My wife and I recently chose Joel to complete a long overdue landscaping project for our front and back yard and we are beyond happy with the result. Our project consisted of pouring 2 concrete slabs (1 along the side of the house and a second in the backyard), planting a boarder trim, and installing sprinkler systems in our back and front yard. Joel and crew completed all parts of this project with attention to detail and communicated effectively throughout. First and foremost, I have to give a huge shout out to the team lead managing the concrete part of our project. His attention to detail in recommending ideal drain setups in the sections where water had pooled in the past are exactly why we went Joel - we want to do things right the first time. After chatting with Joel, we installed the recommended drains, preventing a potentially expensive fix down the road. The rest of the project was completed with professionalism and Joel was great in communicating and working with our needs. Our one constructive feedback is that we did not receive a mock-up of the project before work was underway. We had a few last minute changes (the width of the trim around the backyard and the size of the mulch area in the front yard), but Joel & team communicated effectively and worked with us to make sure our needs were taken care of. All in all, we are so happy with our completed project. The level of professionalism, attention to detail, and our new back/front yard makes us confident that we made the correct choice in choosing Joel for our project. Thank you! read more

BRING ON THE SUPER EL NINO! Joel and Sons recently completed a much overdue project at our home. For years, our outside drains were clogged, and I found myself setting up pumps during the storms to get the pools of water away from our home. Every year, I would tell myself that I would get the drains cleared. Before the rains came this past winter, I hired a company to hydro jet the pipes. They tried to clear the drains, but because they were so clogged, their equipment failed. Again, I was setting up the pumps during the rain storm. So, I researched and found Joel and Sons. I met Joel and he examined our front/back yards. He gave an excellent and fair estimate that would fix the drainage problems. Throughought the entire project, Joel sent videos of the work being performed. He and the crew went above and beyond to make sure we wouldn't have any future issues. I am so impressed by Joel and Sons, and I will call them again for future projects. More importantly, I will make referrals to my family and friends. read more

Joel and his team redid our yard recently, and I am very happy with the results and overall experience! From the beginning, his team was very responsive and understood our requests. As first time homeowners, we were unsure of how to fill our previously empty yard. However, Joel personally came out to inspect the property and create a plan for us. We decided on a combination of hardscaping and landscaping that would fit our low maintenance preferences. The total was very reasonable and better than other quotes we received. His team was also very quick to update any changes to meet our HOA requirements and schedule the project. On the days of, the team was always on time. We liked the personal touch when Joel also came to ensure our project would be done correctly. As promised, our yard was done in just a few days and looks great. I'm extremely happy with the service and would recommend Joel & Sons for anyone looking for a great family run landscaper. read more

We were looking for quotes to get entire backyard concreted because we didn't want to deal with the disaster in the back. Found Joel and Sons on Yelp and decided to ask for a quote from them too. Joel responded with a couple of hours and even came out to our house to provide us some insights and free estimate within a couple days - itemized invoice, which we hoped for! Needless to say, we went with this company. Everything was so well planned and executed nicely. Due to extreme heat and poor rain weather, it pushed some projects back out, like ours. But their promised time of completion is almost to the tee. Joel would text us of pictures and questions of things they found during the project. He even helped us fixed our sprinkler system that previous owner messed up on. Flexible with our last minute requests. Gave us great suggestions on a low maintenance tree we wanted and got it for us! Their service is just above and beyond. I highly recommend them if you have an outdoor home improvement project in the queue! read more

The drainage solution has worked perfectly in all rains since. Very happy with the results.

