What used to produce barely a trickle now delivers pressure so strong it rivals commercial output .The underground drip irrigation system is intelligently concealed beneath the hardscape and reemerges precisely within the base of our large entry planters. It is automated, timer-controlled, and calibrated for plant health without visual clutter. For us gardening is a foreign labor, the system removes guesswork and replaces it with precision. It lays the groundwork for what will be Madagascar jasmine and Rainbow's End climbing roses to ascend the custom trellis Speaking of the trellis -- it is a custom design by Byron himself and serves as the architectural anchor of the entire entry sequence. We recently completed a major paver project with Hillside Pavers, and I can honestly say the final result came out even better than I imagined. We were referred to Hillside Pavers by a close friend who had completed a similar project not long before ours, and that recommendation gave us a lot of confidence going in. After going through the process ourselves, I can absolutely see why they spoke so highly of the company. From the beginning, Byron made the design and estimating process feel very clear and professional. One thing I really appreciated was that he used an iPad on-site to draw out the design, calculate measurements, and price everything very accurately. It was not a vague "ballpark estimate" type of process -- it felt transparent, exact, and easy to visualize, which gave us a lot of confidence moving forward. We chose Hillside Pavers because their price was competitive and because we liked the salesperson, Heather. She went above and beyond in helping me to select the perfect design and made sure that I was able to get everything I wanted with the budget I had. I had my pavers done 5 years ago by someone who wasn't reputable because I wanted to save money and it was a huge lesson learned. I wish I would have gone with Hillside Pavers from the start because I couldn't be happier. They are coming back to put the mastic and sealer tomorrow but it already looks amazing!!! Byron and Oscar's crew (of Hillside Pavers) started the job EARLY (6:30am!) on the start date that we agreed to and EVERY day until the job was complete. I'm a absolute perfectionist and the job they did, by far, exceeded my expectations. The front porch/patio came out BEAUTIFUL and many neighbors have already commented on it. From the contractor's displayed sign, numerous community members jotted down the name and phone number of Hillside Pavers....so it will be interesting to see the company back in our community, doing other hardscape jobs. Really wanted this to be a 5 star review. We hired hillside to do a job that we were told would take 2 weeks. The initial communication was excellent, it's why we hired them in the first place. 8 weeks in it's still not complete with no valid reason as to why. We have no idea what's going on. Now No one gets back to us when we ask them to. The old saying when your a prospect you'll be promised the world, then things changed. That's what's happened here. The work is pretty good but we just can't get them to tell us what's going on or when this will be done. You'd think they'd want to be paid and gone; apparently not. They come out maybe once a week if we're lucky, do something small then we wait another week. I contacted them on 9/11 asked for a weekly update, no response. At this point all we need is the fence done, plants (which oddly enough seems to be an issue) and pavers sealed. If you consider hiring Hillside pavers I'd suggest you put a completion date in your contract. We believed them when they said they'd keep in good communication, that was only true the first 2 weeks. They've let us down and to be honest we're very surprised. We have other pressing things that make it important they finish. We've told them this and it has made no difference. The photos show what's not completed, and it's s very small area. We had other options of companies to hire that had great referrals in the area. At this point we're regretting choosing hillside. I'm beginning to wonder if the 5 star reviews on here are legitimate. Oscar the owner is a nice guy, so is Linda and Sandra but that means nothing if the follow through is not there. So here we are left hanging. I'll post updates if anything changes just to be fair, I want to make sure anyone whose considering them gets honest, fair and accurate information. Update 9/27/23 This project is complete. I changed the stars to 4 because the owner Oscar took control and finished the punch list items very quickly. He promised he'd take care of our issues and he did just that. The project turned out beautiful and just as expected. We are very pleased with the workmanship. It's truly perfect. As you can see with the updated photos everything looks very clean and professional. The gentleman they use as a sub contractor did a great job with installing the gate. Oscars suggestion to step down behind the fence since the grade is low there worked excellent. We've already had neighbors say how nice it looks. We asked Sandra the designer to bring a bit of the Pacific Northwest to Orange County and I think she did just that. Oscar assured us he is perfecting the communication in his company based on our previous complaints. I absolutely believe he has taken what we said to heart and he's an honest business owner. Although I can't give the overall experience 5 stars I would recommend the company. I would likely hire them again because the workmanship was excellent. Hillside Pavers recently worked on our new construction backyard. From the first step of requesting a quote to the final sign off, the communication was top notch. We were looking for a company that would be open with us about the process, the cost, and the end product. Byron came out to give us a quote and talked us through the entire paver process, our choices of paver size, and even offered expert guidance on which pavers we should choose. He was able to provide us with a quote on the spot. Byron put together a package for us to submit to our HOA for the work. Once we had a start date, the whole team, especially Valentina, were in constant contact with us about who would be arriving when, material delivery, and what to expect throughout the process. On the morning of our start date, Shaun came out to make sure everything was in order and confirm the material delivery locations. The teams that came out to complete the work were efficient and respectful. We have a rather small space, and despite the estimate of 3 days to complete the work, they were able to finish it in a day and a half. The quality of the work is excellent, they cut down the pavers to perfectly fit our space, and they leveled them down to our two drains. We did a huge backyard project in conjunction with a pool rehab. from the start to finish they are by far the best contractors weve ever worked with and we've used dozens. We need to call out Oscar's group as some of the pavers in our backyard were pushing up. Giovanni showed up diagnosed the problem and immediately addressed the problem. It turned out to a roots coming from the common area. Cleaned out the roots and reinstalled the pavers but even went further offering to put new sand down on the other pavers in the backyard. Last spring we started a huge backyard renovation - pool remodel, planter removal, new landscaping, and all new decking. Instead of having our pool contractor handle the pavers, we reached out to Hillside for a quote. Oscar came and was very knowledgeable and sent a very reasonable estimate in a timely manner. Hillside did all of the demo (minus the pool) and then paused the job until our pool contractor was ready for the pavers.
