Roman Concrete did an exceptional job replacing and extending our driveway. We truly appreciated the owner, Raul, for his professionalism and patience. He took the time to explain every detail, visited our home twice, and remained flexible when we decided to adjust the extension area. The crew was efficient, friendly, and equipped with impressive machinery. We were particularly struck by the value offered; Roman Concrete was the only company to provide 3500 PSI concrete while maintaining a very competitive price. Their attention to detail was outstanding--from the thorough cleanup to the fact that two team members stayed for four hours just to ensure the concrete dried undisturbed. My husband and I highly recommend Roman Concrete. The final result is beautiful, and we look forward to working with them again in the future. read more

DO NOT HIRE ROMAN CONCRETE / RAUL Extremely disappointing experience with a large residential decorative/sandwash concrete project. The finished concrete has major inconsistencies in appearance. Within a relatively short time after installation, the concrete also developed a gritty/friable surface, ongoing shedding of sand and small particles, and areas where aggregate appears to be loosening. I have now had to obtain the ready-mix batch tickets, consult concrete professionals, and arrange an independent petrographic examination to determine why new concrete is deteriorating. After reviewing the batch tickets, I also discovered that the concrete mix used did not follow Top-Cast's published mix-design guidance for this type of finish. To make matters worse, Roman also sent a preliminary lien notice involving my neighbor's property, which created an entirely separate issue that never should have involved my neighbor. I spent a significant amount of money on this project and should not be dealing with uneven workmanship, deteriorating concrete, forensic testing, and lien-related problems afterward. I would absolutely not hire this company again. Steer clear. _________________________________________________________________________ Responding to Roman Concrete / Raul Comment 9/14/26 - Raul - The appearance issue was present at job completion. I wrote the review because you asked me to and that you acknowledged the issue and would replace the affected. It is now 3 months later and you still have not done so. The remaining issues were also brought up at this time. You said it is normal and give it a month. After a month the problem persisted. Then you said give it another month. Then you said give it a year. *See sand in joint picture in my review. This was widespread through all concrete and was taken 2.5 months after completion. - Raul - You have returned to the property and done nothing. The affected panel is not replaced and I didn't decline. THIS IS A LIE as you are worried about your business review. You stated the concrete may not match and I said it has to match. You said it may cause cracking and I said don't crack it. Sealing the concrete is a quick fix that I will not accept. I was forced to determine the causes as you would just say "I truly dont know what happened". It is no longer speculation and a legal case is building. The concrete testing professional to independently evaluate you mention was my idea. You stated it is too expensive to do. I had to offer to split the bill with you just get it done. - Raul - You used a mix that was a against Top-Casts "Placing and Finishing Guidelines". The Guidelines are there for a reason. Yes it states 60/40 fine to coarse aggregate. The mix you used was 71/29 fine to coarse aggregate which means the mix contains nearly 20% more sand then recommended in their guidelines. Additionally, their guidelines state a 3/4 coarse aggregate to use. You used 3/8" coarse aggregate. You really didn't follow any guidelines. I think following guidelines is important. Not sure what everyone else thinks. This is also important as now my problem is EXCESS SAND shedding off the surface 3 months later. You used an overly sand heavy mix that was outside their guidelines in both sand to aggregate ratio and aggregate size. It doesn't matter who you order your concrete from (i.e. Robertsons). It is not there problem. You could have ordered from anywhere and requested the correct mix design. The rebar installation was also not quality. I did not bring this up before but since you did I will. You had rebar with no dobies. Rebar without dobies is pointless. I requested dobies. Additionally, your team drove the heavy equipment right over the expansive side yard rebar and smashed it straight into the ground. It was never fixed. It is now pointless. I should have said something at the time but we were already having issues over roadbase compaction and concrete thickness so I got tired and let it go. Yes you are now paying for the concrete testing after you said you wouldnt and are now in a corner. My neighbors address is very different from mine. The prelim of my neighbors property was done on purpose. Robertsons was not paid for an extended period of time and the issue took forever to clear up. You have returned and done nothing. You have been trying your best to get out of it. read more

Ten stars on a five-scale. Raul is friendly and knowledgeable, his team is expert, and his prices are very reasonable. I had them remove some slabs, cut out some tree roots, replace the slabs with new ones at the proper angle, and cover up some open areas. Roman concrete was on time, hard-working and did an absolutely amazing job for me; I could not be more impressed. Having dealt with other contractors that leave you hanging, I really appreciate Raul's honesty, integrity, responsiveness and follow-through. Highly recommend ! read more

