I was not referred to Munoz construction. I found them on yelp and liked the reviews that they recieved. Yobany is the primary point of contact and is extremely professional. He lives up to the positive comments stated about him. I believe he charges a fair value for his work and his team is actually quite large. My project request included the following: -- Front yard update: removing existing grass and cement bar, adding new astroturf, 6x6 cement slab, adding Decomposed Granite garden and 50 Gallon preformed pond. -- My Backyard request was to remove 1 pergola, and dividing wall, new astroturf, Decomposed Granite side and back wall with plant decor, new valves and sprinkler system. Lastly it included adding in an outdoor kitchen. It took less than 2 weeks start to finish M-Sa, and with 6-7 guys each day. They cleaned up after themselves each day and kept the haul away area to a specific area. They didn't play loud music. Just had an overall good work ethic. I recently hired Munoz Construction after closing escrow on one of my listings in Irvine, where the backyard was in very poor condition. My client had a limited budget, so I needed someone who could deliver quality work at a fair price. After reading Munoz Construction's excellent Yelp reviews, I called and Yobany Munoz showed up the very next day to provide an estimate for installing drains and stamped concrete in the backyard. From start to finish, Yobany and his crew were professional, efficient, and detail-oriented. The stamped concrete turned out beautifully. We were so pleased with the results that we added more work to the project, including building a new block wall on the side yard, installing additional drains (which he did at no extra cost), and laying new turf. Yobany manages a large, hardworking crew who are punctual, respectful, and take pride in their work. He maintains a positive, friendly relationship with both his team and his clients, creating a smooth and enjoyable experience throughout the project. What impressed me most was that he consistently went above and beyond expectations--often adding small upgrades or extras without charging for every detail--simply to make sure the customer was happy. He is also an excellent communicator--always explaining each step of the process clearly and providing regular updates with photos and videos. Most importantly, he completes his projects ahead of schedule without compromising on quality. Although our backyard project isn't fully completed yet, I wanted to share a few photos of the progress so far. I also referred Yobany to another client whose home we're preparing to list, and once again, he delivered outstanding work. The front porch at that property had cracks and uneven concrete; Yobany applied a thin overlay to level and redesign the surface, and the result looks fantastic (photo attached). This was just the type of work that I needed done and had been putting off. My friends couldn't say enough about the crew. So I called them and they came out the same day for an estimate that was very fair. they started work that week. We had to wait a day because of the rain and my backyard looks beautiful. I had some huge roots from a 50 year-old Jacaranda tree and they worked really hard to remove these roots. They removed the cement slabs and replaced with Flagstone and pea gravel to match the rest of my backyard. I had an excellent experience with Yobany and his hard-working crew. This was a very large project that had been put off for years. I showed him ALL my concerns and he offered options on how to get them fixed. I felt his pricing was fair and was very close to the other bid I got. Yobany and Munoz Construction replaced our driveway, garage floor, walk-up steps, two side yard patios, and two-level backyard patio. He set up drainage, water proofed a wall, reset a couple of posts, and added lighting to the walkup stairs. There were 4 cement trucks when all was said and done. Yobany and his crew of 6-7 worked Monday through the following Wednesday only taking Sunday off (8 full days). I always have a fear of demo getting done and then getting ghosted for a month. Not here! They were a happy group that all got along, with a little music going in the afternoon and occasional laughter. Hired Munoz Construction to do some external painting. Our house wasn't in good shape and needed a lot of prep work. Chipping, peeling paint, damaged stucco, dry rot and termite damage. Yobany and his crew came in and patched the stucco, replaced fascia boards, prepped and primered the whole house before painting. They did a great job all for a reasonable price and had it done in a little over a week. They have also done some concrete work for us that came out beautiful. Everyone knows looking for a contractor is so stressful. It's hard to find someone with good communication skills, reliable, affordable, and does good work. Ive been wanting to remodel the front of my mom's home for awhile and I reached out to so many people. Contractors either didn't respond back or told me material was "hard to find" because of the pandemic. I mean I was willing to provide material if needed, so I kind of just gave up for awhile. I remember my friend remodeled her home and owns businesses, so I decided to reach out. She gave me Yobany's info so I contacted Yobany at Munoz Construction and was impressed right away! I texted him and the next day he came to give me an estimate and was able to give me the total cost/estimate the SAME DAY! He calculated everything the same day! Amazing! You can text or call him! He's great at responding. Remember folks, the type of work he does he can't be on the phone 24/7 so be patient if he doesn't respond. He's probably being safe at work and concentrating. So just leave a text or VM and he'll respond. Price: very reasonable. I'm so shocked he quoted me the same day. I was able to plan ahead and took some days off just to be home so I can order lunch and pick up some material. Yobany's pricing was JUST about the same as my budget so I was so happy! The work: wow!!! Yobany and his team are soooo good! From stamped concrete to stone work, JUST WOW! I am truly amazed at their work. Very clean and meticulous work. Yobany estimated the work to be done in two weeks and he finished before then!!! They work so efficiently and come on time. When he said he'd be there at 8am, they were either early or on time. I hired Munoz Construction to build a planter wall with precast concrete. Yobany promptly came out to quote this project and that evening, I had his quote. He was able to start the project quickly (a big plus). His team showed up every day prepared as scheduled and on-time, being very respectful of my existing hardscape and plants. The planter was built to the plans and his team applied a smooth stucco coat to the outside surface of the planter and waterproofed the interior wall, then finally filled the new planter with sandy loom. After completing an interior remodel of our home, we needed to update the exterior cracking and fading old plain concrete driveway, walkways and patio with something new. In addition, I took the opportunity to replace my entire sprinkler system in the back and to add drainage to both sides of my house since water would come up very close to entering my house during heavy rains due to old concrete being poured too high. I met with a number of concrete contractors but decided to go with Yobany based on his experience and his yelp reviews. Turned out to be a great decision. Throughout the process, Yobany was involved in each step, was there during most days of construction and intimately involved in doing the work alongside his workers. On days that required it, he even had about 10 workers at my house to ensure the pouring and stamping process went smoothly. My project was somewhat challenging due to original improper grading all around. Yobany figured out the best way to grade the land to achieve the proper slope for both surface and subsurface water drainage. He used good quality base materials as part of the foundation for the concrete. He didn't skimp on rebar, color additives or on other items. At each integral step, he stopped to provide me with my options and to offer advice as needed to help me make better choices. He definitely knows his work and you can feel comfortable having him and his crew working at your home even while you're not around. Unlike many other contractors I have worked with who disappear immediately after payment, Yobany returned several times after the job finished to keep the concrete wet in order to aid in the curing process. On one of those visits, at no cost to me, he fixed a portion of a brick flower bed that I didn't even ask for because it just looked better.
