely did our entire front yard with new hard and soft cape. Decided on turf because grass is so much work and always having issues with sprinklers and also wanted to save on water. Craig had good and practical ideas, was able to adjust the quote after I decided I needed some concrete demo'd and helped me get it done under my budgeted amount! We contacted Smart Turf on December 17th to come out for an estimate. David was very knowledgeable about the product and what we needed for a large area in our front yard. We were interested in replacing the old turf in our yard with something pet friendly and expanding the turf area. I requested a quote with Smart Turf via Yelp and was connected with Travis who came to our house for a free estimate. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions.
