They extended our block wall 15 feet, removed a concrete stone firepit and planter wall, added concrete in the corner of the yard, and built a BBQ seating bar. Bidding went easy and they were priced very competitively. I live in a HOA residential community. I was rquired to repair a retaining wall on my property. I found Mendoza Masonry. Contacted Ulisses who came out and gave a reasonable quote for the job. The wall had large cracks and a visible opening. A real eye sore. Within five days Ulisses came out to do the work. After completing the job I couldn't even tell the wall was ever in disrepair. The HOA was also satisfied. Mendoza Masonry is a small family business. Ulisses took over the company from his father. I usually don't recommend businesses, but Mendoza Masonry was exceptional. Their bid was very detailed and a great price. They were very knowledgeable about the drainage and what pavers to use. The owner worked with his crew and they very careful about putting tarps down on our artificial turf. Ulisses replaced our aging and dilapidated wooden fence with a block wall. He worked with both me and the next door neighbor by splitting the invoice and contacting the neighbor separately for their half of the payment. A few weeks up to the job start date, he communicated often and was very professional. In fact the crew was also very professional, and the entire experience was perfect. The wall also came out great. They dug a deep trench, laid rebar and poured the foundation and then built the wall on top of it. Ulisses said it would take 3 days but it actually took only 2. Ulisses Mendoza did a fantastic job repairing a front planter bin where one side had completely separated due to a large tree root. He removed that wall section and preserved the original used red brick on top. He properly rebuild that section using rebar this time and proper footing. Then he made many small repairs in my brick walkway and some walls, by replacing several cracked bricks and fill in cracks. He built backwalls in my brick planter bins against the house that were original done without it such that it now complies with building code and protects the house siding from dirt and water. I can highly recommend him to my neighbors in Portola Hills and Lake Forest. He is easy to work with and his quality of work is outstanding! His prices are in line with industry practices. We hired Mendoza Masonry to apply waterproofing to the back wall of a planter which runs along the side of our house. They also installed a French drain in the planter and raised the existing sprinklers to the correct height. Ulysses and his crew did a wonderful job from start to finish. They carefully dug out the existing plants so that we can replant them. They showed us each stage of progress along the way so that we could verify it was done the way we wanted. They thoroughly cleaned up when they were done, even wiping the dirt off the bricks. And they brought their own port-a-pot so they wouldn't have to use our bathroom!