I found Joel and Sons on Yelp and they were everything I was hoping for and more. My front yard sprinkler system needed an overhaul - replace all heads, replace three in-ground valves, move some heads to more optimal positions, fix leaks, and switch out my controller with a new Rachio one I purchased. Joel came out to take a look and provide an estimate after hearing my concerns and doing a walkthrough to diagnose what needed to be fixed. He was super responsive and on time, which I greatly appreciate. He had a crew of four tackle the project in one day and then he came back to walk through and ensure it was done well. His level of personal service is not typical today, but it was absolutely refreshing and I was thankful to have found Joel and his team. I'll certainly have Joel & Sons on future projects and I highly recommend you call Joel for your sprinkler and landscaping needs! read more

It is absurd this place is 4.9 and not 10.0 stars! I'd never go with another landscaper, the place is not cheap, not expensive, they are as fair and honest as they come. I appreciate that so much! Will they get to work right away? No. But they are absolutely worth the wait. The quality and care n concern for their work as meticulous, they care. If you want the best advice and great work from an honest local company, hire here. Hope this review helps others. Thank you Joel and team! read more

So after doing my part of saving water from our many years of drought, our once nicely landscaped yard had turned to a more modern upscale crackhouse look. It was time to bring it back to life. After a year of researching, planning & getting estimates, we decided on Joel & sons Landscaping inc. They were not the cheapest of the 3 estimates that we got, but definitely the most knowledgeable and professional company of them all. On the day of the estimate, Joel himself showed up, great personality, can tell he was very experienced and knowledgeable, showed nothing but professionalism. During the time of work, from start to finish, he got me involved with planning & design, let me choose the color and style of rocks & gravel and kept me informed and updated on all phases of the project. You can't ask for anymore interaction then that, unless you don't like being bothered. When the job was completed, Joel came out and had a last final walk through with me, with instructions on landscaping care and maintenance and answering any questions or concerns that I had. Entire crew was pleasant and helpful. Yard looks beautiful, will recommend this company to everybody. Patience is needed though, as they are busy, as all good companies are, but well worth the wait. 5 stars from me. read more

Joel and Sons has now serviced my residential property twice (this month-July 2025 and the first time in July 2022). I have been pleased with their work both times and would not hesitate to have them again if I need them. This time I had them come out to check on the LED yard lighting they installed in 2022 as I was having an issue with the yard lighting controller panel. I also needed the sprinklers checked as some did not seem to be working correctly, and mulch needed to be applied again in the non-grass areas. Additionally, a couple of the shrubs were dying and needed to be removed, and several other shrubs and four small to moderate sized myrtle trees in the back needed trimming. They did a fine job and the bill was a bit over $3K, with 3/4 of that for the purchase and placement of 10 cy of wood mulch. Joel did not charge me until the work was done to my satisfaction. Also, as he was able to correct the problem with the yard controller in just a few minutes on his initial visit to examine the work and prepare an estimate, he did not charge me for that. As they were already working on some large projects for other customers and as my small project was not an emergency, it did take a few weeks to get me scheduled, but it was worth the wait. read more

Joel and his team have been dedicating, committed, communicated, collaborated, and met our expected results. We moved to our house in January 2023. In the yard around the house, we encountered a lot of trouble on the drainage problem. I met Joel in July 2023 and organized a project by rebuilding and renovating my hardscape and landscape to solve all these problems. His team started one week before Thanksgiving in 2023 and was led by Carlos every week until March 2024. We work together to jointly work together for material selection and plant selection. The most important thing is that they are so flexible and knowledgeable to adapt to our minor design changes during this period to ensure that they meet our needs. Joel's team is very professional and can keep our yard clean all the time, so we can still go out to enjoy our life. The cost of the project is higher than the cost quoted by other contractors, and the final total exceeds our original offer. But we think this money has been well spent to achieve the goal from the beginning. We have recommended Joel to our friends and neighbors. Thank you Joel, Carlos, Romero and everyone in the team. read more