Roman Concrete did an excellent job laying concrete in my back patio, alongside my house and laying a path in my front yard. They also added curbs around some planter beds in my backyard. It was a pleasure working with Raul and his team at Roman Concrete. I wanted a planter removed and my driveway extended. Raul gave me an estimate based on the measurements I provided, but he also came out to confirm in person. When we met, he confirmed the estimate was accurate and assured me the project could be completed in just one day. I was initially skeptical since other contractors told me it would take several days. I asked Raul if finishing that quickly would compromise quality. He confidently explained that he handles many one-day jobs and even provided me with five addresses of completed projects to check out. After visiting them, I was impressed with the quality of his work and decided to hire him. Raul and his crew showed up on time and worked hard all day. Raul continually checked in with me throughout the process to answer questions and make sure I was comfortable with each step. His crew was professional, respectful of my property, and cleaned up thoroughly after the job was done. The finished driveway extension looks fantastic--smooth, level, and exactly what I wanted. The transition from the old concrete to the new is seamless. Raul's pricing was fair, especially given the speed and quality of the work. I felt I received excellent value for the money. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the results. Raul delivered on everything he promised: professionalism, timeliness, and top-notch quality. I would absolutely hire Roman Concrete again for future projects and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality concrete work. read more

From the very beginning, they were incredibly responsive--every message and question I had was answered quickly, clearly, and with a level of professionalism that immediately put me at ease. I had quite a few questions throughout the process, and they never made me feel rushed or like I was asking too much. They were also extremely punctual and reliable. Every time they set a date or time, they followed through exactly as promised, which made the entire project run smoothly. Another huge plus was how helpful they were with the HOA approval process. They provided all the documentation and details we needed without hesitation, saving us a lot of time and frustration. I couldn't be happier with the work Raul and his team did on my property! They installed a brand-new driveway, two sets of beautifully crafted floating steps, and a large patio--and everything turned out better than I imagined. Raul was professional, reliable, and stayed true to both the schedule and budget we agreed upon (a rarity in construction, in my experience!). His attention to detail and craftsmanship really stood out, especially with the floating steps which look modern and flawless. The entire process was seamless from start to finish. Raul kept me updated throughout the project, made thoughtful recommendations, and ensured everything was done to perfection. Minor issues came up but he was able to get them resolved quickly. Raul and his team offer exceptional service, workmanship, and value. I contacted Raul on Tuesday about doing a few small concrete installations (~60 sq ft in total) in our yard, and to break an existing concrete piece so that we could lower the depth of an in-place conduit PVC pipe. We were also short on time since we had a large landscaping project beginning the following Monday. Despite this being a small project, Raul treated it and us utmost care and respect, and offered very competitive pricing. Him and his dad came to install the concrete on Sunday (talk about dedication & service!) which worked perfectly for our overall schedule. They worked carefully and efficiently to install the new concrete and even stayed late to make sure everything was set correctly -- the weather is cooler now, so the concrete takes a while longer to settle. Thank you, Raul, for your partnership on our concrete project! The new concrete slabs look fantastic, and I know Raul and his team are now my first call for any future masonry work at our home. read more

Roman concrete was absolutely amazing to work with!!! I can't recommend Raul, his father and the team more... If you are considering having concrete work done, do yourself a favor and give Roman an opportunity to bid the job. We put out requests to Roman and 4 other local contractors through yelp. Raul was the first to respond, provided a detailed initial quote (which was very fair) and was even able to meet with us on the same day. He reviewed the project in better detail, confirmed the quote amount previously provided and agreed to complete some additional turf removal for a small additional fee. We waited until the weather cooperated and had our projected this last weekend. Honestly could not be happier. As others have mentioned, Raul is an absolute pleasure to deal with. He makes the entire process very comfortable and welcomes feedback/input with a smile. Given the recent heavy rains, our yard was pretty muddy which led to some expected challenges. They had to dig the majority of the area out by hand and while this led to an increase in the time, but it didn't change the attitudes, the quote or quality of the work. They arrived prior to the scheduled start time and worked hard for nearly 10 straight hours... Raul returned a couple days later to pressure wash our existing driveway, the sidewalk and even the street leaving the whole place in better condition than he found it. This is a local family business that takes great pride in their work, the attention to detail was fantastic and I've already said, we could not be happier. Thanks again to Raul and team. read more

If I could give Roman Concrete 6 stars, I absolutely would! I was a little unsure at first since they didn't have as many reviews as some of the other concrete businesses, but I am beyond impressed with Raul and his incredible crew. His keen design sense, attention to detail, communication, and reliability blew us away. Raul was there every step of the way to patiently guide us and answer any questions - from initial quote, to day-to-day work, to the finished product - and had such a great attitude that made him a breeze to work with. We did our driveway, walk-up, and backyard patio with him. Raul thought of things we (or the other folks who gave us quotes) never considered, like how we could improve our rain gutter drainage and the slope of our driveway. Pricing was very fair considering the high-quality job and experience you get. Raul took the time to do things the right way and made us feel like a priority. We would choose Roman Concrete 100 times over and will be recommending him to all our family and friends! read more