Once the backyard was complete, Joel's team showed up on time and within two days had my backyard looking Amazing! I was looking for a Mediterranean feel and he nailed it. My husband and I moved into our home in 2016 and inherited a very large front lawn with many small shrubs and trees and neither of us have much of a green thumb but we've done what we could to maintain the landscaping. Fast forward 3 years and we noticed some of our grass was slowly dying along with some divets in the lawn due to old and malfunctioning sprinkler heads. So I finally got around to doing some research on a landscaper / sprinkler repair service and narrowed it down to Joel and Sons. I called in and was able to schedule an appointment through the office manager, Kassandra. Joel came and analyzed our lawn and irrigation system and walked me through what needed to be done, shared his knowledge of our landscape with me, and re-programmed our irrigation control panel. He also gave me a rough estimate on the spot prior to his office sending over the proposal, which was helpful. There was a slight mishap in scheduling and communication along the way, however, Joel and his crew were able to make it out a week or so later to replace several sprinkler heads and even found one sprinkler head that caused heavy flooding on one part of our lawn that could have seeped underneath our house. We're glad they caught that and were able to replace the head right away before it caused more damage! It's been a few days since they have completed the work and overall, we are very happy with the services that Joel and Sons provided. Joel was prompt, professional, and fair with his prices, his crew did a great job, and Kassandra and Jennifer were easy to work with via phone/email. We recommend Joel and Sons to anyone who is looking for landscaping/irrigation services. Thanks guys! **Will return with an update** read more

I reached out to Joel and Sons to redo my entire irrigation system. However, when Joel came out he said redoing everything wasn't necessary and we only needed to revamp the existing system. This was great news because I have a large property and it would have been a lot more costly. I needed work on my irrigation system because of water waste issues. Joel and his team came out for 2 days and did the work. They changed a bunch of sprinkler heads, added a little irrigation system to my side garden and made it so the sprinklers water efficiently. Not only has my lawn and garden looked better but my water bill is a lot lower. Joel and sons are not only honest but they do great work. The price I paid was not cheap but it was fair and they truly do good work. They also offer a year warranty on their work. I had the work done in March and I wanted to wait to write this review until I had a good amount of time with the revamped irrigation system. I am so happy with Joel and sons and I highly recommend them. read more

I have been wanting to do a minor backyard makeover, convert the irrigation system to a drip system, and replace my old sprinkler time with a Wi-Fi one. I found Joel & Sons on Yelp. Jennifer and Kassandra were extremely friendly and pleasant on the phone. Joel came out on time and provided a quote within a couple of days. Joel was very knowledgeable, patient, and professional. I immediately trusted him so I didn't bother getting a second quote. Joel mentioned they were booked out until March but would try and fit my project in between jobs. Surprisingly, I received an email from the office, and they were able to start my project much sooner than planned. I was delighted! Joel and his crew arrived on time as promised. His crew Eduardo and the other two gentlemen worked hard and were friendly and professional the entire time. They always cleaned up after themselves. Joel checked in with me a few times a day and sent pictures to make sure I was fine with the progress before moving on further. The project took two days, much faster than I anticipated! I love and can't stop looking at my backyard! I wish I had done it sooner! I strongly recommend Joel & Sons and look forward to working with them again for my future landscaping projects. read more

We needed drainage and new concrete in the backyard. Joel came out to provide estimate and consultation. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional, and I knew this was a company we could trust for our project. His team was wonderful. They carefully demo'ed our old concrete and kept the house protected. They were responsive to my questions and requests. And they simply worked hard and did everything properly. They even buried additional drain pipes for the future rain gutter downspouts which was not part of the work scope. Nice bonus. They finished the job on time. I hired Joel & Sons to install pavers in my outdoor space (before and after pictures attached). Before providing an estimate, Joel went to my place to look at the space. I told him that I was thinking of pavers. He provided another option of stamped concrete, which was less expensive. I appreciated it because I wasn't aware of the option. Joel then sent me an estimate with both stamped concrete and pavers. Joel was the first person who gave me an estimate. I honestly didn't have other estimates, but after talking to others who had similar work done, I thought the estimate was fair. After discussing the pros and cons, I ended up going with the pavers. When I told Joel I was ready for the project to start, I was fortunate that the crew was available a few days later on the following Monday. The crew worked 7a-3p from start to finish, meaning that the crew didn't stop the project until it was finished. The crew paid attention to the details, making sure that each paver was level and that the pavers were level as a whole. The project took a little less than 4 days as estimated. After the crew applied the sealer, the finished space was better than I imagined it would be. I highly recommend Joel & Sons. Joel was honest and nice, and the crew did great work!
